8681  Economy / Speculation / Re: Financiers ‘keep skills sharp’ by trading cryptocurrencies on: February 11, 2018, 01:36:48 PM
I don't particularly believe there's much or any skill involved in trading crypto, whereas there is a tad with shares as they're somewhat calmer and more measured.

Crypto is so relentless, shameless and chaotic that I'd assume anyone applying principles learnt elsewhere will get their arse handed to them rapidly.
8682  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Demand for a legal investment fund? on: February 10, 2018, 05:56:31 PM
Of course there'd be huge demand for it but we'd have to wait for regulators to approve one. The closest thing so far in Europe is XBT Provider which is an ETN.
8683  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-10] Japanese Crypto Investors To Pay Tax Of Up To 55 Percent On Profits on: February 10, 2018, 02:04:57 PM
So, as cryptocurrencies become legalized in many countries, user start finding out how many taxes they have to pay when they sell their coins, but this leads to a question - can you legally avoid those taxes if instead of selling coins for a profit you just use them as a currency? If yes, then it can become a big boost for crypto adoption, until governments will close this potential loophole.

That will completely depend on the country you live in, but in the US and UK at least spending rather than selling is no loophole. You're still liable for the same taxes as a straightforward sale. It's still classed as a disposal.

The US were planning on exempting expenditure up to $600 in value. I don't know how far that got.
8684  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-10] Japanese Crypto Investors To Pay Tax Of Up To 55 Percent On Profits on: February 10, 2018, 01:40:04 PM
So who's paying the 55%? I can't find any mention of that.

I feel for the people who got caught up in the Coincheck hack. They're being paid back in JPY which means an involuntary tax bill. I would not be best pleased about that.
8685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 09, 2018, 09:03:32 PM
no problem, maybe i'm just too stupid to understand Sad

i have nem in my wallet. I connect my trezor to my wallet.

all the xem that i have inside my .wlt file right DON'T go automatically into my trezor and i don't have to make a transaction to trasfer them to my trezor Sad

The Trezor is a completely separate new wallet. Right now there is nothing in it.

Note the address. Send everything in your existing wallet to it. Obviously do a test transaction first to make sure you have the right address.

Make sure you store the Trezor seed in multiple forms in multiple locations. That's your only backup.

Ultimately the people to be pissed off at are coincheck. Their stupidity and laziness is what caused this. If it wasn't going to be this hacker it would've been another one eventually.

Since when have yobit cared about anyone or anything? It'll be quite amusing if they are nailed to the wall for this. They sound like scum.
8688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEM to $10 Q1 2018 on: February 09, 2018, 11:42:44 AM
NEM is a nice project, but i doubt if such price would be achieved within a short time frame. $10 is a price for 3 to 5 years

I expected one dollar in 2019 ish. Instead it got there within a few months of me wondering. People usually overestimate the shorter term and massively underestimate the long term.
8689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEM to $10 Q1 2018 on: February 09, 2018, 03:29:05 AM
$10 Q1 2018? Seriously?  Huh

Not really.
8690  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2018, 12:07:51 AM
I think anyone who buys a pen worths thousands of dollars is a little bit mentally retarded.

You can stab people with it, stick up your jacksy, or even one's urethra, plug holes in aircraft fuselages to prevent depressurisation and use it to deliver children if there's no hot water and towels to hand.

Can a Lambo do any of that?
8691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEM to $10 Q1 2018 on: February 09, 2018, 12:04:47 AM
I would be glad to see XEM per $10. I have some xem for this. But I don't believe in such price. What could be capitalization in this case? Unreal

Just under 90 billion dollars. Certainly very high but not unreal. It would take the whole of the crypto market to rise accordingly and hugely unless NEM was adopted by the US government or something, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility if this year turns out to be an epic one.

This year could go either way, but never say never.
8692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 08, 2018, 09:40:15 PM
ok, i'm sorry, you are right! is a new account, so i have to transfer what i have in my .wlt to my new account, connected with my trezor. Correct?

Indeed. There's no way of importing anything.

An exciting exchange here directly between John Mcafee and a Binance executive. This is the type of quality news reporting the crypto space is famous for - https://vocaroo.com/i/s1D1P48WrMBs

The Bcash Infowars phone in didn't go too good according to this.
8695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: binance exchange scam warrning on: February 08, 2018, 07:30:15 PM
I don't really understand where this place sprang from. I only heard of it in the last few weeks.

When it comes to listing coins they're greedy hookers who demand hundreds of thousands of dollars or more on top of buying their personal shitcoin to vote on it, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're front running the hell out of their customers.

As for a giant hack, I'll believe it when I see it. Until then it's maintenance.
8696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEM to $10 Q1 2018 on: February 08, 2018, 12:00:17 PM
What you guys thoughts on NEM ?

NEM isn't bad by paper, but they lost credibility with scam projects like DIM and the exchange hack where half a billion dollars in NEM was stolen.

$10 for Q1 2018... not a chance.

What does nem itself have to do with third party morons?
8697  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 07, 2018, 11:49:30 PM
Nope. You either have free speech, or there are things you are allowed to say. There is no middle ground. Fuck off. Cunt.

Why does 'free speech' always have to be so fucking boring, repetitive and worthless? I favour interesting speech.

It's always wheeled out to defend the utter shit that's squirted into our minds by angry midget virgins on here.

No. Read what I wrote again.

A ban of Roach would be a good start.  His noodlings on physical silver don’t bring sufficient value to justify his other bullshit.  I don’t give a flip if he has has been here since day 1.

Who has mod powers on this thread now ?

You ALWAYS know what it's going to write without needing to read it which is the definition of a worthless poster. A waste of everyone's time and electricity that brings nothing.

Maybe someone could help me. I downloaded the NEM application wallet to my iPhone and now I can't transfer NEM from it. I have no sense what to do and how to transfer NEM from application to any exchange.
