881  Other / Meta / Re: Do you check the merit history of users before meriting them? on: July 23, 2020, 04:55:40 PM

Lets suppose a persons post are average or below average but his one post is excellent. So you will not give him merit for that because his previous posts are not worthy of merits. This is a wrong approach. If you see a good post, it is best to merit it and do not care about his other posts history. Also i find it time wasting to check the posts history of the users before giving them merit.
You obviously misunderstood the question. This has nothing to do with checking the post history of a user. I briefly check a user's merit stats to see if and how he participates in the distribution of merits. Forget post history.

This can be done for Full members and above but for the Members or Jr. Members ,they don't have much merits to giveaway and you may not find them among those who send merits often.
By the way, how many smerits a person should send in last 120 days to become eligible for you to merit him ?
882  Other / Meta / Re: Do you check the merit history of users before meriting them? on: July 23, 2020, 04:36:57 PM

The question is very simple: Do you do any checks before you award users with merits or not?

Lets suppose a persons post are average or below average but his one post is excellent. So you will not give him merit for that because his previous posts are not worthy of merits. This is a wrong approach. If you see a good post, it is best to merit it and do not care about his other posts history. 883  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Face Mask Placebo on: July 23, 2020, 04:03:41 PM

I have seen many people wear face mask because it is mandatory to wear it as per the laws of the country. They wear it below their chins just to show that they are wearing a mask.

That is probably healthier than reinfecting themselves by rebreathing their virus laden exhaled air.

So if you wear face mask on your nose / mouth, you take your virus back inside and if you wear below nose / mouth , you have chance to inhale the virus of other. Such a confusion it is.
The new set of instructions could be those who have fever, cough should be made to wear the mask and the rest should not wear the mask.

The last and final test between England and WestIndies will be played tomorrow. This match will decide who is the winner of this test series. The win is important for both the teams especially WestIndies. It will be a big achievement for them to win a test series in England, provided they are able to do so. In about 5 days times, we will see who will take away the Wisden Trophy.
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 19, 2020, 11:43:22 AM
WI are 81/2 and trail by 388. England is running out of time if they want to win it they will have to pick up couple of quick wickets here so that they can put pressure on lower middle order and wrap up the WI innings quickly. But if WI can play our todays entire day then the chances of draw is likely in the match.

The score is 107/2/ and the match is already heading towards a draw. West Indies unexpectedly showed good batting performance now like in the first test match.
Everyone thought that they might collapse in their batting, but so far they are showing good display of nerves and skills.
886  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Face Mask Placebo on: July 19, 2020, 11:12:19 AM
People do not use face masks correctly. You don't need reports and stats to confirm this. Just park in a supermarket car park and watch the shoppers.

I have seen many people wear face mask because it is mandatory to wear it as per the laws of the country. They wear it below their chins just to show that they are wearing a mask.

887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Determine which coin to invest in? on: July 19, 2020, 10:51:50 AM
Hi guys, I am seeking general crypto advice. What factors do you consider when you seek for a lesser-known currency to invest in? I am not talking about the top 10 or 20 coins, but lesser known coins.

There is big risk if you trade with less known coins. Some of the coins may pump and dump all of sudden because they have low volume which can easily manipulated by the developers too. The only advantage in these coins is that if you are lucky you can get even 50x profit in a day but losing percentage is also very high.
888  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: July 19, 2020, 10:17:30 AM
In my opinion anyone can be a winner during COVID-19, the most important thing to be a winner must be able to survive in this pandemic situation.
Don't let COVID-19 weaken us. The first always keeps away from COVID-19 by complying with health protocols, the next only buys only things that
are needed, and always think creatively in order to make money from home. If you can successfully run the steps, I am sure that we will be the
winners during COVID-19.

There are many winners in this covid 19.

