"long on notebtc, very good looking chart"  -  https://www.tradingview.com/chart/NOTEBTC/BmpFkxQ2-long-on-notebtc-very-looking-good-chart/

Thank you for the post, Chase. DNotes is built for long-term investors who believe that the viability of a digital currency over an extended period of time will not escape the need to demonstrate fundamental values. The lack of intrinsic value at this highly speculative stage where meaningful due diligence can not be objectively performed will eventually come to pass. Professional investors, investing for their own accounts, or managed funds will give preference to DNotes and others where due diligence on value propositions can be accomplished with relative easy.

Investing in Bitcoin and other digital currencies is certainly not for the faint of heart and no one will deny that it is speculative. Speculators will practically pay any price if they believe that they can turn around and sell them at higher prices. “ … a Speculative Asset with “No Intrinsic Value” may sound debatable but tough to defend.

Some may be creating more fundamental value than others but most may not bother. Over the longer-term it pays to be able to differentiate. At DNotes we have been devoting a lot of resources to ensure that DNotes will have significant “Intrinsic Value” one day.

Bitcoin a Speculative Asset with “No Intrinsic Value”, Says Business Insider Founder
Samburaj Das on 30/05/2017

As bitcoin captures the world’s attention while soaring to unprecedented heights, the cryptocurrency has been labelled as an asset primed for a bubble, with no intrinsic value.

Henry Blodget is the founder, CEO and editor of prominent financial news publication Business Insider stated:

Look, this is a perfect asset for a speculative bubble…There is a finite supply. There is no intrinsic value. If anybody is persuading you that it should somehow be related to some GDP or gold…put down the Kool-Aid and back away.”

Technology Experts Question Blockchain Promises
Justin OConnell on 03/06/2017

"One of the many promises of blockchain is its ability to fight against fraud and secure our globally connected systems. But not everyone is buying it. Two prominent security minds recently put their skepticism about the power of blockchain to digital print."

Source: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/technology-experts-question-power-of-blockchain/

A dose of skepticism is healthy. Over promising is running wild in our industry but there are solid projects that are ideal with blockchain technology – particularly where time-stamped immutable transactions that can be verified by anyone worldwide are important. Of course, there are many more applications which we believe are of great value and significance.

A couple of interesting bitcoin articles to check out (the first one may ruffle a few feathers):

Why Bitcoin Needs Washington to Go Mainstream  -  http://fortune.com/2017/06/01/bitcoin-price-drop-crash-cryptocurrency-mainstream/

‘We can’t rely on Japanese pensions’: Asia turns to bitcoin to get away from rock-bottom saving rates  -  http://business.financialpost.com/investing/market-moves/we-cant-rely-on-japanese-pensions-asia-turns-to-bitcoin-to-get-away-from-rock-bottom-saving-rates

Why Bitcoin Needs Washington to Go Mainstream  -  http://fortune.com/2017/06/01/bitcoin-price-drop-crash-cryptocurrency-mainstream/

This article is actually quite "gentle" about consumer protection and regulations. Technology is always ahead of regulations. If Washington doesn't move faster, United States could be loosing its competitive edge to other countries like Switzerland and Singapore - that are much more "digital currency friendly."

Most exchanges do not view DNotes as a high volume trading crypto because of our conservative philosophy. We believe in taking our time to build a solid infrastructure with stability. However, I have personally approached them and others without success, though we never mounted an aggressive campaign. It is not a high priority to us at this time.

how do you get 4% proof of stake? CRISP has 2% at DNotes vault and online wallets get 2%. what do you do to get 4%?

also, can offline wallet stake to my CRISP? lots to learn here.

Welcome to DNotes, gres91. We are doing our best to reward all our stakeholders – large or small if they keep their DNotes in a wallet or in DNoteVault for thirty days or more. This earns an annual return of 2% paid every 30 days. The second 2% (on average) is paid to those who participate in staking to support the DNotes’ network, individually, using staking pool, or through DNotesVault. Again, we are working hard to make it as simple as possible, including the support of off-line wallets.

