This year 2017 is a new start for bitcoin. Were only in the middle of the year but a lot things happen to it, everyweek theres a great news that is why the price skyrocket. Before we enter 2017 the price is at 900$, now 2300$ and by december 3500$.
And sometimes it is just days and another news comes in that it broke a four digit dollar mark again. This is really getting intense and also scary on my part. I have this thinking of what if it suddenly fall. People might get frustrated or worse, they will panic then suddenly sold their coins and wont come back. That will be a big hit and it will be hard to go back from that. |

This year? Could be. We are not even halfway of the whole year so anything is possible. Since it doubled its price from January until now then maybe something like near $5000 could be reached. Still that is a long way to run and anything could happen but I am looking for a big increase in the BER months that will come and the holidays to when they use much of online stores as giving gifts. |

If you want to buy some drugs using bitcoin then you can do that in the black market and you can easily buy drugs in a safe way because bitcoin is untraceable so the authorities will not able to track you down. Just go to the black market and prepare your bitcoin and deal with a legit seller then you can easily get your drugs  . Legit sellers? This is drugs business and illegal one. Do you really think you could easily find one who is legit? This things arebt the movies. People in the black market or whatever you call it dont just deal with anyone who came in. You will need some connections and they wont trust you easily for the reason that you might sell them to the authority. |

For me this is another way to save some money for my dream) I like it.
More people have started to use bitcoin to achieve their dreams come true. Also no other forms of saving is quite effective and gives growth in multiple percentage. This makes me consider it as an much valuable asset which has got varied usage. Correct. This is like an online banking system but way too better than what a bank gives for saving your money through them. Those who have started buying or investing at the $900 mark have already doubled their money within just months of waiting. With banks it takes years for what? 5%? Way too low and way too long. The difference is just the higher risk it will take when you choose bitcoin. |

With the recent rally in all the coins it is not easy to make any predictions,i used to assume how the price would rally every time in the past but right now the price is getting higher with time and now i am having time to come to this forum because i am not trading.It is impossible to predict the price right now.
It is impossible since it became populated. We dont know when someone will sell their coin or buy. If a group of investors does it at the same time we wont know what effect it could give and we dont know when it will happen. It will always be a surprise for everyone. Even just a little speculation that would spread can make a wave into the bitcoin price. I didnt have any idea it would come to this. |

If we don't have a bank account,earlier we would be called unbanked.But bitcoin allows us to be our own bank.Its one of the main reason for which i love bitcoin.Also unlike dollar,which is subject to inflation because of its unlimited supply,bitcoin is not subject to inflation because of its limited supply.Its an ever growing secured investment.
Smiled while reading this because it is all true. I am one person also without a bank account but with bitcoin I felt like I was the manager. Hell! even like a CEO in my own bank. This things makes us feel like we can control our money whenever we want. If we do it with more efficiently by knowing the full method and investment of BTC then it will be great source of income.
And I guess that's why OP is going to leave now his current job because he know that he has a good source of income with bitcoin. That's what I'm thinking now, if I can see that I can be good and stable into something then probably I'm going to leave my current job only if I'm experiencing maltreatment there. Everyone wants to be their own boss and want to work and earn according to their convenience and that is possible with bitcoins as it gives you an freedom to work on your time and at same time you can also get enough time to spend with your friends and family and if you discover best methods of earning bitcoins then it can surely exceed your income that you are getting from your job. It is possible with bitcoin but you need to think about it for so many times so that you will not regret in the end. First, with quitting your job, if you have a decent job why there's a need to quit on it. You are treated well and has a good salary. Last, that you did shift to bitcoin or crypto currency and you believed that you can have a decent job with it. So think about it first. One advice I want to share here is to never quit your day job. That way , if you are earning with bitcoin, you will have multiple stream of income. And that is great. It will also enable us to have financial freedom (multiple stream of income) and secure our future. There's one thing I can say, if you want to shift to bitcoin for a full time job. And you have a decent job, yes don't quit on it if they are treating you well. But if you can't take it anymore and they are treating you inhuman, then it's the right time to quit that job. Since you have knowledge in bitcoin and you have source, take up the chance. People don't quit jobs they quit supervisors as in most of the companies your superior doesn't behave with you in proper way and there is lots of politics involved when it comes to promotion and sometimes you feel that you are wasting your time by working there and if you have same feeling then its better to quit your job. Okay. That is right but not all the time that is the reason. There are people who just quits when they think they cant do the job. It is not the same reason all the time. If you can manage to have the same income as your day job or better then it will be alright. As of now, I would rather do both while I am still young, not wasting too much time on games and other stuffs that just eats up your spare time. |

