882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How a scammer stole 500$ from me and in the end begged me not to tell his parent on: September 10, 2016, 04:41:02 AM
great story, but you have invested some hours into it, which is a pain. this is still better than getting nothing, but if he was more cautions, you would probably have no chance.
you still have to trust to many people on the internet. this reminds me to use an escrow more often then i do.

It is good to stop things early on.  It is just too easy to play the games sometimes and when the first one pays off for them in what a person that age should consider a decent sized amount
883  Other / Archival / Re: [NCL] Nucleus Blockchain - Join today, Trading is live on prelaunch! on: September 10, 2016, 04:39:33 AM
what  happened to this coin in it's early stage? but i never loose hope, i invested some BTC on this coin, hoping that it will get back what is lost.

Without delving too deeply at this second, I set up an account and started looking around.
It seems like an almost exact copy of NXT.
884  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Skills vs Luck *poll* on: September 09, 2016, 06:47:44 PM
A shrewd investor might have spotted the tale tell signs that one was going for the top and the other not, but a good investor would have picked both for the long term haul and the fact that the stocks were low on both back then, had a boat load of cash right now, despite the fact that they had invested in the other company also.
885  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: September 09, 2016, 06:46:29 PM

Yes,holding of bitcoin is safe but I don't agree when yu said holding of bitcoin is not profitable cos holding is profitable. Are you saying some people that bought bitcoin when the incident of bitfinex happen don't make any profit now that the price of bitcoin is $625?

Correct. As for me, I see the event of an exchange being hacked (and Bitcoin's price decrease) an opportunity to buy more cheap Bitcoin. Usually, when this happens the price of Bitcoin recovers after a few days and then you can make a very nice profit. Also, holding your Bitcoins right now will turn out to become very profitable in the end once the price starts climbing towards the $1000 mark. It is best to keep your coins safe in a paper wallet or a hardware wallet such as Trezor for use as a virtual vault.  Grin

It is profitable but it is a long term investment and not like a daily income. Trading can be a good source of daily income if you are good at it but it is not a steady income too because you can do bad trades and there will be no income.

Trading can be one of those things that takes care of you, but it is a little like gambling, it can turn around and get you.  If you absolutely depand on anything for income, then insure that it is a guaranteed thing.

Yeah its hard to expect steady income from trading, if you are good you may get regular profits but even though you can't be sure that you will be earning specific amount daily.

If you just want to see your income in BTC instead of USD, then have your paycheck direct deposited into a site that transfers to Bitcoin, make sure you research the company and make sure that you check the rates.

Seems much like new ADZcoin enabled in adblocker.  Grin
Too long ICO and it seem you guys are investing a lot in social media marketing, do you guys already have some inside investor for all this costs?

Many smaller online setups can make some money early on, but you have to spend money to make money and taking care of those in the beginning that can help take of you in the end.
887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Doubling Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2016, 06:39:41 PM
I always loved the fact that one of the largest exchanges out there has a Dice game right on the NavBar.  It is that one last chance to lose all your investments before withdrawing your funds.

I wonder how many people have lost money on there after making it in the markets.  It is probably not something that happens often, since those that are trading likely have more sense than that, but the button is right up there, anytime a person wants to give it all away after hours and hours of hard work.
888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how strong is bitcoin really? on: September 09, 2016, 06:37:47 PM
Supply and demand make bitcoins strong or weak, more involved people that use bitcoins in any way are the backbone of the bitcoin. Economy and price depends from that, and if we are strong now, in future and with more members bitcoin can become the strongest currency on earth. I'm thinking that now bitcoin is growing very fast, just in little more then a half of year, bitcoin gambling is exploding, price went almost triple more times up.
Bitcoin is very strong, soon banks, governments and everyone else will realize that they need to start to fear from bitcoins.
I regret cause I didn't found bitcoins earlier, but in some moments I understand that for many people across I'm the world I'm early adopter.

The only possible conceivable weakness is in the pwoer of hard forking and that is pretty much impossible to fake that many people into accepting a newer software version.
889  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum on: September 09, 2016, 06:36:04 PM
OP,

Please make sure to encrypt your wallet with a significantly "tough" passphrase if you are going to have your online computer holding your wallet's private keys/seed.  Your original question was whether or not Electrum is safe.  In short it IS.  But if you allow your computer to get compromised and your Electrum wallet is sitting there wide open its not really Electrum's fault now is it?  I have used Electrum for quite some time now.  Because of how good the "bad guys" are getting, I would recommend using two computers with one offline holding the ability to sign Electrum transactions.  The online computer can be watching only where the private keys are not on it making it much safer.

Electrum is great software and Thomas is "on top of" watching the front door!

The cool thing about the way that Crypto wallets inherently work is that you can have software issues and the money is still there.

