881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: September 23, 2023, 09:35:04 PM
Well, a lot of us are being warned to avoid meme coins because they can be dangerous for our funds. But why do all of a sudden those who invest for dogecoin and Shiba Inu way back then have experienced maximum profits even more than they can imagined. That is why I don’t see them as tarnishing the image of crypto. If there would be any, those are the people who only invest for crypto as a get rich quick and then turn their backs on them when  they are already on the position of losing.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: September 23, 2023, 03:24:13 PM

I wonder why many people believe that there is a tool or application that can win at gambling, the application developer will definitely not share or even sell the application to anyone because he wants the "bug" to be active forever to get bigger wins at gambling, if we realize that then developers sell trash apps to gamblers who believe in fake algorithms to win gambling.

Just a simple analysis, and we will understand why there is no such tool that would help us win. If we are talking about exploiting a gambling site, that's not going to happen as they are one step ahead of us. I guess we should just focus on a certain type of games, a game where you don't have to deal with the house. You know, like sports betting. I think it's way more realistic to be profitable here in the long run than playing games that have a high house edge. We know the house will kill our chances in the long run; that's how simple math works.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 23, 2023, 02:35:53 PM
When Gilas loses, there will be a lot of negative comments, but if they win, you'll see the words 'proud Pinoy.' That's the kind of mentality, though.

That's definitely normal, and I'm pretty sure Coach Tim Cone is ready for that. But anyway, he does not speak Tagalog, I believe, so those bad comments in Tagalog might not hurt him, unlike Coach Chot, who is a pure Filipino. The way I see it, it seems like we hate our own but love and respect foreigners. We tend to believe that they are better than our Filipino coaches. Well, maybe it cannot be denied, though, as Tim Cone is currently the best coach in the PBA, so he deserves to coach our national team.

By the way, we can see the full schedules here ;https://sports.inquirer.net/530206/schedule-gilas-pilipinas-at-hangzhou-asian-games-basketball

Looks like everyday Gilas will have a game, hopefully fatigue factor will not play a big role.
884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge vs hodlings on: September 22, 2023, 10:56:40 PM
Knowledge is a must. Either you plan to invest or share your experience, at least you have gained some initial knowledge on it. However, the problem with most newbies these days investing in bitcoin is they don’t have the prior knowledge about bitcoin and how it will work as an investment. They only see it as a get rich quick, thus thinking that bitcoin can be easily handle and make profits, but it turn out that it’s very much hard and complicated because of its high volatility. Anyone that decide to hold bitcoin and does not understand it’s market volatility will certainly struggle on how to make it work.
Yes. Obtaining knowledge is really essential before we decide to invest or even trade. That will help us what and when to invest so as to gain maximum profits and avoid from consistent losses. Without knowledge and a good understanding of your investment, expect that it will not be successful like what you've planned.
885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Challenges that can deprive/ delay one from hodli for long. on: September 22, 2023, 09:01:30 PM
And I guess there are also another reason, if you are into gambling. As we all know that gambling is one of the first use case of bitcoin, i.e. that's why we have a lot of crypto online casinos right now and there are a billion dollar business.

With that, maybe some of us here who invest but then again become an addicted gambler might be putting their holdings into crypto gambling and losing their holdings.
If you have great plans for your long term investment, then you should never compromise it and won’t let your gambling addiction ruin it. For me, it all goes down to your own choice and decision making. You can gamble and invest for long term at the same time, but it’s important that you set a budget on gambling and when it’s already used up, just call it a day and just gamble again when you have spare amount of bitcoin.
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling with Cryptocurrency on: September 22, 2023, 03:43:56 PM
I would add one more important thing, which is that you should not gamble with money for which you do not have a valid proof of origin - because I recently read a case where a user won almost $4 million with a deposit of $100k, and now the casino refuses to pay him win because he still hasn't been able to show them where the money he gambled with came from.
With such a substantial amount of money, it's not wise to gamble online with unverified accounts. If there's a legitimate physical casino, it's better to go there or even travel to Las Vegas to gamble. KYC requirements can sometimes be used to exploit gamblers. As they say, casinos love losers but hate winners, especially when large sums of money are involved. I'm sure the gambler was very confident he would be able to withdraw since he deposited $100k, which is a significant amount. However, we don't have control over what a site might do to scam money from gamblers.

