881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Opinion Needed] What do you want to see in a gambling site review? || 2 on: July 13, 2020, 05:16:37 PM
Since you were asking in the other thread, I will put my suggestions here. But it's all about betting, because I am not into that casino stuff (I just use the free spins you get from time to time^^). And I am not really using review sites, I like to check the sites on my own and I often find these reviews very non-telling tbh. Aaaaaaaaaaaand I don't like ref-links Grin

In a review (about a bookmaker) I would like to see:

  • Information about the vig.
  • Information about general staking limits (can be general like low, medium, high etc.)
  • The odds provider they use.
  • A hint about how fast you get limited.
  • If they are frontrunners with publishing their odds.

In general I would like to see following pages/features:

  • A betting agent review site (with partners, fees, deposit/withdraw options etc.)
  • A page with general industry news.
  • A (frequently updated) overview of bookmakers and their mirror sites, where you are allowed to open an account too.
  • An overview of bookmakers and the odds provider they use.
  • A list of bookies to avoid.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Art of Exploiting vs the Bad Habit of Scamming on: July 13, 2020, 01:43:18 PM
Bookies are not balancing their books like that.

E.g., You cannot move the odds so easily, especially with a limited account and small bets.

You can Smiley I am talking about niche markets here and early odds. I experienced it myself, without doing anything bad. It was just a super value bet (in my eyes), so I placed max bet multiple times in a short period of time and after each bet, the odds went down automatically.

The bookmakers use flagged accounts all the time to help them shape their (early) odds, before they up the general limit. Same reason why SBO changed their policy/limits some time ago, they get cheap information from the sharps that way. But you can't put the limits too low or they are not interested anymore. So your $1-$5 limit is somewhat correct, but the very good books limit their best players just to the point, where they will still stick around. They are very valuable to them.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Art of Exploiting vs the Bad Habit of Scamming on: July 13, 2020, 12:53:31 PM
Back then, a particular provider was significantly slower (5+ minutes) than the rest and all bookies using it was 'going behind' the odds movements - ups or downs. Soon after many people started exploiting this, the bookies changed their TOS and started cancelling bets.

...which is pathetic imo Roll Eyes They (the provider) should have just fixed the issues on their end, instead of kind of forcing their customers to bully their customer/punters then. But I guess the bookies liked that "tool" in the end Wink

Another scenario, which would only work in smaller markets/sports though:

You have a flagged and heavily limited account in a bookmaker. Early odds come out, player A vs player B, 1.80 - 2.00. You want to bet on player B, but with higher odds. So with your flagged account you bet on player A multiple times max stake (because of the limit, you can't stake a lot though). Odds move of course, and are maybe 1.60 - 2.40 then. That is when a friend of you with unflagged/unlimited account places max bet on that 2.40.

Into what kind of category would that fall ? Exploit ? Scam ? Market manipulation ?
884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Betting & Discussion] Chinese Basketball Association - Rest of 2019/2020 Season on: July 13, 2020, 11:48:44 AM
For tomorrow the totals for Guangdong - Bayi looked a bit too high at 211.5. Now the line is at 206.5 and I wouldn't be surprised to see the game finish in the 207-211 points window.

Edit: Now the line is back to 211.5, this should be fun to witness.

This finished with 224 points in the end, so false alarm.

But since I talked about strange things happening in CBA and maybe even bookmakers being involved, this is what happened in Tianjin - Liaoning match today:

During the second half, Pinnacle offered HC lines of +46,5/-46,5, while Bet365 had +54,5/-54,5. This is rather strange with 8 point difference. Tianjin was fighting till the end, even tried to steal the ball in the closing stages etc. With being 52 down and only like 20sec left, they stopped defending and gifted Liaoning a three-pointer with 12sec left. They stopped playing with these 12sec left and the game finished 78-133 FT, HC-54,5 won, which was a super poor bet to place, when you can get -46,5 elsewhere. But Bet365 "knew" how this game would end and trapped their customers into placing +54,5, which looked super value.

In Tongxi - Shandong game (110-125 FT), we had one player of Tongxi scoring all their 21pts in first quarter and he finished with scoring 74pts in the end, lol.

No bragging, but I played this bet when the odds came out:

At tip-off, the odds were like this:

Source: https://www.oddsportal.com/basketball/china/cba/

This league is crazy and often times the bookmakers have no clue, while otoh sometimes they have a very good clue what will happen, as you can see in Liaoning game Wink
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: July 13, 2020, 11:12:46 AM
If I am not mistaken somebody had 13 or 14 correct picks on American Football MM, that was one hell of accomplishment since all the odds were similar without clear favorites.

