861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] LTC pump on: June 26, 2013, 09:14:45 PM
anyone with a Vendetta mask avatar is clearly a hacker and up to no good.  Wink

As you can see I'm not responding to every stupid post. Even with your 'Wink', your comment is very inappropriate. You are not the first person in this thread who is calling me a 'hacker'. I'm not here to educate people but sometimes it seems to be necessary to bring some light in here.

You guys apparently have no idea what a hacker is. Do your research. People like RSM, Appelbaum and Satoshy are hackers and so am I Smiley. Nothing wrong with being a hacker. What you mean is called a cracker. DDoS against others to do any harm can be associated with 'crackers' but related to 'anonymous' it's much more a simple form of any online protest and mostly against authorities driving the NWO agenda 21 further on. These DDoS attacks against any crypto currency service (especially exchanges) are much more likely initiated by 'big brother' themselves.

So give me at lest one plausible reason why I should be involved in this.

Btw: If you would know me you would know that I'm a bitcoin and litecoin enthusiast and don't have any intention in hurting them (short- and long-term). The reason for the pump we are trying to initiate is just to have a higher ltc prize as soon as Mt.Gox is starting with their tradings. Mt.Gox will drive the prize up to $10 or even more anyway what likely leads into a huge dump by some 'early' adopters. New adopters will be scared away 'again' like it was the case on bitcoins prize correction after the hype caused by mainstream media and Mt.Goxes rush issues. I would like to see a stabilized ltc prize higher than $10 but that seems to be very unlikely in the short-term anyway and possible in the long-term only.

might want to re-calibrate your sarcasm detector hacker.

They got hacked and all the big wallets emptied who shared their btc-e username and balance here earlier? Shocked

Troll alert once again? Don't be silly. I hope I don't have to explain why your concern is way out of anything real. Looks like they got DDoSed (once again), but it's just a guess: We don't know why btc-e is down for maintenance either right now. Don't panic guys. I think they will be up again very soon or at least letting us know what's going on (by twitter or this board here) sooner or later.

863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] LTC pump on: June 26, 2013, 06:12:44 PM
Anyone with decent amount of money can make a pump. And benefit from it and from its announcement. Why do you suppose the guy that proposed this is a hacker?
Because of what he removed from the original post:

Quote
PM me with the following data:
 - btc-e username
 - the amount of BTC and/or USD you are able to invest (and is already sitting in your btc-e account)
 - preferred days and times in UTC (p.e. Mon-Fri from 09:00 to 11:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00)

Btc-e down?

Yeah, there's an announcement on the page saying they're attempting maintenance on the server to get it back up.

They got hacked and all the big wallets emptied who shared their btc-e username and balance here earlier? Shocked

oh that would be rich!

Could you explain why you find it so "stupid" ?

1. it is centralized.  one central "bank" of coins if you will will control how they are distributed.
2. no miners, no network, no transactions are processed except for the developer who is the same as the "bank" more centralization
3.  centralization means easier for governments to shut it down, regulate it because there is a country of origin.

Also, this is kind of similar to the way ripple are dispatch, isn't it ?

correct and I believe that ripple flies in the face of what cryptocurrencies are meant to be.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] LTC pump on: June 26, 2013, 08:57:47 AM
how did the pump go?  I can't tell from the LTC price on Btc-e
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had 40MH to mine alt coins... How would you mine them? on: June 26, 2013, 12:16:25 AM
If you had 40MH to mine alt coins... How would you mine them?

- Solo mining
- Your own pool
- Pool PPS
- Pool PPLS

Or any other option...?

depends on the size of the network you are trying to mine and what you are mining for, speculation, investment, cash flow?

but with 40MHs you would be good to solo mine.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "ASIC- Proof" on: June 25, 2013, 10:41:27 PM
The only ASIC resistant crypto is one that doesn't use "mining" or hashing algorithms as a POW and minting.....which is currently only ours (or Ripple of course).

That said, you are indeed correct in your statement that any crypto that uses a hashcash based POW algo can and will indeed be ASIC broken when the return on investment is good enough.

I"m just happy that the current generation of cryptos are abacus resistant.  Otherwise we would be doomed.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] LTC pump on: June 25, 2013, 09:48:52 PM
just remember that the bigger the pump the bigger the dump.  Its classic free markets.  Boom and bust cycles.  If you try to pump it too far too fast you could damage the long term price stability of the coin.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] TradeCoin (TDC) Pre-Release Thread on: June 25, 2013, 09:37:11 PM
wow this is the stupidest coin idea to date.  When I read the OP I thought it was a joke.  But now I realize you are being serious with this idea.

