Something's happening (not sure if that's the same video mentioned in OP):

Yes, I am talking about this same video but I saw it on another channel. Russian military movement near Leningrad. I think now it's pretty much confirmed that Finland and Sweeden are going to join NATO this summer. Maybe that's why Putin is heating the pot for the next aggression.
882  Economy / Economics / Sri Lanka defaults on its $51 billion external debt on: April 12, 2022, 10:50:26 AM
Quote

Colombo: Crisis-stricken Sri Lanka defaulted on its $51 billion external debt on Tuesday, calling the move a "last resort" after running out of foreign exchange to import desperately needed goods.

The island nation is grappling with its worst economic downturn since independence, with regular blackouts and acute shortages of food and fuel.

Sri Lanka's finance ministry said in a statement that creditors, including foreign governments, were free to capitalise any interest payments due to them from Tuesday or opt for payback in Sri Lankan rupees.

"The government is taking the emergency measure only as a last resort in order to prevent further deterioration of the republic's financial position," the statement said.

It added that the immediate debt default was to ensure "fair and equitable treatment of all creditors" ahead of an International Monetary Fund assisted recovery programme for the South Asian nation.

The crisis has caused widespread misery for Sri Lanka's 22 million people and led to weeks of anti-government protests.

International rating agencies had downgraded Sri Lanka last year, effectively blocking the country from accessing foreign capital markets to raise much-needed loans to finance imports.

Sri Lanka had sought debt relief from India and China, but both countries instead offered more credit lines to buy commodities from them.

First Lebanon now Srilanka declared themself bankruptcy. After the covid-19 break out some countries(especially those whose source of income was from tourism) face severe consequences. Another source of income was exporting quality tea which was also reduced significantly. Srilankan tea brand is infamous in the world. Besides that, some bad decisions from the govt like forbidding tp importation of fertilizer to produce organic foods create food shortages in the country. Mostly covid and govt is to blame for this current situation in Sri Lanka.

Note: Neputism is very common in srilanka and most of the important ministry is occupied by brother and relatives of current PM.
883  Economy / Economics / Re: New crypto law in Bangladesh? on: April 12, 2022, 06:59:34 AM
It was an welcome move in Bangladesh. With my knowledge, their was huge number of crypto investors in the Bangladesh. This will change the current price of bitcoin, which is 45k dollars. After few days, the price of bitcoin was reduced to low value.Nearly 3000 dollars was reduced in few days.As we know as a traders, this change in price was just an number and it change in short period.

Crypto awareness in Bangladesh is very small compared to its neighbor India. I do not know where you get that data about a huge number of investors in Bangladesh. I think those people are just small traders and there is some youth working in the different sector of blockchain tech from Bangladesh. But this number is very small.

Cryptocurrency is not legal in Bangladesh yet but according to Bangladesh central bank owing cryptocurrency or virtual assets is not a crime. But the crypto presence in Bangladesh is still very small.

The price of bitcoin is moving sideway and this could continue like this for a long time. Former BitMEX predict the bitcoin price at 30k in June 2022.
884  Other / Politics & Society / A possibility of Russian attack on Finland and Sweden on: April 12, 2022, 06:50:52 AM
Currently, the war in Ukraine is ongoing which become a big concern for other EU members. Many countries like Poland, and Germany have increased their defense budget. After invading Ukraine Putin warns other non-NATO members(Sweeden and Finland) along with its border not to join NATO or they will face destructive consequences. After that support for joining NATO in that two respective countries increased above 50%.

Russia or we can say the former soviet union took major losses in the previous Finland invasion. Both nations have advanced military technology compared to Ukraine. Some NATO countries said Russia could attack Finland before it will be able to join NATO. So it could be Putin's last decision to invade any country if he really tries to invade Sweden and Finland.

Finland and Sweden could soon join NATO, prompted by Russian war in Ukraine

In a recently published video, I have seen the Russian military movement close to the Finis border.

885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Store my Crypto what is best? on: April 09, 2022, 08:53:02 PM
Hardware wallets are a good option (Trezor or Ledger). Bitcoin QT is a good option to store your bitcoin, you can encrypt your wallet. Paper wallets are good too, there are positive & negative aspects to all options I described. DYOR & decide what works best for you. The main thing is do not leave crypto on exchanges for too oong, do not store crypto on any online wallet where you are not the sole private key owner.