Regarding the OP, I always use 2FA. I don't see the need for loss or win limits to be automated; I can manage those manually.
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 22, 2023, 02:40:56 PM
Looking at the pictures of yesterday’s workout with the Warriors, it appears like they are are more concerned with Dwight Howard’s conditioning than his basketball skills. I think this is a good sign that he will be a Warrior next season. Usually during these workouts you see a lot of basketball drills and less conditioning workouts. Unless Dwight did something inappropriate yesterday (entirely possible) I think we’ll see a deal announced soon.
The skills are definitely there; he was a superstar during his prime. But he is aging now, already 37 years old, so he is not the same player anymore. However, if the team knows how to utilize him, he could be a significant factor for the team. His wide body could be very useful for Curry in setting screens, and he can also be physical inside in grabbing rebounds. In addition, CP3 would make him even better, so he better be in peak condition, as he might be the key to the Warriors' success this season.
888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The excitement of the bull run news on: September 21, 2023, 09:49:59 PM
Preparing for a bull run through maximizing your bitcoin investment is a very profitable move. However, we don't hold what will happen in the future just like we can't predict correctly what will happen when bull run comes. History is not enough to expect the same thing that will happen like the previous bull run. So just prepare for it's best or worst, so that when that finally happens, we won't see ourselves in the losing end.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 21, 2023, 03:10:54 PM
Gambling corrupts the mind of young people so we as parents should never let them see us gamble because there is power in emulation, they might think that the money that you sustain are coming from gambling, so they will try it out and see if they can also make money from what you're doing.
Don't let them know that you're into gambling and if they come to the right age let them understand that you're gambling for pure fun not to make money to sustain the needs of the family.

Gambling for minors is very dangerous, they cannot be responsible when gambling, besides that they also do not have a job and a steady income so it will be a serious problem if they gamble. However, if your children are old enough, it is best to educate them about the responsibilities of gambling, explain that gambling is not a way to earn money, and tell them about the dangers of gambling addiction, so that they can really know what gambling is and what the dangers of gambling are.

If they don't have a stable income and yet they are addicted to gambling, the worst thing that could happen is that they will steal money from their parents. As parents, we don't want to see that happen, as those who are not matured and get addicted might face a more serious problem. Therefore, we should ensure that they are prevented from gambling. It all starts at home, as they say; parents are meant to discipline their kids because if they do not, they will become a problem in society. I'm emphasizing this because gambling addiction will not only affect the life of the addicted gambler themselves but also the people around them.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: September 21, 2023, 02:28:32 PM
The thing about fixed bets, apparently they are all of them and to me they don't make sense, //

They only advertise it, but it's actually not true. If it were really fixed, they could make it private so they could fully take advantage of that. Personally, if fixed game information existed and I were really assured of winning 100%, I would sell my house to bet. But it does not exist, so I don't want to get lured into this kind of promise. It's better to just improve our skills or wait for consistent tipsters before placing a bet, but don't trust those who claim to have information about fixed games.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 18, 2023, 03:53:03 PM

Casimero should go for a knockout, his last win against Fillipus Nghitumbwa was not impressive considering that it was held in front of his countryman, and interest in Inoue's fight will heat up again if comes out with an impressive win.

Beating a KO artist with 11 wins, all by KO, before the fight isn't impressive? I think your standards are too high. Casimero won a tough battle, and what's important is that he won via unanimous decision. Perhaps at that time, Fillipus Nghitumbwa was underestimated, but his record indicates he's a volume puncher, and he was undefeated at that time. If a KO comes, that's great, but Casimero's primary goal was to secure the win. Most likely, a KO could happen if Oguni tried to avoid leaving the fight in the hands of the judges.

Casimero vs. Nery could be next; who knows? After that, he might become a mandatory challenger for Inoue. Let's trust the process, one step at a time. When we don't expect too much from Casimero, he may surprise us by delivering a good win.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: September 18, 2023, 02:03:49 PM

Shakur is a top-level which many had turned down fighting him, even Loma and Isaac Cruz but I think DLS can handle him. Though Santos can hurt with just jabs, he hasn't fought someone with skills like Shakur.

De Los Santos is younger with 1 loss, so losing another isn't as frightening as the first for him. He's got his run though but Shakur could stop him from picking up while he is still trying to climb up.
Its too unprofessional for some backer to back-out especially if there’s already a schedule of the fight, well if they are afraid of Shakur then better not to accept the offer in the place this. Anyway, this is still a good replacement and yes De Los Santos can bring a good fight with Shakur, there might be problem with his strategy of fighting, there’s still time to prepare though. Still looking for Shakur here to win the match, he’s really a good fighter.

It's all verbal if I'm not mistaken, when it was announced that a Martin vs Shakur was reach, there is no sign agreement yet, but just say Yes without any contract.
I'm not defending Martin, but there are boxers as well who ducked and for sure it will put a stigma on them, just like what Martin name is right now, synonyms of avoiding or ducking Shakur.

