861  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-29] Russian Hotels to Surprise World Cup Fans with Bitcoin Payments on: March 29, 2018, 04:06:10 PM
Are you not reading the news carefully? What does Russian hotels have to do with bitcoin? Payment system that has registration in another country pays Fiat for booking a room. Is it possible to call the reservation with bitcoin? Lol. I am still not sure whether this championship will be held in Russia. It is possible that this championship will boycott.

They are accepting Bitcoin payment via a third party (services like bitpay) and just in kaliningrad.
Btw integrating the video assistant referee (for the first time) is the best news imo in order to limit corruption and referee interference with the final score.
862  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 15-Feb-2018] on: March 28, 2018, 07:43:33 AM
Thanks for pointing out the asterisk I forgot to add extra ones on the Vivid token campaign everything should be updated now.  Still waiting for a campaign to confirm payments I might have to edit this post later today or tomorrow. Should I remove Yobit on the list or not I don't see people using their signature anymore. What do you guys think ?

I remember seeing few members using the signature but i don't have any idea regarding the payments. Afaik, hilariousandco is/was the manager so it would be better if you ask him or yobit or if i could catch someone with the signature i will ask him.

Prime Minister of Malta: “Many Cryptocurrency Companies Have Either Moved Or Making Plans to Move to Malta”

https://btcmanager.com/prime-minister-of-malta-many-cryptocurrency-companies-have-either-moved-or-making-plans-to-move-to-malta/

So, it could be not just Binance.

I was asking the question about mining before understanding that it is related to exchanges mainly and non mining stuff. Energy import dependency in Malta is > 90% mainly fuel, with a renewable energy source < 5%.
865  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk forum, hardly access in browser! on: March 27, 2018, 06:09:43 PM
I don't know if you mean that you have to wait too much to get the page loaded since you wrote this topic then yeah i am experiencing the same situation sometimes. I think many people were connecting at the same time, even switching between 2 different isp didn't come with any result..

8k broken
someone should be glad not to have said "never ever"  Wink

Someone has to remove March.
Better solution : years should start with December and end with December!

869  Other / Meta / Re: Is majority doing merit abuse here ? on: March 25, 2018, 09:15:10 PM
If we see the activity here, carefully,  a lot of members are involved in merit abuse at small scale as well. I was checking recently merited posts and came across one such case.

Profiles involved:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1100353
His merit summary : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1100353

He gave and receive merits from the profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1100122

Both the profile are registered on August 08, 2017

Other profile that may be involved

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1501634
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1501624

Both these registered on December 23, 2017

Many profiles may be involved. I am sure that if I give just one hour on this, I can point out at least 100 such more profiles.

Well, i checked the four accounts and i would say that your suspicions may be correct, however, it may be also a coincidence for the first 2 accounts +/-.
I saw someone sent 1 smerit then the other return it back in another topic in three minutes. They may be friends or alts. It is up to mods to check but i wouldn't give them a negative trust.

Considering the number of actif users in bitcointalk, trading merit is very low and easy to bust.
870  Economy / Reputation / Re: Possible Alt account.DT member needed on: March 25, 2018, 02:48:28 PM
Already mentioned by user mdayonliner and after a quick search, I think that all these accounts are related alts/friends evolving in merit trade : Allowance1219, gomei, colacat1111, juicejoyce, helloge, doudou1110, choubao0514, pigheadbig, wenzuo, hanlieuiypm9832 + nonlinearboy, zhongfeng, NOjust

More investigation is required mods and the only solution is perma banning these accounts.

Edit : all red tagged + merging accounts reported by marlboroza
871  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: March 25, 2018, 03:17:49 AM
Hello Admin , i must have 10 merit to become a Member?

Yes.
Member = 60 activity plus 10 merit.

872  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Forum Puzzle on: March 24, 2018, 09:12:01 PM
Could anyone explain how they are decoding the cryptogram? I've stared at it for 20 minutes trying to figure it out, but cannot. I tried looking at another one that was solved, and it doesn't make any sense.

Find the living thing who is four-legged then two-legged then three-legged?

The answer is (size 1) : Human : baby then adult then elderly using a cane

Well it is obvious but you may find people who cannot figure it out.
873  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 24, 2018, 06:43:38 PM
Cut the BULLSHIT, you agree because it is convenient for you because you are already a high Rank. You want to cut those shit poster, @Theymos take out the SIG for good. Let me guess you will not agree because it is not convenient for you anymore. DARE!?? Or you are afraid because your source of income will suddenly collapse. I dare @Theymos to take out SIG for 6 Months and your problem will be solve immediately. Let see if you will see more shit poster in this forum again.

No need to quote many posts...
Disabling signatures could be done to shut down shitposting but it will have also a huge impact on the forums future.
For the Merit, it could delay ranking for regular users but it will collapse farming accounts; they can cheat, trade merit but this will end soon once they run out of smerit.
For satoshi he created Bitcoin and he "disappeared", he doesn't even own his account. I respect the opinion of people sending smerit for the founder account but for me it is a waste of it since it could benefit others to rank up...
874  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: March 24, 2018, 06:31:45 PM
great explanation.

Where can we check how much we have for reaching next level member ?

If you plan to rank up, you have to learn what's merit means first.
Hint : Once you will get 10 merit you will become a member.
Search in the meta now for the rest.
875  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: Disallow Ads in Signatures on: March 24, 2018, 02:26:40 PM
So there is a rule in signatures ? This is already implemented these days ? Minimum of 50 post if you're a Jr. Member, I'm a newbie and i don't know this things. Can someone confirm this, i'm gathering information as of now. It will be very helpful for me. Thank you  Smiley

Nice. Bumping 4 years old topic.

Yea as you said for the female thing, ethereum address in 2 location and posts filled with garbage.

The user mugensiz has been creating multiple new threads about his "trading terminal" every day. Every thread he has created so far is exactly the same. And he already did that 39 times.
Just check his 'last topics started by this person' page.

Today, he already made 8 new threads in multiple boards.

And the worst of all is that his software is probably a malware. Here is a VirusTotal scan of his file:

20 / 61
https://www.virustotal.com/file/e0213460556ef5b16c9c86ff9737dcd1f9c0abf771733391581ff14a19b7371b/analysis/

Trojan-Spy.Win32.SpyEyes.beby

Shouldn't he be banned?

Autobot. Just report his post and tell mods that he has several similar posts. Or report all his posts.

880  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-23]Regulators to Close Binance in Japan. Binance Moving to EU on: March 24, 2018, 01:40:55 PM
The article itself started with the word "RUMOR". I hate when journalist make a fuss out of nothing.
Many pseudo journalist try to make the buzz by posting everything even before verifying whether the information is correct or not. The problem is that they don't get suspended or fined for their harmful action in most cases...

If there is a registration problem with Binance in Japan, then they might look for the valid registration and can go on legally in Japan itself. Japan had been welcoming to fintech firms. It is stated in the article only that the FSA has given 16 licenses to digital currency exchanges. With Binance being the topmost, it won't have a problem with license approval. They might weren't registered before, but that issue can be verywell resolved. Regarding shifting to Malta, that ain't a big deal for a cryptocurrency exchange as big as Binance. But that might halt the operations for a period and they will try to avoid it. Shifting to Malta is a worst case scenario.
That's what I am actually seeking, why they can't make a valid registration like the others?
