881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 05, 2024, 01:30:43 PM
Only South Korea and Japan can compete with Cape Verde, and for the record, Cape Verde is one of Africa's worst football nations.
Not gonna comment for the rest but Japan is a top team and I would watch them over any African team anytime. They play just the kind of football I like and are in top form at the moment. They were freely scoring against many top European countries and they have much better tactical awareness then African teams.

I must admit I am not watching African football and while they have some top talent those matches I watched almost always leave me disappointed. There were so many poor games and tactical errors in last AFCON, I really hope this one will be much better.

New article is up guys. This one took a bit longer than anticipated to find its way from my keyboard up to the sportsbet.io website  Grin

https://sportsbet.io/sports/soccer/news/bitcoin-sports-fanatics-league-round-10
Nice article but you forgot to say that I won additional 30 USDT side bet with Igebotz and I am waiting to receive this sweet coins from him  Grin

Next few rounds are going to be tough for everyone, with 15 maximum points things could look much different in the end of the season.

That is not official BSFL stuff and has no place in the article Smiley I only mentioned friendlies this week as a way to make more people use the opportunity. Not gonna be mentioned again until we have some blank round.

Problem is article should have been live on Tuesday morning when there was still time to organize those friendly games.

I don't follow water polo to know about Hungary and Greece. All I know is that Hungary was once a strong nation in water polo. Maybe they are following Croatia footsteps.
They won last 3 against Greece, one of which was wold championship final last year. So they were top shelf last year and I don't what changed in those few months to make such discrepancy to odds. You can get even +3.5 handicap today which is really a lot in men's water polo between two good sides.

Regarding Spain, I think that is another point for me. Spain has been rising in waterpolo and we have been falling. Best showcased by our H2H, we are leading 7:5 but last 4 games was won by Spain.

Yeah, I know that Spain is getting much better and we are getting worse as time goes by. But I expect Croatia to put more effort than usual as it's played at home and in Dubrovnik which citizens are mad about waterpolo. Looking at the odds, bookies agree with you but I hope you all will be proven wrong Grin
To be fair bookies don't agree with me. Bettors do. When cryptofrka was making the question he told me odds were 2.1 on Spain. I did not check them until today but if that is right they have dropped a lot. My bet from today has them at 1.65. And odds changes are reflection of betting markets.

While we are at the waterpolo topic, I am too lazy to do research but I don't know why Greece is favorite against Hungary and a big one. Handicap on Hungary seems like free money for me unless there is some news that Hungary is boycotting the championship or they removed their whole team.

Damn that Ivan Martin with his goal in 91st minute. I already counted 1 point and then he had to ruin everything and now Trofo is in the lead. Thankfully, Serbia god kicked out of the United cup so that question will be the same for the two of us. Now Croatia has to win against Spain which will be tough, but I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to win in front if their fans.
Did you watch the game? First half Girona played great football and could have scored even more goals, only some really composed finishing from Morata kept Atletico in the game. Did not watch the second but if it was similar than point for Atletico would have been a steal.

Did not know how the game would actually finish but I was sure there will be goals in it. After my tickets with both to score and over 2.5 goals passed did not need to watch anymore Smiley

888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: January 03, 2024, 09:06:59 PM
Girona is facing Atletico in this round, will be interesting to see will this small break have influence on their form or not
I think we are going to see goals in this match, Girona is missing some players today but they managed to have the best attack in La Liga.
This could be good chance for Atletico to come back in race for championship title and reduce the gap from top two clubs, even more if Real dont win against Mallorca today.
I may be bad at this pool but at least I am making money on Girona every week. Can't believe bookies did not start to drop the odds on them.

Both to score was 1.65 which was free money. Had it on all tickets. Then I also took both to score and over 2.5 goals which was over 1.9. and of course both passed in first 30 minutes.

Granted Koke gave away second goal to Girona way to easy.

Send me tx id over PM and I will send you joining details.

plan to join for sure, and as I understood there is no free lunch for all-timers Smiley
just a question, is it possible to have fee deducted from my weekly campaign payment? just for the sake of transaction fee (maybe some more participants from your campaign will join, and you can add all these to one transaction, if they also choose to have deduction from campaign payment)

if not, I will send payment other way, probably on Tron

edit: it is fine to just send pool transaction this week, and rest to send with next week campaign, so that you don't have one more address in transaction Smiley, just a bit of paperwork for you
Possible for sure, now that you brought it up it is open for others as well. Please let me know if you want it handled that way.
Tagging some of you that I feel could use this offer

I will deserve the right to pay the rest to your wallets immediately or next week depending on mempool state on Sunday.