I finished 2nd place in that one. With the last pick remaining, I needed the Patriots to select an offensive player to take home the 300mBTC without having to split them, but they selected defensive player of course Grin

In December last year, it was the same scenario. Needed the draw in this match as last game in that edition of MM to have all 300mBTC for me alone:

Source: https://www.flashscore.com/match/bRrzhids/#match-summary

We were four co-leaders and those three split the 300mBTC between them with the Napoli win. So draw would have put me at the top, but nope Cheesy
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 13, 2020, 09:43:50 AM
I played over 15.5 classified riders @1.85 in F1 this weekend for medium stakes.

17 cars classified. If Leclerc actually had a brain, it would have been a lot easier (most likely), but anyway the bet was won.

A friend of mine played Perez tb Norris and was fuming when that collision happened near the end. Well, thats betting Grin
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: July 13, 2020, 09:34:38 AM
I had an awful start and quickly lost interest then as so often Cheesy But just checked and I actually got 7 correct in the end, which is not too bad. I really like the MM, because is exciting, when you are near the top of the leaderboard on Saturday evening; the only problem is, that it's a very rare occasion for me and then I find this whole thing somehow annoying. Then you go through the match results and always ask yourself why the hell you picked home win, when away win was so obvious Roll Eyes

tyKiwanuka, if possible leave the 400 chips for todays tourney, my bad for missing out and I already had plans on buying in for each one Smiley

Ok, done and thanks for the donation. If there is still "room" available to move them to future tournaments, that is what I normally do, unless the user explicitly states that he wants to donate them. Only if a user paid upfront for all tournaments, I consider them donations until/unless a refund is requested.
889  Economy / Gambling / Re: #3 Bitcointalk Poker Series (0.05 BTC & BIG BTC Ticket sponsored by SwC Poker) on: July 12, 2020, 09:01:51 PM
Gratz @Steamtyme Smiley But also to @Globb0 for strong 2nd place, vamos Cool

The standings after 3/8 tournaments:

@Trofo likes his 15th place, third time in a row !
@morvillz7z caught up with @SyGambler and is now tied at the top of the rankings for most itm finishes with 7.
@Betwrong got a good streak running with finishing in the points 11 times in a row, chapeau.

The lottery pool passed the 10k chips mark today and thus we have 2 prizes now, but only 5.5k per prize as it stands. It won't get lower though Wink

Nooooooooo I missed my first tourny  Cry

Yep, we are down to four players who participated in every tournament thus far:

I moved your 400 extra chips from today to tournament #6.

@CryCryptoCry

Please send the 1000 chips you got for the Independence Day Wildcard back to me until Wednesday the latest. My SwC handle is: EnterScreenN
890  Economy / Gambling / Re: #3 Bitcointalk Poker Series (0.05 BTC & BIG BTC Ticket sponsored by SwC Poker) on: July 12, 2020, 11:16:59 AM
Is there a way for me to check on previous tournament I have joined to check on who won the game? Cant seems to find it

I normally more or less live-update the sheet during the tournament, but last Sunday I left after I was eliminated, sorry. In general you can just check the "Screenshots" tab in the sheet to quickly check the results. Or, if you play with the client, you can just leave the tournament lobby window open and check the result when you come back.

I am in for tomorrow, but I haven't learned anything more this week lol

I saw you getting involved with a lot of marginal hands in the last tournament and losing some chips here, some chips there, which then adds up to you being short-stack soon. I would recommend to stick with premium-ish hands while you are still in the learning phase, which you seemed to do better in first tournament - you always need some luck as well of course. And accept that you are beat, even when you had a premium starting hand - the very good players are able to make huge laydowns, although it hurts. Let your winners run and cut your losses short they say in betting; so the advanced players have kind of mastered the art of losing few while being beat and winning a lot when things to their way.

If you are trying your luck too much with marginal hands, the better players will always eat you alive. Playing more tight requires some discipline and patience, and this is not everyone's strength and bores the hell out of some people, but for beginners it's the better approach imo, although others might disagree.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Poker Series format discussion - Let's keep them all in one place. on: July 12, 2020, 10:42:03 AM
I am fine with whatever number of participations it will be to qualify, can be 1 as well. When putting up the 5/8, I had in mind that it would be an additional incentive to the lottery to join the tournaments regularly. But the prize pool for small final is actually indeed too low to make that a target-worthy.
As it seems, neither the lottery nor anything else could attract more players, so I guess we should be happy with any (new) players who decide to join any given tournament.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 12, 2020, 10:25:49 AM
As some of you might have heard, there are some MLB players that opted out of the shortened 2020 season. Only a few until now, but I expect more to come. Zimmerman from the Nationals stated the following:

Quote
I have a 3-week-old baby,'' Zimmerman wrote. "My mother has multiple sclerosis and is super high-risk; if I end up playing, I can pretty much throw out the idea of seeing her until weeks after the season is over. There's a lot of factors that I and others have to consider. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer; it's everybody's individual choice
Source: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29384355/nationals-ryan-zimmerman-joe-ross-opt-2020-season

I think this is also a scenario that is very likely to happen in NFL and something that could put the NFL season in jeopardy, if you have too many players refusing to play or some bigger names opting out. As said above Baseball is easier to handle Corona-wise than Football, so I am not that sure anymore about the chances of no season at all being "next to zero" Tongue

I think we can get 10, but if we need 1-2, i remember ChiBitCTy had a fantasy league going on, maybe some of those guys might be interested?

