861  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc123 in #bitcoin today: NYT journalist involved, $50M about to be spent??? on: March 19, 2013, 02:14:40 AM
No reason to believe anything this guy says.

Anyone who publicly shows off about their money and influence can usually be safely ignored.

"I have an NYT journalist"..? Bullshit.
862  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin ever hit $1,000? on: March 19, 2013, 01:57:32 AM
That sends the cost of mining BTC up, as the supply rate does not change.

More people will be invested in ASIC, will barely be able to break even, and will want good prices for their BTC.

Yes we will hit $1000.
863  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 19, 2013, 01:45:56 AM
mtgox was fine during all this, till the price took a downturn.  now its unuseable

I think evolve noted this before.  Quite suspect.

Don't confuse cause and effect here...

Cause: people rushing to buy

Effect: mt gox lags and the price drops as buyers can't put in effective bids.
864  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC does $50 USD will it run to 80-100 or collapse back to $30 on: March 19, 2013, 01:41:37 AM
Why does everyone keep yammering on about $30? The train has left that station long ago.
865  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't daytrade... on: March 19, 2013, 12:55:28 AM
Now (the pull-back) looks like a great time to buy.

Unless you need to realise profits, selling more than a fraction of your holdings is risky and a bit pointless.

But ultimately you've got to thank the day traders. Their sold bitcoins are in my wallet now.

not that i want to see this img... but how would one even see an "embed img on the blockchain", dumb guy just polluted our sacred blockchain..... Shity dude....

thread was delete because it was redundant, here is the thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=154249.0

None of these links work.  Anyone want to fill me in on what went down here? I hope it is not what I suspect.

Zyphus and inbox (who appear to be the same poster), posted a bunch of false stories with misinformation. A few posts in this thread were deleted as a result.
867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Potential turning point in price chart events on: March 18, 2013, 12:54:15 PM
A few people have mentioned in other threads that they are constructing sell walls for the sole purpose of preventing a price hike. Whether this is di*k-waving or not, I don't know... but they think they are doing us all a favour by suppressing prices. I've seen a few attempted break-outs by the bulls. Eventually the capital in the sell walls will be gone.

At least it's easy to keep buying these days...
868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish Ascending Triangle Chart Pattern on: March 18, 2013, 12:02:01 PM
The triangles correspond to two completely unrelated events.

Fundamentally you're looking at two strong rebounds followed by a calm market that is trying to break through but is held back by an artificially manipulated selling wall.

"Serious Correction"? there's nothing magic about a triangle; you can't divorce the charts from the fundamentals.

There won't be a big sell-off. I'm still expecting a breakthrough to $50 once the "sell-wallers" realise that -- actually -- a manipulated market is far less appealing to investors than a naturally volatile one.
869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Potential turning point in price chart events on: March 18, 2013, 10:40:43 AM
Agree. A lot of discussions along these lines already in the speculation sub-forum.

The demand for btc is very strong. The chain fork occurring right after an all-time high just provided a great opportunity for more to buy in.

$ is about to drop further. :-)
870  Economy / Goods / Re: [SALE]: Casascius 1 BTC Coin only BTC 1.234 incl. worldwide shipping on: March 18, 2013, 08:14:40 AM
Thanks, I'm keen to buy, but it's a birthday present, so I'll have to think about it...

871  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: About the Bitcoin trading platform website source code on: March 18, 2013, 06:53:58 AM
5,I have registered the domain name (such as coinlab.cn bitmit.cn bitinstant.cn),These domain names are very suitable for the bitcoin trading platform operating in china.
that's called cybersquatting, and it's illegal.

Which Chinese law does it violate?

in china the domain names  register is legal,as the free rights.

Hi,

I'm in China and was considering doing the same thing... glad to see you are proceeding. I often visit your site.

On your above point, you want people to trust you. Copying other businesses' names is a really scummy thing to do. Yes, it's not illegal in China, and lots of companies do it. But that doesn't make it right. Your customers are web-savvy and won't like you copying names or likenesses.

