861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shared idea on Bitcoin scarcity and it's relation to halving on: August 27, 2023, 11:33:20 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong but afaik that's not accurate.

The 50coins in the genesis block can't be spent, but they exist nonetheless.
You are right that the 50BTC coinbase reward from Genesis Block 0 cannot be redeemed or spent, but that does not invalidate the post you are replying to.

Satoshi just created a protocol but did not put any Bitcoins into it. It was designed to function in a specific way with a distribution mechanism. The 50 bitcoins from Block 0 were not put by Satoshi either and miners are still redeeming their coinbase reward long after any involvement from Satoshi.

862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with enforced tax on: August 27, 2023, 11:25:54 AM
People have been killed for it and tortured (sure this happens with fiat but the blood is on your hands now).
Do not expect a sensible argument from someone who types this as a negative of Bitcoin.

And do not feed the troll, just add the user to your ignore list.

Realistically they will allow you trade freely with your other citizenship as proof of KYC, if you are at the time not living in the restricted area.
You can check through the Terms of Service, but it will not offer you any protection if they choose to use the duality in details as a reason the restrict you from spending the funds you have in your their wallet.

Try contacting their customer care should you wish to transition to a different proof of identity.

Today could not have gone any better for David Moyes and his Hammers. They were lucky to go in front early and that gave them the liberty to sit back and make life difficult for Brighton which they did to perfection. B&H were able to hold the ball in harmless areas, but as soon as they tried advancing to the final third WestHam quickly closed down the spaces limiting their creativity and fluidity.
Typical hit and run strategy working to perfection.

If City win tomorrow they will be the only side to be 3 for 3, and that is a side you will not want to get a clear sight of the title early on.

...mini Haaland will be good for them even if he turns out to be a flop.
This cracked me a little.

Being serious, I fancy us to win if we can get through the first 15 minutes without conceding. Will be a very tough game but our attacking options are maybe the best in the league.
Newcastle will expectedly come in for a draw. They did it a lot last season against the top sides and will likely continue the same pattern this season. They are also good at keeping a game balanced and limiting goal scoring chances. I will expect the match to remain goalless for the first 15, possibly the first 45 too.

omg united trolling us in 4 minutes the game starts they are down to 0-2
Felt like the old United for a second.

866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Does It Work? on: August 26, 2023, 06:30:14 AM
Bitcoin mining is the process of adding and verifying blocks of transactions to Bitcoin’s public blockchain.
You are mixing up what mining is and what full nodes does.
Full nodes verify transactions after they are broadcasted to check if the Bitcoins being sent are owned by the private key that signed the transaction. This is not the process of mining and should not be mixed up with it.
Not al full nodes are miners

Every time Bitcoin is mined, the cryptographic problem becomes harder to solve, meaning that miners will require a higher hash rate to succeed in earning block rewards. This means that more computing power is needed to earn the same amount of cryptocurrency.
The cryptographic problem does not become harder after each mining process.
Difficulty adjustment takes place every 2,016 blocks (that averagely comes around every two weeks). It can become harder or easier depending if the average time over the past two weeks for block confirmation was less than 10 minutes or more than ten minutes.

Chelsea should lock up shop now so I get the correct score, it will be a good way to start match week 3.
I could not watch the whole game, but for the little I did, Chelsea were fairly in control of the game and were able to dictate the pace of it. It is against one of the worst opponents in the league but is a good win for the confidence of the coach and the lads.
Salah at 31 will be really tempted by the Saudi offer after winning everything there is to win in club football, except the Europa league. It will be a huge blow for Liverpool so close to the end of the transfer window and they will probably frustrate the move if he considers it.

868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are there crypto related freelancing sites around? on: August 25, 2023, 06:58:10 PM
You first of all need to identify the unique skills you offer, this is the first step of freelancing; offering marketable and practical skills.

I am not an expert in marketing freelancing skills but you should focus on what platforms are best to market your skills and which ones fit your desire to be paid in crypto specifically. Then you build your pitch around that platform and the tools available to you there.

Your pitch or ad regardless of the platform you post it in should be;
  • Catchy
  • Professional
  • Unique
  • Self explanatory
  • Should show your best angle
  • It should also be updated and not just reused over and over again

You can include banners or info-graphics if the platform you are marketing on allows it and it should also be done very professionally.

This forum is a good place to get clients, specifically those willing to pay in Bitcoin. Head over to the Services[1] section and create a thread, but first look at other service threads and how they sell their skills to learn from others.
You need to become at least a Jr. Member or purchase Copper membership[2] to post images here on the forum.

You have a limited time to catch the eye of a potential client among thousands of other equally qualified ones and you should ensure your pitch gets their attention and holds it.
Try to watch videos about marketing your skills and work using that to build yourself.

Great episode and I guess the 4 month wait time is not too much compared to the wait time for some previous videos.
The editing cuts were also good and not excessively overdone, just enough for it not to be monotonous.

I can see thus channel blowing up very much in the future with the halving and all that comes with it expected in the next two years. This will bring in a ton of new users and they will be looking to lick up any old content they missed, and what better way to do that than through videos?

We can assoome the war Will be over soon becouse blackrock invest in ukraine so 1-2 years more and war over.
The war is just 1½ year in now. An extra one or two years is not exactly soon and will still put a heavy toll on all countries involved.

