862  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you lost btc at some point of the time ? What is your story on: September 11, 2020, 02:33:15 PM
I was a victim of this fake website crypto-pandemic.ltd before when I was a beginner. They offer to double your money for only 24 hours, so as a beginner, I became really interested in it because of thinking that I could earn a lot of money when I invest my money here. Without hesitation I invest 0.001 BTC I waited for 24 hours but nothing happens, it doesn't make me doubt on it because fake or scam website is not really familiar to me, I waited again for another day, almost 5 days of waiting and nothing still happen. So I ask my good friend about it, he said that it is a scam because there is no legit investment website that will double your money for only 24 hours.

I am really disappointed at that time because as a beginner that amount of money is already big for me but it already happened and there's no way for me to recover my lost money. I already learned my lesson and I won't trust those kinds of offers again.

864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Global Crypto Adoption Index 2020. on: September 09, 2020, 07:00:53 AM
Ukraine took first place as the Global Crypto Adoption Index 2020 followed by Russia, Venezuela, China, Kenya, USA, South Africa, Nigeria, Colombia, Vietnam. These are the top 10 countries, these are made by Chainalysis, knowing that cryptocurrency adoption is growing around the world.

To make this happen, the researcher weighted the index formula to measure cryptocurrency activity and the country's population and economy size. The researchers want to show to all of you those countries with the residents that move the biggest share of their financial into cryptocurrency. The methods that the researchers have done are explained below.

This Global Crypto Adoption Index is made up of  four metrics
1. On-chain value received (weighted by purchasing power parity (PPP) per capita).
Quote
We calculate the metric by estimating total cryptocurrency received by that country, and weighting the on-chain value based on PPP per capita, which is a measure of the country’s wealth per resident. The higher the ratio of on-chain value received to PPP per capita, the higher the ranking, meaning that if two countries had equal cryptocurrency value received, the country with the lower PPP per capita would rank ahead.
2. On-chain retail value received (weighted by PPP per capita).
Quote
The goal of this metric is to measure the activity of non-professional, individual cryptocurrency users, based on how much cryptocurrency they’re transacting compared to the wealth of the average person. We approximate individuals’ cryptocurrency activity by measuring the amount of cryptocurrency moved in retail transactions, which we designate as any transaction for under $10,000 USD worth of cryptocurrency. We then rank each country according to this metric but weight it to favor countries with a lower PPP per capita.
3. Number of on-chain deposits(weighted by number of internet users).
Quote
The goal of this metric is to rank countries based on whose residents are carrying out the highest number of cryptocurrency transactions. We measure this by taking the ratio of on-chain cryptocurrency deposits to the country’s total number of internet users. The higher the ratio, the higher the ranking, meaning that if two countries had an equal number of deposits, the country with fewer internet users would rank higher.
4. Peer to peer (P2P) exchange trade value(weighted by PPP per capita and number of internet users).
Quote
Unlike our other three metrics, P2P trade volume isn’t expressed on blockchains, but still makes up a significant percentage of all cryptocurrency activity, especially in the developing world. We rank countries by their P2P trade volume and weight it to favor countries with lower PPP per capita and fewer internet users, the goal being to highlight countries where more residents are putting a larger share of their overall wealth into P2P cryptocurrency transactions.

865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for blind people on: September 08, 2020, 11:15:31 AM
I think it would be hard for blind people to access bitcoin because one of the main body that we are using for the cryptocurrency is our eyes, we cant use well any technology without sights but we have here the Assistive Technology(AT) which helps people to access technology.
Quote
Assistive technology (AT) is a broad term that refers to hardware and software that enable people with disabilities to access technology. For those who are blind, the main AT are screen readers, braille displays, and speech recognition software.
It can fix their problem. https://www.levelaccess.com/understanding-assistive-technology-how-does-a-blind-person-use-the-internet/
866  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How to protect yourself from fake giveaways. on: September 07, 2020, 01:52:20 PM
Best way to protect yourself from them is to avoid all of them.
Lol, are you serious about that? Your point is correct but how an individual knows if the giveaways are legit or not, well as a bitcoiner who holds not much money, we are always looking for giveaways, it is an opportunity so we will always grab it whenever we can. We really want to avoid these fake giveaways but the thing here is that it is hard for us to identify whether it is legit or not, as what the OP's says, we should always look for the official websites or announcement if they have posted the giveaways, if you see it on their posts then definitely it is legit.
867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are scammers everywhere, it is obvious online on: September 07, 2020, 07:29:36 AM
I became a victim of a scam website before, they offer to double my money for only 1 day so as a beginner of this crypto world, I don't have any ideas about the scam and I cannot say if this is legit or real so I tried to invest 0.001BTC then 1 day had passed, I still don't receive my money and the interest but I still trust the website and I had waited for almost 5 days before I realized to myself that it is a fake website. I am disappointed with that but I just considered it as my lesson as a beginner in the crypto world. I learned that there is no legit investment website that will double your money for only a few days.

I won't invest anymore in this kind of website, maybe as a beginner, this is pretty much normal because we don't have enough knowledge about these things and we can easily trust people or things when they offer goods things from us, like making double our money. This is a really good offer but it is really impossible to happen. I am still new from the crypto world and I know that there are still many things that I can experience, better to gain knowledge first before trying or doing anything.

