881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Violence and anger could be a sign of gambling addiction in youths on: October 01, 2023, 08:56:33 PM
I knew this gentle soul growing up in my street, who just turned 24 years old and now he was into gambling without anyone knowing at home for the past 1 year, the only point that I hold unto from his mother is how he maltreated his junior brothers and sisters and he also have anger issues.

Is there any effective way to make sure youths stays where the are told to stay instead of looking for quick money? Gambling isn't the solution to poverty it will possibly drown you deep into more poverty.
I gambled in the past, still gamble but, have far more control over my gambling now than ever. In fact, I often gamble on the live games and establish a niche for my gambling. Like, that’s how much control I’ve got over the activity.
I never considered myself an addict but, I had a point where it was just another part of my weekly activity if I had funds for it and in most case, gambled because I wanted to win. The reality to the game made me cut these down but, I never had to maltreat anyone for satisfaction.

Gambling for a course of youths aggression? I think not. One of the drive for youths to seek easy money through gambling is because they’ve got no jobs. Give them a job and see some of them withdrawn from the activity.

Be it as it may, people have got a side they show to those that are close by and a side for those that observe at a distance. The two are never the same but, they are a part of the same person. It could be activated bu something but, it’s not caused by that thing. It’s always been there!

The Rashford-Bruno combination is the worst to have at this point because they are not only pricey but also useless; I just got go of Rashford for Son a few minutes ago.And that's something I could have done long ago. I won't be returning to any Manutd midfield anytime soon.
I agree with you on that, I don’t have Bruno but I sure do have Rashford and he has proven to be one of my worst choice in this season of the FPL. I would surely see him out either in the next game or perhaps have my WC revamp my team and off Rashford along with a few others.
The love on Son seems like a good one. His been up and about filling in for the absences of Kane and has so far been great at his job. You could find Spurs putting up good performances and Son seems to have his eyes on goal as it is.

Quote
Don't be concerned about your position; I went from 9th to 28th last GW since the point gap between the top and bottom is so close. Just keep pushing
The points gaps is definitely taking shape and soon, it’s going to be catch up. That’s not where I want to be this season, I hope to be setting the pace but yeah, it’s never that easy.
883  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Religions dispute in Nigeria on: September 30, 2023, 11:15:00 PM
To say religion no be really our wahala for the nation, e go mean say you dey underestimate or no give much attention to the things way dey happen for we country. If you be Christian and you dey live for the North, you no go only feel insecure but, the freedom to dress as you please go be big wahala.
Small dispute way go happen, e don turn watin be say, some persons go use take another person life. That na issue and a big one.

You go con still recall say, come election, we dey always get this ideology way be say, the results from the election pools dey agree with often say, the north no really dey practice democracy or dey choice who them like but, dey peg there choice based on watin dey sold to them from when them attend mosque. That alone, make Christians envy their unity and nothing dey stop Christians from being United.

Another matter way dey be the one way be disunity amongst Christian churches. Way on church go see themselves to be above the other, dey criticize the other and eventually, paint other denominations to be just a little above occult groups.

Na just few way I don mention but these dey make us forget say inside everything, we be human and na the most important thing be that. Na watin suppose make us unit and think ways we fit all survive together.
We need to ignore these religion and ethnicity something and be human!
884  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: INEC lament as voters shun PVC's in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo states coming election on: September 30, 2023, 10:54:04 PM
No body wan waste their energy, time on sumtin wey dem know say las las e go end as selection process by INEC wit support from the bastardized court processes and judgement. ( He popular slogan: if u don't lik it go to court).

Many many people for social media don dey even say as INEC don destroy their credibility wit their own hands PVC, BVAS, IREV all don turn useless bcos INEC go still announce results in favor for who dem want as winner.
No be lie, the snake don bite and e bite deep and nasty. No be small faith our people don put inside INEC following there plenty declarations, promises and inventions just yo ensure credible election but, even INEC no fit follow en own laws, disregard international observers and credit just watin money buy from them.
Them don show Nigerians say them sabi sell market and as e be like that, Nigerians don learn say, no need to go dey price watin dem no go fit buy again. As them dey sell highest bidder for backyard like this, make them come in the open and dey sell am. No need to dey provide the crowd way them ho use as cover to dey sell there market.

