881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: April 03, 2024, 04:56:08 PM
Even if all of those are huge factors that make someone to move towards addiction, most likely the very first mistake they commit are the false expectations they have out of gambling.
Gambling is a game of chance and is at best a type of entertainment. But the false image of gambling inside the brain of many common people is that it can be used to make loads of money. This is similar to stereotypes and hence needs to be broken and the reality put in front of these people.

However it is tough to stop such people when they addicted over time even if they might actually realize that they are having losses more than they win, it is too late.

They will deposit more and more and lose more, eventually ending up in debt and putting their entire family at risk. But this can be prevented very early.
882  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHO DOES CRYPTO DAY TRADING? on: April 02, 2024, 03:02:02 PM
Crypto day Trading is definitely good sometimes,
More often it is not when it comes to day trading. Cheesy

Quote
but you have to be very careful on it even when you seek opinions from orders because it may not work for you as you think If you will go into crypto trading, I would advise you to take your time and study it yourself, because I don’t see much profit in crypto trading daily because of the much risk In it
Opinions vary, one might work, another might not. Because we are not the ones who can see the future and hence we have to place predictions based on our own experience. But the general advice remains same, day trade if you can take that stress or go for long term holding if you have that level of patience and time.

Quote
you may decide to pull out your money from the market and that is when coin will Pomp so is better you stick to the pattern you are already using that we best advice I would tell you because it is a risk.
You mean "pump"? Roll Eyes
That is the consequence of not being able to hold the money on the market. Nobody can predict when the high or low is happening but buying and selling if not done at the proper price timing, leads to losses invariably.
883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: April 02, 2024, 02:57:59 PM
It seems you think trading can help you achieve that goal. Well there is possibilty but i dont think the time frame you gave is not enough to achieve it. Maybe you should decrease the goal to 50k then i can tell you what can be possible.
People should adopt a flexible time-frame instead of a fixed one. This also shows that people like the OP may actually be under debt having taken a loan to trade and is now trying to double the money. That itself is a big stress factor that can lead to the entire endeavor going south.

Quote
If you are into trading just know that there will be losing and winning but if you want to avoid this, ill advise you to invest your money in btc. Them wait till the end of the year. So much will happen by then and you will be a beneficial.
Indeed buying bitcoin at the low price and then holding on to that till it crosses all time high is a good option. But for this to be executed, you cant determine and fix a time frame, you have to flexible. Right now BTC is crashing after a bull run, you have to wait when to you, if you dont give yourself that time, you will not make money from trading but only end up paying some loan sharks.
884  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 02, 2024, 02:53:20 PM
I doubt that beginners, before starting to gamble, will ask anyone for advice on how dangerous it is or how profitable it is. Nobody even wants to know about it, and then everyone gets experience and finds out that it is impossible to beat the casino. And even if someone collects enough information before playing to know their chances of winning, there will be those who want to check everything from their own experience.
People gamble to quench their thirst of making money, eventually they lose more and the by product is that they are addicted to gambling. With bitcoin the access to gambling and more so online gambling has been easy and thus potential gamblers are coming up to addicted gambling much earlier than expected.

Of course it is dangerous, but the enthusiasm to make money is often high and that clouds their reasoning. Added to this is some influencer who is spamming their referral link with promises of free money, those people are like the wolves who lead the lambs to death.

We can only make people aware of the good and bad of gambling and nothing more than that. It is not our job to correct their mistakes.
885  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why most of Exchanges FAIL ? on: April 01, 2024, 04:18:22 PM
Be smart and keep your assets SAFE always use a Cold Wallet Your Keys Your Coins
Which is the only single take home message from this community but members have been saying this over and over again but the few people in the forum do not contribute much to the vast number of users attending these exchanges daily.

Hence whenever such shutdowns or scams happen, a large chunk of money from these users will be lost in limbo for the time being.