Hi! I am old Dnotes holder,if I sell my notes now I can getting good profit approx 1 BTC. What is your opinion, its a good idea to sell now or waiting for Dnotes2.0 release? I will not be a loser in price after Dnotes2.0 release?

What I can say is that DNotes is at the very early stage of executing its roadmap. Relative to its industry peers DNotes is significantly under-valued. However, it should be a personal decision to buy, sell, or hold. No one can predict with certainty what the price of DNotes will be at any point in the future.

For most people, the process of change is always uncomfortable and challenging. It is hard to commit or bet our hard-earned dollars in investment we don’t understand. Many have missed opportunities investing in Amazon, Google, and Facebook of the likes at the initial stages because of this tendency.

For over three years, since we founded DNotes, we have been positioning DNotes differently in recognition that education and trust building are crucial to have more people understand and participate in the new investment phenomena going on today. Bitcoin, blockchain, smart contract, FinTech, ITO, and the future of money are beginning to dominate the new world of fast and furious high-risk investment today.

Thousands of man-hours have been invested in DNotes – the digital currency and its ecosystem with strong emphasis in educating investors and influencers of our industry. This is one among many videos being created. Help us to promote our cause. Please share and like at your pleasure.

Hi alfaalfa, it is great to have you here and interested in DNotes!
Great questions - I will try to give you a quick answer until someone else can fill in the blanks.

This is the verifiable public information available:
DNotes Global, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Delaware on April 1, 2016, #6005128. It is a 01025 Stock Corporation ("C" Corporation). It is currently being built and great care is being taken to ensure it is done right, so there is a lot of legal work going on (the Law firm of Huck Bouma has been retained).

The 75% ownership will be held by the large investors who put up the big $$$$ to help fund this massive project. Depending on how it is structured, we may never know the identities of who has invested in it, if that information is not required to be made public (think of the 'silent partner' or ICO).

The 25% ownership held by DNotes currency will be subject to dilution. Future plans may require the company to go public with a stock offering in order to fund global growth. These investors will be expecting their money to increase the value of DNotes Global, not the currency (at least not directly). If the value of the company increases, the value of the currency also increases, and even though the % ownership may have decreased through dilution, the actual value of your stake shouldn't. It is a win/win situation and the first of its kind in cryptocurrency.

I hope this helps.  Smiley

This thing is about to become a VC-backed rocket ship. Fascinating. And awesome.

It will take a while for enough people to gain a good understanding that DNotes is much more than just another digital currency. We are building a tightly integrated financial and business enterprise system designed to take full advantage of the future of money as well as the under-pining blockchain technology. A lot of efforts are being made to produce a series of videos that will make it easier to gain a better understand of DNotes and the team behind it. Hopefully, the first one will be posted later this week.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Bridging the Gap Between the Centralized and Decentralized World on: May 30, 2017, 03:23:24 PM
Very interesting how about price? Price will not fall if Dnotes2.0 become a POS coin? I think POS coin is easy to staking and getting?

Welcome diamondblend23, and thank you for the questions.

POS is a different means of distributing the reward, all you need is your coins and computer to participate in the reward system and support the network. In POW miners have to spend money on advanced mining equipment and electricity to support the network and participate meaningfully in the reward structure, therefore often have a higher need to liquidate their holdings. On top of staking, we are also offering a blockchain based CRISP reward, which will earn a target of 2% annually, distributed monthly, for accounts that have coins for more than 30 days. This will further enhance the benefit of saving your DNotes for long term. However, the price is still based on the market forces of supply and demand, we recommend that everyone only invest what they can afford to lose.

Our vision is to build fundamental value for DNotes through the for profit company, DNotes Global Inc. and its infrastructure and services that we are building and working on. DNotes the currency owns up to 25% of DNotes Global Inc. (subject to dilution) which can be used in a number of ways to grow and support DNotes.

"I think POS coin is easy to staking and getting?"

Absolutely, our focus is to make it as easy as possible for everyone to participate staking as well as our CRISP program.

