881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] "Cubits" V2 Re Loaded & Re Launched! (QBT) Sha256D POW on: November 03, 2013, 09:20:04 PM
From what I know, and I may be wrong since it has been some time since the conversation, this was developed by someone who does know what they are doing.

That said... it is entirely possible this was their first attempt at a Sha256d coin.

I do not see a need for a "relaunch" but I would agree that an update to correct the block target so it matches 33 seconds is needed.

To ask for that to be done by the time we reach the block halving is absurd... there is not enough time... that is going to be reached in under 24 hours at this rate of block generation.

Cassie... you should speak up and let everyone know what is going to happen... no one should be forced to forfeit coins at this juncture so a relaunch is not the answer... but a hard fork with a forced update on a hard check point is definitely a must to fix this.
882  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: November 03, 2013, 06:30:54 PM
More testing, I have rotated my Accelero TT II 90 degrees so that the VRMs are exposed instead of hiding behind the heatsink.

Now stable at 31 GH/s... I also took the fan I had blowing over the bottom heatsinks and now have it blowing over the top of the VRMs.

Let me just say... it i obvious this board design is not suited to GPU style coolers if you want anything above the 30GH/s mark. The heatsink of the Accelero TT II is too close to the VRMs. A cooling solution like what Mr Teal implemented the other night is ideal.... get the heat dissipation AS MUCH away from the board as you can and you will love the results.

I will probably be spending the $26 to get the two coolers Mr Teal used recently... will report back on that.

EDIT: Up to 32 GH/s stable.
883  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: November 03, 2013, 04:52:51 PM
Mr Teal,

A few questions, if they have already been answered, I am happy to read the reply if they can be pointed out.

1. Does the Chili respond to the cgminer commands to adjust temp targets... so throttling at 70C can be raised higher?

2. Is there another application or scripts that can be used to monitor the individual engines clock and temps?

3. Was there ever a full detail of the board layout posted... like what everything on the board is and can do, what connectors can handle and are meant for?

4. Is there an API or w/e that will be usable in the future for something like an app that can be a "Chili Monitor" to show all the live details of the board?

Thanks for all your hard work!

I think there is an issue here with difficulty calc and block target in relation to halving expectations... we are 83% of the way to the first halving (block 78500) and its only been 7 days... plus I have been watching as I solo... and diff swings wildly at times... from where it feels correct in the upper 400s to mid 600s for the GH/s on the pool, myself and estimation of others, to dropping below 100 causing tons of orphans and my client saying I went on a solving spree (at one point my immature was in the 4K range).

In just the last 12 hours of mining solo... I solved 150K QBT worth of blocks. 12 hours at 33 second block target should have only yielded about 196K total QBT to everyone who solved in that time period... no way my 30 GH/s racked up 75% of the blocks... ill bet at least 1 million QBT generated in the last 12 hours...

... something is off...

EDIT: 2:10 PM EST

I updated my CGWatcher and set an ASIC profile for QBT and have been collecting data for the last hour.

AVG time for blocks is around 6 seconds

AVG find for me is every 56 seconds

Watched diff skyrocket to over 1.5K then sink back into the 600s before starting to rise to 900s right now. Pool is showing 150 GH/s and I am averaging 31 GH/s solo.
885  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: November 03, 2013, 03:37:35 PM
Here are two more pics of my chili

TIMs (those white spacers were just a little too tall so they are not there anymore... they felt solid and prevented the boughing issue but would not allow full force contact when I fired it up.

Back Heatsinks (I also have an 80mm fam blowing over the heatsinks and i run the whole thing standing up on the coollers lond side rather than letting it lie flat on stands

At first I was able to get just below 30 GH/s and I let it burn in over night... steady at 29+ all night. I tried to tweak it slowly adding more force via slowly tightening the screws round robin but I only ended up making it worse. I got a temp warning and shut off mining... backed the screws off and tested... repeated, even disassembled, reseated the cooler, got the screws tightened in unison and slowly tweaked them while watching for boughing... and was able to bring it back to near 30 GH/s with no warnings.

Man, I need a solution like what Teal made but sans a second cooler... like a heatsink with screw holes that fit the chili's closest mounting holes.

Updated and synced... all is well.

A new beginning for HBN... hopefully ppl are paying attention and we will not have many lagging.

For me... the mega page never loads... just a cloud and spinning gear.

Used the link from the main site... copy pasted link from here... all do the same... no DL just basic mega page.

EDIT finally got it but Mega was still troublesome... think it is on their end...

At last, what's curent hashrate of Cubits network?

You can only calc a rough estimate based on difficulty since the client has no nethashrate call.

need to fix the cash out  in the pool..
cannot use the paste address option

Huh

Paste as in you cannot paste your address into the field?

I just did this myself and got paid so... lost?

You could also add the pool IP  also: 84.200.84.74

I will see about getting a Cubits explorer up later tonight, I was hoping it could wait till the next version of CCE3 was ready, however I have been putting out so many fires lately the new version will be delayed.

I will get a daemon running at the test server address within the hour.  IP= 84.200.84.93

FYI: I am not the developer of this coin, but I will try my best to help.

TY Dream... always good to mine where you are involved!

Some notes... LOTS of rejects on the pool... and my cgminer notes 0 (zero) difficulty on the pool though the front end says my worker is diff 2.

Otherwise, love the theme and layout... top notch!

I have yet to apply the coin theme to the pool.

The rejects puzzle me. I am running three rigs with a combined hash rate of around 5.5 GH/s and my reject rate is pretty normal. (About 1%)

Yet the pool is showing massive rejects. I may take the pool down for a bit tonight and install a different back-end and see if that makes a difference.

This is the default theme? DUDE... its nice for out of the box...

I show the rejects correctly on both sides... about 25% roughly in cgminer figures and over 20% on the pool... same version and command I use for other coins and pools and all is well below 1% like you noted... so something is off.

Good luck finding it... hope it isnt a toughie!

Thx!

What?!? I was not watching and you launched this?

What happened to WGN (lol you know!)

Anyways... client WILL NOT catch any peers even with that addnode...

anyone got a few peers I can add?

Is stake disabled in this version?

I did not run the command to reserve any and I have not staked in quite some time...

I nailed a solution good enough to solve a block 10 seconds after changing over solo... but I was not on the new client... insta rejected ouch!

Above is where my client says we are at now.

EDIT: That is discouraging... solved another this time with a VERY high difficulty rating, and it was also rejected... on the newest client...
899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: November 01, 2013, 02:59:41 PM
There are thermal adhesives.

Good stuff:  http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_silver_thermal_adhesive.htm

It is likely the heatsinks came with thermal adhesive not thermal paste.

Exactly... the tube that came with my Arctic Accelero Twin turbo II is listed as Thermal Adhesive and is referred to as "glue" in the paperwork demonstrating how to use all the heatsinks for RAM and VRMs (the picture saying use pliers to get ALL the glue out of the tube lol).

I have not even fired this up yet... sadly my TIM is still in USPS and has not arrived yet.

Are you going to use the glue that came with the heatsinks?

Yes I was planning on using the included glue.

Mr Teal... any advice on the placement of the heatsinks in my pics above?

Also will the glue itself be ok for use on the bottom... I do not want to short anything...
