I guess XMR will a princess in 2018. Because XMR did not much high this year. it will prepare.

XMR will.. be a princess in 2018?

Meh, that still makes more sense than half the price predictions and graphs in here.

Lol yeah, I think this one is a real person! But it did much high this year! Tongue
8742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 17, 2017, 03:02:33 PM
This one worked for me . https://--btgwallet.online/

Good idea, lets all trust the n00b account spamming links to drop your private keys for fools gold.

Thats indeed cocky

Yes it is and that is because I have been here long enough to see these scammers use sockpuppet accounts to rip off all the n00bs that have been showing up so I now assume a n00b account is a thief until I see otherwise. It is unfortunate as I was the fool that took people at their word until proven otherwise but this space has made me jaded. When it comes to money the criminals abound. you would be well served to heed this warning.

please send all your BTC to a new wallet before you try to claim your BTC Gold. And it does not matter which tool you are using. if you do this all the scammers will get a private key / seed to an empty BTC wallet.

Good point.

Just to clarify: So if I send all my BTC to a new wallet, the BTG will remain on the old one?

Yes if it had those funds on the time of the snapshot. BTG is nothing more than a copy of the blockchain with code changed to add a pre-mine and change the algo. It was delayed because during that time replay attack code was needed, which was available from btc repository, but they were too incompetent to integrate that code for weeks. Just as an FYI many alts did integrate that same code quickly and with no issues.

BTW I don't have much time in my life so I do not write out long explanations any longer and that is why you will just see short quips from me but you will find if you heed them you will be the better off for it. I have saved alot of people alot of time effort and pain by pointing out stuff n00bs would have gotten rekt by. And your welcome that I just spent 5 minutes of my life explaining this too you a total stranger. <<-- was that too cocky for you? Smiley
8743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 17, 2017, 02:44:18 PM
I have more than 5 moneros stucked on my portfolio, i bought them all at $125 (0.015 btc a few days ago) and now the price of each one has dropped to $120 but the equivalent of bitcoin is 0.013 btc per monero.
I am losing a lot of money, i dont know what to do guys, should i sell now to cut that loss or just hold them for a while? i am not trying to get more USD value, i just want to have more bitcoins.
but this situation is stressing me a lot, i dont know what to do at the moment, i really trust in monero but maybe it is not a good moment to invest in altcoins.

My friend, a few words of advice:

1) If you can't stomach a mild drop from 0.015 to 0.013, please just cash out of crypto-currencies as soon as you are back in profit (which I believe you are already now since we are at 0.0158 at the time of me typing this). Crypto-currencies are not for you and you will have a much happier life with less stress if you just leave this thing all together.

2) Don't invest any amount you are not willing to write off entirely. Crypto-currencies is gambling except even riskier because no one knows what the odds of winning this game is. At least when you buy a lottery ticket or gamble at the casino you can calculate the theoretical odds of winning.

3)"i just want to have more bitcoins." This is your biggest mistake. The correct way to think is, "i just want to have more Monero." That is my sole motto in life and it has serve me well so far Tongue.

4) Also, never ever take any financial / trading advise from anyone in the Monero Speculation thread here. Including all the above advise I just typed - please disregard it. I am dead serious here - trust no one (especially on BitcoinTalk).

Ohh, you just had to say what I said only in a respectful manner! For shame (on me). Well said, I need to stop letting these type posts frustrate me. Lol Smiley

I bought some moneros with my free BTG, seemed like a logical trade at these prices

It is, If I had some (have no clue but it would have been on polo) then I would have done the same exact thing. I can't believe it isn't at zero yet, there is something weird going on with that scam that I'm not seeing.

Move it along then. I've got both my BTC and fiat ready, but it looks like we'll be hitting a 2 BN Market Cap first?

So 90 USD at 0.006 equates to $15K per bitcoin. How long do I need to wait for that to happen?

SoonTM

Dammit! I was traveling and my phone broke so couldn't make any changes to lineup. I would've played Antonio Brown, of course. There went 42 points!  Angry

Unbelievable, you have had the worst luck but on the bright side my team will be tied with you again soon! Cheesy

Bitcoin, Litecoin Devs May Integrate Monero’s Confidential Transactions

https://themerkle.com/bitcoin-litecoin-devs-may-integrate-moneros-confidential-transactions/

Most cryptocurrency users acknowledge that both Bitcoin and Litecoin lack serious privacy features. Neither of these popular currencies mask user identities completely, whereas altcoins such as Monero do exactly that. It turns out we may see some of Monero’s technology show up in both Bitcoin and Litecoin soon. Confidential Transactions are an option well worth exploring by the developers of both currencies. It’s an interesting situation, to say the very least............