1- the one who survives the covid19
2- the one who does not lose his job or business
3- the one who is not depressed during this long lock down
4- the one who have utilized this time in some constructive work or in his own development
5- the one who remain vigiliant and took steps to improve his immunity system

All of the above are the clear winners in this covid-19 period.

So what would you like? Screenshots of exchanges, etc .. It's not safe for me...

I know, man, but you can send your bitcoins to a btc address that you own, then sign a message with that address. That's enough proof you have the funds to pay. You can use electrum, which makes it really easy Smiley

Signing a message with a btc address doesn't compromise your private keys or any access to your bitcoins.
We use 30+ cryptocurrences in our casino. https://crypsino.io/page/cryptocurrences

But, can you show proof of funds? I don't want to play and find out you don't have the funds to pay if I win big.

I don't think that casino will ever show you their funds. Do you know any casino which shows this information ?

You have to trust them and hope that you will get the amount if you win a big amount. Also funds keep coming in and out of casino as people lose and win.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you trade if you won't leave your coins on exchange on: July 19, 2020, 08:38:22 AM
I am using exchanges for hit&run. Deposit my money, buy what i would like to buy and just withdraw to my wallet.

Also there are some defi solutions right now right uniswap that you don't even deposit anything. So love using them.

Sending coins back and to the exchanges is also costly and you have to pay the high transactions fee. Decentralized exchange is also one solution but i prefer to keep my coins on the exchanges if i need to trade them often.
I only move my coins to wallet which i have bought for a long term and another important thing is that i trade on reputed exchanges only.
892  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you prefer to buy bitcoin or do bitcoin mining? on: July 19, 2020, 06:15:36 AM
I prefer to buy bitcoin than mining, if the cost of mining bitcoin is not that expensive, I believe that almost every one will prefer mining it, and I feel it's good in that way, if not lots of people would prefer to keep dumping the price. But when you realize the expenses and time it takes you to mine there is no option you've got to consider buying especially those in a country where electricity tariff is very high

Not everyone can do bitcoin mining as you need a lot of expensive equipment for mining and there should be cheap electricity in your country. Bitcoin mining is no more an ordinary person job and it is done by mining farms and big companies. Buying bitcoin is a more realistic approach.
893  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Online gambling sites are rigged on: July 19, 2020, 04:57:04 AM

Provide proof so that we'd know which casino you are talking about. You can't just expect us to stop playing to all casinos we encounter all because you warned us you experienced the horrific losing streak of your life.

This thread is in scam accusation, you need to provide proof to whichever this gambling site is because its not normal to just accuse all of them.

He won't probably reply again here because it seems that he lost and got furstrated and make a post about scams in online gambling. This is a routine now that we see newbies coming here and posting something wrong about the casino (sometimes providing the casino name too) and disappear. They don't have valid proofs to defend themselves.

This is very risky to make any deposits.
I like the interface from the site, but personally I do not bet on Esports.

There are some concerns here that for the withdrawal you need to do the KYC and only then the withdrawal will be processed. Although this is not mentioned anywhere on the site. Rather the site claims that it is a NO KYC gambling site. I will like to hear official opinion on it before betting here.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

"Both. I think privacy is one of the most undervalued commodities. People trade their privacy for pennies or funny pictures. And once it's gone, you'll never get it back!"

Although any personal question is not asked in this interview but most people here on the forum would not like to give the interview because they do not want to disclose their identity.
This is a bitcoin forum where privacy is more important than the fame like other social media platforms.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 18, 2020, 12:31:33 PM
We have bad news from Manchester as its raining and few peoples saying we can lost today's all play due to this rain which is going to hurt very badly to home team https://twitter.com/GeorgeDobell1/status/1284398719203520512?s=20

This is actually good news for West Indies  Grin If today's play is washed out, then we have only 2 days of play so if the Windies bat sensibly they can end up in a draw  Wink But who knows maybe ENG will wind them up and win by an innings.

