Too bad it always reads Rat to me.
The Dev's are the Rats in this debacle they are either complicit or did not do their due diligence.  Either way they own this fuck up and theft.

Can one of you DT members please paint the Dev in RED for this?

Who is the dev for this anyway? Can you list their bitcointalk account names here? Anybody that was negatively effected by this should consider opening up a Scam Accusation thread about them.

It was a novel scam for sure; funny how the devs are blaming an anonymous GitHub contributor for the problem -- of course they are the ones who should be double-checking all the changes that get made to the client.
8682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nasdacoin is fully encrypted, 100% digital currency on: December 26, 2018, 07:36:41 AM
Another fucking scam!  Angry

Very much so. I saw this coin when it hit the top 100 by market cap, looked into it, it has all the hallmarks of a scam. It will continue to drift away into nothingness as it has been doing since its giant pump. Any coin that skyrockets in price like this is assuredly just an attempt to manipulate ranking sites like coinmarketcap.com into getting them some free attention.
8683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather set for New Year's Eve fight in Japan on: December 26, 2018, 03:53:57 AM
To those with a lot of question about this "glorified sparring match", here's a nice article written a few hours ago
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/boxing/8050614/mayweather-vs-nasukawa-time-tv-channel-rules-undercard/

I thought this fight is called off according to Floyds Instagram account, but I guess the power of money is so irresistible to Floyd to let this one pass. If there's a media black out on this sparring fight and it's not going to be counted on each fighters record then this simply is nothing but for the money and not for the sport.

Mayweather doesn't need the money of course, but his bank account did take a minor ding over his involvement in the Centra Tech ICO scam.

https://techcrunch.com/2018/11/30/floyd-mayweather-and-dj-khaled-to-pay-sec-fines-for-flogging-garbage-icos/

The dude is as dumb as a box of rocks. The funniest part is he never took this tweet down, months after it was exposed he had a role in helping to advertise a fraud ICO:

https://twitter.com/floydmayweather/status/909911035263328256?lang=en

Maybe he doesn't know how to delete tweets?
8684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano on: December 26, 2018, 03:04:57 AM
The developers said that the project will be developed for a long time. In 2019, we expect a lot of releases. There will be a release of smart contracts. Coinbase exchange should add an ADA coin. Recently, problems with their Cardano foundation have been resolved. I see a huge potential for the project.

OK, so Ethereum already has smart contracts. Why should people switch to Cardano? Their number 1 problem is the fact that they have zero penetration with the crypto-using world. They have to come up with a reason why people should use their coin. Way, way too much of the current total market cap of all coins is speculation based, and Cardano is the biggest offender in this regard.
8685  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 25, 2018, 12:12:09 PM
domination only grows in XRP, ETH and BCH https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#dominance-percentage

if you replace those 3 with BTC then you are correct.

Since Jan 1st 2018:

BTC: 37.96 - 51.86, up 37%

XRP: 14.42 - 11.93, down 17%
ETH: 12.2 - 10.42, down 15%
BCH: 6.92 - 2.26, down 67%

I don't know what the BCH people were thinking honestly... "ego will lead us to salvation"?
8686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why bitcoin cash Pumping ?? on: December 25, 2018, 11:40:59 AM
BCH pump cancelled. Down 18% today, to its price 1 month ago. Even at the peak of its pump, it was only worth 1/2 of what it was pre-fork business. Really, I don't understand why people thought/think this coin had/has a chance... It's just an ego. Now you also have BCH, which is just a superego.
8687  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 25, 2018, 06:38:05 AM
How much do that signature campaigns pay nowadays? Maybe now that I am poor I should contemplate wearing one for f00d.

Not much! I live in a place where $10 a day is considered a decent salary (some jobs pay as low as $3 a day), so $40 a week for doing something I'd be doing anyway is pretty good.

Kind of gives you some perspective as to why there's soooo many frickin' bounty hunters basically trying to sift through crypto trash for a few dollars.

If you're truly interested, ChipMixer has the best paying campaign, but its also the hardest to get into.
8688  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 25, 2018, 06:13:50 AM
has to be 2.5MB or less

Thanks for the pro tip. I like my new one better.

Awesome work as always. Sorry I had to take off my hat but I'm keeping it around for later.

There's no better gift than a nice shot to the nuts.

Merry Christmas to the WO board!

Here's some independent research that concludes the Lightning Network is definitively picking up steam:

https://bitcoinvisuals.com/lightning

Franky, why are you so mad at a technology? I don't get it.

I don't think it would have been the end of the world had the Core devs ended up doubling the bitcoin block size, but since they didn't, a whole new wave of innovation has sprung forth, and if it helps bitcoin do its job, why not let it?

Of course its not perfect. Neither is bitcoin.
8691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Endor - Fast and accurate results for predictive questions. Sale April 2018 on: December 23, 2018, 01:18:51 PM
This sounds like a cool project; I just became aware of it and am writing this comment mainly to serve as a bookmark.

What intrigues me is not only the artificial intelligence-driven predictive analysis component but the fact that, as a crypto enthusiast, its software does not rely upon the success of cryptocurrency. Thus, so long as the Endor software proves to be the least bit popular, it should continue to thrive regardless of the current state of the crypto market.

I studied artificial neural networks in graduate school and helped develop a model to predict freeway traffic speeds at given times, shortly before GPS-based traffic apps became the norm. This project kind of makes me wish I would have studied harder and stayed in academia.