Can Confidential Transactions (CT) Power Bitcoin Past Privacy Coins?

http://www.cryptoanalyst.co/2017/11/17/ct-power-bitcoin-past-privacy-coins/?ref=rcrypto

Well it looks like the drooling masses will be catching on now.

As Litecoin creator Charlie Lee noted just days ago, fungibility is the “only feature of good money that Bitcoin/Litecoin is missing.”

I'm excited to see progress on Confidential Transactions. Fungibility is the only feature of good money that Bitcoin/Litecoin is missing.

I look forward to adding this to Litecoin when it is ready. 🚀 And this can be done with a soft fork. Stay tuned!

    — Charlie Lee [LTC] (@SatoshiLite) November 14, 2017

We have been yelling Fungability from the rooftops for years but no your going to be told from every n00b that shows up in the scene all about it like it's some new idea. Lol

I'm not sure how it will work out though being added to such established chains?

@Smooth, can you explain how effective this would be on BTC?

Does anyone know if it would be mandatory or what mixing level they would enforce and how they would deal with the massive bloat it would add? Do they see the new block reduction (forgot the name dammit) thats being discussed as an offset?

So lets see you bought at 125 and it is now worth 120, that is 5 usd per coin lost. 5 times 5 is 25, so you are down $25. Do understand this is stressing you out so much that you have lost all trust in a coin you bought one day ago? And you need us to tell you what to do? So you want random internet people to tell you how to gamble your money when losing $25 is stressing you?

You my friend are heading to a coronary, I hope you don't eat bacon.

Edited: w0w I'm sorry it is "more than 5", does that mean less than 6?

What is the link to the BTC/BTG pair on hitbtc? A scamcoin on a scam exchange is no surprise and I'm not going to make an account there. I checked the market list and do not see it listed so whats the link?
I seen this link only https://hitbtc.com/exchange/BTG-to-BTC

Haven't "play" with BTG, but you can check their progress on Coinmarketcap, and so far, HITBTC has the highest volume.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-gold/#markets
it seems that only HITBTC provide this trading, if any chance to buy BTG, I will think again to buy it.

Thanks for the direct link, it wasn't listed on market page.

8751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network Now Supports Transactions Across Blockchains on: November 17, 2017, 02:21:36 AM
Please let me know if I am missing something. The lightning network can be deployed on any crypto that is forked from bitcoin's codebase. So that involves lots of other altcoins except Litecoin.

Litecoin is based on Bitcoin.

Isn't it?

"The Lightning Labs development team successfully swapped testnet bitcoin for testnet litecoin through a lightning channel this week: ownership of the coins changed hands, while no transaction was recorded on either blockchain.

LTC was a fork of BTC with the algo switched to scrypt initially so as to make it asic proof. That didn't work out quite as expected but it is compatible with BTC code.

So afa I can tell Lightning is not ready on BTC network as this criteria is not done.

Code:
What Are The Steps Before A “Live” Test?

In addition to actually writing the Lightning code and defining the protocol, there are several features that need to be adopted into Bitcoin:

    OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY ( BIP 65 )
    OP_CHECKSEQUENCEVERIFY ( BIP 112 , which needs BIP 68 )
    Malleability fixes ( BIP 62 )

Did I miss something or is LTC just getting ready for when it's available?

8752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network Now Supports Transactions Across Blockchains on: November 17, 2017, 12:45:54 AM
Charlie Lee just tweeted this article, is this the reason for the sudden spike in LTC?

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/lightning-network-now-supports-transactions-across-blockchains/

Can this be done with a BTC soft fork or will it need a hard fork? It sounds interesting and it's nice to see LTC actually making some development headway other than adding bitcoin code or is this all that is happening? I don't follow BTC so I don't know if it is running lightning or not.

8754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold , A scam ? Please Help & Please Vote for the Poll on: November 17, 2017, 12:37:15 AM
Hello Everyone, i have recently invested in bitcoin gold when price was 400 dollar and was rising. So i thought of giving the shot  but since then the price is dumping like anything.

