Fun times. Tested some 0 Fee TX and apparently there was someone including them and someone not. Saw 4 confirmations to go away and return in a matter of minutes. Anyway, all coins back to faucet, learned my raw TX lessons for the day

Id still like to join.
While I understand your negative trust was left by a complete untrustworthy scamming forum member I can not allow you to participate in the campaign. Newcomers and other forum members do not always take the time to look at the why, and who of negative feedback and just assume red and untrustworthy mean just that. So unfortunately I can not have our signature campaigned tied to an account flagged as untrustworthy. I'm sorry and I would urge you to ask Tradefortress to remove it. He appears to me as 0: -0 / +0(0) and will to any newcomers on this forum as they use default trust with a depth of 2 as standard just like I do. Thanks, was about the write exactly that. Id like to add that TradeFortress or $username tried to blackmail me to leave a signature campaign, because the page in question was suspected to have scammed users. I did not remove my signature, because I tend not a fall for blackmail. I actually think that to anyone that looks into the story this "negative" rating only shows my loyalty to the campaigns I participate in. The campaign itself is not the same as the page. And as it turned out not only did dicebitco.in very quickly repay those that lost, they even repaid everyone else a few weeks later. Everyone else beeing those that made an overall profit from betting even though nounces where skipped. So I have negative trust from the biggest scammer [CITATION NEEDED] on bitcointalk for sticking with a legit signature campaign for a legit dice site. Thus, I will not ask $username to remove the rating. If you still not want me to join the campaign I can accept that. If you change your mind, feel free to contact me. Please allow this post to be at least 24 hours in this thread so it can be read by those interested. Thanks.

Life can suck sometimes. I need a hug.

Spend them with other unspend outputs received on the same address in a TX without fee. This might take some time to confirm, but when it does you have a single unspend output.

I have cleaned up the thread, if your post was deleted please do not take offence, a lot of the posts that were deleted were supportive posts. I just want to keep this thread focused on the campaign.
Currently we have two full member spots open, 10 senior spots, and 9 hero spots.
Id like to join once my current term is up (tomorrow). If you have any questions, just ask or send me a PM Id still like to join.

I was wondering, what is the smallest fee, I can use, to still have my transaction confirmed?
0, it might just take a while (as in: up to a week) till a miner will include your TX in a block. I am currently on a site, where "things" can be bought, for a few satoshi's {less than 3000 satoshi} BUT the problem come in, that to get this transaction confirmed, you have to spend more Satoshi's than what the digital item was worth. ^frown^
So this negate the statement, that bitcoin are best for micro transactions like this.
With the way the standart fee currently works and the value of bitcoin, its indeed not good for microtransactions. If you leave no fee, it will never be confirmed. Or there might be a possibility
So as a guideline, I need to know, what minimum fee, will guarantee a confirmation of the transaction?
No fee can guarantee a confirmation, but it would be very unlikely if a TX would not be included in the next block with standard fee (10k satoshi / kbyte). A lower fee (e.g. 1k satoshi / kbyte) will lead to less miners that will include your TX in a block, but if you have a little time any miner would do and there are still some out there with enough power to make a block that accept 0 fee TX.

Anyone can add a "tag" to an address on blockchain.info. Its just someone sending you spam.

You could "download" the entire blockchain via carrier pigeon.
Something similar was done by putting a USB drive on a pigeon's foot and sending him over a few hundred miles.
They calculated the data rate and it was a pretty competitive speed.
reminds me of this: https://what-if.xkcd.com/31/

On startup its checking the last 288 blocks by default you can reduce the number of blocks with: -checkblocks=<n> and how thorough those blocks are checked with: -checklevel=<n> where n is an integer from 0 to 4 and 3 is the default setting.
You could also use: -par=<n> to set the number of cores to use, by default (n=0) its determined automatically.

-snip- Good point, added rule 25 with an explanation: 25. Ban evasion (creating new accounts when the old one is banned) is not allowed.[e] 25. If you get banned (temporary or permanently) and create a new account to continue posting / sending PMs, it's considered ban evasion. The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban. 25.

I dont get your calculations. The slow sync speed has almost certainly nothing to do with your CPU speed but with the speed of the connection to the sync node. Bitcoin core uses only 1 node to sync (use getpeerinfo in console and look for sync:true) if that connection is slow the sync is slow, the calculations to verify each block should take your macbook fractions of a second for each block.
The time miners need to find a block has very little to do with the number of TXs that will be confirmed with that block, so more TX do not equal less blocks. The way the bitcoin is disgned is that an block will be done every 10 minutes on average and its self regulating this every 2016 blocks by increasing or decreasing the difficulty.

Who cares about some arbitrary "ratios" displayed locally in a client? Of course I posted my tip for those that care about their ratio, not for those that don't care. ;-) Indeed, so in order to avoid a "bad ratio" just share the blockchain data torrent until you uploaded at least as much as you downloaded. Not necessarily. If you had a ratio of e.g. 2.0, you'd have to upload the file twice to get your old ratio back. For people with an average DSL connection, with typically fast download speeds but low upload speeds, that's almost impossible to achieve, especially when they prefer to go about other torrents. So, using a different torrent client exclusively for the blockchain torrent, is a simple way to keep your old ratio. Esp. if you use torrents on a regular basis you should just keep this one running for a few months. Everyone seeding is increasing its speed for those downloading it. If you care enough about other torrents to get a 2:1 ratio, why not about this one?