Few boxers nowadays are willing to face opponents as long as they meet the weight requirements. Most of them have become more strategic, understanding that a loss can significantly hinder their future goals. They carefully choose their opponents. In Martin's case, he likely realizes that his chances against Shakur are very slim. He cannot afford to take that gamble, so perhaps he understands that it's not yet the right time. He doesn't want his career to end prematurely.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 18, 2023, 01:43:33 PM
Still PBA related and I've just seen a post about this recently. The Gilas roster has only had 8 active players prior to the Asian games. I thought that everything had been set and again this post I've just seen was from the Basketball Republic Facebook page. Is this what politics can do to our national team? SBP and PSC should take their own actions prior to this tournament and the problem of having few players available. Since we've been invested into our national basketball team, they should give all the support that they can give to it and allow as many players as they can and those who are willing to commit to play for our nation team. But it seems that's not the case and many are avoiding it because of the politics that's happening on it from time to time. After the stint that it has got from its former coach, with the replacement of Tim Cone. Now, this is the problem that has been brought into it and they need to face it. We're optimistic that they'll end well on this Asian games but we've got fewer days for the preparation on it with a few players available.  Huh

Would you mind sharing the eight players left on the Gilas squad kabayan. Last time i've heard was that CJ Perez opted out of the Gilas or he was dispatched by coach Tim Cone as CJ Perez has an issue with regards to defense as we all know that Perez is an offense-minded player which is not to the liking of coach Tim because he wan his squad to be defensive minded in the Asian Games.

I think players are not an issue here because he could get from SMC teams alone if he wants but it would be obvious if Mikey Williams will not be included in the line-up.

He didn't receive many minutes during the FIBA World Cup, but I think that's already an indication that he is really good defensively in a game that is very physical, as we know international games can be. CJ Perez needs to improve his defense; he is still young, and I believe there's plenty of time to develop his skills. I'm glad Pogoy was added because, despite some fans not liking him and calling him 'baldog,' he was very consistent during the World Cup.
894  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Marry a Coin/Project - Practically Example on: September 18, 2023, 10:37:23 AM
This proves that greed will never put you on top of the situation but will only ruin everything you have. If you know the essence of investing, you should know how to sell when there are profits in front of you. Long term hodling is either good or bad. You might be getting the biggest value of your investment or the other way around, you will end up investing for nothing. But for him, he’s a proven example of never marry your coins. Now he’s totally at loss and is surely regretting of his so wrong decision.

If I should be honest, I should say that I’m here in the first place to make decent amount of profits. But I’m not seeing it as quick profits but more on from hard work of mine that may possibly create a positive outcome. That is why I’m really into diligent studying and absorbing all those relevant information that will help me with my future endeavor with bitcoin and other crypto coins that have potentials.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: percentage of your income you dollar cost average in bitcoin on: September 17, 2023, 03:21:06 PM
what portion of your overall income do you keep aside for the purpose of dollar cost averaging in bitcoin,
It doesn't matter if i tell you, neither does it help you, because we probably do not earn the same thing, so decide on the portion to buy through dca based on your income and how frequently that income comes. Dca is a very easy strategy to implement and the investor makes the decisions based on their personal financial situation. There are many topics talking about dca on the forum that you can search and learn from, but what you really need to know is that you should buy without considering the price of BTC, but as for when to buy or how much to buy, it depends on the investor.
Absolutely. We have different sources of income and the total amount we gained from it so if you are considering DCA strategy, then do it with your spare cash that you can easily afford to lose. If you are a big earner in your community, then your allocation for bitcoin might also be higher than those who are earning an average amount. But that does not matter as what only matters most is the consistency of doing your DCA until you reach your desired amount of bitcoin.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto betting on: September 17, 2023, 11:27:18 AM
I have to disagree with you. There are still crypto-casinos where you can freely withdraw without having KYC.
You missed the point here.
First, am talking about crypto casinos. Second, what I meant is that you may spend years playing on a crypto casino and make hundreds or even thousands of deposits/withdrawals without being requested to pass kyc. I experienced this too. However, and this is what I was trying to say, as long as you are using a centralized service and your money is being under their custody, they may ask you to verify your identity any moment they want and there is nothing you can do about it. It doesn't mean it will necessarily happen, but there is still a chance for it to happen and you need to be ready for it.
I hope you got my point.
The fact that they have the right to implement KYC at any given time means that, as gamblers, we should be prepared to comply. Some may say that a gambling site requires KYC because a user is suspected of cheating. However, that is not the case. If you analyze the words 'Know Your Client' policy, you'll see that it's the very first step to take when gambling in a centralized casino, and it's a requirement imposed by regulators. So, whether they choose to implement it or not is entirely at their discretion.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: September 17, 2023, 10:29:41 AM
^ I'm not really sure if this is a good idea to stream the fight for free, it's going to be a double black eye for Eddie Hearn if he do that. He might be paying Haney with big money already so with that, I think he has lost some money already as it's hard to promote Haney because we all know that he doesn't have that charisma to the boxing fans maybe because of his styles.

But if you look at his records, still very young and undefeated and undisputed at 135 lbs, so that is a big accomplished already. But for us boxing fans, we want some real action in the ring and doesn't like boxers who doesn't take risk, just saying.