Quote
Does this concern you ?
If you are regularly using an exchange then it would. But crypto is the wild west and these risks are common here unless something big happens or we see some regulation come in.
886  Economy / Economics / Re: Leadership and Economics on: April 01, 2024, 04:11:38 PM
We in the third world can attest to to fact that the underdevelopment of Africa can be traced to the kind of leaders we have had so far
Africa has huge potential of growth but its leaders and how its governments work, has only led its people to the worse. But situations are similar in most countries as well just the extent might differ.

Quote
Leaders are those who lead and other follow so if you have a blind man as a leader, then your sure to fall into the pit
That is why we have elections to decide which among all the possible leaders do the public want as a majority? But that is a topic for another debate. I am of the opinion that the country can do what it wants with its politics and all but leaving those aside, our own personal growth is what we should focus on.

Like buying bitcoin at the proper time, keeping education ongoing, learning new skills to put to the test. Forget the government, develop your own self.
887  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: April 01, 2024, 04:06:54 PM
But unfortunately some people think experience is not important because they think they are smart enough and know what to do.
Experience will only teach you one truth - do not gamble if you want to make money and not waste it.

That if followed immediately corrects the question in the OP, if someone learns from gambling that it can lead to serious debts and bankruptcy issues, they would not gamble in the first place or stop it as soon as possible.

However most are unable to reach the conclusion and they ignore it and continue to play, endangering the lives of their close ones and next of kin. Most debt collectors in todays world are not that brutal but they try to persuade people and that can be scary. From a lenders point of view, such debt should be passed on to next of kin once they are old enough.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Support, do not criticize. on: April 01, 2024, 04:03:26 PM
Yes, the addict needs to have awareness that he is addicted and needs helps from other people. The family must helps the addicted to cures his addiction so the process can works properly for the addicts.
The addict often denies the addiction but eventually it catches up to them and they realize that they have been trying to hide it for too long. It is how addiction and guilt works. But then the addict does not have any other place to go to unless their family supports them to come out of it. In the long run the cure is possible if the family works to help the family member in their journey.

The money of course is never coming back, so some criticism is normal from members and friends. That should motivate the person to make up the money.

890  Economy / Economics / Re: Reckless financial decision ? on: March 31, 2024, 05:51:22 AM
If they are not considered early on, the consequences will be negative in the long run.
A musician refusing a deal is nothing out of the blue, these things happen every few days and with the record labels and their predation on the music industry, we are bound to see these things happen but not every one of them makes the headlines out there.

You never know the full story - there are many under the table deals being done in the music industry it is one of the most corrupt things in this world behind all the glitz and glam.

Reckless or not, they will end up dealing with another label.

Best wishes to @seoincorporation in starting their line of casino software. Smiley

That hardware casino seems to be a nice touch there in which pub owners and small coffee shop owners might get interested and install them in their shops. Something like old arcade games << another idea which you might want to put in while designing the next game?

Will be watching the thread to see how things pick up from here.

Suggestion to reduce the images size because reading them even on a PC seems to sore the eyes.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: March 31, 2024, 05:34:45 AM
This doesn't mean casinos never lose.
It based on the fact that cumulative losses are way smaller than the cumulative wins from the casinos side and vice versa for the players side.

Thus the casino is always in a net profit - that is it is running smoothly and paying its employees and investors regularly. This shows one truth that is the casino will always be profitable and if you are the casino then you are the winner in the long run. With my experience in the industry, I feel that in order to make money from the casino be a part of it, dont play in it, unless you completely own it of course. Grin
893  Other / Meta / Re: Provision for increasing available merit every year by some amount on: March 31, 2024, 05:28:13 AM
I'm not going to prove anything, so although I don't know where all these distributed merits end up, I haven't received a single one for some time - which leads me to the conclusion that I don't write "good posts" or that most MS ignore me Roll Eyes
Have felt that too many times Grin

Of course we are not a judge of our own actions so we cant say whether our own posts are merit worthy or not. And not everyone here myself included come from a programming or technological background that we can post in those sections of the forum where merit is generously given to tech helpers and shiny coin collectors.
But then I managed to rank up to Leg from Hero since the system started but my mileage has reduced over the years now.

