881  Local / India / Re: how many Indian woman using bitcoin? on: December 01, 2016, 06:40:03 PM
OP, please don't think that women are not into bitcoins and don't take them as underdeveloped or non-techy because I don't know about many, but I have a group of girls, I mean they are my friends who use bitcoins for their daily use and even trade this. They once did a joke by saying that there will come a time they will start ordering their groceries too using bitcoins, but I said that their wish will soon come true.
882  Local / India / Re: How 500-1000 Currency Notes AFfecting you Guys? on: December 01, 2016, 06:27:04 PM
Black money holders are having a bad time that they cant use it any more .well to be honest it is best for the common man .but trust me it can turn out to be the worst that the price of all the things would go up drastically .so hope it does not happen and we live happily .

No bad times for them, Raja, no bad times seriously.
They already managed everything way before this happened. You understand why Mr. Ambani launched Jio suddenly and gave so much free data? Is that guy out of his mind? Do you know many BJP branches deposited few crores in bank accounts just before this announcement? And even after this announcement, do you still think that these black money holders aren't exchanging their black money for white through different ways?
883  Local / India / Re: Please stop buying bitcoins from India on: December 01, 2016, 06:23:42 PM
Enough guys... the more we feed these greedy sellers the more they will increase their prices...

If everyone stops buying btc from India they will be forced to revert to old prices.

Waiting for price to be as good as preev market place price then it's fine this is India not North Korea or Pakistan... even then I suspect those countries will be easier n cheaper to buy btc.
Whats wrong if price is high in india? Almost everything has different prices in different countries.Price of petrol for example, it is cheaper in some of our neighboring countries but we are paying more so whats wrong if due to high demand price of bitcoin is also high in india?

There is nothing wrong in having higher prices in India, but due to these sudden price hikes that took place just because of demonetization, have you noticed that many other International exchanges have now restricted Indians to be able to buy Bitcoins at their websites? You cannot buy bitcoins even from Coinbase anymore? Don't you think that's unfair?
884  Local / India / Re: 500 and 1000 Re Notes Demonetized on: December 01, 2016, 06:19:13 PM
I think government has done a very good job,at least of some of black money holders will get good shock.ya thanks to media unnecessary rumor saying"black money will now be stored in form of digital currency, bitcoin" ,in india bitcoin popularity will rise.

It is not good for bitcoins actually, because it is giving a negative appearance to bitcoins in India due to the negative publicity that our media is doing here. They are saying that "Bitcoins are just used for the wrong purposes, from black money to terrorism". And if this is the way bitcoins will come in front of Indians, do you really think people will actually take any interest into this?
885  Local / India / Re: New to Bitcoin Currency on: December 01, 2016, 06:14:27 PM
Thanks.
Which is mostly popular site or app for wallet in India?
Which one you use? And popular among Indian forum members?
How do I get exchange to rupees in zebpay app? Do I need to link bank to App?? IFSC?
Isn't that illegal if you get any free Bitcoin by playing games or earning from etc etc sites?? Because how you pay tax when you exchange Bitcoins?

Most popular site or app for wallet in India is Zebpay, I use them and would recommend you to do the same.
It is popular amongst Indians and you will get them exchanged by simply selling your coins in Zebpay app.
You need to link your bank to app and regarding IFSC, I have already explained it in my previous post before.
Quote
IFSC code is a code that is specific to your bank and bank's branch and city, and is needed to link your bank there.
Nothing is illegal if you can show that you got your bitcoins from those etc sites.
Regardless of earning INR through bitcoins or anything, you are not bound to pay taxes unless you earn more than 2.5 lacs.
If your income is above that, you need to file your returns and show this as "income from other sources", then pay your taxes and you are fine.
886  Local / Press & News from India / Re: [2016-11-01] Mint: Bitcoin isn’t anonymous enough to be a currency on: December 01, 2016, 02:38:12 PM
Their point is correct that Bitcoins are not totally anonymous and those two cryptocurrencies provide us with what we have been asking for bitcoins, but these two cryptos are limited to Dark Web transactions only? I mean what is the advantage of having something completely anonymous that you can't even trace people earning with wrong things? Should we support dark web and terrorism? No, right?
887  Local / India / Re: New to Bitcoin Currency on: December 01, 2016, 02:20:51 PM
I have downloaded zebpay app and coinsecure app. I don't know much in banking field.
I did little research on Google and wiki, found many things. From this forum trying to understand more about Bitcoins.
I am student, and working freelancer Offline, but now starting Online. Many projects pay through Bitcoins. That is why I need to use this currency.
1. In zebpay, you need to verify using PAN card. Is it safe?? Because we are providing personal and secure information to App.
2. What about coinsecure and it's verification process?
IFSC code? KYC? Whats this?
I only have normal bank account with ATM debit card with no online banking mobile banking service.
Please need help with all this banking stuff.
There should be thread like "ask anything about Bitcoins" that will be helpful.

