8641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: trading altcoins with BTC "OR" USDT ! on: September 10, 2017, 09:27:58 AM
HEY ,
i have noticed that i'd make more money if i trade altcoin with USDT as it's stable and equivalent to usd ,so i can get my calculations .on the other hand trading with btc isn't that much profitable or sometimes not profitable at all if btc price gone down , so why most people trade with btc !
i think i'm missing something .

I can see where you are coming from. For me, I trade with BTC because its offer the most trading pairs in the trading platform that I am using. But sometimes, I switch to USDT when BTC price is going down.

so it's only because of trading volume !
It's not just the trading volume. I use btc because I simply always have some and it's easy to send them on some exchanger like bittrex and start trading. As for dollars, I'm not living in the USA, so this is a currency which has to be converted to the local currency and actually the rates are not very nice right now. Moreover, I don't have any debit card with dollars, so it's rather difficult to send them on an exchanger. And to this one last thing should be added: yes, bitcoin is currently dropping, but in general it is always growing.
8642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you hold your coins? on: September 10, 2017, 09:13:08 AM
Hi guys! if you trade,  how long do you hold your coins?. How would you know if you have to let go or sell you coins or still have to keep it?.

It is upto the holder to which extent he wanted the profit and how much value the coin project is. Because some coin projects are very longterm so they have to be holded for long if you want high returns if not 2 or 3x is always possible on almost all coins.
That's what I thought before I tried trading short-term. Maybe it is just the case with me and doesn't hold as a general rule but, as my long-term investments turned our to be rather successful and giving 4x-6x profit, my attempts to make fast profits are not doing well and for now I lost about 15% of the invested money. Perhaps it was just a bad timing but after the big pumps all the coins suddenly started (and that still continues) to drop. So, I guess making 2x profit is not as easy as you maintain it is.
8643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The great ETH Exodus on: September 10, 2017, 09:00:27 AM
Well it's finally here, the little pumps are nothing more than to keep the exiters price up. The ATH will never be hit again and I expect in 6 months for the price to be about 25% of what it is now.

Which is where it was about 6 months ago.  Shorters, on your mark!  LOL @ angry bag holders on polo  Cheesy

That seems true. If there were no ico bans in China I guess we could've safely named neo as the coin in which the money will flow. Unfortunately, without Chinese support I believe it cannot compete with ethereum anymore. I think that money will stay in eth as long as new problems (like the need to switch to pos which is always there somewhere awaiting for us) don't appear on the scene. The only other option that comes to my mind is Waves, because it is also rather useful for icos to be built on.
8644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone heard of Crypto Tickets ? on: September 10, 2017, 08:48:45 AM
Where have you heard about the project if there's no info on the internet about it? When I searched for crypto tickets I only got information on TIX (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tickets/) and some strange company which is not new as well (http://www.cryptotickets.com/company.html).
What exactly is this project about? I can't find a single link on it. And, as marketing is among the most important factors of success, I guess this project is not worth our time anyway.

8646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am looking for a project to invest in on: September 08, 2017, 07:58:44 AM
Ok, so I've made quite a lot of money during the last year and am looking for good projects to put this money to good use. Basically what I am looking for is the following, please get back to me if you know any project that match this criteria:

1. Market cap below 200k USD.
2. Very small or no premine.
3. Active developer that is very committed to the project.
4. Any kind of innovation or feature that makes this project unique.

I will off course do my own research before deciding whether to invest or no but my involvement in the project will basically mean that the price will increase at least 2x from current levels.
My God, why do you need such a low marketcap? You question made me look at the pages on coinmarketcap which I never open! I'm on the third or fourth page and there's still nothing less that 1 million dollars. Okay, I suggest to look at applecoin. It has $13k marketcap and $140k trading volume which is rather impressive! It is made for IOS purchases if I'm not mistaken.
I would recommend to invest in coins with such low marketcaps anyway.
8647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 alt coin list! on: September 08, 2017, 07:45:29 AM
Hello Guys,
Where from I can get the list serial one by one by Ranking alt coin list?

I want to know more about alt coin and about this present, past & future.

Thank you all
Coinmarketcap is a great website but even there you can see different lists of coins depending on what you are interested in. The first and main list is related to market capitalization, but you can also sort coins by price, number of coins or volume. The last option might be a big use for traders. I think it's one of the most important things to know whether the coin you plan to trade is traded by others.
8648  Economy / Economics / Re: 1Bitcoin as a gift from someone on: September 08, 2017, 07:32:37 AM
i will sell some, and give something back to someone who give me, that is what called take and give, and save the rest then wait for the price to rise again. i think that is good thing to do
It truly is a wise decision. It was nice of you mentioning giving some of it back IMO. I guess $4500 is the kind of money which is a lot to simply spend it on life and too small to make a real difference (to buy a flat, for example). That's why I would rather hold my btc for the better times and cash some whenever it will really be needed or if the price reaches $45k. For that price one can buy a modest two-room flat in a good district in the capital of my country.
8649  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe governments can stop bitcoin after all on: September 08, 2017, 07:20:53 AM
They dont have to completely stop bitcoin to kill it.

