881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's freaking 2017 - Do you own 1 BTC? on: December 24, 2016, 01:13:11 PM
You donated 10 BTC!

Yes i did. Unfortunately they were not spent very efficiently : )
Anyways, it wasn't a big deal back then. I believed (and still believe) that currency circulating is important. In my view being only a HODLER doesn't make you a true Bitcoiner.

I second your thought as I believe circulation is needed to push adoption. But at the same time I think that you are free to act that way only if you are rich.
When your total balance is more than hundred bitcoins or more - then you can say: oh, I spent 10 BTC back in the day, it wasn't that much.
But when you are 'entry level; bitconer with less than 1 BTC then spending even fracture of your stash is counterproductive.
882  Economy / Speculation / Re: $$$ BTC PEAK PRICE IN DEC 2016 on: December 24, 2016, 12:35:33 PM
I thought before that when this we finally broke through $800 resistance that $1000 will be fast possibility. But I can see that this is not possible anymore.
Mainly because we entered Holiday season now, and trading on most western exchanges slowed significantly. Our best hope is to stay over $880 - which seems new resistance point.
We will not reach $1000 this year.
883  Economy / Gambling / Re: To all gambling sites. Please make play money games on: December 24, 2016, 12:28:13 PM
One thing I have not seen in many bitcoin gambling sites is the use of play money to let users try out their games first. Play money is a must if you want to attract users because most of us do not have the disposable income available at all times. Sometimes we only want to play for fun without the risk of losing anything.

Please consider this because it will also be good for you because your site will be discussed more in the forum.
Fortunejack offers play money for users to try out their games, when i get busted i use play money lol. it would be nice if you could make a list and update op.

Yes fortune jack does give you the option to play using play money. They also allow you to refill that play money. But I tried using it, and the chances of winning in play money is a lot higher than real money. I'm not sure if it's because it is play money or just because I was luckier in play money. But I prefer to play using faucet money instead. When I do get lucky, I can withdraw that money.
If there is even slight chance that casino is manipulating outcome of a bet even when no real money is involved then it is nothing but a scam aimed to lure more people to play.
So do you have any tangible proof that they are scamming people?
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins worth investing on: December 24, 2016, 12:16:54 PM
Some people mentioned Dash - for me it is somewhat controversial choice, because this coin is known to be dominated by a small number of large whales.
But after looking at their ecosystem I have to say that this system is effective in funding core development and building awareness of this coin.

And the main point which is making Dash so interesting is huge upgrade called Evolution set for release at some point in 2017 -
the best part of this update will be new "wallet system" - users will be able to create accounts and log in to their wallet from any device, directly to the Dash network.

Expect Dash price to soar after Evolution will be released.
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins worth investing on: December 23, 2016, 08:48:17 PM
Are we talking about totally new projects or existing coins with the best potential to be the best investment in 2017?

Existing coins which you may consider:

MaidSafeCoin - very interesting project, just wait for developers to finally deliver something more than an alpha version,
Antshares - Chinese Ethereum, this project may be backed by Chinese manpower and numbers - expect something big
Zcash - coins with unrealistic expectations, and I still don't like their distribution system with huge 20% tax - but it has potential and recent HUGE pump shows that Zcash may be a sleeping giant.

886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: typical Bitcoin user on: December 23, 2016, 01:58:45 PM
First of all, you have to be aware that despite numerous studies that were conducted about this topic, results are still unclear and may not be correct.
Because elusive nature of bitcoin you can't really estimate who is using/owning coins, you can't track or keep index of bitcoin users, not to mention learn who they are IRL.

Some articles: https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-user-demographics-european-males-age-25-34/

http://www.coindesk.com/four-types-bitcoin-users/ This text is not exactly about bitcoin demographic, but it is interesting nonetheless.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-03-10/demographics-bitcoin - this is the most viable source I found up to date.
887  Economy / Speculation / Re: That's time that's sure : we are in a pump on: December 23, 2016, 01:27:30 PM
I dont see it go much higher in the near future....
My 2 cents of course 8-))))
I am gonna disagree with you. There are various market indicators (RSI, MACD) which states clearly that this is not the end of bullish trend.
We spent too long under $800, so now when that resistance is broken the price may surge higher than $50-$70.
I am just gonna quote myself here, as scenario I predicted earlier is becoming a reality now. I analyzed today's charts - pump it is not over.
We are totally entered ultra bullish trend,  at this point I am sure that reaching $1000 is not impossible in 2016. It is still not too late to buy.
888  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why PayPal does not like BitCoin sellers? on: December 23, 2016, 12:44:07 PM
I try to sell BTC and stuff on ebay.

I got like 80% credit card scammer.

So a PayPal case is open, and the real owner of the credit card is refund, and your bitcoin are gone to the scammer.

The think with PayPal is this 180 days protection for the buyer, how a seller can handle to have his money unsure for 6 months !!! This is insane, I'm done with PayPal.