A hardware wallet is the best option but you can not buy it from a place where crypto is not legal yet. Also, it requires a desktop device to operate and most users use mobile phones to manage their crypto wallets. So it will be better to suggest a wallet that is available on mobile phones also trustworthy. I am using trust wallet since its creation time and I can say it's one of the best multi-wallet for mobile users.
886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason people join bitcointalk forum on: April 09, 2022, 08:33:44 PM
Most people join this bitcointalk forun for just the money, there alot of Bounty hunter in this forum, most of them don't even set their foot in this beginners and help section because they don't really need to, and they end up having very little or NO knowledge about crypto currency.

I do not think that is true. Earning money from the forum is a way how users can use it. But there are users who use this forum mostly for knowledge gathering. It's a great place to know about community feedback about any crypto project or service.

If you think most people came here for bounty then I want to remind you that most of the account that post only on the bounty section is Alt account. There could be around 500-600 real users who work on different bounty projects. This is my personal opinion, not exact data.
887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did I just went too far? on: April 09, 2022, 07:33:33 PM
This funny question has been bugging my mind all day, trying to sell a token that landed in my wallet, which I never worked for, bought or earned,
I doubt you can sell those tokens.
Most probably, they are worthless tokens that have't been listed on any exchange and can't be traded at all.

my friend was a victim to this act today and lost all valuable tokens in his wallet,
I'm not sure I am getting you correctly.
Your friend tried to sell the tokens that have been received freely and then lost all his tokens. Am I getting you correctly? If so, why do you want to do the same thing?

This is quite an interesting and new method for scammers. They just target some wallet that is currently active and sent a scam token to that address. Somehow they use a scam dex created by themself where the price shows the abnormally higher price. Most of the time greedy one fall for the trap and lost all of the other assets too that he was holding in their wallet. One of my colleagues loses all of his funds to this trap.

I think he is talking about something like this:

888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Merge all the stable coin into one. on: April 09, 2022, 07:17:34 PM
... . The total stable coin supply is $180 billion.
I hope you wouldn't mind but can you share the breakdown of this amount?

You can also check this article: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-02-24/stablecoins-soar-in-value-as-everything-else-in-crypto-shrinks#:~:text=The%20total%20market%20capitalization%20of,compiled%20by%20The%20Block%20show.

It's possible to happen but the main question is whether these developers wanna try to do that. Those developers have their own vision and it can be said that if that's almost impossible to merge the stable tokens that developed or maintained by the different team. The possible thing that to create a new universal stable token that will be representing the whole of stable tokens in our ecosystem.
I think that the answer is yes but with various factor that appeared and it can become a big no.

Now what I am seeing is every blockchain is bringing its own stable coin. Most of these blockchain has their own supporter and investors but is the volume of all the stable coin really so significant that we need a stable coin for each blockchain? Why do we need so many of the same things!!! why we can not use an existing one if there is nothing new we are achieving.

889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Merge all the stable coin into one. on: April 08, 2022, 08:00:34 PM
There are many stable coins in the market with a different name. The only difference between them is the blockchain they use and the assets they collateral. Stable coins are usually backed by fiat currency, commodities, crypto assets, and Seigniorage but they all have the same purpose. Recently terra announced a stable coin backed by bitcoin and rumors spread that near protocol is going to issue another stable coin. My question is why do we need so many stable coins when they all serve the same purpose?

What I saw from the market is they are trying to overthrow one another from the top position. The total stable coin supply is $180 billion. Is it possible to merge all these coins into one universal crypto stablecoin so that users do not need to switch between these stable coins again and again?
890  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Have you been infected with Covid-19? on: April 08, 2022, 06:21:48 PM
Both my girlfriend and I have been infected with Covid-19, not sure which variant though. The disease was passed to us from one of her stupid friends, who was careless and was out drinking every night.  Symptoms include, headache, sudden fever (up to 38 C), sore throat and coughing, while my tonsils look swelled and inflamed.

This is the fourth day after I got diagnosed as positive, while the quarantine supposedly last 5 days. I highly doubt it that I'll be able to get back to work by Saturday. Have you been recently infected? What symptoms did you have, and how long did the infection last?