Introduce a new law where anyone caught using bitcoin gets 20 years in jail and watch the userbase shrink overnight and the price plumet as the majority dump.

You would always get the few that continue to use but but not enough people to maintain current price point.

Nah, most of developed countries are rather liberal and democratic. Such a law will cause major protests of people as well as huge companies that can lose their money due to such actions. Those countries which will perform such actions will simply be crossed out of the most influential ones. I think btc as well as other coins are safe.
But if you think about bitcoin it will help the country's economy, why would they do it by law, it's sad to see if that day is coming. Better in other countries bitcoin is legal and they can use it everyday.

Who cares about the economy exactly? maybe the citizens but the people on the top of the top are literally making money out of thin air, as long as they control the currency, they really don't care but when you offer something decentralized that cannot be controlled by them, then you become a threat.
If these people on top are smart and really want to get lots of money, they probably sell fiat and buy btc for it as well and they won't do something that may hurt them.
8650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Transaction fee on: September 08, 2017, 07:03:58 AM
which wallet is better wallet as send fee low.
I meaning that transaction fee low.
Coinbase wallet is so much high transaction fee.
0.001 btc. its so much.
So little fee wallet needed
You can use any wallet that allows custom fees and send as low as you want. For ease of use you can use blockchain.info wallet, last I saw the min recommend was 5 sat/byte! that's good.
Well, theoretically you truly can customize the fees and make them as low as you want, but in fact there is some certain minimum for a regular fee and when lots of people perform transactions this minimum can be rather high. Of course it is not likely to be 0.001, though. But something like 0.0007 is likely to be seen, especially if you transfer small amounts of money.
8651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some government ban bitcoin? on: September 08, 2017, 06:53:11 AM
The only countries that have banned Bitcoin are Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador & Kyrgyzstan. Do you live in one of these countries? If not, what's your worry?

HERE is more detail on the legality of Bitcoin by country.

As long as countries can still collect taxes off the gains made from bitcoin investments they'll be keen to let it live in the fringe.

What we should be worried about is the long reach of law of some countries to indict people for fraud when that country doesn't have any jurisdiction over where the crime occurred. Not to say that criminals shouldn't be pursued, only that they should be pursued by the authorities that reign over the jurisdiction.
Yes, that's right. Bitcoin is mostly just out of the law. In my country it is out of the law as well, but we have some law saying that all kinds of money which are not registered in proper way and approved by some institution are illegal. That's why we even had some arrests of miners, but in general nobody cares  about btc here.

The main reason why the bitcoin is banned in some countries is because governments in some countries that the bitcoin have a disadvantages if they will legalize it. For them, bitcoin has bad effects.
That's not true. Countries with bad economic situation and high level of poverty could've benefited from btc. They could gather taxes etc in btc and thus become one of those big holders that will eventually get really rich because of it.
8652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin on: September 07, 2017, 08:17:32 AM
Day by Day dogecoin decreases.
What's the matter?

is any reason?
coinmarketcap 0.00000043 btc per doge

there are hundreds of topics about this and the reasons have been repeated a lot of times. Doge is one of those dying coins. it started as a joke coin and it caught on because the community liked the "joke" and because it was early days and there weren't that many altcoins to choose from anyways.

but because Doge is not really doing anything special + it has a gigantic supply of multi billions of coins + it has no cap and will increase day by day to infinity = this coin will remain like this, always falling and going down in price.

sometimes you see a small come back or a pump but they never last and it doesn't mean Doge is not dead.
Yes, doge doesn't offer the things other coin do. Yet somehow lots of people really got used to it and it is one of the most used cryptocurrencies in the world. Add to this the fact that doge is fast, secure and has very cheap transactions. This means that it does have a future even though there are better coins and it has this unlimited supply problem. Let's look at a coin which is worse than a lot of others and is still #1. I'm talking about unstable not flexible expensive btc which doesn't even allow to perform smart contracts. Yet it is and will be the best for a long time.
8653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $10k US to invest, portfolio advice? on: September 07, 2017, 08:01:06 AM
I am not good at short-term investments but as long-term (6 months+) I would suggest litecoin (still not as expensive as it can be) - 10%, IOTA (has big chances to become worth 10-50 times as mush) - 30%, dogecoin (it's always been around, good and underestimated coin) - 5%, ripple (banks are still likely to support it more) - 5%. I would really withdraw 30% and go travelling on them and leave 15% in btc. Other 5% are for trading.
8654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What questions should I ask myself before investing in a cryptocurrency? on: September 07, 2017, 07:46:38 AM
Questions are:

Can I afford to lose this money?
Do I understand marketcaps?
Am I investing because I can see how valuable this idea can become or because people are saying it's great?
Ι think the third one is not important in trading. One has to be a good trader and that's it. In such kind of business, if you sell apples you don't need to love and be expert on apples. You just have to be sure people will buy them. And people don't always buy the best. Indeed, people buy something a lot because of other people saying that it's worth buying.
Actually many things :

  • Am I sure to really understand what crypto money is?
  • what are the risks of crypto-investment ?
  • How much FIAT money can I afford to invest on a monthly basis ?
  • What could be the possible outcomes of a state regulation of the crypto world
  • Why do I want to get involved in crypto world ?
So you really have to invest fiat money every month? No chance to earn something and then continue with the profit you've made, instead of investing more cash?
No, I guess if you're doing good you can increase your funds for investments from the profit you made. It's just that mostly profit is not high enough, whereas additional fiat might help to earn more.

