881  Other / Meta / Re: Understanding Multiple accounts (newbie) on: November 21, 2023, 09:19:00 AM
Buying of accounts was allowed in the past, but it’s currently highly discouraged due to the high use of the account for spamming. The restriction that could follow with such an account is that those earned glory in the past by the account owner, i.e., the trust built based on the old owner's reputation, are likely to be revoked. If people notice that the account was bought, a few members will tag the account, warning people to disregard their old trust rating.
Buying Bitcointalk account is still allowed, but it was discouraged right from the beginning. Accounts that are not bought can also be used to spam, but bought account can lead to scam and other bad... Not only that, the buyer can be scammed, the account can later been known for bad deed like plagiarism and be banned. That is why account sellers are given red trust. It is also not just good not to have the experience but just buy an account and post like a newbie and later be banned.
882  Other / Meta / Re: Understanding Multiple accounts (newbie) on: November 21, 2023, 08:51:10 AM
If you have two accounts and one of the two accounts is banned, that means the second account will be banned if known. Also if your account has been banned and you open another account and be posting (than on meta about ban appeal or so), your account will be banned again
883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Argentina Be The Next El Salvador To Accept Bitcoin As Legal Tender? on: November 20, 2023, 09:05:32 PM
El Salvador was the first country to make bitcoin a legal tender, but followed by Central Africa Republic. So Argentina will not be the second becuase CAR is the second. Let us see if Argentina will be the third. But what matters most is not about making bitcoin a legal tender, but for a country to be very friendly with bitcoin and accept it for payment.
884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control? on: November 20, 2023, 12:03:27 PM
We have all experienced a loss of control when it comes to gambling. Perhaps in my experience, this has happened several times and could happen again. It only happens when you forget to be responsible for the decisions you make. The biggest reason I see is the desire to win because we all know that money is involved. Sometimes, I think fate might favor me now to win because I've had a series of losses in the past. But if we continue trying to recover, the losses may only increase. While you may not be able to control the urge to gamble, at least you should be able to control your limits, especially when it comes to the amount of money you can afford to lose.
This is the most important thing in gambling, to use what you can afford to lose to gamble. Before we use any money for gambling, we should make sure it will not affect us in any way at all especially financially. We can be lucky and win big but if we do not win big, the losses should be bearable in a way we are not going to think about it at all. The reason some people are not able to control their losses and they continue to gamble more and lose more is just because money is involved as you said but it is not only because of that, it is also becuase they do not think about the consequences until they lost so much.
885  Economy / Economics / Re: when the rich say 'ill give 95% of my billion away over my lifetime' explained on: November 20, 2023, 08:47:15 AM
when the rich say 'ill give 95% of my billion away over my lifetime' they do not mean if they have $1b today they will be at $50m at death. what they actually mean is:

they have $1b in a bank account at 6% interest
meaning it earns $60m a year.
they give just $50m yearly interest away for the next 19 years ... (totalling the $950m pledge)
yet keeping the $1b lump plus earning $10m of personal spending per year
I was thinking how are some rich men thought they are wise but foolish to me for saying that they will give almost all their wealth to charity, I did not know that the money they earn after when they said it are not added. Which means they will even still make more money becuase they are business tycoons. But please can you give me some links I can read about this? I have noticed that rich men are very wise when it comes to money and wealth. And this is another example that rich people are just using to fool people.
886  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow wallet on: November 20, 2023, 08:28:12 AM
It would have been a good thing for some users because if you enter the wrong passphrase, the wallet will open with the keys of the wrong passphrase, but annoying for me because I did not requested for the extra security.

Are you using the latest version of Sparrow wallet? It was reported as a bug and appears to have been resolved here https://github.com/sparrowwallet/sparrow/commit/902243839749d1693eb93b3a1161f41d37d354a0
I have just downloaded the wallet yesterday and the it is the current version which is 1.8.0.
887  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Sparrow wallet on: November 20, 2023, 12:31:18 AM
Anytime I open Sparrow wallet, I will enter the password. After I enter the password, the next is that I will have to enter my BIP39 passphrase. It will state it like this:

Code:
Enter the BIP39 passphrase for keystore: BIP39

Under it is the master fingerprint.

