Let's see how much time fallllling will last before being nuked again.

And wtf Bitfinex?

3200(!) wall.

Hopefully it's obvious to everyone now that this is a manipulation wall

They are trying desperately to keep this "downtrend" in place..

no other walls around, shit tons of good news, has been for weeks months, shorts continue to build.

you guys are over speculating, this wall is someone that wants out, because scared of falling prices.

LOL!

yes its obvious now....

I had a thought today that maybe it's a group of merchants trying to keep the price stable to make BTC more enticing as a "currency"

Bitpay or Coinbase (if they didn't need the immediate cash) could easily stop selling off-market and put up huge walls to suppress a breakout and keep volatility low

i don't think so.

this markets main attraction for deep pockets is the potential to become the manipulator.

your suggesting that Bitpay and/or Coinbase is trying to do this.

thats possible, but i feel a much more powerful player in the room, i doubt Bitpay and/or Coinbase could be him.

who knows, tooo much speculation for me, i'm going to stay away from this place this weekend.

I don't think it's likely...but just a thought I had

Trying to take off my tinfoil hat for a few minutes and play devils' advocate  Tongue

Stamp is leading Finex which is a nice change  Smiley

Bitstamp and BFX breaking upwards...

honey badger!
868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: September 11, 2014, 08:14:10 PM

lol, now everyone is confused again.

Still, 2.5k coins still remain just to reach the 24hour high on bitstamp. Thats pretty bad.

Time for market buys everyone  Cheesy

The only way Mr.wall will be stopped is when the walls get eaten unexpectedly. We're getting pretty close it seems as every time the walls come there's less and less fear

869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 11, 2014, 07:28:22 PM
well well well Grin Bitstamp doesn't seem to give a f*ck!

870  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 11, 2014, 07:04:10 PM
Who the hell would put up 4 digit walls ?

Especially considering the price would most likely be $500 + if said walls hadn't been put up

Maybe EW trading. If he speculates we are currently only in a correction wave and downtrend will resume in a few days it's not a bad idea, to put such high walls right before the start of wave 3.

But I don't know if this is more than a wild guess. My knowledge about EWs is abolutely basic. Look here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=672187.msg8766949#msg8766949

Maybe...

But if the seller really wanted to get the best price for his coins he would pull the walls, set small walls $10 higher and then set walls again.

Seems pretty odd to me if their intent really is selling all those coins

Most of us should realize, by now, that the real intent is NOT to sell the coins.... because as thefunkybits suggests, there seem to be many better ways to accomplish such.

... quite, the intent is to get others to sell coins below wall price, and feel good doing it ...

As I pointed out yesterday, this all looks like an attempt to hold the price down.

I'm not too worried though - it's similar to a coil that gets held down or a dam that holds back water. The longer and further you push the price of BTC down the harder it will spring back up!
871  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: September 11, 2014, 05:07:57 AM
take it down...

I'm getting really sick of these dudes.

it's really quite fascinating price action, or inaction, one might say.

to my mind, they're blocking walls.  someone needs to keep the price down.  but yeah, they seem to have an endless supply of coins.  the good news is that the buyers are getting bolder and buying up everything right up to the edge of the large ask walls.  the spread, instead of increasing, is decreasing as buyers get more comfortable knowing that the ask walls aren't going to suddenly market sell and wipe out the bid side.  buyers are slowly eating them away and it's just a matter of time.

Yup +1

I was thinking the same, these walls don't seem to phase us anymore.

The boy has cried wolf time and time again and the gig is almost up!

874  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why everyone here suggests not to mine? Explain it! on: September 10, 2014, 11:43:11 PM
Historically buying Bitcoins has always been more profitable than mining them (especially after the price has corrected from the top of a bubble)

You could spend 1K on a miner now and watch the difficulty eat away at your profits, or you could buy 2 coins and sit on them.

if you spent that $1K on a miner do you think you would be able to mine more than 2 Bitcoins? If not, then simply buying the coins is the better option
875  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 10, 2014, 11:29:30 PM

Now this is 20k coins in 2 weeks. Price is still holding fairly steady. Cant last forever.

Very true, great point...

despite all this "manipulation" or selling or whatever you would like to call it the stability in the midst of all that is unreal
876  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 10, 2014, 11:24:55 PM
There they are...

2k on BFX
2k on Bitstamp

These sellers are real. Back down we go.

oh noez

the struggle is real, the sellers maybe real

Next leg up to $500 tonight?

it looks like we've retraced on low volume and support is filling in here
878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 10, 2014, 05:26:35 PM
I gotta feeling were gonna break $500 today

some of those big ask walls seemed to disappear last night
879  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 10, 2014, 04:01:18 PM
Say you do have 1,000 coins to toss around....would you guys recommend bot trading?

Why risk trading?  Except obvious price movements, of course.
1k coins is .5M USD.  Within a year or two, you are likely to have 2M USD, and maybe more.

Remember, most traders lose money.

I would assume anyone with that amount of coins would know the answer to that question

I wouldnt risk it either...swing trading by hand would probably be most profitable