Actually, it's hard for me to answer because I have never tested. Since the Covid-19 breakout till now I had some of those symptoms that you had but not all of them at once. I didn't face any major consequences after that and took two doses of Pfizer. I hope very soon I will be able to get my booster dose too.

This pandemic cause great problems to our society and many people have died but, to be honest personally I knew only one person who got infected and died because of Covid-19. I think the media spread more fear than they should be.
891  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Has Russia committed War crime? on: April 07, 2022, 07:03:25 AM
From the definition of war crime by Wikipedia
A war crime is a violation of the laws of war that gives rise to individual criminal responsibility for actions by the combatants, such as intentionally killing civilians or intentionally killing prisoners of war, torture, taking hostages, unnecessarily destroying civilian property, deception by perfidy, wartime sexual violence etc.

Looking at the meaning of war crime from the above definition by Wikipedia, Russia has already committed War crime and should be charged to international criminal court to face the law and pay for damages done to the people of Ukraine.
Should that be why President Joe Biden is calling him a war criminal.

What's your view on these?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_crime

Who will investigate this matter that Russia killed civilians and pow? This type of action is very common in a war zone and I am 100% sure both sides have committed war crimes but there is no way we can conduct an investigation about those claims. In a recent activity, we have seen in the city of Bucha the streets were full of dead bodies after RF left the city. But Russian official claims those dead bodies were after they left the city.

Also, I have seen some videos that clearly show some of those dead bodies moving their hands when a military convoy was passing by. How that's possible and who will investigate these?
892  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is a game of quantity on: April 07, 2022, 06:10:01 AM
a deep drop in price is a purchase at a discount when we allocate it in bitcoins. the thing to remember is that bitcoin supply is limited and currently only a few people in the world are in it. That way, actually buying at any current price is still safe for long-term investments. especially if we take advantage of the bearish season to buy, of course, the greater the profit that will be obtained. but the biggest enemy is ourselves who often panic sell by looking at price reactions
That's right I hardly see anyone who is ready to invest in Bitcoin and hold it for a long time. It is really a difficult thing for most people and I do understand that it is because they do not have much money to spare.

Actually, people think BTC is overpriced right now and because of its high volatile nature, they could take huge losses they can not bear. I think their concern is not invalid at all because if you compare BTC with any other commodity then you will see the return of investment of BTC is insane for early adopters. Many think that now only having a fraction of BTC will not be a huge financial gain for the future as it was for early investors because it's overpriced.
893  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Time to help Ukraine push back on: April 06, 2022, 04:35:30 PM
In my view, it is about time for US and Europe to start providing Ukraine with the right equipment and support for their army to be able to push back Putin's army back into Russian borders. Let's make sure that this war is the last one he dares to wage and we will all, including Russians, be safer and, one day, more prosperous.

Now is time to stop "resisting" and start the ass-kicking.

I think the USA is already supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine. Jao Biden already announced about 800million dollars worth of weapons and shipment for those weapons is already ongoing so right now the right thing is to use those weapons carefully. I have seen some videos where Ukrainian soldier abandoned their javlin on the battlefield which was later captured by DPR and LPR forces.
894  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Deeper Look Into The Ukraine War on: April 06, 2022, 04:12:38 PM
This war would end with Russia (or its vassals) being in control of those resources. Majority of the fuel deposits are in the western separatist regions and within Crimea's EEZ. Smaller deposits are to the east near Moldova - where there are also separatist movements that's very likely funded from Moscow as well.

Winning this war achieves multiple objectives for Russia (gaining resources, keeping NATO away from the border, dropping a future rival down several pegs, etc) that this war simply has to happen.

I have already made a clear analysis about this in one of my posts in the forum here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5390494.msg59577912#msg59577912

Russia just wants to remain the number one position of supplier of natural resources in the EU. They do not want any competitors in this sector because this is the most profitable and major source of income for Russia. Also, the more EU depends only on Russia for natural resources the more influence Russia will have over them which has already been proven recently. Ukraine was also causing problems for Russia with gas transit so Russia had no choice but to neutralize Ukraine to secure its finance source of income.
895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers show no mercy, this is how serious crypto investment has become on: April 06, 2022, 08:13:33 AM
It's sad but true that scammers have made more money than investors themselves in this bull market, this is why you need to be extremely serious with your money, we investors are the ones funding scammers' pocket, this is why you should avoid most metaverse projects and play2earn games, remember they are hungry and angry people that will go any lent to achieve their ill-gotten dreams, lets stop helping them.