Hi. I want to invest in this coin, now that I know about it. But I have a few questions before. Who owns 75% of DNotes Global Inc? And where can I find this, I searched for it and all I can find is an address.  And which one is subject to dilution the currency or the other 75%?

Thank you, Chase. Very well answered. At this time DNotes Global, Inc. is an early stage privately held company positioning to embark on some major projects mentioned in the DNotes road-map "2018 and beyond."  Like most start-ups, it is launched with a small amount of initial capital, which I (Google DNotes Alan Yong) personally provided, along with a few key DNotes supporters. It is unique that 25% of the ownership is allocated to DNotes's stakeholders because we want all of our long-term stakeholders to benefit from the success of DNotes Global.

At some point in the future, DNotes may seek additional seed/expansion funding which will result in more shareholders. Subsequently, we plan to utilize Crowdfunding under the Jobs Act to raise up to $20 in additional funding. Ultimately, we intent to take DNotes Global public with a substantial IPO. That will give DNotes that best changes of being a power player in our industry.

DNotes is unique in many ways. Beyond DNotes the digital currency, we have an entrepreneurial group committed to help manage DNotes as a business without controlling it as one. We have provided an abundance of materials through many links (OP) for those who like to do due diligence on DNotes before investing. It is our belief that as more professional investors participate in our industry easy access to accurate materials for purposes of due diligence is crucial.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Bridging the Gap Between the Centralized and Decentralized World on: May 29, 2017, 03:01:29 PM

The prevalent, but misguided attitude in cryptocurrency is that it is 'different this time' and there is no need for any regulation or financial reporting, as the whole industry will just govern itself.

Over time industry best practices should form, with or without said regulation. People learn to sieve through the rubbish, and ventures that offer, for example, private contracts to enforce consequences regarding fiduciary responsibility for all investors (we have smart contract capability to become more mainstream too), along with financial reporting should make the best investment decisions much more obvious. All the money will flow into better performing and more trusted platforms - like say, DNotes NextGen VC platform, and every other venture will be forced to emulate the model to attract the serious investors, or come and see the benefits our service will provide.

The incentives to do it properly already exist, just most people don't 'see it' - these people certainly are not any central authority like the government.

I am grateful for the increase in financial investment opportunities made available to people with lower amounts of disposable income. I hope no government regulation takes that away out of any intention to "save us from ourselves," such as by assuming that because we have only small amounts to invest that we have to be ignorant about what makes investments work.

I agree, we don't need any more burdensome regulation that puts a stranglehold on the industry. My point was that most of the current projects are not following the existing legislation that covers crowdfunding and/or the 'cast-a-wide-net' laws in place to cover anything that acts like a security. What will happen when the SEC or some other financial enforcement agency tells them they are operating in violation of the Securities Act? And... any further regulation should protect the consumer by targeting the scammers!

Wiser, it is because of people with lower incomes that I am so passionate about making a trusted cryptocurrency available to everyone. I would love nothing better for them to be the first investors in DNotes so they would see the biggest financial reward. You have a level of experience that allows you to understand what these projects can and can't deliver. People who are new to cryptocurrency don't, and in my humble opinion, the ICO frenzy (as it stands right now), is a dangerous place to put their limited investing funds. It is difficult to do due dilligence when you don't even know what it means, and especially if you are new to this industry. Insert education here -  Wink

The answer for these people is DNotes NextGen VC platform, knowing that it "has consumer protection mechanisms in place that ensure correct value proposition is communicated for all investment projects."

Chase, very well said. At DNotes, doing what is right and one that will benefit the most people is far more important to us than being "successful" quickly. I always believe that doing the right thing, the right way, at the right time with an admirable purpose is one of the most important contributors to business success.
893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Bridging the Gap Between the Centralized and Decentralized World on: May 29, 2017, 02:51:39 PM
I agree that providing education on how the cryptocurrency industry works and how to read and interpret things company financials and sound economic principles in general would be an awesome contribution.