Congrats to the team for a job well done and almost cracking the top 100 coins by market cap, best of luck to you.
8692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: fear of ransomware attack like wannacry on: December 23, 2018, 07:27:26 AM
It's a "ransom" so you have to pay for the hostages which is your information and other data that has been hijacked by that attack. In that case, you have to pay according to the given amount and bitcoin address given.

But take note of this, there are also emails that are looking like ransomware which says that they had hijacked your information and data because you use a  website that they have been part of but don't believe with those if you find nothing on your PC.

ransomwares do not "hijack" anything from you, what they do is that they encrypt your data (put a password on your files, so to speak) and then demand money before they give you the encryption key so that you can access your data again.
so for example if you haven't kept any backup you will lose everything including your bitcoins.

What's interesting is in 2016 one of my ex co-workers whom I did not care for had this happen at his workstation, while I myself - who was notorious for screwing around with cryptocurrencies, downloading questionable wallets and visiting questionable crypto sites - never had this happen to me. Since we didn't get along, I suspected he or somebody else sabotaged himself on purpose to try to pin the blame on me. The ransomware propagated itself onto our main server, which had to be rolled back, but because we were semi-professionals at least we had backups.

I wonder if anybody who's ever paid the ransom actually had their computer unencrypted.
8693  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin is a criminal on: December 23, 2018, 05:41:22 AM
No Trump hasn't done shit,, good one.. that's why a web site was started to keep track of all his accomplishments. There were hundreds of quality changes he made within the first 6 months. None of which you are aware because fake news CNN left it out, they would rather talk to Story Daniels lawyer

Every president since the invention of the web has had a similar website. I remember Obama had one, and Bush before him. I don't think Trump is as awful as your average American does - he hasn't screwed up nearly as hard as Bush the II did - unless you mean going by his personality, in that case he's about the worst president America has ever had.

The presidency is just a figurehead position. It's basically meaningless. If you don't think 99.9% of a president's decisions are controlled by his cabinet, his advisors, and military/corporate interests, you're living in a dream world.
8694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network records are booming on: December 23, 2018, 04:45:35 AM
outsiders (not the utopian dreamers) but realists see LN as a room that needs a room just to use a room.

EG everyone knows a house has utility and has value. but to outsiders.
many know bitcoin has/had utility and everyone (SHOULD) know bitcoin has value(im not talking abut price)

but outsiders say having to KYC to turn their fiat into crypto.. first wall of entry.
then using crypto = fee's and confirm delays.. next wall..
then being told crypto is not good for transacting so need to lock up the coin.. another wall..
then being told to split funds into separate channels. more walls.
all just to be able to spend crypto for coffee.. more walls

alot of people are saying easier to just buy a starbucks giftcard and job done

We're not asking everybody in the world to use bitcoin for everything. There are things even faster than a starbucks gift card, like cash.

It makes much more sense to use for online transactions, especially when an inter-fiat conversion is going to ultimately take place. In that regard, bitcoin is doing just fine with or without the lightning network. But even if the lightning network does gain popularity and widespread use, that's not a valid reason to be angry about it. Its just a technology used by consenting parties, not some evil scheme to stray bitcoin from its wholesome roots.
8695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano on: December 23, 2018, 03:35:20 AM
nothing is impossible in the world of cryptocurrency, Cardano is a pretty good coin, and has an experienced team, and also active dev, we can see activities and dev updates on the Github ADA, and that is one reason why I should choose ADA.
because the coin is good one of the features is active dev.

So... did you hack this account or did you buy it? I'm just curious, because it was on a break for 11 months and then when it re-awoke all the sudden its owner could speak Indonesian. Also the quality of the posts has gone down to a Newbie / Junior Member level.
Daraammm !!
I like things like this and it will be the best choice to determine which accounts to buy. LOL
If indeed this happens and it is proven by active evidence, I will laugh and say: LOOK AT THE LEGENDARY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SOLD TO NOOB. LOL

Unfortunately one thing I've learned is that guys like these never look back at old threads they commented on, so he'll probably never see this message. Eventually he'll be busted for plagiarism though is my guess.

Oh boy, a whopping 3 transactions in the last 4 minutes. There's coins with 1/10th the market cap of this one that have 10x more volume...

Glad I sold at 30 cents. Watched my investment plummet for a good couple months because it was impossible to update my wallet at the time being. They've since fixed it but the truth is this coin has no real world usage. Nobody uses it for anything, nobody ever will.
The team is creating its product. They are moving very fast. In early 2019, developers promise a lot of updates. Cardano is a long-term project.

They really don't need "updates." They need users. They need to present a case to the general public as to why people should use their coin and not the hundreds of other viable alternatives. Anybody is capable of promising anything. That's all it is: a promise.

In October there was a blame shift from Hoskinson to the Cardano Foundation, which didn't really solve anything as the price of ADA is still down 40% since then:

you're about to pass me in total merit. so here, have 2 more, so now you're officially past me and i won't think about it anymore.

I also officially retire from posting in this thread.

What an exercise in futility.

It was entertaining hearing the wacky theories that some people seem to actually believe, though I'm still not convinced they actually believe them.

A few red flags here for people considering investing:

- no white paper
- no team (the "advisors" are the team apparently)
- promises NASDAQ listing without providing any evidence as to how that might happen
- promises 5 fold price increase by 2021... by scam standards that's not too much but no coin can know exactly what its going to be worth in 2 years
- very low volume, very high supply (10 billion)... this coin can be pumped for a few thousand dollars

Plus I have no idea what you're supposed to do with it.

i know because every day more than 12 hours i'm active in your site ..

You play dice more than 12 hours a day? That's a lot of dice. How do you manage to not lose everything ever day? I'm genuinely curious.
