Excellent article.  All true.  We all have to look beyond a candidate's promises to see what their real agenda might be.
862  Economy / Economics / Re: The United States has finally recovered the jobs lost during the Great Recession on: June 20, 2014, 11:23:34 AM
The US economy added 217,000 jobs in May. The unemployment rate held steady at 6.3%, a five-and-a-half year low.

With last month’s job growth, the US has finally recovered all of the jobs it lost during the Great Recession. (That’s without adjusting for population growth; economists estimate there are about 7 million more working-age Americans today than there were at the previous employment peak in January 2008.)

DAT MY PRESIDENT!!
Great, now what about the last 6 years off population growth?
Population growth is practically nonexistent. It comes strictly from immigration. Without immigration, our population would be dropping.
To sustain a population, you need a fertility rate of 2.05. We're at 1.9 last I checked.
What was the population of the US in 2008?What is it now?Are you capable of answering such simple questions?

If I would go back in time, I would "invent" the time machine. Then I go to the future so I can go back in time to "invent" the time machine. Then I go to the future so I can go back in time to "invent" the time machine. And on and on and on.
865  Other / Off-topic / Re: What exactly is the most important thing in our life? on: June 20, 2014, 10:30:27 AM
Having a great job or owning a great car or house. Why?Because if your in that situation you’ll happy, and if you’re financially stable your relationship runs smoothly no "money talks"...

867  Other / Politics & Society / China's scary growth! on: June 20, 2014, 08:33:02 AM
I came through this piece of interesting and mind blowing trivia today.

Apparently Bill Gates posted a tweet about China's growth.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/13...91527.html

It is stated that in the past three years alone, China had used as much cement as US had used in the past HUNDRED YEARS.

What do you think about China's growth as a developing nation and emergence to global superpower status?

One to ten years of imprisonment plus flogging for pecking a foreign non-Muslim individual ( must mention that which is a normal gesture) is a punishment stated by Islam
I completely respect the religion.. But I would like to know what would be the punishment if Hatami had kissed a Muslim boy ?
869  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is getting adversely affected by Immigrants on: June 19, 2014, 06:11:50 PM
The USA is a nation of immigrants. Even immigrants in the USA complain about immigrants. It just seems to be what they do. People here in the UK say they want to leave because there are too many immigrants, and by leaving, they become immigrants. It seems that every immigrant wants to be the last immigrant.
870  Other / Politics & Society / Re: GOP: Obama's Failed Economy after 5 Years on: June 19, 2014, 05:48:39 PM
What happened to the reported $850,000,000,000 (which is probably more like $1,000,000,000,000) Stimulus Bill that promised "shovel ready jobs?"

Our tax dollars went to counties that didn't even exist...jobs that left the country. It was a total fiasco and waste of almost a trillion dollars...lost/wasted/stolen/abused.

More regulation limiting job growth (Obamacare and min wage come to mind)...taxes that force American companies to prosper overseas...etc.

Hell yea it's a failed economy because of his policies.

These liberals are becoming a very very sick joke… They can convince each other of this stuff… Actually takes no effort.  But the reality is the economy is stagnant at best

Good one via The Guardian.  Brushes on some of the topics discussed on this board, and provides one of the most plausible explanations for the scope of intelligence agency internal population surveillance, 'fusion center' construction, etc:

These idiots think there will be social unrest over CLIMATE CHANGE?  Oh, SURE!  It couldn't possibly be the NSA, ObamaCare, the IRS targeting of conservative groups, immigration crisis on the border, our abandonment of Ukraine and Iraq, the Obama admin exchanging 5 top Taliban for a deserter, the ongoing depression, or the collapse of the currency  ...
874  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sexism double standards experiment. on: June 19, 2014, 03:06:50 PM
It is just a fundamental difference between the sexes. Basically, women develop less muscle and ....Well, this is how it has been going on since ages and root of this lies in the fundamental difference between the genders.. Women are the smaller side in terms of physique and stature and thus gain sympathy from people as a whole..