All the while it was always a question of interests and sovereignty between the world powers and some parties involved were more than willing to play the long game to get what they want using the media to deflect their interests.

I will not still expect an easy outcome for U.S.A or total collapse pf the Russian ranks as you are suggesting.

If that report can predict the price of Bitcoin with the help of those indicators in a accurate way then that would be a really nice addition in Bitcoin-sphere.
I will not be that optimistic. There is no model that has accurately predicted the price at every attempt, we all make educated guesses based on historical data and expected trajectory which can be correct some of the time.

I took a look at the YouTube video and it was a concise piece which offers some promise that the model will be useful to the average bitcoin user.

872  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Open Electrum Android App in READ-ONLY mode? on: August 24, 2023, 06:11:09 AM
This is exactly what I do NOT want. This procedure creates/replicates a full wallet.
No it does not. It replicates a watch only wallet that allows you view and monitor transactions but you cannot sign a transaction with it cause it does not contain the private keys.
A full wallet has to have the private keys and allow transaction signing.

After creating a standard wallet on Android and scanning the QR-Code from Windows Screen the wallet is created.
And it is writeable :-((((
I can send BTCs.
Not if you scan the master public key.

So again: How can I create a watch-only wallet view from an existing wallet on other device (Windows)?
Follow the instructions in the first reply again but with more careful attention to it.

873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i'm aware to do kyc on Crypto project on: August 24, 2023, 05:58:06 AM
Arent IDOs made on exchanges like Bybit, and Kucoin? Although I know some of them require identity verification (probably to make sure that no one is cheating the system) I don't believe that the data is shared with the projects.
You still cannot trust Kucoin or Bybit with your personal information. They may not share it with the projects can share it with some other third party who could use it for nefarious purposes.

The best is never KYC in any platform especially you who're live in Bangladesh where Bitcoin is illegal on there, as you said above those project are ready to share with government...
Even if you live where Bitcoin is legal you should be aware that such laws change quickly and you cannot unshare your privacy.

...I bet your budget will increase day by day and you'll be able to profit $300 in just some minutes, so what's the point of selling this tool here? I'll tell you, you are a scammer who tries to use buzzwords to lie to people and take their hard-earned money. That's all who you are!
Many people who offer to teach people how to make money from crypto trading or Forex or any other fancy word they come up with most times earn their piece from those who subscribe to their training if they are not outright scammers.

They put in so much effort creating ads on Instagram and YouTube and try to make it as catchy as possible to attract their victims.
I am also all up for deletion of obvious scams like this one which adds nothing to discussions. I am sure no one would make a case against it.

875  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do you think it's safe to use a private key hash from 12-characters on: August 23, 2023, 07:45:33 PM
I see the appeal of storing money in your brain. I have some, it's been there for years. Without checking, I'm certain it's still there. But the key is much more complicated than 12 characters.
It does not seem like that was the reason for the question the OP asked, and there should be no appeal to store sensitive information in your brain considering how fragile it is even if it is just 12 characters or even less.

We sometimes forget basic things like passwords or even patterns used to protect our phones during memory down-times. If it is not written down in multiple locations it is not secure.

876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do star players affect the odds of a match bet? on: August 22, 2023, 09:30:04 PM
If you are asking if the involvement of star players affects how much odds bookies place on a club, then it definitely does cause all factors like: who is playing at home, current form, any related match news etc affects the outcome of the match.

So the answer is yes, important players affect the odds of a match.

877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 22, 2023, 09:24:11 PM
I hope Todd Boehly's model works out for the better because we don't have any reason not to compete given what we've spent so far.
It is not looking like it will at all and the owner seems to be more of a businessman than a football fan who is passionate about the results on the pitch.

The big winners here are the smaller clubs who groom or buy the young talents for cheap and then sell them off to much bigger clubs and it only seems fitting cause there is an an obvious imbalance in available resources between clubs and this is the only way to bridge that gap and allow clubs to compete more evenly.

...
Arsenal may come to rue some of those missed chances, especially the one by Eddie which was the clearest sight of goal they had all through the first half.
Early goals help to calm the nerves and knock the opponents off their game. But as it stands things are going as well as Roy Hodgson and he can only hope for more of the same in the second half.

879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 21, 2023, 07:31:48 PM
Moisés Caicedo is actually a very fantastic player but he's definitely worth nothing near half the price Chelsea had to pay for him, and Brighton aren't looking like a team who misses him anyway, while having an heavy fortune in bank for him.
And he now has to play to that price tag cause the media is going to constantly put him under pressure to justify the money Chelsea spent on him, even if he is playing "decent" it will not be good enough.
The coach has a big job to manage the players and maintain their confidence while keeping them on their toes to perform to par.

as it looks now, Everton can be saved only by Sheffield, Wolves and Luton being worse than them, they don't want to be better
They have started some previous seasons good but ended up terribly. Maybe a bad start could turn good for a change.

880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 21, 2023, 07:25:46 PM
A decent start to the halfway point of the first half by Arsenal. Crystal Palace are sitting deep as expected and allowing the goonerz to have possession of the ball as they wait to hit on the counter with some long balls.

Declan Rice and Thoma Partey partnership looks to be the favoured pairing by Arteta and both players are beginning to get into a rhythm. It is a shame that Timber sustained that injury cause he was already proving to be a very important signing allowing Arsenal to play with an extra holding midfielder when they have the ball.

Lots of more action expected.