There lamentation no be because of the cards, na say them no get crowd to use cover watin them plan sell. Na so I dey see am. INEC whirl enough power to change this country but, then just too selfish.

Make them forget am, no need to go dey carry watin no dey work.
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I smell fear... on: September 30, 2023, 10:38:00 PM

The "priceless" could also mean that it becomes worthless (price-is-less = worth-less). You just have to be careful with their words.

I don’t know but, I’m getting a different understanding of the whole article from both the post in OP and after referencing the link provided by Z-tight. When Robert Kiyosaki is referring to the priceless nature of Bitcoin as a commodity, I think it’s in the nature of it being having so much value that makes it a hard to sell option.

Take a look at this quote from that very article;
Quote
According to Kiyosaki, the Fed CBDC would result in the loss of privacy but also lead to the increase in value of gold, silver, Bitcoin, and cash, which he believes will become “priceless,” and suggests investing in these assets and saving them “now before it’s too late.”

His actually advising people to buy as it’s a market for the future and he aligns it with other existing commodities within the centralized systems that has good values on them.
Bitcoin as it is, it’s already a hard to sell with majority of its hodlers having prospects and takes it more for an asset than a currency. How much more when its price behinds unmatched.
Be futuristic and buy to hodl for a long term.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Has Bitcoin Changed My Life? on: September 30, 2023, 09:32:08 PM
I realized that Bitcoin is not only a digital currency, but it can create financial freedom for many more poor people like me. I decided to buy some more bitcoins and I will make my life better and more comfortable. I quit my teaching job and started working an online freelancer so that I can earn more. I bought myself a new laptop, a smartphone and a computer. I helped the poor with some expenses and loans.
It was a good read up to this point. I mean, I would say you’ve done just well for yourself but, having to quit your teaching job for online freelancer jobs that don’t offer much (I don’t say this in comparison of your teaching job against the freelancer but, on the whole), with you giving loans, that would mean withdrawing from your hodlings, don’t seem like the best lives for me.

There is one thing to teaching though, it doesn’t entirely rest in the hands of profit making but, in the ability to impact and build future generations. You’re trying to create copies of yourself that might teach your children tomorrow.
Even still, the teaching job can’t effectively have much defect on your online activities and awareness. You’re still going to create time to attend to that.
Surely you know what’s best for you but, I don’t so much like the idea of having to quit a job to be more engaged online.

It's a good thing that Estupinan was replaced at half-time Grin
How many negative points do you even get for conceding 6 goals?

Watkins with 3 goals and 2 assists, fantastic start for all of us that have him in our teams.
This is you just mocking me right now, lol…

It seems it’s going to be a bad week to lose points after all. After having a good week over the course of GW6. Undated of getting points from the two players I had from Brighton @Estupinan -2 @Mitoma +1, it came off with an overall -1. Taking from me what I’m even yet to add when they should have been adding.

On the other hand, Watkins seems to have awoken the fire in his belly that made me get him at the beginning of the season. It’s just disappointing really that, this performance is coming after I had him sold off for Isak.

And what the hell am I doing with Marcus Rashford! It’s becoming obvious that this guy is going to be a bad investment for this season on the FPL.
Are we seeing Raya to be doing just as well as Ramsdale and that could mean, not as a replacement but bring about less games as there would be more switches between the goalkeepers… Having Ramsdale could just be costly as it has been for me through some games now (0 points).
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: September 30, 2023, 09:52:25 AM
If you must gamble, gamble responsibly. That’s what the case should be and for this reason, there’s a designated age grade for gambling which is overly believed yo be the bracket for reason but, does this actually have an effect on reason? How could one really find out wha his or her actions about an activity would look like even before diving into the act itself? Apparently not possible but when you eventually do, it takes hold on you!

Them, it becomes a question of how determined you are what discipline you can instill on yourself and the efforts you can put in to uphold.

Everyone has a weakness for easy money and seek to exploit any identified means but, you ought yo realize that even gambling itself is a business and you don’t go into business to lose so, it’s not going to be that easy on the wins. Abscond from the idea of finding a fortune through gambling and let it be a lucky situation for you rather than trying to make it through gambling. It would set a lot of unworthy behavior in motion even before you realize it.

