darkgold https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=868354.0

Heritage:

Problems:

* EXTREME: 200K coins are premined, not for ICO, and disclosed in a very difficult to read way (they just say how many blocks are premined)
** Even if disclosed, this is an extremely large premine of around 14% (including the 152 blocks, and excluding the ICO portion)
* MAJOR: 152 normal reward (non-ICO) blocks were premined and undisclosed, yielding 1,520 coins

* MODERATE: ICO funds/premine was mined in such a way that PoS staking inflated the actual amount mined
** The ICO funds 800K actually ended up being around 800,600 coins.
** Can't tell how much BTC 600 coins actually adds up to, since I can't determine the price per coin from the announcement thread
* MINOR: ICO/premine funds have not been checkpointed
* MODERATE: The sync checkpoint key appears to be valid, but no sync checkpoint node appears to be running on the network
** It is considered somewhat insecure to run a PoS coin without sync checkpoints
* MINOR: "Total Coins: 50M" in ANN is wrong. Total coins is infinite, total PoW coins is 1,369,590.0

Notes:

genesis seed is news event

A lot of people concerned about PoS weight and amount of coins minted by PoS on the ICO funds.
Looking at the ratio of PoS blocks and average payout, it's at most 800 coins.. probably more like 600 coins

Also some concern about moneysupply not including premine. I see no evidence of this unless github was updated before I could review it

Watermarks: uint64_t, pos, drm-like, devcoin

DEV: If you'd like to get rid of these extra coins to invalidate these extreme problems, please send them to an appropriate burn address: https://gist.github.com/Earlz/de3cc5f6ee85c7a69d53 ... Afterwards, if you'd like me to validate that you properly burned the coins and update the review, please PM me with txid and relevant info

Wouldn't that be a major if only 1.369 Million coins available for POW and 800k have already been mined?

Is the wallet turned off for mining currently.
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NoirShares UPDATE REQUIRED Advanced Features✔, Unique PoW✔ on: December 07, 2014, 04:47:16 PM
I updated to new wallet but when I add a config file to the appdata\roaming\noirshare folder I get an error message that "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I delete the config file from the folder a re run wallet and it works but no connections.

@wr104

Curious question if you can answer this. Is cgminer reading out the ip address of our machine and that is why we can only get one gpu to mine?
Even if I try and mine from computer 2 into computer 3 with the wallet I still can't get it to work (still hardware errors) but computer 1 works fine where it has the gpu and wallet on it.

My thoughts are that cgminer 3.72 was the last official release of it that supported GPU's, that was back during the 13.x AMD driver release, and there has been pretty serious performance gains with the latest drivers and only sgminer seems to have kept up with that.  I would think that it would be quicker to transform sph-sgminer to a 320bit check rather than reinvent the wheel with cgminer.  But you can probably get more than one card up if you run the 3.72 binaries but not sure if dev made a change to them for his kernel.

Thanks

Completely forgot about about the "non gpu" use of 3.7.2

Three in a row!

ROFL...

Your not the only one this is happening with.

I have a ton of them now.

I am taking it that there is a problem with cgminer. I am showing a difficulty of 2 in cgminer as the wallet shows difficulty of 103.04308571

Weird problem with HW errors but strange fix.

I added a 3rd card to my rig before the last updated wallet and everything ran fine. I was just mining on my 280x and it was recognized as gpu 0 for this cgminer.

After the install it changed my gpu from 0 to card 1. I changed the bat to reflect this. Whenever I would run the bat my 280X with HW no matter what settings I changed. So I took the 3rd card out and the system recognized the 280x as gpu 0 again. Running now and no HW errors.

I'm ok with it since we can only mine with one card as is for the time being.

Just wanted to share my experience I was having.

Got it going last night and went to bed and woke up with nothing but HW errors that wasn't happening before.

Did the new wallet change the the way that cgminer runs?

Can I just delete the block chain and redownload it?

I have tried the command prompt numerous times with no success.

you might want to add a -printtoconsole to see what it's doing, it takes around 5 minutes. After it updates the whole blockchain you can stop it and restart the gui wallet.

There was one wallet that had corrupted blockchain after reindex but it was empty so i just wiped the directory and re-downloaded it. Not sure how to work that out if you have some coins in the wallet  Shocked

I just don't know what I am doing to be honest. I created a short cut to the desktop just to try something else.

i have my command prompt set to open at     C:\users\intel\desktop>   then when I type the kryptohash-qt.exe --reindex I get 'kryptohash-qt.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I would get that message also when I tried running it to my program files x86 folder or it would say that the file was not found.

Go to command prompt

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Kryptohash Core 64-bit

enter

kryptohash-qt.exe --reindex

enter

Awesome. Thanks it's resyncing.

Give me your address and I'll send you some coins.

New Wallet version 0.3.5 MANDATORY UPGRADE

https://github.com/kryptohash/kryptohash/releases/tag/v0.3.5

VERY IMPORTANT

1) Backup your wallet.dat file.
2) Execute kryptohashd or kryptohash-qt with the --reindex  parameter for ONE TIME to allow the wallet to fork correctly at block 5098.

Do we just type the --reindex in the wallet debug window?

No, you need to open a command prompt, find the executable and run it with the parameter

kryptohash-qt.exe --reindex

Like this   C:\programfiles(x86)\kryptohashcore64-bit\kryptohash-qt.exe --reindex

Thanks for the help

EDIT: I forgot the command to change the command prompt

I see.. then.. what ? This is the end for this coin ?  Cry

Not the end of the coin just the evolution of it.

I like that the dev is staying on top off things. I hope this coin has success for his efforts.

On a side note,  since the coin is going to be hard forked or rolled back does it make any sense to mine it right now until the wallet is released?

I am not sure how that works.

Guys, at the current Diff, it is going to take days to reach Block 5200 where it is expected to retarget to a lower value.

I'm going to have to create a new wallet version with a hard fork at block 5098 and get a lower retarget value for a brand new block 5100.

You are doing a fantastic job at making adjustments. Thanks.

Just curious if cgminer is causing issues also with read outs. Wallet shows difficulty of 902.1813 while cgminer still shows over 1.86k.

Can anyone verify the correct block number we are on? I am showing 5104 and that I found 5103.

Something is definitely wrong with the cgminer. When it showed me finding block 5103 my accepted shares was 902 and rejected was 0.

now wallet block on 5103.no start new block .no look 5104 block ,dev why ?

If you have block 5103 and the hash is 0000000046017B173A6680B24C496C0D8CF21075E933D40048B1AE57443B6DF93F616A7D4298ED9 5, you are on the right tip of the blockchain

How do I find this out.

Now I am going to sleep.

Off to bed.

Wallet and miner up and running but version 0.3.4 is still stuck on 5103.

Will see how it is in the morning.

Just getting home. Read about the fork. My wallet shows stuck at block 5103.

So I take it the wallet is turned off. I am on version 0.3.3 and cgminer will not hash.