I left a post in that thread noticing them about our interest to start a league for next season.
893  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🏈 2019 Bitcointalk NFL Fantasy Football League- (Full) 🏈 on: July 12, 2020, 10:24:16 AM
Hey guys Smiley We are thinking about having FF league for this upcoming season in our little 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈. We have 6 guys who confirmed their interest thus far, but could use some more players. Maybe we could join forces or some of you would also be interested in joining our league in addition ?
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Art of Exploiting vs the Bad Habit of Scamming on: July 12, 2020, 09:45:43 AM
Thanks for all your posts and opinions, I wish I had more merits to send Smiley And when it looks like I argue against your points/opinions, this is not personally against you and probably not even my own opinion, but to keep a discussion going and have different point-of-views, so don't be mad with me Grin

Exploits take advantage of "mistakes" while scamming takes advantage of "ignorance". You can argue that mistakes and ignorance are the same, but ignorance only becomes a mistake once you know about it. If you were ignorant beforehand, it isn't a mistake, but rather ignorance.

This would actually mean that LAngel's case wasn't a scam, since Bitcasino knew about the software issue and even knew the person was a bad actor, as they stated:

Quote
This is not the first encounter we’ve had with this person and this was made crystal clear when we uncovered a 100% match to a previous user
who had been investigated and subsequently blocked for tampering with games.
(...)
Previously, this user managed to extract a large amount of BTC from ourselves and also hit a few other crypto casinos in a very similar manner.
Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5260832.msg54754514#msg54754514

So maybe the very first attempt was a scam, but all things that happened afterwards probably not according to the above definition. Just remains the question, if he made the following "scams" with the "same cheated" money.

Well, bookmakers have the right to not pay a bet since it could be an error of listing or because they are suspecting a rigged match.
I mean, they feel free to adapt and making what they want since you're using their service and accepting a TOS.

Absolutely not. You offered your bet = your bet has been accepted by some other one.

And this is something, which I find kind of "unfair", if that makes any sense. I know there is no way around it, but it's the same scenario. It's just that I am a private person with no T&C and no possibility to cancel/void an accepted bet, while bookmakers are always protected by their T&C and can basically do anything they want. Something which @Upgrade00 stated as well.

I will definitely take advantage of it, again, this is an exploit, it is a cheat. But, I can tell you, I will never be able to sleep for a while that is why I can just say that  I will take advantage of it but, to be honest, I won't. Did I know this beforehand or I accidentally found it? Either way, I might take 1 bet or 2 before reporting this.

If you did a huge scam, there is always the question, if you actually could enjoy the money - I know for myself I couldn't.

Then one could also think about who the person is, who is scamming. If it's some poorer guy, who regularly scams smaller amounts from a (rich) casino site to feed some hungry mouths or send his kids to school, then a lot of people would probably be ok with it. If it's a person who has enough money (well, what is enough money) and just scams money to buy things he doesn't need, then most people wouldn't be ok with it I guess.

And then there would always be a judgement according to whom you actually harm with a scam. There surely is some difference in public opinion about scamming a bank, an insurance, a casino or a private person.

2) By accident you discover that a bookmaker allows to parlay 1X2 and Asian Handicap market, which is of course a software issue. So you could parlay home win with AHC -0.5 for all kind of matches, which will give you good value odds. Is it ok to parlay these two dependant bets ?

I would take it.

I'm betting on an outcome on the odds given by the bookie.

I am surprised by this answer, since I find this at the very least immoral. The difference between 2) and 3) is not that big on paper imo, and for 3) you clearly say "scam". You said:

If the conditions are set in my favor due misknowledge or else, it's not my problem.

....but if you can parlay 1X2 and AHC, I don't think you can assume "misknowledge or else" and thus it must be software issue (by human error, i.e. this being allowed to be parley'd). If it's really misknowledge, then that bookie should look for new personnel maybe Wink Cheesy Probably this is a bit apples and oranges with slots/betting though (?). Or I am not familiar enough with slots.