Does anyone have status on the following players for this matchweek:

Isak
Saka
Maddison

Thank you.
Isak - Newcastle United face their most important match of the CL group against PSG next week, and Isak will likely lead the attack, thus he will likely play less or no minutes this weekend to cool off. Wilson will get things started.

Saka- He was sighted at the gym today; his injury does not appear to be serious, so he should get some playing time.

Maddison - He hasn't had a scan on his knee yet, and he'll most likely receive one tomorrow or next, but his injury situation is unclear for the time being, and I don't expect him to be pushed back into the lineup. To be safe, I'd do Maddison to Son.
Hhampuz, you just came up with my injury situation in exact and did what I wouldn’t have (Ask) but then, it was a much needed info and gladly, Igebotz did just by clearing them all.

Had some running on the Team News but, these managers didn’t emphatically cleared anything although, that of Maddison I seemed reassured of but, Son seems to have a situation of his own as well. The rest players was left hanging in the likes of Isak but, on the course of the reject runnings at Newcastle United and there PSG fixtures, it’s only reasonable to accept the likely scenario of Isak not having to future in today’s game and might just play less than 20minutes if at all.

Still, it was a very useful information for me to give my final verdict and the only risk I’ll be living on my team would be Saka.

This match doesn't look like a game week to target the double fixture aggressively the better team being Burnley are also facing Newcastle  in of those games making it rather not so worthy chase defenders from the fixture, and if you consider Luton being the worst team the league too. It's rather better to chase Midfielders/Forwards that have chances of playing in both fixture, Morris has been a pick for me, but I'm not heavily investing on this game, their are other players with a single match that seem like more viable options compared to players from either of both teams.
The current injury stats on my team made it an easy ignore for them teams @Luton Town @Burnley. Don’t see anything be lost not taking advantage of the DGW with these teams.
890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies identify with your local board on: September 30, 2023, 12:00:09 AM
As much as I like the idea of having some sort of identity with your people on the forum and some of the benefits that come with it, which extends to having to look out for one another and it’s one of the reason you could find some other users on the forum requesting for a board of there own. Privacy remains a part of the cryptospace and that’s an idea that is promoted on the forum, an idea that having to identify with a local board don’t really patronize.

I would say we should subscribe to the idea of freedom to chose if one would like to identify or not for whatever reason that they feel suitable enough. Some users are stigmatized while others don’t like the community or idea of being bounded to a people. Let them be left alone and very much have there choice to decide how it goes for them.
891  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: September 29, 2023, 11:53:36 PM
Early retirement is not the correct option, because you can earn after the retirement. But the sudden medical expenses you need to sell some assets or stock which will push you backward a decade. So it’s better option to work atleast till your 50 years which help you with the medical insurance which was covered from you salary. The medical was the unexpected one for now, even my mother and father had get into the health problems.Being a freelancer,I had suffered a lot to manage the funds for medical expenses.
Early retirement isn’t a very patronized idea for me. While you try to seek early retirement, there is so much that you could do with your youthful strength and intelligence.
Youth is a time to build, to channel not just your youthfulness but resources as well to the development of yourself in the things you can archive through what you have available at your disposal.

Retirement is an idea that comes in play when you can no longer do those things that you could easily do with your youth and thus rely on what you’ve built through your lifetime for survival.

I wouldn’t advice anyone to be in a haste and fast forward what would be in the time due.
892  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What else should we call this on: September 29, 2023, 11:39:46 PM
Why I bring this matter be say, if bitcoins go make life comfortable, make people their own bank , why government wey dey act like say them care for their citizen go dey fight am. This one na pure wickedness and e show say selfishness and corruption dey for the whole world.  If the government in every country believe in freedom, why dem go like hold people hostage in terms of financial freedom. This matter no clear at all.  Make person no talk say them no understand the system bcos na high tech people dey work with bank and dey know pass that one. This one na the highest level of wickedness wey dey happen for many country. Even if some country don dey allow people use bitcoins now, but e no dey always clear on their next move.
Omo, you just dey pour your own heart completely for ground from the way you dey sound and Omo, e no bad to reason like this o but, watin you no know pass you.

Before I talk anything, watin I go like make you know be say, “Freedom without any form of control na chaos”
Na why we get rule of law for every country, to put people in check.