I'm not in any way endorsing entities who are fundamentally scammers, as in raising funds through ICOs and whatnot with no intent to ever deliver.

I am grateful for the increase in financial investment opportunities made available to people with lower amounts of disposable income. I hope no government regulation takes that away out of any intention to "save us from ourselves," such as by assuming that because we have only small amounts to invest that we have to be ignorant about what makes investments work. I know I personally have appreciated the increased opportunities and I have learned a lot through the experience. One of the things I've learned is that as a general rule, don't buy the ICOs, instead wait for the coin to hit the market because 99% of the time the price will drop and there will be good buying opportunities provided the fundamentals are good. Another thing I've learned more recently is don't buy it if it's "just a coin." Right now, being just a coin is not enough. Any new coin is going to have to be an entire ecosystem complete with value added infrastructure in order to make it. DNotes was very forward thinking in pioneering this concept at a time when it was still possible to launch "just a coin." But now you have Steem, NEM, Diamond, and Ethereum standing out precisely because they are more than just coins.

You are correct, Wiser. As our industry matures, new participants will be more sophisticated and better financed. DNotes is amazingly well positioned and will be among the most innovative leaders - both in technologies and in business. We also believe that we are seeing the beginning of an influx of professional investors where due diligence is a pre-requsite in evaluating the commercial potential of their investments. This is particularly the case with managed funds. We are mindful of some very high bars to be measured up against and will position DNotes to be in the best position in serving this potentially massive target.

I see this project as a great asses to Microsoft Technology, Have you guys ever presented your idea to them. I am sure as a pioneer in .Net and C# they will surely love to be a hand in it and will even give some contribution to it.

I am a C# dev, let me know if you guys wants me to be in.

Welcome Chevas, thank you that is certainly a consideration. We are always looking to expand our team, would you be able to send me an email at contact@dnotescoin.com with some of your background and strengths, as well as what areas you would be best able to help in?

Welcome to DNotes, Chevas. I had extensive working relationship with Microsoft in the past when I was the CEO of Dauphin Technology and have no doubt that they will be a great partner of DNotes one day. However, we like to take our development further before involving other strategic partners.

Developing 100% in C# and Microsoft .net platform will open a lot of doors for DNotes, especially in the corporate world. Additionally, we will be more streamlined and much more efficient in our future development. We are committed to be an innovative technology leader in our industry and welcome interested and qualified individuals to email us at: contact@dnotescoin.com
We appreciate your interest and look forward to hearing from you.

Yahoo Finance on DNotes:

The DNotes 2.0 platform will represent a significant upgrade from DNotes as it now exists. After extensive research and consideration, the DNotes team decided to switch from Proof-Of-Work (POW) to Proof-Of-Stake (POS). The new blockchain system will be accompanied by positive changes in the company's CRISP program, and will reward stakeholders monthly with an annual target of approximately 2% on balances held in qualified accounts for 30 days or more to encourage long-term investment and savings.

There will be an additional stake reward, with a target of 2% annually, paid to stakeholders who participate in "staking" to support the network. The new reward system will be the backbone of the new CRISP 2.0 savings plans.  ………..

One of the most critical choices the company has made is the decision to develop its platform on C#, rather than the C++ Bitcoin Core source code. Yong describes the decision as the direct result of his belief that mass acceptance of digital currency can only be attained by focusing on businesses and other consumers. As he notes:

"We are committed to a vision of 100% conversion to C# – giving us the advantage of knowing our own technologies and applications intimately well. This will put us in a position of great technological leadership, particularly when it comes to the blockchain and smart contract applications that are currently in great demand. C# is popular in the corporate environment, and is easier to develop and maintain when compared to the traditional C++ Bitcoin Core source code. It is expected that C# architecture will become a more popular platform in the future. Stratis is one such coin that has active development on C#, and we appreciate their leadership and contributions to our industry
."