If you somehow completely jacked up the installation of Electrum, but the wallet file was in tact or even backed up, then as long as you have the passphrase the wallet is still usable to you.
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] OPAIR | Decentralized Debit Cards | OCaml | New Blockchain Platform on: September 03, 2016, 03:31:10 PM
I'm still waiting for signature campaign to pay out .. I'm still waiting for my opair coins to arrive..

Pay outstanding promo work .. build the wallet, make the coins and send them out .. at that point you can start asking again about the escrow funds.. atm 2nd phase escrow isn't needed because opair already has 1st phase funds to work with..

Wasserman, the part you misunderstand (I think) is that no agreement will be achieved because Opair hasn't made any opair yet ..

1. Pay outstanding bounties
2. Wallet
3. Send opair to the investors which now have a wallet
4. Make a concrete plan about what comes after that and then talk to sj again ..
This is the part where you and sj reach an agreement ..

ATM, you you have done none of the 4 above mentioned points ..

Edit: You are want to reach an agreement about Term2 while Term 1 is still pending inputs..

Term 1 – Pre – Ann

891  Economy / Services / Re: Coin Developer WANTED!! on: September 03, 2016, 02:36:38 PM
Hi. I want to know how many developers are you planning to get?
Because I can only give you the website part. I also have a little understanding in Blockchain API.
Tell me if you are interested. Thanks!
If you search on this forum or google it, you will find people who will create coin which includes everything that too in very cheap prices. This is the reason these days we see lots of new alt coins everyday and most of the creators of coins develop them for short term profits.

Developing a good coin is not everyone game  and you need to find a good developer to make your coin if you want it to be successful in the long term. Also Note that you need to develop projects and Websites also to promote  coin.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Monero replace Bitcoin soon? on: September 03, 2016, 02:30:47 PM
Bitcoin is way more established than Monero. NO, Monero will not replace BTC

There will come a time when someone that does not have Bitcoin core downloaded and does not have the programming knowledge or the time needs to secure a TX, knowing that one of the great things about BTC is "no refunds".
893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down? on: September 03, 2016, 09:25:49 AM
I owned a call center about ten years back and when I would open the office in the morning, I had to turn on the 100+ PC's in batches of ten.  I could not get it through the night managers head that the PC's running all night was not a high cost issue.  The issue was that they all ran Windows XP clients that all connected and used two central Windows Servers.  100 computers hitting the servers at the same time with start up requests would either crash it within a minute or so or the start up would take almost thirty minutes.  The internet going down is not the issue, it is the internet coming back on that would be the problem.  Phones, PC's, routers, all trying to hit servers that may or may not have booted quicker.
894  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Sites - Share Yours Experiences. on: September 03, 2016, 06:03:21 AM
Even those sites used to gain money from the uncollected amounts that never hit the minimum, but I am pretty sure that once the amounts hit faucetbox or whatever micro they use, the original site has lost it.
895  Economy / Services / Re: Solve Captcha in free time and Earn Money on: September 03, 2016, 05:58:58 AM
i am.interested but i want to know what is time interval of filling capatcha in the given user name . if it will be 1 hour then also i am interested but it is more then 1 hour then i don't think it is useful for earning purpose .

I was wondering how this compares on a revenue basis with using a Bitcoin faucet rotator.  Essentially you are doing the same thing and getting the same end result.

The question would be which pays more in the end , Captcha  or faucet  which is going to be worth the time and effort. Both are good but faucets are easy in my point of view
896  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ModoBot.com open enrollment on: September 03, 2016, 05:55:24 AM
Also, when the info is put into the form, there is no immediate indication that there is anything going on.  i would expect more of a save and then a run button, versus the fill it in and it catches up with you system.  Just a couple things, checking it out more now.
897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Monero replace Bitcoin soon? on: September 03, 2016, 05:53:11 AM
Lol, Monero will not replace bitcoin. Wake up

I think Eth, Monero and others like that have made it easier for the same user to do things that might need to be done and to make up for the laymens inability to fully use Bitcoin, not meant in a mean way.
898  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bter duty on: September 02, 2016, 03:48:58 PM
Ok, I used to use their site and do not remember what BTB-B was versus BTC.  I know there was the fund they had, that was not a coin, but an investment, but to properly figure this out, we need to know what that indicates.
899  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Sites - Share Yours Experiences. on: September 02, 2016, 03:46:27 PM
I was on that site SmashBTC for a bit at the beginning and did not really get scammed, I was just disappointed that it didn't continue.  I think that the revenue is just not there on a site that pays a good amount for user actions that do not directly produce revenue.
900  Economy / Services / Re: Airplane Tickets for Bitcoin on: September 02, 2016, 03:16:56 PM
I see the reason that you might want to do this, but at the same time, there has to be a serious impact on the attachment of your idenity to that particular Bitcoin address.  While there may be sites and companies that sell the tickets for Bitcoins, they are surely going to get your info at some point for security reasons and that will mean that BTC address and you can end up linked.