Answers to your questions:
1. It's completely safe to provide Zebpay with your PAN card because they are secure and trustworthy exchangers in terms of Bitcoins in India.
2. Coinsecure asks you for documents like Passport, Driving License, PAN card, etc. of which you can provide them any.
KYC means Know your customer, it's a check that these exchanges do before allowing you to trade there. IFSC code is a code that is specific to your bank and bank's branch and city, and is needed to link your bank there.

You can ask anything here too, and we will help.
888  Local / India / Re: ABP news Indian news channel talking about zebpay and Unicoin --- Bitcoins on: December 01, 2016, 05:58:12 AM
From the video : "Bitcoins are illegal in India" ; "Bitcoins are controlled through website."

I think they should stop spreading wrong and false information. They should have done some more research before spread wrong info !

Media in India has become just worst, and are all "bought" by different government parties and they just bark what their masters ask them to do.
Bitcoin is such a subject which has scared all the governments of many countries, and in a country like India where already many digital wallets are in use, I don't think these governments will let their pie cut off that they are getting through such digital wallets by allowing bitcoins to be used legally, because they won't be able to get a hold on the transactions which will be done based on anonymity.
889  Local / India / Re: Anyone having experience in buying BTC from international bitcoin exchanges? on: December 01, 2016, 05:53:34 AM
I am looking for arbitrage opportunities. Does anyone know if FEMA allows bitcoin purchase internationally? and/or any bank in India does forex remittance for bitcoin purchase?

I was in USA for few years and do have a personal USA bank account, a Circle.com ($300/week limit) account, a verified bitstamp.net account. Also, my friend in USA is willing to create GDAX account for high value bitcoin purchase. The only thing I need to figure out now is outward remittance from India to either my own USA bank account, or friend's USA bank account or Bitstamp account.

I have gone through Liberalised Remittance Scheme and also FEMA and seems payments for purchase of assets up to $250,000 per year are allowed for some categories. Not sure if bitcoin could fall in any of those categories. I have also went to my bank and their only response is we are verifying with our back-end team.

Is there anyone who has successfully bought bitcoins internationally or know how to properly do outward remittance from India?

Will be willing to give out some BTCs for concrete help with outward remittances.

Am posting a PM sent to me with permission from the author. This may explain some complexities. Have received many more cases like this over the past weeks.

Hey,

Due to the ridiculous price of BTC in India I was looking to buy some on OKCoin as I already have a level 2 account there. The only issue is that they take deposits in Perfect Money which requires a SWIFT transfer. I wanted to know if you have had any luck doing a SWIFT transfer to anywhere to buy BTC before? The guys at my bank are clueless.
The guys at the bank are treating me like I'm laundering money lol.
Cheers,

XXX

This is very tough to do. I assume small amounts with trusted sources may be possible through alternatives like paypal, but very tough through conventional banks.

I am also interested to know about the SWIFT Transfer to international processors like Perfectmoney / OkPay / and Popular Bitcoin exchanges like Kraken / BTC-E , Never done before as Local Bank personals are horrific and i am scared that if i go to bank for a request to do this , they might think me as suspicious money Launderer , its really hard to make them understand about the situation . I once experienced when i withdraw from Solidtrustpay , Bank called me for the incoming wire transfer declaration and i did have to go through a hell lot questionnaires and documentation . Thank god that i had private bank and not a Govt. bank otherwise it could be more pain in the As* for me anyways i completed declaration successfully and then took an oath that i will never deal with Wire transfers again lol .. but i am also curious how all this happens .. specially for the outward remittance rules for an Indian .

Don't go for these opportunities as these will get you nothing based on the fee that you will pay ahead to banks and for foreign exchange.
I even tried some exchanges who used to allow Indians to buy Bitcoins there, but was shocked to see that even those exchanges have added India to the list of restricted countries, now that the price here is so high. The best exchange that I used to buy bitcoins at was Coinbase, and I cannot buy bitcoins there too.
890  Local / India / Re: Bank Transfer in India ( Questions ) on: December 01, 2016, 05:50:42 AM
I Just came to know that India has banned ₹ 500 & ₹ 1000 denominations. I am very happy that BJP government is taking such good steps.

My question is that if i cash out around 10 BTC ~ ₹6-₹7 Lakhs every month in my account by trading BTC then will i have to pay income tax? will Income tax people jail me? Am i doing illegal thing? I have been living in Thailand and there is no such problem.

I am very much confused , i trade BTC for ₹ on Localbitcoins and i accept Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), so there is chance that some people may be using black money to buy BTC and in that case if i sell them then i will come under suspicion? Any one here who knows , what are Do's and Dont's?