Its become a trend in the crypto space. Scammers always follow trends and use that hype to make scam projects. Last year when the meme coin trend become so successful we have seen a lot of copycat meme projects and later on, metaverse hype kicked in. The problem with investors is they do not put enough time to do some research about the project team and partner. As long as investors do not be conscious of their investment this type of scam will continue.
896  Economy / Economics / Re: The first country in Europe to pay for gas to Russia in rubles on: April 05, 2022, 09:21:43 PM
According to media reports, the Vatican Bank has accepted payments for Russian gas in rubles.
The source also said that the Vatican bought rubles from the Central Bank of Russia for the equivalent of 10 million euros and that the Vatican has completed all the necessary steps in the method of purchasing gas in rubles.

Currently the news has not been confirmed by either party, but if this is true and creates a domino effect. It can be said that European sanctions against Russia have failed.

source: https://iravaban.net/en/375887.html

So western sanctions failed to destroy the Russian economy. Now it seems this war was actually profitable for Putin. All those who were calling Putin a mad man and responsible for the downfall of Russia's economy now can enjoy the flourishment of rubles. West can try to find an alternative to Russian gas but they will never match the cost of Russian gas.

Fortunately you are wrong.
Russians do have bear the weight of the sanctions ofcourse and their economy is not just being destroyed but also these are causing long term effects. Some countries would ofcourse agree to pay them in rubles but this would only give a small pump to their already destroyed economy.
There is definitely a rebound of Russian Ruble and the price is increasing but this does not mean that the value would go back even if there are countries like India, China they would still need much more support to make their economy better and stronger.

So how did the price of rubles come back to the same place that was before the start of the war? How did Putin manage to recover his 40%-50% fall within a month? There won't be any long-term effects because there won't be any real replacement for Russian gas. The USA could provide little support for a very short time only. Russian gas is cheap and EU need that gas to run their economy. There is not any alternative at least till now.
897  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia wants to build a new world order with China on: April 05, 2022, 09:08:43 PM
Russia can take Ukraine in a day but they are also not in a hurry for they don't want to spend all thier ammunition on this country that they consider peony. Remember that this Ukraine war is not the real war yet. They know any time, the US military can just barge in even when it's against the law. They have done it in the past in several countries, the news was that they are using old ammunition to fight Ukrainians. Seeing they have hypersonic missiles but used twice only afaik.

The fight now is economic too, so Russia is also not concentrating more on this war, after all, they have won skirmish attacks, thier country is not ruined, and its good for them. All they need is to grow thier economy in their own ways.

I am not sure why you think that is possible! Any people with little military knowledge will understand how difficult it is to occupy a country when the people of that country are hostile towards the invasion force or they have a military force. It's not about the ammunition I think Russia is testing its military capability in Ukraine but they failed to keep good order with logistics and support. They have one of the strongest airforces in the world with superior technology and they still use fighter jets from the soviet area. The same things have been seen with Tank and APC. I am not sure why they are doing this when they have the capability.
898  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predicts Bitcoin price by 2025 on: April 03, 2022, 05:28:57 PM
If you explore google and youtube about price prediction in 2025 then you will find tons of well-explained posts about it. Most of them will look pretty legit to you because it's a free market and anything can happen. No one is stopping you from fantasizing about it and there are different opinions about it. But one point everyone agrees upon that is the price of BTC will be higher than it is right now and that all matters. If I know the price of assets will increase eventually then I would buy every dip if possible because I know there is no chance of loss.

Gilbert's Research shows people from 18 to 68 underestimate how much they will change in the future, because of that they miss long term financial plans! What do you Think? Do you have any long term financial plans?

Most middle-class kid and their parents have only one dream and that is to finish their graduation and get a job and get married. This is their future planning though there is always some exception. Though I am from a middle-class family childhood was fun for me and I enjoyed my life. To be honest there wasn't any future plan but there was only planning for tomorrow. Now after graduation, I found out I made a grave mistake. If you are still studying you should be planning for your post-graduation career right now.
