8701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The release of Satoshi's personal data on: December 22, 2018, 08:30:58 AM
doublespend, why you are trying so hard to convince people to believe JB is SN?

Given that he keeps associating JB with white nationalism, maybe he's trying to smear Satoshi (and thus Bitcoin) via the Transitive Property: "If JB = white nationalist, and JB = Satoshi, then Satoshi = white nationalist."

I'm still fairly sure that DT and JB are one person engaging in a dialogue between two accounts. I originally assumed his intent was to convince people that he was Satoshi. He might also just be crazy and disassociative.

They're not the same person. So far no media sources have abused this thread to write a sensationalized story on the matter, so its safe to say this was just a weird but friendly dialogue between two every day white nationalists. I have to admit it was pretty entertaining.

If anything it was a plug for a documentary, which I also have to admit intrigues me.
8702  Economy / Speculation / Re: Final pump before full capitulation? on: December 22, 2018, 05:20:33 AM
The link you had given is totally irrelevant on the topic you have posted. Its about NKN project as I read up and introducing some persona but the content
isn't really directly connected with this one.

Lol, at least you clicked it, I don't think any of the rest of us did.

Going back on topic, Final pump before going down then if that's the case then theres nothing we can do but the fact
I'm a little bit excited to purchase btc even on $1000 mark.

All I know is the BTC market consistently defies all rational expectations. I firmly believe there's some master class manipulation going on that has been attempting to psych out pretty much the entirety of traders for all of 2018. Basically, the Conventional Wisdom of this crowd has always been wrong this year. Every previously established piece of technical analysis that may have once had any merit can safely be thrown out the window. That's why I'm going against the grain and saying we've already hit a low.
8703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano will replace ETH! on: December 21, 2018, 09:38:33 AM
Here's the thing:

Cardano has zero real world adoption. Zero. Just take a look at their block explorer: empty block after empty block. There are coins 10 - 100x smaller in market cap that do 10x more transactions on any given day than Cardano.

This coin is a brain in a hat and not much more. Its entire success so far depends on the fact that its whitepaper insists that its brilliant. That may be, but with no users, it will never become anything and continue to slide down the rankings.
8704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Influence of Bounty Participants on: December 21, 2018, 09:21:10 AM
Yes bounty hunters Contributed the most when it comes to success of an ico, I'm pretty sure they introduce in more investors than rating site did. And about the dumping part i belive is just for the investors to blame someone

No, bounty hunters hardly contribute anything to an ICO, and that's why they get paid almost nothing. Frankly I don't know why they exist as most of them write empty posts devoid of anything intelligent, have fake Facebook friends and simply copy/paste information from the ICO website and call it a "blog." Then if a token should actually acquire value they immediately dump their stash onto the market.

Probably the most frustrating part is none of them are here to actually learn anything. They learned just enough to operate a wallet so they can get "free money." They don't contribute anything positive to the forum and make it appear is if its 90% advertisements.
8705  Economy / Speculation / Re: Final pump before full capitulation? on: December 21, 2018, 09:15:32 AM
I believe that this is a final pump before we touch $2,000 levels. Bitmain is buying a bunch of BCH in order to successfully file for IPO, due to their existing poor earnings report. Some kind of manipulation is occurring right now, and I believe it will not sustain.

Check out this article I wrote here

BTC BTC BTC

1.I though that BCH no longer exists,it's replaced by the two forked coins (BSV and the other one,I forgot it's name).
2.Buying "BCH" or any other altcoin has nothing to do with launching an IPO.Why do you think there's a connection between buying altcons and IRO.Buying a bunch of altcoins won't improve the poor earnings report of Bitmain.

1. It exists. During the brief "hash war" it was referred to as BCHABC; after they won they retained the BCH title and BCHSV became "BSV."

2. It has everything to do with Bitmain, as they already own a lot of BCH, a high BCH price at the end of the year will look good on their balance sheets, perhaps serving to offset some of the tremendous losses they incurred by mining at a loss all year.

8707  Other / Meta / Re: Bad language, can we make it a better place? on: December 21, 2018, 05:59:15 AM
There's no such thing as "bad language," there is only bad people, and language.