I know we can go back to the old argument that some sections of the forum have more Noise than Signal and thus sources avoid them. But then is there any solution to this?
894  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is social trading in crypto? Do you EVEN use them? on: March 30, 2024, 10:54:58 AM
Successful investors don't make a great teacher and to be honest I had seen lot of influencers who were financially successful selling their courses for certain prices but the one who subscribed to it learn very basic or nothing at all, I didn't know its different with certain traders but generally its preferable to learn on our own that will teach us more than others teaching stuffs.
They are mostly shilling, they are not "successful investors" because such people dont share their secrets, but sell what companies give to them to sell. Eventually this becomes a shilling game where you are paid to promote a coin and you dont care about what your followers are paying for.

I always suggest people to trade solo, because trading is such a thing that your profit is another person's loss, if you are not being secretive about this you will be at the disadvantage.

So dont be followed by someone on the internet, remember that it takes nothing to speak bullshit on internet, this is a free world.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: March 30, 2024, 10:51:28 AM
Indeed, for those who are able to control their finances when gambling, this will only a waste of time. However, it's a good idea for those who can't gamble for fun, to keep track of their gambling activities so they can control their limits.
I would agree but in reality it is rather the opposite. Those who are having an obsession about their total wins and actually wins a lot might keep a spreadsheet of balances but one who gambles like anything without any tracking of their bankroll avoids doing all this stuff. The second group actually needs to do this but they dont care much till they end up in a loss.

Indeed professional players might be doing this, but the more you do it the less you are inclined to gamble because you feel the remorse of having spent that much money which you would have used for something better.
896  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think if Bitcointalk accepted videos? on: March 29, 2024, 02:59:23 PM
The main thing to ask yourself is Why do you need this feature and what use will it do above all that is already available?

Tutorials and informative videos, there are loads available on the internet. Of course you can suggest an "Official" bitcointalk-community driven video set for newbies who seek information.

In my opinion, uploading such "Series" should be on video hosting sites like Youtube or so. Images already on this forum ends up being an eyesore (no offense to anybody).
897  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Wait for the right set-up on: March 29, 2024, 02:55:40 PM
Losing your money in one trade seems more in the lines of margin trading or all that non-spot trading. In spot you at least have the opposite asset at hand to sell, even though its price may depreciate. Of course in spot trading we need to be careful when you are buying or selling which is the crux of this concept. If you buy at the wrong level you will have to hold that till the crossing over occurs so you can break even and then further in order to profit. You will be paying for your mistake with time.

With dummy trading and watching the older charts, one can get an idea about this. However trading is not for everyone and if this does not seem to work out, dont trade anymore.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: March 29, 2024, 02:50:56 PM
I think Patience is not only required in Gambling to succeed but they are a very important part of life if you have patience you will be successful in life. Patience is the key to success the more you have patience more you have chances to succeed in life.
Patience is important in life but it is NOT help you in gambling. Because gambling is based on chance be it EV- or EV+ there is no change if you are patient or not. On the other hand trading requires patience and it can help there.

In most aspects of life patience has a positive role but I doubt its role in gambling however you try to bend the truth, the money gambled is considered lost, no matter how patient you are.

So learn to be patient but dont expect that to help your gambling, rather it can help in stopping your gambling habit.
899  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: March 28, 2024, 04:23:36 PM
However in investment we should make good decission to avoid lose
Investments will incur losses, without that it is never an investment at all. Grin

Of course the point of savings is to provide funds in case of emergency. You might be able to milk that Bank's fixed deposit rate but it will not lead to huge returns. On the contrary investment carry a higher risk:reward ratio and they might be able to give you higher profits depending on the type of asset.

Hence we need both of these to be able to sustain a proper future.
900  Economy / Economics / Re: The benefits of risk taking on: March 28, 2024, 04:19:41 PM
It is all about risk appetite, a term that denotes how much risk you can sustain without getting bankrupt, in layman terms.

If you are having a low risk appetite then crossing that you are putting yourself in harm. Like for example, a person who earns 100$ in a month should not gamble with 80$ on a casino or buy a shitcoin worth of 80$.

A step not taken is always a loss, but there needs to be subtlety regarding these statements.