876  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iraq Isis Crisis: Medieval Sharia Law Imposed on Millions in Nineveh Province on: June 19, 2014, 01:41:10 PM
Yes. Which is exactly the problem caused by this "hearts and minds" nonsense.
Toss out Maliki, put in a Kurdish strongman who aligns his country with the US, and encourage him to start butchering Sunni Arabs who resist. Saddam could have EASILY put this nonsense down with a bit of well placed brutality. I mean, look at the Anfal campaign to see how to properly do counter-insurgency in the Muslim world. People like ISIS don't understand anything except brute force, which is exactly why they need iron fisted dictators like Bashar Assad or Saddam Hussein to keep them in line.
I agree. Nobody wants to f.... with the Kurds, and they will fuck with anyone. It may be hard to accomplish anything with them because we fucked them under George Bush 1's incursion into Iraq, and instead of getting help from the US, they got gassed by Saddam.
For some reason, I have always had a fascination with Kurds. They are awesome, in my opinion.
Maybe this is why:
When I was a kid (age 14), I played Metal Gear Solid and that was my first introduction to Kurds. Sniper Wolf from Metal Gear Solid is a Kurd. In fact, Metal Gear Solid was one of my chief influences for joining the U.S. Military. After I finished my U.S. Army service, including a deployment to Kuwait, I went back to the University of Colorado at Denver and finished my Political Science Degree. I spent some free time during college studying Kurds and found them to be even more interesting than what Sniper Wolf alone in Metal Gear Solid could be.
877  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Favorite political figure? on: June 18, 2014, 05:12:23 PM
My favorite leader is Abraham Lincoln .. He was simply a genius.. Had he be ruling the country now, the world would have been an all together a different place surely..

Lol...hell yes it would be different. Martial law, imprisoning dissenters, no trial by jury...

With the technology of today he could kill a lot more than a few hundred thousand Americans in the name of "Unifying the country" aka, squashing individual and state rights.
Abraham Lincoln was a pure politician, and with today's media his ability to flip-flop on issues, depending on which region of the country he was in, would be non-existent. Abraham Lincoln told the audience exactly what they wanted to hear, and definitively stated that if he could end the war without freeing a single slave he would. His goal was to keep the Union together, not to end slavery. However, he was instrumental in the passage of the 13th Amendment, outlawing slavery; Sadly, his assassination prevented a successful "Reconstruction" of the United States. Although, I'm not sure had he lived, things would be any different. The Radical Republicans of that era were able to capitalize on the tragedy to ensure passage of significant legislation, the 14th and 15th Amendments!!

But, with the way Citizens United has perverted the 14th amendment it would be interesting to see what old Abe thinks of Corporations being considered people and political contributions protected as free speech!!
Agreed. He is very rare political figure in the history.
Is the story about his fight against vampire (during the civil war) legend or just rumor? Maybe I watch Hollywood too much. But frankly I heard many legends what all the first men of the States do, great things (or they all are Hollywood's work again?).
yes Abraham Lincoln is very rare political figure in the history. Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was the 16th president of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War—its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional and political crisis. In so doing he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy.

All villages in the area should be given something valuable with a GPS device in it. When members of Boco Haram steal it they will easy for the drones to find.
Yeah, I have said something similar too, although try should have implanted a tracker chip into the gitmo detainees especially the numb nut who’s leading isis right now. Would have easily located them and evaporated them from existence.
879  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Boko Haram and their reign of terror on: June 18, 2014, 04:11:51 PM
This is latest news that "A new briefing paper by IDMC highlights violence and abuses perpetrated by Nigeria’s most notorious Islamist insurgent group, Boko Haram, and the scale of internal displacement provoked by its campaign of terror. According to government authorities,* a total of 3.3 million people have been internally displaced in the country due to violence, including by that caused by Boko Haram."
Boko Haram blamed for Nigeria village attacks; 15 killed, chief kidnapped. They burned a local traders market, several homes and a church, said residents who survived the Sunday attack on the remote Christian village of Daku in the district of Askira Uba. "The gunmen looted food items and money left by traders while fleeing the attack," eyewitness and resident Andrew Musa said of Sunday's violence. "They pursued people who attempted to flee into nearby bushes and shot them. We recovered 15 bodies from the bushes after the attack, including that of the village chief,"

880  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bergdahl prisoner swap? on: June 18, 2014, 03:56:55 PM
The United States may have hoped that swapping five Guantanamo Bay prison detainees for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl would have sparked talks between the Taliban and Afghan government, but so far the deal has yet to result in movement towards reconciliation.
Yea, that may be what they were hoping for but now it just seems like they are giving the Taliban more power by giving in to their demands.
Plus they just released 5 high ranking terrorists back into the world who now has been in US and no doubt learned more about the US in their many long years in the states. It is very dangerous to release them and all this for a sergeant who deserted his post and got captured while complaining about the lack of leadership in the US military!

What a joke!