Is my way of cashing out is money laundering?

This is very serious problem.

Do's:
You need to have your statements ready and show them that you sold your bitcoins and got your cash, but those bitcoins should not have come through any illegal means or ways. If it's black money, then it's better you should redeem very small amounts in your banks so to stay safe.
Always remain safe by checking buyers' ID proof before going ahead.

Don'ts:
If you are still in Thailand, then I don't think you should have any problems because if you are there, I think that you will need to comply with their rules and not India. That's what I wanted to ask, that why don't you withdraw your cash in Thailand bank account itself if you are there?
Don't sell anyone who are willing to give you old notes of 500 and 1000 under any circumstances.
891  Local / India / Re: [ANN] Mobile top up with Ethereum, Ripple, LTC , Monero, Dash +38 CryptoCurrency on: December 01, 2016, 05:45:32 AM
You have written this "CASHOUT BITCOIN,ALTCOINS, PSC, BTC-E, CASHU ...WITH NO ID REQUIRED" in your signature, so I thought we even don't need an account there. Can't it be simple and direct so that we don't even need to create an account and top up our mobiles directly?
I always used piiko for this purpose, but they don't allow custom amounts, also want to know about this that do you guys allow such service?

Are Casinos legal in india ? and is it a big thing ? Just wondering  Roll Eyes
It is legal in india but only in some states.but there are plenty of ilegal casino /gambling done in various part of country.
The biggest is gambling on cricket matches which are done on high level.

Correct, people used to play a lot of "SATTA" on cricket matches, especially when IPL takes place.
And californiaquail, who says that gambling is illegal in India? It gets done especially in Goa where you are free to do it, and there are many other states where you can gamble, it's just that those activities are done underground and none comes and attacks you for the same.

894  Local / Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India) / Re: INDIAN BEGGER SCAMMER TIFFIN WALA USING BITCOIN on: December 01, 2016, 05:27:52 AM
Who is he and who does he scammed? you should not post anyone's personal information here in public forum without any solid proof of accusations particularly when the person in question doesn't even a member of this forum

That guy is seriously a scammer as one of my friends had a trade with him before and he scammed him for 2 Bitcoins.
He even lodged an FIR against him but he is still roaming around free as Police are not taking any interest in these things because they don't understand what is this FIR for, seriously stupid.
895  Local / India / Re: ABP news Indian news channel talking about zebpay and Unicoin --- Bitcoins on: November 30, 2016, 05:48:30 PM
That's absolutely true because many black money holders distributed their money in the accounts of Jan Dhan Yojna people and they even bought bitcoins as there were sellers who were selling coins for old notes, but with cash deposit at their respective banks.
896  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many times have you've been scammed? on: November 30, 2016, 05:44:06 PM
I have been scammed by many users many times because I had been so gentle to all of them and whenever they asked for some loans as a help, I gave them and they never returned them back. I could have easily given away more than 2 bitcoins in just loans, and even few were my friends.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Satoshimines.com dead? on: November 29, 2016, 06:48:31 PM
The website is working great, but asked me to set my clock time to internet time as it was not opening due to it.
Try to do that and see if it works, and also add an exception to the security because it's not opening in https currently.
898  Economy / Economics / Re: Will governments create their own cryptocurrency that will replace fiat? on: November 29, 2016, 06:46:01 PM
It is already happening, China wants to be first country in the world to release their own cryptocurrency (or at least are trying to test the waters).
Chinese government is hiring Blockchain developers and experts to develop technology for economic and financial systems aka altcoin creation:

Reference: https://cointelegraph.com/news/chinas-central-bank-hires-blockchain-experts-to-launch-cryptocurrency

That being done will add centralization to the levels of cryptocurrency business, and I don't think that they will succeed much because such types of digital wallets already exist in the real world, but the only difference this will make will be the value. The altcoin can be like bitcoins, but they will surely add their eyes to it to be able to check everything just like they do in fiat.

yes i spoke on live chat useless

Don't try live chat, they are helpless. I mean live chat people are employees who work for them and not the admins themselves.
If you want your queries resolved, then contact them through their support and not live chat obviously.
I hope this withdrawal problem will get resolved soon. I was lucky I withdrew them few days back and received them.

1st pick

Orlando Magic - Milwaukee Bucks
Points Handicap:
Orlando Magic -1.5 @ 1.96
congratulations @Carlespuyol for the 4 win in the raw, This did not surprise me Because I know that you can go up to 10 in the raw without any difficulty.
But also your lose in the 5th round remains a mystery.

This is not his 4th win in a row, but 1st pick because he lost his 4th pick and this is new challenge that started.
Please see to what he wrote in his comment. Carles, we lost this pick also as teams are playing terrible these days and those who were never expected to even equal their opponents' points, are now winning over them.
