8621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China's Central Bank Declares ICO Illegal on: September 05, 2017, 08:42:27 AM
very terrible if ico is forbidden in china,
and I think maybe people there will protest and do not want to stay in silence

Protests in China? Well, if you have a strong death wish...

The Chinese will swallow this as they have swallowed other, bitter pills before. And they will find a way to spend their excess money somewhere else for now, until the dust has settled.

Yes, I agreed. Sarcasm you must be forgotten that China is a communism country. There will be no protest at all, Chinese citizen will take it, obey any rules made by their government. I tell you what, you can't visit facebook in China and a lot other websites, have you even seen a protest about it?
As far as I know, in China a lot of things are formally forbidden but nobody is actually charged or somehow else punished for that. It holds for facebook, for example. I guess now we just see the big panic, but maybe Chinese will make their icos and use cryptos anyway a bit after this official declare of them being illegal.
8622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dump? on: September 04, 2017, 09:41:20 AM
Its because of Chinese ICO regulations. Theyve banned it at this point (the banks).
This surely explains NEO and ADX being down so strong but not btc and others. From time to time huge dumps happen and provide a good opportunity to buy some coins. I know it's a tough time when you see all your investments costing a lot less than a few days ago but this will change and eventually you'll see 'em all green again. Well, perhaps not the Chinese ones and icos which are already launched on Neo. I made a stupid mistake of listening to what others were saying. I bought adx hoping for the big pump to occur in September and lost 30% of invested money already.
8623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All china ICO platform closed the ICO project due to the Regulatory policies on: September 04, 2017, 09:24:04 AM
Yes, I've seen the news about icos banned as well. I guess that's the main reason why NEO is going extremely down right now. Gosh, I guess a lot of people are losing their money on it now. What do you guys think: will non-Chinese people make a sufficient amount of icos on NEO for it to keep going? Will we see NEO great again? Or is it the end and time to sell everything when the price is still $20?
8624  Economy / Speculation / Re: the likelihood that bitcoin will see a correction at 5000$ on: September 04, 2017, 09:09:03 AM
Well, I honestly don't understand what is meant by the correction even thought I read all the posts in this thread. Correct price? It doesn't make sense to me, for there's no stable true price in cryptos. Correction as an improvement? I can't see any logic here as well, for there are no upcoming development projects, especially those which would be related to the price. I think we'll see $5k once, now is just a time of a temporary dump.
8625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is officially banned in China !!! on: September 04, 2017, 08:44:24 AM
My God! This is very bad for NEO investors, including me! We thought that neo is the Chinese ethereum on which it's easy to build icos. That must've made this coin very popular and expensive! Now, as China banned icos, nobody will actually use neo. I mean, sure programming languages are a big advantage of neo above eth, but that's not enough to beat it if Chinese don't launch icos!
8626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: AdEx (ADX) partners with NEO! on: September 03, 2017, 10:31:27 AM
Adex is a very good buy right now. It is very cheap because of the red marks of almost all alts right now. Great time for buying. ADX is one of those coins that I am following. From cents-worth to more than a dollar even if it is a very young coin and was just accepted by bittrex last July.
Bittrex accepted Adex in July this year not last year. I think this market will definitely grow highly because Adex receives a lot of new cooperation in this market, especially NEO market is being attracted by many Chinese investors.
I hope you guys are right. I listened to people on the forum saying it will pump soon, bought the coins for dollar and something and since then the price has been slowly going down! I'm really disappointed about it right now. I sold lgd with a small loss in hope that adx will help me to get the money back and now I lost some on it as well. Not even mentioning goddamn NEO which I bought for $35 or so... I guess Chinese government's intolerance with icos is causing great harm on these currencies.
8627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best crypto to buy now? on: September 03, 2017, 10:20:47 AM
Hi - Newbie here..I would like to put down 1000 USD next week.. What would your advice be to me?
You have to understand that people make mistakes here a lot. Why? Because nobody really knows what coins will score high. These are all just guesses primarily based on price charts, announcements and advertisements. You should go on coinmarketcap.com and decide for yourself. I think now is great time to buy IOTA, I just bought some yesterday, but I wouldn't risk too much money on such a project. Btc is really expensive but it's true it always grows in price eventually, so maybe most of people in this thread are right when they advice you to invest in it.
8628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin trading with low budget on: September 03, 2017, 10:09:08 AM
Lisk/Stratis are good projects to look at.
Stratis is a bullshit project to look at. I went through their official presentation and you know what? They just keep explaining things like decentralization and blockchain there, just as if there was no bitcoin before them and no other clones of it as well. The only new thing they offer is proof of stake but I believe this is also a feature of some alts already.
My opinion you can pick Waves , Ethereum , Litecoin and some Dogecoin , these Altcoin the price growing slow but sure.