Financial freedom is an idea but, no be watin we go jump over as, we still need fiat to be well functional for us to get anything close to a stable society.
For government to allow or permit anything, it’s to ensure say them leverage watin them fit provide assurance for. With them not being able to do that with bitcoin, them no fit give the go ahead.

While we dey look up to the selfish reasons and why I like the idea about decentralization and financial freedom, we go always give the idea space to develop in the heart of our government.

For every Oct 1, I dey always vex becos e dey always remind me say dis our leaders dey really waste the efforts of our heroes past.
No be lie, October 1st remains a significant day to the country and in the life of every Nigeria and like before, we dey see the patriotism in every Nigerian as that day dey green and white all over. Lately, that thing don change drastically. E no con be watin dey bring joy anymore for our people, e dey bring sadness in the hearts of our people via say, e dey remind us how far we don go but how little we don come.
Like, how people wan dey celebrate hardship and things way no dey ever change for good. Things just dey worst and worst.

When we talk about heroes past, these heroes no really do pass to secure our independence o. There lack of structure na em set the pace for this our wahala today. Not to mention say, this borrow to chop idea start with them.
894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you could..... What will it be? on: September 28, 2023, 11:13:29 PM
What if you could delete an occurrence from happening in the cryoto-world, both past and current events making it that they don't happen or didn't happened. What would it be?
I rather not do any of that!
Time is the one thing you intend mess with as, this would be you rewriting the history of not just a single person but, a log of individuals who would have issues reconciling there memory to deleted events or lost times of there existence.
When it rains here, its shining some place else, though the sun might shine at a spot, the earth does rotate to ensure an even measure of shine on zones.

The sad events that might have occurred in the cryptospace was not all sad for everyone. There were those who benefited from these events and that to them was, a good decision and am saying this without giving any particular considerations to the scams and hacks.
The events is a learning opportunity and taking it out of existence is you as well taking off that experience.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secure Your Legacy, Educate Your Loved Ones on: September 28, 2023, 10:28:15 PM
This is the saddest story I have read today. The lesson from it is to make the most of your time while you are here, both for yourself, family and friends. Do not relent on asking all the questions you need to ask about bitcoin so that you will be able to secure the financial well being of your  future generation in your absence.
I don’t see a sad part on this thread or perhaps am missing a point which you didn’t spread out for me to understand?
The individual in context as the screenshot on the thread carries depicts that, steps were carried out to ensure safety of self and family hodlings by this individual in context so, what’s the sad part?
His demise? I suppose not as that is inevitable in a persons life, bless his soul though but, hope he was aged enough and he’s left behind can find the strength to bare there lose.
The sad part still, is it on your side as to not have done anything about your hodlings?

The unforeseen nature of these incidents and the privacy nature of bitcoin makes it a difficult to decide on what’s the best means of making this inheritance possible.
Well, it isn’t a strange thing in the forum no more as several threads have been created on it.
896  Other / Meta / Re: Let's Make The Merit Fun - Win Some Merits And Next Membership In The Meta Board on: September 28, 2023, 08:00:00 PM
so I think admin must make virtual roulette in the meta board with free spins for all members. So forum member make free spins and win - either merits or next membership each day, even hero and legendary membership. So this will be more attractive forum and not so serious.
Are you suggesting or you’re instructing the admin on what modifications you want done on the forum?

The forum has got its own sense of humor and you don’t need no reward for humor, you having to laugh when you see some expressions is the reward, the laughter. What more reward for humor could be better than that.
I’ve seen usages throw constructive jabs at themselves on the forum and it’s cool to vibe that way with some, you could try it with forum familiars.

Quote
Spammers and trash posters are present in all forums, also here - merit system can not help, if the member want to spam & trash, he/she will do it.
So I think this gamble roulette will make forum life more fun & happy.
If you do think you need some games to be entertained, there are gambling sites that would even reward you in coins for games played. I obviously promote one with my signature space. Try it and you’ll be smiling when you win.

Meanwhile, it’s almost inevitable that spammers would spam but, they eventually get what they deserve. There are rules here and the rule on spammers has a gradual approach in transition to a permanent ban. If you value your account less and when your hit by the temporal band you refuse to pay heed, you would eventually see yourself out.
897  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I have a project, I expect your support. You can be a partner. on: September 28, 2023, 02:39:14 PM
One thing I always try to make clear to users seeking the lending services is that, you first put yourself in the lenders shoes. Like, how do you just pop out of thin air and be looking out for loans over an idea that isn’t overly expressed.