Congrats to Spack17 for winning GW 20 and 1 mBTC free bet. Salah captain and Areola on goal were two decisions that made it possible for him. Not counting Palmer since I don't think anyone from top positions is going without him.

106 points is quite impressive. Areola was in my squad too. However I chose Alvarez as the captain instead of Salah as I thought that Alvarez had a potential to make a hat-trick this week. Besides Harkorede also had a quite nice week with 104 points. He was just unlucky as he missed 1mbtc free bet by 2 points.

By the way the competition for the lead is really heated. There is only a gap of 3 points between the leader Trofo and the 3rd placed som3aa.

Well, that actually means you are in the lead at the moment. I pulled transfers on both Salah and Son which is -4 for me and puts me in 3rd place   Grin

We are all doing exceptionally well. Top 100k is much better off than I ever was at this stage. Last year it was 2M or something like that and still I managed to get respectible rank and 2nd place in the pool. I don't know how to play from leading position so maybe better I let someone else up there until GW 30 or so.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: January 03, 2024, 04:41:04 PM
But if we only choose 1, AFCON please! We want games people watch and I don't think we've got that many Asian timezone peeps (sorry guys, majority haha).
It is AFCON, it is the deal I made with Sportsbet and seems to me there isn't much we loose by avoiding Asian cup.

Regarding Asian cup, only thing I would consider is that if Superbru has it and we have about half of the buy ins in Tether that we use all the money collected in USDT for rewards in that one. It would be much smaller pot for sure. All 50 sponsorship mBTC are going to AFCON for sure.

If somebody has problems with the payment let me know and we can probably make some kind of the deal. Also if you are paying in BTC try to pool your fees with a buddy or two. For instance I am having a bet in BSFL with two guys and if I loose I will propose to pay this pool for them.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 03, 2024, 04:14:15 PM
Sponsorship:

I am pleased to announce that Sportsbet.io will be sponsoring us this year as well. Big thanks to them and Steve in particular.

50 mBTC for the end of competition prizes
0.5 or 1 mBTC free bets for round winner, depending on how many players we get. Threshold is 20

Buy in
1 mBTC or equivalent in USDT at the time of paying. Rounded to the nearest full dollar.

I am escrow on following BTC address:
bc1q53hhdvpgm6mwgqutgnzup4pk25lw4z6fqxlqye

buwaytress is our USDT escrow on following TRON address:
TWdUP82gVw5JVw1VQgFAKGPVhCP87AxZou

Last time this pool was free for participants of sportsbet pools this time I decided to have buy in since we have much better rewards and additional buy ins will make them even better. You have an option on paying in BTC or USDT over tron network. Hope everything is clear and I am sure nobody can object to buwaytress being USDT escrow.

Send me tx id over PM and I will send you joining details.

Prizes:
Will be determined when I know how many people are playing on the currency they paid in. They will be spread in similar fashion to my other pools.

I signed up to AFCON pool thank you for the invite. I must have missed something about it though cause I didn't see any fees just the email invite?
There is a whole topic on AFCON. I did not create a new one, I decided to use the one from 2 years ago where we have some history, same as for La Liga and Serie A. All further AFCON discussion can go there:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5379265.msg63433813#msg63433813

Regarding Email invite, it was auto sent from Superbru, I recreated the pool there and had an option to invite past participants which I used. That alone isn't enough to join the pool, I have to accept people and I will only accept people that sign up trough the thread and pay the fee if there is one. Still deciding on that Smiley

Lol honestly nobody cares about the Asian cup why?

1. Unfavourably timezones

2. Shitty players nobody want to watch.

Yeah, I agree on point 1 - but that's from our perspective.
I'm sure there are some people from Asia/Americas that watch that instead of the AFCON.

2nd point is valid as well if we look at average player quality. Then again - Tanzania, Mauritania etc are teams of equal quality of Lebanon, Thailand etc.

If you look througouth the WC history, I think that teams from Asia are almost as successful as the ones from Africa.
That being said, the last few AFCON's were boring AF.