Doge??? Are you sure?
I'm totally sure about doge. It is one of the good and old ones and the coin that's actually used by lots of people every day which is not true about most of coins out there.
8629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin on: September 03, 2017, 10:01:14 AM
Litecoin seems to be gaining ground on being the 4th largest marketcap behind ripple. I think that litecoin could outgrow Ripple and Bitcoin cash at the end of the year with a 10 Billion dollar marketcap.

I totally agree.
I was playing on Litecoin's all summer, but as by the law the price raised after I sold my coins by 52$ price  Angry Honestly, I didn't hear any big news about Litecoin for a long time. That was a big surprise to see this morning 92$ price really. But now I see that Litecoin depends from Bitcoin and currently they both are falling.
Litecoin is the currency in whose success I'm sure more than in anything else. I bought it for $20 and will hold till the price reaches $1k or so. I know ltc isn't really a big step forward after btc but at least people are working on it and the coin has been around and trusted for a very long time. Moreover, no big problems like hacks and forks with eth never happened with ltc, so it's quite stable. It was and always will be somewhere around btc.
8630  Economy / Economics / Re: Being a Smart Person or Strategic on: September 03, 2017, 09:47:40 AM
Well for me smart person is better than a strategic person, Because we all know that smart can easily learn how to be strategic. So for me smart is better.
I think it's harder than that. Sometimes one has to be smart enough to realize there's no use in strategy as well. For example, in gambling (especially, in dice) strategy (martingale) is likely to make you lose what you had, whereas being smart enough not to care about gambling with a strategy might be a savior. On the other hand, I'm sure there are situations when strategy is more important. For instance, one can be smart to buy a perspective currency but lack strategy to decide when to finally sell it and make real profit.
8631  Economy / Economics / Re: No "In God We Trust" to Trust: Cryptocurrency Trend to Grow on: September 03, 2017, 09:34:36 AM
Bitcoin is too small and why would elites panic from mire rich people?
People are getting rich and poor on a daily basis.
I think the one panicking us OP. Tongue
You are not right. Financial analysts don't think about capitalization. They study market trends. They have something to fear. We see a geometric progression of growth of bitcoin prices. The higher the price the faster will be the outflow of capital from the stock market and the Forex market. It may be a year or two to destroy the economies of many countries.
Furthermore, if cryptos once crush - this is going to be the biggest problem of all. People used to buy papers or get credits to live. Eventually, such events led to huge economic crisis. I mean, what if once people stop trusting cryptos and realize the absence of value in them? This is a question worth billions of dollars!
Bitcoin is even going to surpass the predictions of top analyst who are predicting it to reach 5k before this few months run out, but I wont be surprised if the coins get to 5k in two months or less since bitcoin is a super booster
Totally, we've seen it being $4700 already. God, as coinmarketcap shows, the price even reached $4900 yesterday morning UTC.
8632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reasons for the Monero ($XMR) price spike: trading contests? on: September 01, 2017, 08:52:50 AM
I bought some monero but sold most of it due to the pump. Perhaps I should buy more again. But, actually, I don't like investing is expensive coins. You have to spend a lot of money for the price change to make a difference. And apart from anonymity Monero doesn't offer anything new anyway, so I guess it is meant to be a coin for trading.
I prefer coins under $25. Investments in giants don't work out very well for me. I hold lisk, adx and neo. Hope to see them pump hard till the end of September.
8633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does the name of a Cryptocurrency determine its growth ? on: September 01, 2017, 08:27:58 AM
A good Name is obvious important. People spend alot of time thinking for a good and catchy name . The name usually should describe about the product making it more attractive to investors
I agree, it is important indeed. I've been reading a book "Subliminal" by L.Mlodinow and found out there about some psychological experiments which made it clear that people care about the names a lot more than they think. For a name to be good is has to be simple. I mean, one must be able to easily pronounce it. Waves and bitcoin are good examples. Furthermore, it is better for the name to be a bit sophisitcated as well, so that we don't think it is something too simple. Ethereum is perfect because it is easy to pronounce + it provides us various connotations.
8634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats ETH value based on on: September 01, 2017, 08:17:56 AM
It is obvious that it's about demand and offer. However, I believe nobody in this thread specified which factors make people want eth and thus create the demand. Even though new eth is likely to appear forever, there's limited amount per certain period of time which can appear. This makes the coin deflationary in a way and thus limits the supply. ETH platform is really cool and reliable to launch icos on + makes smart contracts possible. These two factors create the main demand.
8635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STRATIS - Only Great Things Ahead on: September 01, 2017, 07:59:56 AM
I heard people say strat will be the main eth competitor. I think NEO is closer to that even though it keeps falling. Does this coin really offer anything nice and unique? As I understand this coin has both pow and pos which sounds a bit interesting. And yet after looking at stratis technical info on their website I can say that I don't see anything special about this coin. I guess it might be good for trading but not as a long-term investment.
8636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burger King in cryptocurrency on: September 01, 2017, 07:46:33 AM
Will it be called Proof Of Woppers ?