Project Jasper: Blockchain Not Yet Ready to Replace Current Intrabank Settlement Systems

https://dcebrief.com/project-jasper-blockchain-cannot-yet-replace-current-intrabank-settlement-systems/

The results should not be a surprise. We are still in the early stage of the technology. It will continue to evolve and get better. However, I do agree with the Senior Deputy Governor of Bank of Canada that "The bottom line is that a stand-alone DLT wholesale system is unlikely to match the efficiency and net benefits of a centralized system. At its heart, there exists a fundamental inconsistency between a centralized wholesale interbank payment system and the decentralization inherent in DLT."

I do believe that it is essential, by design, to bridge the gap between the centralized and the decentralized world to benefit from the full potential the blockchain technologies, payment, and settlement systems. Without such efforts, there will be inherent deficiencies and other challenges. Decentralized distribute ledger Technology (DLT) with the ingenious consensus system will have world changing implications. But it is not a “cure all” snake oil. It pays to know the strengths and limitations of the technology and position DNotes accordingly in order to gain the full benefits.

Please let us know if you like to assist us with suggestions, comments, or any other manner that could contribute to the success of this video campaign project. Thank you.

DNotes is more than just another altcoin. We are building a complete ecosystem fully integrated with the most essential infrastructures in support of DNotes - the digital currency. They are integral parts of our strategic plans to build a trusted digital currency with stability and dependable store of value; subsequently becoming worthy of being a supplemental currency to global fiat currencies.

Are you new to DNotes or a returning veteran? Drop in and say hello, or ask a question if you have one.

What a brilliant community that has built up around DNOTES these past few years. Returning veteran here. I've been away for a minute (my wife works weekend nights, I work 24/7 on a tech startup, and we have 3 kids and don't live by family for help), but thankfully things look rosy on that end. I feel like my tech startup life has run a very parallel course to DNotes: sweet technology backed by a great vision and lots of hard graft which is now reaching escape velocity. So hopefully soon I'll be far more free after our exit to devote more time to this crypto community.

What a great compliment, I've been holding DNotes for 3 years now and I tend to agree with you. DNotes has been working very hard to develop essential infrastructure that will scale into a large corporation. Watching all the work that it took to bring the platform to it's current stage has been very impressive. This is a highly dedicated team and I've come to learn that DNotes also values their stakeholders almost as if they are family.

I echo every word of this post 100%.

I had just built a rig at the end of 2013 all those years ago and rather than just point it to an extant coin like LTC, I wanted to find one from Day One. DNotes' value prop hit me like a ton of bricks. It just seemed so SENSIBLE. There were so many coins releasing on a daily basis. Absurd premine scams, IPO frauds etc etc. There was a real, no bullshit dynamism to the NOTE platform. DNotes was (and is) truly going to be a shared stake coin. And so it has proven to be, and then some. So I've literally been a NOTE holder since Day 1, and will continue to soldier on as a died in the wool DNotes evangelist.

As Mark Zuckerberg said waaaay back in the day, "I'm here to build something for the long-term. Everything else is secondary."

This is a team with a dream thats becoming reality. They have a unbelievable abount of patience, more than i have...hats why even when they were quite working in the background not only did i not sell any, i bought more. Exciting times! Once again, i cant wait to see what the future of dnotes looks like!

In late 2013, I read Satoshi's whitepaper, a work of staggering genius, and was entirely convinced of the blockchain's power.

But I knew myself enough to understand that I am too emotional w/my investments. This is why I was a shitty hedge fund trader. If I just bought a bunch of BTC w/cash, I knew I'd care way too much about market movements. So I decided to build a supercomputer that could mine cryptocurrency. I viewed it then, and still now, as an educational expense. That's made all the difference.

Otherwise, I definitely wouldn't have the patience of Job to stick this long, like the DNotes team has. Kudos all around!!!

We have a strong conviction that by helping others to become successful it will ultimately result in great success for DNotes. Everything that we have done thus far, reflects our long-term commitment to build a trusted brand and one that is of great inspiration and value to those who believe in our missions with an invested interest.