I think two days are also enough for the England team to bowl West Indies out but this rain is really helping west Indies. If they had the control, they would have want it to rain for all three days so that they can't lose the Match. Another thing is that if the match is drawn, the West Indies cannot lose the series.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 17, 2020, 08:04:04 PM
@STT. That is only clickbait to sell her book hehe.

In any case, the major hacks on the blue check accounts on Twitter and Trump's new executive order on Hong Kong's normalization might not be a coincidence.

This gives Trump emergency powers to block anyone in America to invest in Chinese companies or deal with them.

Source https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/presidents-executive-order-hong-kong-normalization/

I reckon that the setting for war is ready. I speculate that the beginning might occur before November.
It is hard for trump to decide for war it needs the decision of majority coming from different states.

In relation to prohibition against the chinese or hongkong company to deal with or invest with might sound political also. This because hongkong is not a part of china so it can decide on their own. China is a communist country and are dealing with investments coming from different countries around the world. It is just a matter of how regulations to contribute the smoth flow of investment. Somehow they need other country for them to benefit in the development of the economy. So this is why Trump has decided for normalization from these country.

War is certainly not a solution. It will only create more tension and make the life difficult not only for the Americans themselves but also for the USA president. The best thing here the president cannot make a decision single handedly and all the states will never agree to start a war and hence i don't see a traditional war. However trade war is on going and will continue.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 17, 2020, 07:36:28 PM
Yeah, 450 runs sounds good but with the sudden loss of wickets they probably won't reach it or they'll go for some heavy hitting and end up over 450. Irrespective of the score, ENG should declare and let Windies bat for 10-15 overs and try to pick some wickets.
England finally declared for 469/9 and the final wicket was frustrating the West Indies bowlers as they put on 42 runs before the England captain declaring the innings and i think Stuart Broad should be sent earlier rather than sending him as the last batsman because he does have a Test century against Pakistan, lets see how West Indies is going to respond as England is not having their best bowling line up.
Early wicket falls for West Indies now. Sam Curran takes wicket in first over itself. Why am I having a gut feeling that West Indian batting is going to skittle today one by one. Brathwaite batted really well in previous match all eyes are on him now how he bats from here. If West Indies bat for till first session day 4 or even can bat upto end of day 3, they can take this match towards a draw. That's the best thing I think West Indies can try winning the match from here is almost impossible. Even the win meter says West Indies has 2% chance of winning.

I see Zero percent chance of WI wining this one. There is no way West Indies can chase 469 but the question is whether they can avoid the follow on or not. They they 269 runs to avoid the follow on and i think the pressure on the batsmen will make this task impossible.
899  Other / Meta / Re: When their topic is moved to Off-topic on: July 17, 2020, 03:29:07 PM
It's always funny to see that once their topic is moved from Meta to the off-topic board (most of the time the topics moderated are moved there), nobody is interested anymore to participate in the discussion they take part in. All participants leave suddenly including @OP.

Great mentality...

The only reason for this is that most of the signature campaigns do not pay for posts in off-topic and therefore when a topic is moved to ""off-topic" section,  people stop responding on it. This also indicates a fact that people are active in discussions only because they are being paid for that. Once the topic is moved in a non-paid section, the discussion stops.
900  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the twitter scam crash the price on: July 16, 2020, 07:57:22 PM
Supposedly bill Gates and Elon musks account has been hacked. Along with many other people's accounts (such as binance and coinbase but coinbase may have regained control).

Hopefully the amounts sent remain low and this is just like a normal thing (like the twitter lives) but if a lot of people have sent all they have or this ends up in mainstream media (everywhere) then we could be in for a big crash...

I'm hodling still though. I wouldn't suggest selling but I'm just curious on people's opinions to this.

The impact of twitter accounts hack will not be as severe as if the actual exchange was hacked. We may see a bearish market for next few days but overall this news will spread like a fire in media and many people will come to know about the crypto. This will be a trending topic in twitter and in all the social media for sometime.