I think I did something wrong while importing my seed phrase. Is there anything I can do that Sparrow will not ask me to enter the passphrase anytime I just open the wallet. I prefer only the password.

Or probably I will have no other option than to reimport the seed phrase and the passphrase.
888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some traps to avoid in bullrun. on: November 19, 2023, 09:03:25 PM
1.Invest in what you can afford to lose: I have read this line many times inside this forum and outside this forum that are crypto related discussion and what they tell you about crypto investment is to invest with the amount you can afford to lose to avoid had I know and regrets that later.
It is good not to keep coins on exchanges becuase the user do not have the complete control over his coins. It is also good to avoid scam and also hope for the best and prepare for the worst. But if you are a bitcoin holder, buy now at $36900 is still a good price. I do not think someone should just buy an amount that he can afford to lose but should be seen as an investment, I mean to invest in bitcoin and buy more at good time. If it is other coins, then you can consider it as gambling, trading or something far more risky and use the amount of money that you can afford to lose.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting today. on: November 19, 2023, 01:56:59 PM
This is a type of special bet which many people don't do it.I personally only watch it and have no clue how the most beautiful girl in the world is choose, for sure I have seen better looking girls in porn videos  Grin so this definitely does not decide that the girl that comes out as miss Universe is truly one of such kind.
It is hard to know who is going to be the winner, but that does not mean it is the reason why people are not betting it. I do not know if many people are betting it but it will not be a surprise if many people bet on it. There are casino and bookmark games that many people are betting on that the bettors do not know what would likely be the outcome, example is roulette and dog racing and all others and people like having fun and betting on the games.
890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk forum a home of solution on: November 19, 2023, 10:18:50 AM
You are right but some problems can not be solved. The problems are not solved because it is beyond what can be solved. Example is someone that send bitcoin to a wrong address and the transaction has been confirmed. If the transaction has been confirmed, the transaction can not be reversed and the money is just lost. But if the issue can be solved, Bitcointalk members always have clue to the solution. I love being on this forum.
891  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Massive influx of scammers activity during the bull season. on: November 19, 2023, 10:13:47 AM
Do not type your seed phrase or any site than your noncustodial wallet. Download your wallet only from the official website. Do not connect your wallet to fake or scam sites. Do not pay any money a site lured you to pay in order to get double or moy of the money. Avoid cloud mining sites. Be active on a forum like this.
892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really too Expensive? Then Buy Satoshis on: November 18, 2023, 05:42:58 PM
It is just as easy as saying it is not necessary to buy bitcoin if you do not have enough money to, becuase you can buy less than 1 bitcoin. Satoshi is the smallest unit of bitcoin but I do not think saying investing in satoshi is correct, it is still investing in bitcoin but people can buy less than 1 bitcoin.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most important thing in a betting site on: November 18, 2023, 09:24:31 AM
- Have a long and clean history
- Instant withdrawals
- Fast customer support
- No KYC
- Provably fair
- Should reward the players
- Should offer 2FA

A good casino should have all of these qualities imo.
Can you tell me good gambling sites that do not require KYC? Do not forget that most casinos are not decentralized but centralized and they can force their customers to do KYC at any time. I have been finding it difficult to find casinos that do not require KYC these days. The ones I still consider no KYC more are the web3 gambling sites, but I prefer web2 ones.