870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best ways of introducing someone to bitcoin ? on: September 03, 2020, 04:13:30 AM
Teaching cryptocurrency to your family and friends is a good thing to do, we should share the things we know about the crypto world especially to our loved ones because we know the benefits that it can give to many people.

You may start telling them about these things:
1. What are blockchain and cryptocurrency.
2. Tell them how cryptocurrency has been made.
3. Things that cryptocurrency can do or where can you use cryptocurrency.
4. You may also give them an idea of how to earn cryptocurrency.
5. The best thing to do is to tell them to join this forum, honestly I learned cryptocurrency because of this forum. One of my friends told me this platform and I am very thankful because I learned a lot of things here. There are many boards here that can help us to know cryptocurrency in different fields. At first, I was so confused because there are so many terms that I really don't know, but whenever I encounter those terms I just search it on google, and sometimes I ask him about it.
871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest with due diligence and proceed with caution on: September 02, 2020, 06:37:34 PM
Invest in what you can afford to loose they say, but the real question is, are you willing to let go of that money?
Practically speaking, no one wants to lose their money but the eagerness to earn and to have more profit will lead them to take the risk if you are familiar with this line.

872  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Lies on: September 02, 2020, 02:25:43 PM
If wearing a facemask and implementing lockdown are not the answers then what would it be? The virus can spread so quickly to everyone especially if we don't be careful on our lives, we can easily get the virus if we don't wear a face mask, the virus will still spread to everyone continuously if there is no lockdown in specific areas. Those things are really important, do not say that it is not because it helps us to prevent the virus from spreading.

Maybe the number of cases is all lies, I think they are doing it just to give a threat to the people that the virus can easily be transferred to anyone ao we really need to be careful. This virus brought the economy suffered so I think our government is planning the best thing to do to recover and as of now as a normal people as a citizen of our country, all we need to do is to stop the spreading of the virus by wearing a facemask and maintain proper hygiene.
873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be useful to the forum ? on: September 02, 2020, 12:33:06 PM
One of the common reason why we cannot create useful content is because of being lack of knowledge, I know to myself that I am one of them because I am still a beginner of this crypto world and I find so hard to relate myself on some topics here, so one thing that I am doing whenever I don't know the topic is that I use the google search if there is a term that is new for me or I don't understand, it helps a lot, searching before commenting on a certain topic is not that hard and it won't consume so much of you time.

There are always answers to any problem, you just need to be hard work on finding it. We have the internet that can help us a lot, there are many information that we can learn from searching. If there's a will then there's a way, always keep it in our mind.
874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Plagiarism in newbies on: August 31, 2020, 08:42:18 AM
Plagiarism is a crime, no matter your reason is, if you plagiarize something then you may go to jail especially if it happens in a big event. There are many reasons why people do plagiarize.
1. They just want to complete the task or requirements easily so they tend to plagiarize any content.
2. They don't even know what to do or to write so they end up doing plagiarism.
3. They think that they cannot be caught for doing it, there are some people who copy other's content and providing different source links so it may look like they paraphrase it.

There are many ways for us to avoid plagiarism, always keep in mind that whenever you get an idea from other sources, you should provide the link, don't also copy the whole content because it will still be plagiarism if you provide only the link and copy it. You still need to paraphrase it.

All of the boards or sections of this forum are all important and can benefit us as a cryptocurrency user. We have different fields here that will help us to understand and gain knowledge about anything related to cryptocurrency and blockchain.
1. Beginners & Help - it will help us to understand more the rules of that forum and the environment we have here. You can also use it to acquire basic knowledge about cryptocurrency. You can also use it to ask things related to cryptocurrency.
2. Gambling section - It talks about any information or discussion about gambling, it can be sports, gambling games, and any information that we can have related to gambling.
3. Off-Topic - any good information or anything that can be interesting for many bitcoiners. You may see here useful information that is not related to cryptocurrency.

Some of the sections have a summary of what can you see upon clicking it. All are useful, it's better if we explore not only one section of this forum. If we want to gain more knowledge then we should do this way.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam victims on: August 25, 2020, 01:43:40 PM
It's really hard to turn back the money that has been stolen in this virtual world. When you are still having contact with that scammer then you better to block him or her, there are still some thoughts by scammers that they can still scam you so better not to entertain him anymore.
It's better to report the situation t the authority because they know the best thing to do with what happened to you.

After being scammed, you should now change your crypto wallet information, change your passwords, and impotent details. Make it a lesson for you, know how scammers approach a person so the next time it would happen again, you know what to do.
879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why don't more people invest in btc? on: August 25, 2020, 09:37:09 AM
There are still many people who don't know things about cryptocurrency especially if they are living in a country that banned cryptocurrency. They don't know it so they are afraid to try it, well that is what we can feel whenever there is something related happens in real life.

There are also some people who trust stocks over cryptocurrency so they choose to invest in it because of thinking that their money is safer than investing in crypto.

There are also some people who think that bitcoin is not well secured because it is decentralized, most of the people only regard legal transactions allowed by the government. The government is no place in crypto so they tend to doubt investing in it.

Thinking also that they may lose their money in crypto, cryptocurrency is volatile which means that it changes its process rapidly. If they are not that so familiar with it then they may think that they can lose their money easily.

Reading books is really good, it makes us learn new things. There are some people who are really comfortable learning things through reading books than surfing the internet because there is still fake information that we can read on the internet, unlike the information that we can acquire from reading books.