I don't think that it is his style though, I mean, look at Shakur they are about the same style but the latter doesn't have any problems when it comes with selling a fight. Their only difference is that Haney being a champion, is a boring one and who don't even know how to market a fight successfully so that he can grab more cash money after the fight and not just his promoter alone. But no, he doesn't care about that because he got no passion about marketing a fight at all and if his last fight wasn't against Loma, I highly doubt that they can afford to gain a decent income.

Haney was just fortunate because the time were in favor of him that is why he managed to get those belts in a much easier way, some could argue that but I still think that he got all those four easily and without starting from scratch just to unify all those things on his possession. I mean, he waited for the guys to clash first before he makes his entrance so it'll be hitting two birds in just one stone.

But this time, he doesn't think anymore that his time is still on his side that is why he is making a move towards super-light and fight a champion, Regis. Although, there are still problems because it seems to me that they are still not on the same page that is why the contract is still hanging without any signature.

And even the boxing community is still divided if he really win against Loma to unify the belts. There are arguments that he lost the second half of the fight as Loma started to get into his groove and easily winning rounds. But he won already and he doesn't want to give Loma his rematch, although there could be no rematch clause that's why he is not forced to it.

There are indeed fans who believed he lost, much like some who think Mayweather wasn't undefeated because he lost to Castillo. The judges' decision was final, and if Loma wanted to secure a win, he should have dominated the fight. However, when we compare Loma to Haney, there's no question that Loma has a large fan base due to his boxing style. He isn't as boring as Haney.

But he decided to move up in weight class, avoid another great boxer in Shakur at 135 lbs. But still though, it will not be an easy fight against a power puncher in Regis here, so there's still a big risk for the Haney's here ducking Stevenson at moving up directly to face the champion in Prograis.

Moving up and facing the champion is harder than staying and facing the challenger, as he has to prove himself all over again that he can carry his power. It's a gamble on his part, so let's see if he can continue dominating as he did in the division he left.
899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Calm the pressure on: September 16, 2023, 08:45:01 PM
It's not always too late to invest in bitcoins, if you have ever miss any Bitcoin bull run or you have heard about the bitcoins bull run and you are excited to take actions, my simple advice is, calm the pressure. This advice is driven from the view point of the economy struggles of many, avoid over thinking , work hard to earn money and diversify your investment. Most persons in the crypto space are dying in the inside because they do not have money to invest due to their present circumstance. If you do not have money to invest now, please ease the pressure, you may have more than enough to invest in the future. Calm the pressure my dear friends, don't borrow money, I repeat, don't borrow money to invest on Cryptocurrency, because it is a volatile asset. Life is about risk which you have heard  countless times but it will be unwise to take loan to buy bitcoins.

If you invest being pressured, then most likely you will just mess in the market and ruin your investment. That is because investing in bitcoin needs adequate amount of knowledge and patience, if you can't control your emotions, then that emotions will definitely cause your investment to fail.

Always know when to invest and when not to. Evaluate your financial aspects if you are ready to lose or not really open for it.
900  Economy / Economics / Re: If the global economy collapses what's the first thing you do? on: September 16, 2023, 07:45:13 PM
Honestly if you have BTC congrats !!! We are heading  into a major economic shift and I feel like when the tides are turning like this there should be a conscious effort to land on the right side of that shift!!! Am I right? What should bitcoiners be doing right now to prepare for a potential global economic hardship other than the obvious which is to hodl and accumulate as much as you can...

I mean there was no escape from that if a global economic crisis hit us, all we could do was hope that we had saved enough and invested enough and find other ways or alternatives how where were going to survive it, For sure it is already a good thing that we are investing in cryptocurrency even though we all know that cryptocurrency is a very risky investment it is still better than just saving it on your banks where you doesnt have control and because of inflation, It's better to just save enough money as your savings like probably enough amount that you could use to buy your necessities and then do an emergency funds, insurance, health, retirement, etc. that is important then all of your other money is invested on assets like Bitcoin, real states or passive incomes.

We dont really know since the world is changing quickly so it's better to have multiple incomes while we can still earn a good amount of money so that when the crisis hits us we can easily survive it because we have a lot of assets and income. But I dont really know how Bitcoin is going to react to this kind of thing, we dont know if the price is going to drop or skyrocket so do not invest only in cryptocurrency.
It's certainly an advantage if you already have bitcoin in your wallet. But it would be a lot better if you also have other investments aside from crypto. If I've sufficient funds to invest, I would never settle in a single investment but as much as I can, I will also establish business in the different market industry. That way, if ever one investment fails, the rest might still be generating a decent amount of income.

Bitcoin is a secured and profitable investment. But seeing its high volatility, we should never invest in it all in but only invest on the amount we can afford to lose.