Just an experiment, calm down

I can experiment too.  Let me test to see if Earth's atmosphere is breathable by humans.... hmmmm...  yep.  Experiment was successful.

Congratulations on the groundbreaking discovery. You may need to run multiple trials to ensure reliable data though.

You get my point don't you?

872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is litecoin hyped so much when it doesn't add any value over bitcoin? on: June 25, 2013, 12:28:34 PM
basically bitcoin litecoin is only valued by all those who think they missed the fiat currency btc train.

so yeah they must keep pumping it along.

873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIC] Sifcoin - inflation fork on: June 24, 2013, 01:18:10 AM
skipping this one, too many coins already which are better (atleast in announcing & releasing)

This is relatively innovative coin with 6 crypto-algoritms (Blake, BMW, Groestl, JH, Keccak, Skein) + block reward depending on difficulty.
CPU-only at this time.
No premine.
That is actually what a lot of people waited for.

why, what was the point if 6 algorithms, why not 7 or 5.  What is your purpose other than adding complexity to a solution that is already exists (scrypt)?
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITBAR Asic PROJECT "included inside each BitBar USB wallet drive" on: June 24, 2013, 01:08:45 AM
Bump. Looking for updates.

update: it is a scam.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solution to new coin flood on: June 24, 2013, 01:05:14 AM
Ok so every1 is complaining about new coins, put your hasher where your mouth is, simply set up a pool, have miners point to it, and by some sort of vote, decide which of the crapcoins to 51% attack, it would kill them before they start and crapcoin makers wouldnt release them if they know they wll be 51% attacked

you sir are an idiot and do not understand what a 51% attack is supposed to do.  51% attacking a coin that is not even exchanged doesn't matter for squat and the market value for these coins is paltry.  All you will do is slow transactions down for people and all the while your band of misfits has redirected hashing power that could have been spent mining more reputable currencies.

You won't stop the flood of new cryptocurrencies.  Best thing to do is ignore then and they will go away.
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin-e.com WARNING - !!! Possible SCAM or broken site... not looking good on: June 24, 2013, 01:00:31 AM
always wait for version 3 of any product.  Cheesy
877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Powercoin 51% Attack on: June 21, 2013, 11:52:03 AM
No one should be blaming Paul or anyone else at Crypsty, it is the individual in China who thought it would be funny to fuck with people's lives. He is attacking not only PowerCoin but the whole crypto community and I would hate to see someone else's work fall victim to this guys power trips since he obviously lacks it in his own life.

What you on about lol? Destroying these shitcoins one by one is the only way to stop this altcoin-pandemic. We can't have 65 new coins popping up every day stealing money from unsuspecting gold diggers. These coins are nothing but a scam.
They come out of nowhere and their prices shoot sky high, so that the ones who jumped on early can trade them in for actually valuable currencies and then they die, and everyone stupid enough to invest in it gets nothing.

It's happened too many times to count now, so I welcome this 51% attack, and hope there is many, many more to come.

idiot.  you don't realize what you are asking for and how much damage it will do to crytos and LTC specifically.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: more crapcoins equals more money for LITECOIN miners!! on: June 21, 2013, 08:16:23 AM
Haters, did you know crapcoins, could actually be helping you mine more litecoins?

Let me know if my theory is correct Grin

heres how: Because there is a restriction on the amount of coins produced, you need as few people as possible to mine the same coin as you. if half the people are mining these "crapcoins" and the other half are mining LITECOINS it means its easier for you to make money mining litecoins. if these half wernt mining the "crapcoins" then they will be mining litecoins and your earnings are halved, as the difficulty will be twice what it is now.

The other side of the argument is that bitcoins are wasted speculating on crapcoins and not driving up the price of LTC.

Also, I think all altcoins are pushing around 3-4 GHs, which would be a relatively small increase in litecoin difficulty.

Its between 6-7 GHs

can you guess why my specifications will be.
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DGC][FBD] Free Bank of Digitalcoin ~ Risk Averse DGC Investments on: June 20, 2013, 01:41:53 PM

Holy shit, that's brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

I don't know what kind of crazy dream lead you and your team to this idea, but it completely revolutionizes the concept of crypto banking. There is no risk to anyone involved. No fees are necessary unless you are trying to make a profit, and it doesn't sound like you are. Absolutely genius. I assume there will be a built in escrow service to prevent front-end fraud in the form of BTC, LTC, or USD deposits.

If you need a few thousand DGC to get the ball rolling, hit me up. I don't have a huge volume, but I'd be more than happy to help out with this project.

Its called hedging and its common in old financial markets and physical mineral miners use it to reduce their expose to downside risk in price.