I was reading through twitter and facebook. Many people claiming it to be scam. I really would like to know from people whether its really a scam ? If i would move out now i may still save some dollar.

You mean you bought it? That was pretty stupid in my opinion but I doubt you actually bought any. Anyone who does even a simple google search can find pages of posts showing it is a scam. If you did buy it then your going to get dumped on and you deserve it for being stupid.
8755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think? on: November 17, 2017, 12:34:11 AM
The entire market is in the red. Everyone has lost money. What do you think?

It is quite simple actually, when BTC rallies Alts always fall as peops want to ride the wave and then when it falls they either cash out in fiat or go back to alts. There is a lot of capitol in alts that cannot be cashed into fiat for a multitude of reasons so the alt market will always recover as long as it exists which will probably be longer than BTC will exist.
8756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which exchanges are supporting bitcoin gold? on: November 17, 2017, 12:29:11 AM
As I understand it, most people are using HitBTC.

I do not see BTG on their market list at all so do you have the link to a BTG pair anywhere?

1 hour and 46 minutes to signup for the airdrop? W0w that has to be a record!

I'm thinking scam but I haven't had long enough to think about it.

Maybe a scam but not a record. Ethereum Ice had their airdrop signed up for in about a minute. Granted it was only to 100 people but still that was supremely quick. An hour seems like a lot of time for these free coins to get

snapped up!

I can't believe people buy into this shit, I have to check out that Ethereum Ice just for shits and grins.

Not a cost move, back to the sideways trading, maybe? I really can't understand that a old coin would have so much quantity, a lot of "senior members" all of a sudden speaking for it, the price stays exactly the same for several days on end. Take a look at Doge (urgh) in comparison, the thing is movement, not stagnation.Keep in mind Feathercon? g

Since no one else is answering, I feel a little sorry for you.  I will rise to the bait.

I think you haven't been around long or you would realise some people are more interested in a long term increase in value.

These people do tend to be 'senior' members, since they have learned much over time in crypto and have done well from picking coins early that have become considered the cream of crypto and made HUGE returns, such as Monero.

Mentioning Doge etc. in relation to Monero is really a bit silly.  I don't think you will find many people consider Doge to have been a good investment.

Good luck with your strategy of trading Doge, though - maybe one day you will have made enough you will be able to afford a decent position in a better investment.

Every Dodge has its day. Though we laughed at it and left it well alone there were times it went crazy and multiplied and we wondered.

Still that was very much in the past and the years haven't been kind.

Mined it and then sold them @280-300 Sats. It bought me a bunch of vid cards back then.

I think you are debating with a robot there - there seem to be a lot of weird newbie posts, containing randomness. They all have similar usernames, only post and don't reply

I just figured that one out - due to the post above you.

I made a thread in Meta for an option to block n00b accounts for these reasons and more.

Great job.

Alert, there are 3 coins ie IOTA, ETC and NEM are approaching Monero marketcap, I'm afraid the 3 coins will replace Monero and XMR will out of the top 10.

Who cares really? None of those are in the same marketspace.

now mine monero so hard

Those can not sustain the achievement in case if they over take marketcap of Monero. They need millions o dollars daily trading volume to be there which is very hard without being supported by large community and support. Monero has these two things so watch things is large perspective and you will not see anything to be worried about.

Agreed hope price will stable on 0.02 btc or high. As today xmr profit for less process mining

Monero For Good: How Mining Cryptocurrency Has Become a Philanthropic Venture

https://investfeededge.com/monero-good-mining-cryptocurrency-become-philanthropic-venture/

Monero (XMR/USD), unfortunately, has garnered a negative reputation due to it being caught up in darkweb dealings. However, new charities have found creative ways in which users can mine it (due to its Cryptonite algorithm closing the door to ASICs) using a fraction of their CPU power and donate it to worthy causes.

Bail Bloc is a charity initiative that looks to tackle the growing problem surrounding bail in the United States. It’s a product of The New Inquiry, and is currently working with the Bronx Freedom Fund – which is an organization built around helping New York City based individuals who’ve committed misdemeanors pay off their bail.

Bail Bloc’s program mines Monero, which is then exchanged for USD and donated to the Bronx Freedom Fund. Once January 2018 comes, the project will be routing funds to The Bail Project which covers over three dozen cities in the United States..........
