I'm getting very good results so far with the new 20130818 firmware. Orange LED is blinking but I don't care. Today I discovered a potential problem with my Fractal Newton 1000W PSU, the PSU Fan doesn't work at all, it just stands still. I don't know how the Fan Control is implemented in this PSU, but I can't imagine the Fan not running at all @ 680W load. I already contacted Fractal about this, but I don't expect an answer before monday. So I'll just let it run like this and see what happens. Cooling should be enough with those powerful Avalon fans.

someone suggested to remove the whole back plate (with the 2 fan holes in it), he said he got 2°C better temperatures with that. Disadvantage is that you can't fix the PSU with screws then.

Some power measurements for Avalon.Unit is batch#3 w/4 modules, fw 20130723. Temperature target 65C. Keep in mind this is equiv with 45 for batch#1&2. Temp1 (input temperature) is 21C . Temp3 (output temperature) is roughly 15C lower then Temp2. Wall is wall power in watts. Errors is percentage of HW errors versus diff1 shares. freq | wall | fan1 | fan3 | temp2 | errors | 256 | 685 | 2280 | 2040 | 60 | | 270 | 722 | 2280 | 2160 | 60 | | 282 | 755 | 2400 | 2160 | 61 | | 300 | 803 | 2400 | 2160 | 63 | 0.94% | 325 | 873 | 2520 | 2280 | 66 | 1.08% | 350 | 943 | 3480 | 3240 | 63 | 1.35% |
Produces arround 109-110Gh/s @350MHz, confirmed by btcguild (more or less). At 375MHz unit cannot maintain 65C temperature target. Hash is less, around 105Gh/s, due to large percentage of HW errors. I upgraded the PSU on my 3 Module Batch3, from 850W XFX to 1000W Fractal (80+ Platinum), it went from ~680W @ 325MHz to ~640W. 40W less is quite nice, the XFX was an emergency solution so that I can start mining immediately, it also missed a second 8 Pin EPS plug.

How to use the localbitcoins.com transaction service
LocalBitcoins.com features a powerful transaction option, which makes bitcoin cash-exchange process much more convenient and secure. If localbitcoins.com transaction is used, buyer can see that bitcoins actually exist, and seller can show his/her willingness to sell with funding the transaction.
For the buyer, the process is following:
Receive offer if you are advertiser / make an offer if you are contacter Take down or memorize the verify code, keep it secret Meet and exchange cash to verify code Seller should be able to show you the transaction verify code - by seeing it, you can be sure that the transaction is finalized Bitcoins transfered to you
For the seller:
Receive offer if you are advertiser / make an offer if you are contacter Fund the transaction, get SMS release code and number, write them down to your phone Meet and receive the cash Send the release SMS message or release the transaction online Both receive confirmation SMS (if they have provided phone numbers) Bitcoins transfered to buyer

I have pushed that change to the gist (please test it to make sure it still works, I had to clean up my code and remove some other experimantal stuff from my own version before committing) there are now 2 new variables: FIAT_COLD = 0 # Amount of Fiat stored at home but included in calculations COIN_COLD = 0 # Amount of Coin stored at home but included in calculations
If all your money is at mtgox then these must be both 0. If you want to pretend you have more money than what is in the mtgox account then simply add non-zero positive numbers here. Example: You own 42฿ and want to run the strategy with all of them but you only want to put 20฿ into MtGox and keep the other 22฿ at home. Then you just set COIN_COLD = 22 and the bot will include your cold coins in all calculations (which means the order sizes will be larger). You can do the same also with USD you don't want to store too many USD at the exchange all the time. Note that when doing this it might easily run out of coins or USD if price moves too far in one direction. In this case you have to cancel all orders (press "c"), (also press "i" and write down the current imbalance for later comparison), stop the bot, then send enough of the cold funds to MtGox (and maybe also withdraw some from the other side if it has become too much), then adjust FIAT_COLD and COIN_COLD to reflect the new situation, wait for your funds to arrive in your account, start the bot again: First press "i" and compare the numbers to make sure the bot calculations are still correct (if not then try to figure out your mistake and fix it, if its as expected then restart the bot), if it is too far out of balance rebalance with "b", otherwise just start it again with "p". Thanks, I'm testing this now.

So about $100 worth would be a good start, as someone else mentioned?
$100 is still not enough, thats not worth the electricity running the computer. It starts with $5000 or $10000 and it becomes interesting with $100k or $500k (one can modify the code to add offsets to the account balance, so only the absolutely needed money must be in MtGox and the rest can be stored in safer places, maybe I could post this modification, I'm using it myself) I'm very interested in a version with this feature.

Is the bot currently broken? I only get "identification required to access private API". I didn't change anything, it just doesn't work anymore.

lol, I just looked at the german translation ( http://www.butterflylabs.com/de), they even translated their company name.
Also a newsletter gets a "Mitteilungsblatt", LOL. Every german website calls a newsletter "newsletter".. They obv. used google translate or something like that. Hey BFL, I'm a native german and I can do all the translations for you if you want for a couple of BTC.

Nice, never heard of screen. thanks for the info, it's working now, even if I close the ssh client.

got this running on my raspberry pi now for testing purposes with small amount of funds, and it's working as intended so far. But I got a little problem: how can I run the bot in background, I can't fork the process to background using "&" because I won't be prompted for the decryption password, and if I close the SSH session the process gets killed.

I like the idea, is it also able to trade BTC/EUR ?

why are you bidding btc worth more than 4000 EUR on a 10GH/s device? This is insane.
