We have some news for you.

We have been saving this one for a nice sunny Friday (at least where we are ). This is the recording of Ulf Wiger's presentation from the Erlang Meetup in London. He discussed the applicability of Erlang for blockchain development - strengths and weaknesses.

Here is some information about Ulf:

Ulf became one of the first commercial users of Erlang when he bought a license in 1993. In 1996, he joined Ericsson and became Chief Designer of the AXD 301 development, arguably the most complex system ever built in Erlang. In recent years, Ulf has been involved in products based on the AXD 301 architecture, and has been an active member of the Open Source Erlang community. In February 2009 he became CTO of Erlang Solutions. He is currently working on aeternity.

Trivia: There was also a live streaming of Ulf's presentation in Facebook. Interestingly, that was "loved" by Ethereum's official Facebook account.

On another note: there are AE scams still happening in Telegram. BEWARE Here is an extract from a dialogue between one of æternity's community managers - the lovable Vanessa - and a fake account impersonating our precious Marion. Needless to say, we will never organize such affiliate programs.

We are aiming to establish æternity's presence in Africa. We are confident that blockchain technology could have a major impact there. As a first step in that direction, part of the team will attend the World Blockchain Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. We are actually silver sponsors of the event. You can find out more about it here.

Hello once again! (such an eventful day today)

We are happy to share æternity's weekly update. The dev team managed to make significant improvements to the sync protocol and started work on state channels. Bitcoin-NG is being considered as an alternative consensus mechanism, allowing for faster block times and thus more user-friendliness.

1. The coin supply depends on the mining block reward which has not been set yet. The number of tokens currently in existence is: 233,020,472 AE

2. There are two kinds of TX speed in æternity: on-chain and off-chain. Regarding on-chain, new blocks should be found in about 15 secs. Off-chain -> the speed of transactions is limited by the bandwidth between peers (connection speed).

The new æpps update has been published! The æpps team worked hard to finalize two fundamental resources for the æternity æpps ecosystem: aepps.com and dev.aepps.com. They are (quite obviously) created to serve the need of two different types of users: consumers (since we used "users" just before ) and developers.