Dr. Dorfman, like many other critics just look at the inherent weaknesses of emerging technologies and point out any imperfections. We, as innovators, are excited about the immense potential and commit our life savings and other precious resources to solve critical problems that constraint the progress of the technologies.

"I think almost every great investment has a contrarian check. A lot of people will think that’s a bad investment. But you have a good reason for thinking it’s a good investment and it will get to scale. Those are typically the unusually great investments."

“Very often when you are going for real innovation you have to go against prevailing wisdom, and it’s hard to go against prevailing wisdom when there are people who have been there for a long time and you have some vice president who says, ‘No, that doesn’t make sense.’ ”
Dr. Robert Langer, MIT Langer Labs

"If  DNotes were to succeed as the digital currency of the future with lasting value it has to take a very different path to reach that mountain top. It must build a solid foundation, block by block, systematically, while executing its strategic plans at the most opportune time which may often conflict with that of speculators."
Bitcointalk: March 8th, 2014 - Alan Yong, DNotes co-founder

Right now, there are 1.5 trillion of USD in circulation and 8.5 trillion of gold mined WW over history. The crypto world now is not even 1% of that. The room to grow is absolutely enormous. I believe there is only one market of the 21st that is similar in size and scale, and that is the world of pervasive Augmented Reality governed by Networks of AIs. The obviousness of that world seems as apparent to me as a pervasive blockchain.

This entire thread has a very similar feel to how DNOTES felt to me the day it released. Only now, the entire crypto world has developed some SERIOUS street cred, and NOTE itself has appreciated nearly 10,000% since inception (no that's not a typo).

Open source is great for this purpose, but there are also many people who instead of using the open-source nature to build and improve upon a network choose to only incorporate the work of others without ever actually building on top of it, or contributing anything new. There are many cryptocurrencies of this ilk, who you will find that while on the face of it may have kept up with 'industry standards', have only spend a few weeks incorporating the code of other open source developers into their own network.

I view blockchains in this fashion. As the top crypto-engineers make their upgrades more blockchain-specific to integrate within their own ecosystem, those crypto that rely upon copying and implementing modular updates will find their technical ability to copy insufficient, and/or the incompatibility issues from blockchain design engineering irreconcilable even if the technical coding ability is there.

-Warren Buffet

Thing is, once everybody does it, then nobody can see. It's those few who peer through the crowd that get the real glimpse into what happens next.

What a post! You about summed it all up, with a cute little bow on it. You seemed to have hit most of the points Alan has been pounding into our heads for years and years. Thought for the day:

TIMING IS EVERYTHING!!!! (Try crossing a railroad track at the wrong time).

Great post, and good to see you again, Mininghabit!! Time for me to get out in the garden and think about DNotes. I mean think about Daylilies!!! Thanks again for the support.

Fantastic post. Thank you, MinningHabit. We appreciate everything that you have done for DNotes at the early days of its launch. It’s good to get the prospective of a returning veteran. It is also inspiring to have an unsolicited confirmation that we are making great progress in what we have committed to do.

Looking forward to see you often.

Thanks for the reply, I look forward to this change over when it happens. I only have just over 2,000 DNOTES as I was doing the faucet strategy that someone post on the crpto moms forum and was able to get up over 2,000 DNOTES claiming from faucets and selling those coins and buying DNOTES. I will be adding some more once the change over takes place.

Now that is cool! The faucet idea was mine, and it looks like you stuck with it way better than I did. Congratulations!

Hi Wiser,

That is cool! Good to see you again!

It's great to be here. The last couple weeks have been really exciting in cryptocurrencies! And I just finished reading through this thread to catch up with the DNotes project, and I am very impressed. I am also super happy that you have a Bitcointalk thread again!

Hi Wiser. Delighted to see you here. We have used our "quiet time" from the forum diligently and got a lot done over the past year. DNotes is now well positioned to make some significant moves. Among various projects we are committed to a vision of 100% conversion to C# - giving us the advantage of knowing our own technologies and applications intimately well. Stratis is one such coin that has active development on C#, and we appreciate their leadership and contributions to our industry.