Ye, ye, and new sight of PoW. Wait for PoS from McDonalds and master nodes from Starbacks. Why not? New economy model
Yeah, that's funny. I think it is actually not very good that more coins are created. I mean, I understand when Estonia plans to launch national cryptocurrency and there are talks about such things for Ukraine as well. And yet I think that in case of private business it would be easier and better to accept one of the established and famous coins. There are so many of them already! I'm sure these new ones don't offer anything new!
8637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - The gamechanger? on: August 31, 2017, 12:34:46 PM
The coin is not listed on many exchanges because of the udnerlying technology that needs to be implemented. It is easier to add Tokens that run already existing blockchains. It has been announced by the IOTA team that more exchanges are comming soon.
I think it is quite a task for exchanges to adapt to handling the tangle network, I saw recently on slack that Bitpanda will be adding IOTA but not too sure of when.  IOTA is exciting.
Yes, IOTA is a true major innovation in the world of cryptocurrency. No fees, graph decentralization and instant transactions. And yet, because of it being so different from others, I believe it truly faces problems. Exchangers are not adding it a lot, probably because of technology differences, just like you said. Add to that the issues with wallets showing zero balance. IOTA needs time to be acknowledged and improved.
8638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have 250 ETH, Hold or SELL? on: August 31, 2017, 12:14:20 PM
Hold 220, sell 30 for fiat. I'm not sure if it's a big money for you but if it is - why not to enjoy your life and have some wonderful trip or something like that? Yes, eth is likely to rise in the future. If you know what you need this money for specifically (like buying a cool car/flat) then hold everything. If you are just happy to have a lot of money - sell at least some of it for everything not to be worthless.
8639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I buy NEO now and keep it till its rise? on: August 31, 2017, 11:17:17 AM
You should learn more about the Chinese market. to avoid the worst possible risks to you

Yes. It is super difficult to understand this coin if you don't live in China and don't know situation in county.
There is bad news that government in China wants to ban all ICO. So it quite dangerous now to invest in NEO.
You can try, but 10-30% percentages of your budget.

I hope China is not that stupid to dump its own inventions and thus the economy and status of this country. I certainly hope that NEO will rise just as people predicted. I bought it for $37 or so, now it's a bit down but I believe NEO will do just fine in competing with ETH. They have ICOs and a big conference is September if I'm not mistaken. And the coin itself certainly has its advantages upon ETH is the programming languages and leadership of its creator.
8640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best 50 Coins To Hold 3 Years on: August 31, 2017, 11:06:29 AM
OP, I think you should buy some dash, doge, byteball, monero, ethereum, iota and litecoin if you want a long-term profit.
Guys, tell me why to hold waves? Share your reasons.  Cool
As you probably already know, waves offers the creation of specific tokens adjusted to one's private business sphere. This idea is sort of promising, because even when icos are built on some platforms like neo or eth, the price of these two grows. If people will create their own tokens which is easier and safer than cryptocurrencies, the price will surely go up.