My 2 Cts,
You shouldn't even started with them. Definitely not in p2p fashion. Bitcoin users are always in bad spot when dealing with old school payment processors (credit card, PayPal users)
And I thought that selling cryptocurrency on eBay or PayPal is against their TOS in the first place - as they can't help with any dispute crypto users might have when something will go wrong.
889  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: December 23, 2016, 12:33:34 PM
I am a little sad that I followed sheep mentality of bitcoin crowd and sell part of my bitcoin stash 2 years ago in January.
As I remember price was around $220 back then. When BTC price finally recovered I was out of Fiat and couldn't rebuy my coins.
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas for selling a PC loaded with Top Altcoin Wallets on: December 23, 2016, 12:06:52 PM
The only reason you want to do this is to create publicity stunt. There is not need to sell whole PC - what really matters is wallet.dat.
So simple data storage like SSD or even Pendrive would be good. The problem is that owner can copy private keys and use it later, there is no way to check that.

Also I don't quite get what you want to achieve here. Propagate general cryptocurrency awareness among non-crypto users?
I would focus on one coin and try to promote it - and definitely start with Bitcoin - it is the safest bet.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is definition of 'Wagered'? on: December 22, 2016, 10:26:41 PM
Interesting. I know why you created this thread Dogedigital. It is because strange rules of Duckdice.io?
They use some kind of formula to determine wagering requirement for their bonuses, which is very misleading.
I support your case because I hate any kind of nontransparent rules and promos.
And honestly - Wagered Definition as Bitcoin risked divided by chance is really BS, nothing more.

I noticed that as your banner and logo you are using art copied from Guild Wars 2.

As we can see this image is protected by "registered trademark symbol". Any comments?
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you gamble your (or your child's) school fund? on: December 22, 2016, 11:23:14 AM
Well, I would say that I did this back in 2014. My mother already deposited all the money I need to pay for school for the year and also some allowance for my daily needs. I gambled around half of it on NBA odds. I lost that half. So I lived on really cheap food and really avoided buying anything. I even tried to avoid buying things I need like books just to save money. Was a gruesome year for me, luckily I got through. Wouldn't do that again.

How bout you guys, would you do it?
I am a very interested in psychology of gamblers. So I want to ask you serious question: what would you do if instead of losing half of your money you won?
Would you stop then grab money and call it a good day? I am more inclined to say that you would gamble until a loss, to push boundaries of your luck.
895  Economy / Speculation / Re: Latest Price Surge Due To Delayed Halving Effect? on: December 22, 2016, 10:52:33 AM
I don't think that the halving has anything to do with current price surge, of course it affected general price but can't be motor for sudden pushes like this.
It is general market attitude and its super bullish trend showing. All we need to know is that this not the end of upward trend, hourly MACD is suggesting more gains.

BUY!
are you buying right now?
Of course. It would be foolish no to buy, just look at the technical indicators of bitcoin price charts, they are crazy right now.
After we broke $800 resistance we gained $50 so fast and this is not end tomorrow we can reach $900.

Op, I will put it clearly to you. Because amount of logical fallacies in your posts are somewhat bugging me:

You want people to play and use your site yet you are not offering them finished product.
You may be right when you say that your site is popular in China, but bitcointalk is international forum with English being primary language.
How hard is to edit existing site and add English translation? Telling people to use google translator is like telling them they are second class users.

Do you think that somewhat mixed reception of your site is caused by people being in signature campaigns? Do you think they would say your site is amazing otherwise?
I might agree that some people's responses might be forced when in signature campaigns but they are not gonna change their stance and lie to you all of a sudden.

If you offer a good product/site/service you will find favourable reviews. Give people half baked service and you will be bashed. It is as simple as that.

I tried to test your site, this is what I see:

A whole lot of PHP errors is not good sign when visiting a site...
898  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinBlackjack.com - The BEST Odds BTC Blackjack on the net! on: December 22, 2016, 10:09:58 AM
biggest scam casino there is dont use it and his verifier is fake you can check code on his website
You know, there is a rule called "presumed innocence" if you can't prove that someone is telling lies or cheating then he in theory is innocent.

If you can't understand exactly how provably fair system, verifier works why don't you try to investigate it further?

Maybe seek help of some people who are skilled with determining whether verifier is working correctly?

So far you are only appear angry and your only line of attack is: "it is a scam because I say so".
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cashandme Challenge to make 1000mbtc from 2mbtc -Sports Betting- on: December 21, 2016, 01:00:34 PM
I've seen many tipsters/gamblers/enthusiasts trying to complete this betting challenge before. Usually they set some fantasy goal like earning 1 BTC with 0.01 or something.
From what I remember no one ever managed to win all consecutive bets. Usually people got impatient or angry and quit the challenge.
We need to be aware that this kind of betting challenge is very luck dependent and won't prove that you are exceptional sport bettor even if you win.

Anyway, good luck with your games. I will follow your progress.
900  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-20] More Chinese Bitcoin Miners Arrested for Electricity Theft... on: December 21, 2016, 12:40:34 PM
These chinese miners are getting out of hand! Now I think we should think twice before trusting a chinese miner offer his services. We might even get caught up with the problem and get imputed as one of their partners or accomplices. Not to mention, losing our investments with these guys. This might bring down the number of miners in china. China might create some laws that would restrict or even ban bitcoin mining in the country.

I hope that won't happen. The guys in question were arrested for theft not for mining Bitcoin. And those other 74 arrests earlier in 2016 were also related to electricity theft.

I think Bitcoin mining in China is such a huge business that some of the top politicians are already involed and having profits from it. So those politicians will do everything they can to prevent the prohibition of Bitcoin mining.
Can your provide source of this information? I never heard of any Chinese politician taking part in mining bitcoin openly.
I am not saying that it is not happening, but there is no info I could find about this.