Your comment @OP for which I responded to hot me into your profile and posts if I could identify similar post patterns and I got to find out that,
You @OP created this account only yesterday,
You created this thread 14 minutes after creating your account,
~snipe~
1 hour after account creation and that be 44minutes after creating this thread, your up seeking loans!
I have a project, can we be a partner or provide a loan?

Like, how those this work on an anonymous site where one can easily do away with peoples money with zero consequences…
Establish yourself in the forum first!

People are opportunity seeking but, can’t let that drive them into the rush of making wrong investment choices.
898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is cryptocurrency illegal in some countries? on: September 28, 2023, 02:07:07 PM
Hi,
I see that you’re new here and I feel duty bound to inform you that, spamming is not allowed on the forum and this is what spam comments or posts look like. Kindly avoid such practices as, it wouldn’t portray you in a positive way. Other than saying, ‘this is true’ and that be all, you could just pass or maybe say something about what you’re seeing, perhaps how is this true and any other opinion on the course.

With respect to OP, one main reason why cryptos isn’t adorn by most is, the idea of decentralization. Government and governance is an organized body where power is centralized. Bitcoin conveys the idea of giving power back to the people and this isn’t an idea that the government ready want to accept. The only time power is given to the people is in the pools (elections). Still, the integrity of choices is still jeopardized.

Government continues to view Bitcoin as an anti to fiat and with fiat being its product, it’s hard to expect there ease corporation.

In 2016 when I was a kid, this coin got in stuck in my mind but absolutely everyone around me was telling me to forget it, it's scam, it's online shit
I don't think we can blame them  for looking out for you especially when the internet has so many scams and when someone brings you something that relates to it then they get defensive about it...but against all odds good to see you went with your gut feeling and stuck around!
Parents do the most to protect their child and obviously want/wish the best for them even when they don’t know what might be best. I would say, having a sound education as against jumping into bitcoin investments isn’t something bad or out of place. It’s a good decision for me and one OP should be grateful of as, it opens your mind to tools and understanding of concepts when presented with one. It could as well be because of your education that you’re able to deduce what has happened in your past and is happening right now in your finance.

As we all know, halving is coming. Should I invest my savings in Bitcoin? Or should I lean towards altcoins this time? Which one?
Just so you know, the halving is something that has a positive bearing on price but unfortunately the impact isn't immediate!!
If you don't mind buying and waiting a couple of weeks to months then by all means do invest in some BTC.
The best that OP could do for himself or herself is taking things up with bitcoin, study the project and network, save out funds to invest when you can else, there would be a lot more regrets after that. Just as you already know, opportunity doesn’t sit around and the price for bitcoin isn’t either.
900  Economy / Economics / Re: Our future with renewable energy. on: September 27, 2023, 10:34:45 PM
It's very possible for the world to move over to renewable energy. But there is large Market for crude oil already that is controlled by the high and mighty in the society, it has a very enviable profit margin. I feel this high and mighty people will fight the emergency of renewable energy because their source of wealth will be touched.
Secondly, it's too expensive to successfully establish the new structure of renewable energy across board, it can actually be done gradually with time but it will take a lengthy duration.
It’s sad that many things are politicalized in our world today but, some of the hold on renewable energy sources are linked with maintenance and cost of acquisition. These equipments are not readily affordable and if we could take the Tesla motors for an example, you would find out the business Musk is put in when the damages to these cars becomes the cases. It first needs to be affordable for easy adoption.

Quote
For me, making renewable energy come into fruition globally, it's something that should be done, because the direct emission of carbon has really affected and caused the depletion of the ozone layer,  there has been incessant occurrence of  heatwave is increasing by day, disaster like flood and wide fire constantly occurring. But if we begin to make renewable energy come through, some of this disasters will be reduced drastically.
For these, nature will always take its course despite human intervention. No doubt we brought or created situations that heightened the effects from these natural disasters but, finding your nation with certain regions or zones on the lines or longitude and latitude will always drag some of these disasters your way.

Good enough since have advanced to a point where we could predict but, it’s just sad that nature takes such toe on some of these nations. Even the Dinosaurs that did no carbon pollution got wiped out by disasters and what have you. Nature will always have its course!