I would say people who tirelessly promote "passive income" schemes are probably worse than people who use swear words, as a whole.
8708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why bitcoin cash Pumping ?? on: December 21, 2018, 04:54:37 AM
I think both of the Bitcoin cash Variants ABC and SV were pretty hard hit with the struggle to see which would take the dominance of hashing power. The overall state of crypto didn't help either and now that the decline seems to have stabilised we should see some good improvements in Bitcoin cash as the struggle for hashing power dominance settles down

The hash war is long over. It really doesn't matter if SV moves ahead of BCH in hash rate. The coins are split; there's no going back. The exchanges aren't going to suddenly switch their naming conventions around if SV has more hashpower. Craig lost already.
8709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why bitcoin cash Pumping ?? on: December 21, 2018, 04:00:11 AM
BCH is still down 13% over the last month. Some speculate BCH is currently being bought up by Bitmain in order to make their end of year balance sheet look good. If you bought BCH to get in on the fork action at any time pre-fork you're still sitting on a loss if you combine the prices of both BCH and BSV. Best thing to do is not get caught up in either one of these coins, especially now.
8710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Westland Storage and WLS - Ponzi scam on: December 21, 2018, 02:13:26 AM
I can say that this is a pure scam. They have a new and innovated way to scam other people. Like the last which was totally obvious, now its not. Beware to those users that are planning to invest on this.

You can't invest in it anymore because the whole thing has gone belly-up already. The website's been shut down -- there's nothing to invest in. There's only a bunch of people who got suckered into into a con.
8711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: December 20, 2018, 02:34:42 AM
There is a 12hr gap between blocks 4990 and 4991 https://explorador.petro.gob.ve/block/5704fcc043a037ca0a3101f43f6647facc8c1693e12cfa6d0d5edc3ebf883570

Last 7 day period summary:

First block on the 9th, #4023: https://explorador.petro.gob.ve/block/44ccb4cb83e085c61ebf31093961f05f4b1248cf69db36f41b2388726f24f2b7
Last block on the 15th, #4982: https://explorador.petro.gob.ve/block/2fe727509913d6c8ddbf560a5830dfef3ac56821bf6044874b5665443cf9e96a

960 blocks per week or 5 blocks per hour.  The block time is varying between 1 minute and 12 hours, with an average of 20 minutes.

This is interesting... Block times are really wonky and the difficulty is really, really low, meaning that theoretically anybody who had the client could mine it. You could mine it from a laptop. However, the client is unavailable so its kind of an impossibility for the moment. Cryptocurrencies just weren't designed to be backed by a central authority.
8712  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker on blockchain and internet poker ban in USA on: December 19, 2018, 11:33:34 AM
I'm just wondering where OP got their information from... Its not illegal on a federal level in the United States, though it is illegal in some states:

https://www.pokerwebsites.com/faq/#a

Quote
The short answer is yes, online poker is legal in the United States on the individual level. It’s certainly not illegal federally, despite many misleading statements over the years from government officials and those in favor of online gambling prohibition.

It can get a little tricky on the state level. Most states don’t have laws against online gambling, but in some states, such as Washington state, online gambling is a felony offense. Citizens can even be prosecuted for simply having online poker software on their computers. States that have laws against individual gamblers, like Utah and Louisiana, also criminalize online poker by default.

With that said, no one has ever been prosecuted on the national or state level for playing online poker. Even in Washington state, there have been zero online poker arrests. Even though these laws are on the books, no one is being arrested or prosecuted. So yes, it is safe to play poker from the US. Please see the referenced article for a complete article on safety and more here about getting scammed in poker.

Currently, online poker is legal and regulated in New Jersey, Delaware, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Players in those states will have no issues playing on regulated sites in these states, but more on this later.

I've never had any problems playing online poker at Nitrogensports even though I registered my account in the US and played from there several times.
8713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Westland Storage and WLS - Ponzi scam on: December 19, 2018, 10:56:36 AM
I just wanted to point people to this other thread, has some more information about this Ponzi:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4134320.40

And also there's an active Telegram group you can check out if you want to contribute to an ongoing investigation involving English and Dutch authorities:

Sounds like over $30 million was taken before these guys suddenly closed up shop and drifted away into the night.
8714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever won a prize in Freebitco.in Lottery? If yes, how much? on: December 19, 2018, 05:36:25 AM
Its always interesting to see people win the lottery with only 50 to 200 tickets... the people who bought a million must be pretty flabbergasted. but it does give me hope that maybe someday I'll win one too, with my 200 - 300 tickets...
8715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano on: December 19, 2018, 04:06:22 AM
Just checked to see what's latest in the world of Cardano, not much:

Oh boy, a whopping 3 transactions in the last 4 minutes. There's coins with 1/10th the market cap of this one that have 10x more volume...