I'd track the Asian tournament as well, but then again - I'll play whatever is decided.
Not gonna happen for few reasons and biggest one is first:
1. Superbru does not even have Asian cup, maybe it will show in the future but they did not have it in previous years I believe and tournaments are usually added about 3 weeks before they start
2. Problem to find a winner. Whatever solution I would make to add points wouldn't be fair from somebody point of view. There isn't a same number of games in both tournaments. Even worse for round winners if we have free bets and we probably will
3. I prefer to keep things simple where possible. If I am using Superbru then I am using it to the max, meaning all their tie breakers and stuff like that are used. Not gonna event new stuff where I don't think it is necessary

896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 02, 2024, 10:55:54 PM
Eh, my bench choices ruined me, lost 11 points just for thinking Raya would have an easier time than Ederson, etc etc. 1 point off the average and I'm taking another transfer penalty to offload AFC peeps, but I'm really here for the ride at this stage.

Am I dumb for inserting Palmer just because he seems cheap? (yes).

If I had Areola on instead of Raya for gw20, I would've had over 90 points which would've been my All time high in a single game week. But Raya has had his days and in those days, he got me Cleansheets. Biggest mistake this week was not believing in Salah despite being a Liverpool fan. I was satisfied that Watkins 2 assists returns until I saw those Salah and Palmer returns that I realized what I had missed. I still have another week to fight for that free bet now.
I have 22 points on the bench so my benching wasn't really on spot as well- Anyway I got rid of both Salah and Son in the end for -4, wanted to catch all price rises and now I have a team without single premium player and 11.3M in the bank. Don't think this ever happened to me before.

Congrats to Spack17 for winning GW 20 and 1 mBTC free bet. Salah captain and Areola on goal were two decisions that made it possible for him. Not counting Palmer since I don't think anyone from top positions is going without him.

897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: January 02, 2024, 06:13:59 PM
$50 is ok for me, but it may be a bit too much for others, not sure.
It will be paid pool, same fee for all. Chances of anybody joining that isn't already part of Sportsbet sponsored competition are minimal for sure. Still waiting to see how much will we get from Sportsbet exactly and then I will decide on the fee. Problem is BTC transactions are quite high at the moment and anything less than 1 mBTC sounds silly. That is also the reason why I am thinking about USDT over tron but not sure how popular it is and it will be a headache to do the prizes with funds mixed in two cryptocurrencies.

Even mempool.space is down at the moment. Afraid to even look what tx fee is at the moment then  Grin
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 02, 2024, 06:08:23 PM
Haha... Interesting. You are on holidays so you have time to do the research. I'm also on holidays but I have kids with me and my wife give me "the look" every time I open my laptop or turn on my mobile phone. So in the name of peace I did quick research while I was "doing my business" Grin I hope it will be enough to beat your unmotivated team.
In the end there was nothing to research except maybe tennis question. I took a couple of minutes there to check the draw and see which players decided to play for their countries this time around. I don't think anybody is taking a single match point against Djoković or Swiatek so I took them for the final.

Everything else answered by gut feeling.

Hey guys, not necroposting. I am making this one live again. Details will follow during the day but here are some main particulars:
*we will be Sportsbet sponsored, details soon
*still deciding on buy ins, let me know if you have some opinion, free for participants of other sportsbet pools or buy in around 50$ in BTC or USDT over TRON for transactions
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 02, 2024, 11:10:03 AM
It's quite interesting to see that we have some Tennis questions again, it's going to be an interesting end to this BSFL season, I reckon. I really have not figured out my answers yet, but since it's friendly match against a mediocre team Trofo, this should be a walk in the park for my team  Grin

It's funny to see that Trofo is playing against two teams. I know he will be fired up against me to revenge for a loss in the last friendly match that we played last season. I'm on a vacation so I don't have much time to research the answers, but it's not big if a deal when playing against Trofo Grin
Bring it up, as I already wrote before, biggest problem for my squad is motivation so we have mediocre performances until matched with league leaders or cocky upstarts  Cool Most weeks I just fill it up by gut feeling but today I am on holiday and i actually have time to do a bit of research in case I feel like it.

By the way I am starting Sportsbet sponsored AFCON pool later today so keep your eye out for that one in case you are interested.