Stand on your own two feet and show the world you can compete properly, not on the shoulders of others.

872  Economy / Goods / Re: [SALE]: Casascius 1 BTC Coin only BTC 1.234 incl. worldwide shipping on: March 18, 2013, 06:03:07 AM
Hi,

I'd be interested, sounds good... but, a few questions:

- Why are these so much cheaper than the casascius website? What's your relationship there?
- Can you do any gift wrapping? If not, what does the package look like?
873  Other / Meta / Re: WARNING! Moderator selective censoring of posts. on: March 18, 2013, 04:54:07 AM
Zyphus, just so you know -- I reported your original post to a moderator, as it was a lie.

The aim wasn't censorship, it was because you were trying to spread panic with lies.

Check out the rules for that forum -- anything goes, apart from that.

874  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 18, 2013, 04:11:51 AM
you can't and I would not be able to tell either, I mean why do we believe ANYTHING people say wether they are senior members or junior etc... Speculation is best done alone but anybody can tell you that, you have to do the research yourself. One thing is clear tho, China has been having spikes in some nodes for the past few weeks, there is no doubt that by this point there are people in china holding a good chunk of coin http://www.bitcointrading.com/forum/talk-bitcoin/big-bitcoin-mining-spike-from-china/

This is just random fear-mongering.

Right now, people in China will buy bitcoins on Mt Gox at any price, because they can reliably sell them in China for a profit. If there are any locals looking to dump coins, they sure as hell won't do it on Gox, when they can make a much higher margin elsewhere.

BitCoin is just beginning to get traction now in China, beginning to make a big splash on Weibo. It is only natural that there is more interest.

Of course there are occasional spikes -- the bloody ASICs are being built here. People are beginning to have a vested interest in the Bitcoin economy.

All of these three facts are *good* things, *positive* signs.

Look, you may have made some sort of ridiculous short gamble somewhere, but your first lesson will be sucking it up and moving on.
875  Economy / Speculation / Re: DO PANIC! on: March 18, 2013, 03:55:36 AM
Im sorry to hear that, check out whats goin on in speculation right now... substantial chunk of coin is getting sold tonight it seems, not sure tho, they moved or deleted the original topic : /

You mean, you posted some lies and fabricated links?

Stop it!
876  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 18, 2013, 03:54:47 AM
haters gonna speculate. I dont make shit from buying Im horrible @ trading so all my coin (profit) comes from mining. got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If you've got nothing to lose, stop fabricating stories. I read the Chinese sites too, so you'll have to do better than that.
877  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 18, 2013, 03:49:59 AM
not really, I bought in 4 days ago, just sold everything I had 15 minutes ago, not worth the risk even if these guys are lying about it. Like I said I will be asleep when (if) it does get dumped.

Yep, that's the way to make money.  Roll Eyes
878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 18, 2013, 03:48:15 AM
Z, https://btcchina.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=147/=truebitcoinity/private was there about 5 minutes ago, I'm trying to see what happened to it : /

Zyphus, I'm a member on that site, and that link is fabricated -- a phpBB link with crap appended.

Random asinine speculation with no basis seems to be fine here, but I'm pretty sure that outright lies are disallowed.
879  Economy / Speculation / Re: DO PANIC! on: March 18, 2013, 03:45:02 AM

- Ultra-weak hands (entry in 2013, bought too much and/or on margin, don't understand/believe BTC) are so few, and they don't hold much. They will shed the coins in a few weeks, hopefully don't lose too much.

If people bought in recently, at relative highs (and it looks like a great many have done), why would they be weak hands? Newbies != idiots. If you buy in high, you sure as hell don't sell low. I don't think you give people enough credit.

880  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does the price appear to be so stable lately? on: March 17, 2013, 02:54:54 PM
I don't think it will be stable for more than another week or two. Looking at whats happening in Cyprus just now I think there might be a few people starting to think about moving there bank deposits somewhere the banks can't touch it. Might break up through $50 sooner than i thought.

^This. Money inbound to Mt Gox.