Glad I sold at 30 cents. Watched my investment plummet for a good couple months because it was impossible to update my wallet at the time being. They've since fixed it but the truth is this coin has no real world usage. Nobody uses it for anything, nobody ever will.
8716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gave us something more than the protocol on: December 18, 2018, 07:29:39 AM
It also gave all of us the "idea" of something like "Bitcoin", a form of "money" that is not controlled by the state, is achievable.

Bitcoin might fail, but the idea lives on to make a better "Bitcoin".
Bitcoin was first created to become the future currency, but what is happening now is that Bitcoin has changed its function, becoming a traded commodity asset, so this is not a failure of Bitcoin, but a setback in digital currency technology, because if this happens then the function from bitcoin only as a digital asset, bitcoin should be returned to its original function as a payment tool, because bitcoin has the potential to become the world's single currency.
FTFY: a commodity is a raw material used to create products.. bitcoin is a asset currency.

Actually its both currency and commodity -- to claim that its not will only confuse people (in the US) that are considering paying taxes on it:

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/07/cryptocurrencies-like-bitcoin-are-commodities-us-judge-rules.html
https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/09/29/bitcoin-price-analysis/
https://www.danielstrading.com/2017/12/12/bitcoin-commodity-currency

what i view as occuring was 2009-2013 bitcoin was a open free choice asset currency to be the opposite of what fiat is.
what i view as occuring of 2013-2018 bitcoin is closing off as a free choice asset currency to become just another "new state" fiat.

So basically you're saying that the Bitcoin Core devs are a "state"? You're welcome to have your own opinions but I'd rather go with the reality of the situation, which is that bitcoin is highly decentralized in comparison to actual state currencies, and most other cryptocurrencies. If you look at the dispersion of mining and nodes in BTC compared to "other bitcoins" like BCH and SV, there's no comparison -- BTC is far more decentralized.
8717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency would you engage to gamble in? on: December 18, 2018, 07:16:19 AM
I did like DirectBet for a lot of reasons and it's really easy to start gambling there. You just need to deposit in your unique address and just deposit and they know it's yours. It's easy and fast. I haven't tried gambling DOGEcoin but I think it's a great tool for it. I miss the site too, I wish it hadn't gone away.

What is the reason anyway? I forgot what happened. Or I think it was just they don't want to continue? I don't know.

They didn't really say... But yeah, they were always honest, straight-forward and fast with payments.

One interesting bet that I never took (glad I didn't) that they had on there was the winner of the US presidential election... The options were "Hillary Clinton" versus "Republican"... Trump was too much of a wild card to put on there. I remember Hillary was a 1.4x payout and I thought that was easy money for months... boy oh boy was I wrong about that. The most wrong I've ever been about anything.

Maybe that single item cleaned them out, or enough to make them want to shut down their website... if enough people were betting on the Republican "longshot."

They must be so proud hehehe. Meanwhile their president is doing summary killings because of his socalled war on drugs which we already know is only another way for politicians in power to collect money and have their campaigns funded.
It's ironic that the question to Catriona Gray is about legalization of Marijuana. A few days ago, the President of the Philippines during his speech claims that he himself is a marijuana user to stay awake. The Malacanan Palace (home of the President) somewhat agreed about Catriona Gray's stand on legalization of Marijuana.

Yeah but he said he was just kidding about that... I mean, using marijuana to stay awake... If you've ever come near the stuff you know it doesn't exactly have that effect, at least not after the first hour. The government is seriously considering legalizing it for medicinal purposes which is a good step forward.

Funny thing is here in Angeles people still do shabu like its no big deal, like none of the extrajudicial killing stuff is going on elsewhere. I know that just possession of marijuana can be a 12 year prison sentence and that's enough to scare me straight!

Anyway, lets get back to how hot Catriona Gray is... Damn, she's fine as hell! Lol... Pia Wurzbach only came 3 years prior. Good for the Philippines to have 2 titles so close to each other.

Next Philippino-related gambling event: Pacquiao fight on January 19th. Money's on him. Wonder what the "line" is...
8720  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2018, 11:05:18 AM
47 people got the poll wrong so far.

The answer is "you don't know."

We're in a speculation thread...

The one thing I've learned from this thread is that nobody really knows anything.

Speculating is a bit different from letting a monkey throw a dart at a wall, where one half of it is painted "yes" in green and the other half painted "no" in red. The monkey would have just as good odds of answering this question as anybody else.

Thus, the correct answer is "I don't know."