I really think that there is a future for Bitcoin except that I fear it may crash because of the ever increasing need for power to keep the blockchain going. Is my fear justified?

Simple for me. If you dont fear the crash then you will not be a good investor or even a trader. There should always be a doubt with something specially to a new invesment. That is telling yourself you are wise but you just dont feel it. Regarding the power usage I think I have read something about natural energy which will provide for the high power needed. |

I have been trying to deposit/withdraw fiat into different exchanges, and I found that most fees are absolutely ridiculous (7%-10%?!). With many options to deposit/withdraw fiat (and different fees), I think we are getting a bit greedy with Bitcoin.
According to Bitcoin price at the moment, depositing fiat worth of 1BTC ($2,053) requires fees ranging between $21-$205, while most of us want to transact that same 1BTC with something like $0.5 and getting rage over the delay!
I think paying $1-$5 in fees is relatively acceptable, since bitcoin price is rising every single day.
Okay you are right the $1-5 is acceptable but no more higher. It is way above than it was before. It also increased in just a short time with a short notice. I guess those spam cant deal with that kind of large transaction fee so they will stop and we could clear up the traffic out there when everyone is paying the right price. |

If that is that simple it would have been done already.
There are so much spam in the transaction that made it worse. A part of it is actually our fault as users and the others are for greed. They want more. Why not? Bitcoin is going up and having more will be a pleasant thing for them.
If this remedy is really the cure for it someone must do it first and maybe the rest will follow.

Yes others sees bitcoin now as a bad investment but what did that news break through? Those people who didn't even know what bitcoin is suddenly got an idea to what it is. That dream of getting rich with bitcoin already happened with some holders here.
Imagine if you came at $350 and bought just even just 10 bitcoins. Hell that is now $21000. Ergh! If I have that I might be panicking now. But I am one of those just low holders and still aiming for a better number of bitcoins until I retire.
What about those who have larger than 10. Where are they now? Hawaii?

Have you predicted higher than 2k? I didnt have that prediction but I did believe it can grow more. With the amount of bitcoin to be mined getting lower and lower it will become rare. As far as I know rare items are supposed to be valuable. Bitcoin did soar that high amount and keeps on doing it. I guess there are still many investors coming even with a high price. |

nothing is certain about the future not about bitcoin and not about anything else. but bitcoin is an open source project that developers are working on it, so it is improving over time and if you are thinking about anything particular that you think can be a problem in the future (as there are many topics about it), i am sure there will be a solution for it.
It is true that bitcoin future will experience both positive and negative sides. Because as the day goes by new problems may be found on bitcoin transaction and security. But the sure thing is the development and changes on bitcoin will never stop because it is inevitable. For now the developers could strengthen the security of bitcoin and develops its transaction for more people to get engage to bitcoin investments and businesses. The price of bitcoin will also change as more people will be on in using bitcoin and be open on accepting bitcoin in the future as it develops. Development and changes or upgrade, all of that should be done immediately before we lose a number of users who are getting tired of the high fees. This is new to everyone or maybe a good explanation should be spread to make sure that this will change soon. They might go back to the way they do their transactions instead of just using bitcoin. |