Quote
1) Lets start with a simple example, a football match, which is offered by every bookmaker you can imagine. There is breaking news, that team A will miss a lot of their players due to a flu. Odds are dropping like crazy in all bookmakers, but there is one bookmaker that is slow and has bad software. While all bookmakers only offer 1.40-ish for team B anymore, that bookmaker still has the initial 2.00 for them. Is it ok to bet on this 2.00 ? What if a bookmaker is constantly slow with adjusting odds and you could regularly do it ? Not for 2.00 -> 1.40, but maybe 2.00 -> 1.80.

No. I will skip.

It's borderline. Bookie being slow is not my fault. Yet, the bookie will then cancel the bet anyway.

If a bookie cancels a 2.00, when it's 1.80-ish everywhere else after a drop, then it's the bookie scamming imo. As you say, it's their fault and they should just take it on the chin and try to improve. I had information advantage and they can't punish me for that.
Even the 2.00 (that goes down to 1.40 in other places), I wouldn't expect to get cancelled, unless you put huge amounts on it. Did you experience these bets getting cancelled regularly ?
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Betting & Discussion] Chinese Basketball Association - Rest of 2019/2020 Season on: July 11, 2020, 09:25:50 PM
Guangdong is unbelievable indeed but unpredictable as well. You never know when they will go full throttle Smiley

Yes. You can find some patterns, if you follow everything closely, watch the games live and make your own calculations, but there are still some weird things happening, where the teams are not doing, what they are supposed to do Grin Guangdong is just toying with their opponents and it could backfire in the PO - maybe.

The following rounds will get interesting, because certain teams probably don't want to finish at certain table positions. So we could see some strange results Wink

There was a good bet for tomorrow when odds came out, but the lines have moved and it's not worth to recommend now anymore, because most likely the value is gone.

This bet was Tianjin +10.5. By the time I posted here, the line was down to +7.5. Game finished 116-107, so initial bet won, but if I would have recommended the lower line, it would have lost. Every point in CBA matters^^ And this is also an example, where I believe there is some fixing going on more often than not, because all middles won, like they do so often (at least it feels like it Cheesy).

For tomorrow the totals for Guangdong - Bayi looked a bit too high at 211.5. Now the line is at 206.5 and I wouldn't be surprised to see the game finish in the 207-211 points window.

Edit: Now the line is back to 211.5, this should be fun to witness.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 11, 2020, 09:09:26 PM
Well, that was indeed a crazy finish. Poorly defended by Ingolstadt in the end, but I am glad they didn't make it, since a) I can't stand their coach and b) Nürnberg makes 2. Bundesliga more attractive. Both games combined, Nürnberg somehow deserved to stay in the league, although in that second half we saw the "old" Nürnberg, who basically fell apart out of nowhere. Lets see, if Wiesinger will (be allowed to) continue, my bet goes on Dieter Hecking to coach the team for next season, lets see.

Some fresh odds for next season already up:

Source: https://sports.tipico.com/all/1101/30201/769510

Surprised to see Düsseldorf at the top there, but probably correct, since Hamburg is struggling financially. However hard to judge until some transfers were made and we see the rosters shaping up. And as always there will be a team that surprises everyone (Bochum ? St. Pauli ?).
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 11, 2020, 05:15:18 PM
Ingolstadt played rather cautious as expected, but I placed a bet on over 1.5 now @2.20 and put another order in for higher odds. Ingolstadt has to open up in the second half and get more aggressive and this will result in more space for Nürnberg. Would be nice, if Ingolstadt scored the lead, then I easily see a second goal coming. Nürnberg taking the lead would take all tension out of the game at this point, but with Ingolstadt not caring any more then, we could still see more goals.

Nice to have some selections of the multimaster put in here but it's mostly designated to stake bets and wagers. Smiley

Hehe, yes. Sorry for hijacking this thread Grin I realized my mistake but was too lazy to put in the correct thread Grin And then I thought, that other users could use my MM selections anyway to oppose me, which should result in good profits. Won't happen again (I hope !).
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 11, 2020, 11:46:23 AM
in those terms, backing trump at 2.76 is a good bet IMO. considering how much time is left before the election and the possible narratives that could develop over that time, i'm beginning to lose hope we'll see 3.00 or higher.

When following the news this week, it was the first time that I thought: Ok, there is no way in this world that this guy gets re-elected Cheesy

But then again, with Trump seemingly digging himself a deeper hole every day, his odds are still only 2.76, which is very telling imo. Just imagine the US somehow gets back to a situation like there is in most parts of Europe right now; the odds will go down like crazy.
But I am hesitant to jump in as long as the situation is still looking to get worse. ICU beds in CA, TX, FL are filling up and with Italy-like footage and pics being shown, I am not sure, if 2.76 is really the top.