The casinos that have KYC can be good but just that their players do not have complete control of their coins and privacy is reduced.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Casinos with Online and Offline version, Are they the same? on: November 16, 2023, 05:51:23 PM
In addition to that, online casinos offer a lot of bonuses compared to physical casinos that don't have them. But in a physical casino, you must bring a large amount of money, while in an online casino, even a small amount is fine.
Offline casinos can offer you bonus if you are their good customer. But you are still not wrong becuase online casinos have more bonuses, especially the first time register and deposit bonus, I do not think that is available on offline casinos. But there are some bonuses on offline casinos like rakeback and some others. Offline casinos is fun and better to be than online casinos which can be boring and more addicting.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For sports bettors, are you attracted with bet builder feature? on: November 16, 2023, 05:45:58 PM
the bet builder feature isn't that new it's been around for  sometime now and it's more entertaining and time managing than the single bet due to how you can combine many games in one bet. It's not a waste of money and it's profitable if you can produce good predictions that corresponds with the games results, meaning that the chances of you winning using accumulation/combined feature is very slim. The advantage is that you can win big amount of money using small amount like $100 to bet due to the accumulation.
Since I have been gambling which is almost 10 years ago, I have been seeing bet builder, in a way you can put together many games. It is not new at all. I am just wondering that someone just know about it just now when I have used it before and with many losses. I can remember how I use it to stake and think I would win but all resulted to loss. I am not betting like that again when I know that it can cause more losses than to bet on a single match.
896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid trading crypto in real person. You can see this now on Binance. on: November 16, 2023, 04:59:14 PM
Just because someone got attacked during trade doesn't mean that buying/selling bitcoin in person is bad. Problem is that people are not using common sense and are not careful enough when doing that, which sometimes end uo them getting robbed. Using that logic many things you do in real life shouldn't be done just because someone somwehere got robbed/attacked.
Do you not think that doing physical P2P trading might been abused by robbers? Example of what I am talking about is to physically be attacked, but not only that. The other reason which was the reason I referred to as KYC is that some bad actors can see this as an opportunity to know who is trading on an exchange. They will not attack during the trading but give attackers information about the bitcoin trader so that they can attack him at his house. I can not trade bitcoin physically.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: November 16, 2023, 04:16:38 PM
It's normal to make mistakes and to learn from it and I think you're letting your emotion to get hold of you whenever you're on a winning run. For instance whenever you're on a winning streak, you don't have to go crazy and be betting recklessly because you were able to grow your balance from $150 to $2000. Be disciplined, keep wagering the same amount or increase it a little bit and at any point if you feel you're loosing it, quickly stop. Also, a good way not to become reckless with your bet is to withdraw your winning and leave just your bankroll.
If I gamble and I win little, I stop gambling for that day. That is just how I like it. If someone gamble and continue to win and he continues to gamble, the later outcome can be very disappointing. I have seen days that I will continue to win until I continue to gamble and I lost more at the end of the day. I prefer to keep wagering the same amount that I started with than to increase the amount of money I am using to warger. If you increase the amount, it can be the start of a way to lose.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 16, 2023, 10:53:20 AM
Giving back to the community? Did community gave me anything so that I can give back if I earn? No community gave me anything and I am not giving anything back.

If I gamble, it is from my own money. If I lose, community or no one will give me anything, so why giving to the community? I do not have anything to give as they do not have anything to give me.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning big amount after watching streamer on: November 16, 2023, 10:50:13 AM
Or maybe it was your lucky day or night for that matter that after the streamer winning big, you just decided to try your "luck". Don't get me wrong, I also love to watch streamers from time to time and see how they are doing, but being just a regular gambler, not sure if I can win big just like them.
That is just it, it was his lucky day. But bonus buy can make the probability of that to increase if compared with other bets, bonus buy helps gamblers to win more. But in the process that some people want to win huge and they use bonus buy, more money is required and this can lead to more loss. So we can still say that is his lucky day.
900  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid trading crypto in real person. You can see this now on Binance. on: November 15, 2023, 06:34:13 PM
I have not seen this option yet in my local P2P option, and even if it's available, I will not use it. I'm not a strong supporter of F2F trade.
It is now real on Binance. This is it:

It is the forth one which cash trade crypto in person via cash is.

It is very bad that exchanges will make this happen. There should not be anything like this. I am also advising people not to use it if they want a private and protected life for themselves.