By the way, I think a very important question is whether you are obsessed with coins and money in general. You have to be rather calm and cold about coins to be a good trader. Otherwise you will not overcome your losses and won't sell coins when necessary.
8655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please share your EXIT strategy... on: September 07, 2017, 07:36:26 AM
I am new and jumped all in...what I lack is exit strategy.

Not a full EXIT but to secure some of your "gains" to real earnings.  OR...where/how to convert to cash when you expect a major dive so you can re-purchase when it is low.

Anyone have good tips when and how you do it?
Maybe I got you wrong but people were writing about selling btc for fiat, whereas I really thought that you meant exit in trading. I think it this case it's best to decide the profit for each coin in advance and maybe just set them for sell right after buying on the prices you expect them to reach. If you invest $100+ then I guess even 15-20% profit is really nice. If you are a small investor - aim for at least +100% for it to make sense. This strategy will help to win from trading and minimize stupid losses.
8656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO Eating away the sell walls on the rumors on: September 07, 2017, 07:25:22 AM
That's a true surprise for me! In the news it is said that China just wanted to protect the investors, not scare them off and ban icos just for the sake of them being banned. It still means NEO will suffer, at least for now, for lots of icos probably were scams but still pumped neo. Anyway, this is great for the market in general, for icos might start becoming fully legit and recognized from now on. Yet in the news it is said that Chinese major officials didn't say a thing, so they might change their mind.
8657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Short Term Return on: September 06, 2017, 09:30:29 AM
Daily trading for alt coin is very tricky, and you need to right moment to get profit, and most of the times the coin that you need to trade is differ for each day, last two months I got a lot of profit with nem, last month with neo, this month perhaps is going to be monero, so daily trading alt coin is following the trend of investors and it is very hard to follow
Yeah, maybe that's why it was so hard for me and I still didn't manage to do that properly. I once bought eth and ltc, these investment went out just awesome but still I thought it would be nice to try trading on daily basis. I bought some coins and found it hard for me to sell them when they grow and it's really not that easy to guess which to buy! For instance, I bought adx, because everyone said it will pump in about a week but it was falling down since then.. You're lucky you made profit with neo, I guess most of people considered in long-term and lost a lot.
8658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO forbidden in China? Will same thing eventually happen in all countries? on: September 06, 2017, 09:19:37 AM
Not every country will ban ICOs. Or even put regulations on them. But I think the ICO craze will soon die off. Most of them seem to offer a product that is easy to make, they take the money, then take years to actually produce anything. It doesn't seem to be a great way to instill trust in the crypto community. Many projects have done really well without ICOs. Even if China and the US has strict regulations on ICOs people will find ways around it and invest anyway. I could see more ICOs offering to be funded with zencash, monero, zcash, and hosted in countries with no regulations.
Well, when the craze will die in countries like USA or China, it will only begin in small countries. Unfortunately, that's what I see in my country. Most of people don't even know cryptocurrencies exist but I've already accidentally seen a job offer on helping to launch ICO and found out that now one ico is launched at once! And I'm talking about Ukraine! I think we'll soon see icos from countries of which most of Europeans and USA citizens have probably never heard.
8659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO Crashing down to pennies on: September 06, 2017, 09:05:34 AM
Even if this info has no proof (I didn't see anything when I searched for it), there are great proofs of icos being banned and thus I agree that NEO might do some final agonist price pumps but it will die soon anyway. We can see the green market right now and basically, most of coins are recovering from the news. Yet this doesn't hold for NEO. And I guess investing in icos built on this platform would nowadays probably be the worst idea of all.
8660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to start trading alt coins on: September 06, 2017, 08:55:56 AM
OP, I agree with most of your posts but I believe a good advice for a beginner will also be to watch videos about coins on youtube from time to time. And I really don't get your #15 advice. I think recommending a newbie to gamble with some of the earned money is a rather bad advice. Moreover, you talk about investing the profit one made.. I believe some profit has to be withdrawn, for otherwise there's no profit at all.
I like low cap undervalued coins too. But you have to buy them less than overs. For example my basic entry stake is 5% of my deposit. So in low cap high risked coins I should invest only 2.5%. I like the expression that you can lose only 100%, but the gain can be much more - it works)
I think low cap coins are just too risky for one to invest in them, you know. They can be pumped and dumped to easily by their creators. It's better to invest in big cap coins, they are generally more stable.
