Definitely! It depends on the reason why it goes down. The possibility that cryptocurrency will shutdown is only when internet would should down which is highly unlikely. Maybe the reason would be that the government will ban it all over the world so the only way to have it is by illegal means so people would just let go of their coins because we don't want to be punished and be jailed because of using it but this is not likely to happen as well. If ever bitcoin only goes down because another cryptocurrency has been able to have more supporters than bitcoin then other cryptocurrency would not be worthless.

Our government know about bitcoin but do not have regulations implemented yet but they are thinking of regulating it according to some news circulating in our country today. They already grant a license to a local exchange though in buying and selling bitcoin so we can freely buy and sell the coin using our fiat money but it is exclusive for bitcoin and I am hoping they will add other coins as well like Ethereum and Litecoin because transaction fee in bitcoin is high compared to other two.

CryptoKitties, an online game and marketplace featuring virtual kittens, has become an entry point for curious outsiders looking to dabble in cryptocurrencies - decentralized digital monies that rely on blockchain technology to enable peer-to-peer transactions.

Company reps say their main goal is to teach people how to use blockchains; open, distributed ledgers of cryptocurrency transactions. Bitcoin is the most famous cryptocurrency and blockchain protocol, but there are others.

“As part of launching this project, we were really trying to educate people who haven’t perhaps bought Ethereum before, people who aren’t in the crypto space.” said Elsa Wilk, marketing director at AxiomZen, the Canadian tech consultancy that created CryptoKitties.

That may have been the initial idea. But marry cute kittens and a buzzy, emerging tech phenomenon and kitten chaos ensued.

CryptoKitties’ cheerful, user-friendly interface has caused its popularity to surge among blockchain products and services. To date, there have been over $16 million USD in transactions resulting from the purchase, breeding and sale of digital kittens.

“Using something like cats is a very unintimidating, friendly, cuddly way to be introduced to a very hard, technical subject like the blockchain,” said Wilk. “We really took the approach of making the blockchain more approachable.”

How it works

CryptoKitties is built on the Ethereum blockchain. Purchases are made using the Ether cryptocurrency, which can be purchased with real money through a digital currency exchange like Coinbase. To begin buying and selling CryptoKitties, users first set up a digital wallet with MetaMask, an Ether wallet and browser for applications built on the Ethereum blockchain.

Kittens cost anywhere from .004 ether (about $3 USD) to upwards of 100,000 ether (a whopping $79.3 million USD). Wilk said the objective of the game is to make more kitties, but one of the company’s ultimate goals was to test whether a blockchain platform could support the buying and trading of unique, digital cats – what Wilk calls “crypto collectibles.”

At launch, the company released about 250 “Gen Zero” kittens, that is, those with no “parents.” Thereafter, a new kitten is released every 15 minutes. According to Wilk, the number of original kittens that will ever be released is approximately 50,000.

Each of us is entitled to our own opinion so if that is yours then I respect it. There are many kind of traders depending on what they prefer and there are many who prefer day trading and there are others who want to hold on for long to their coins. I think most of professional traders day trade because it is their playing field and they just know and feel the market. Many of them are margin trading so just a little movement can be very profitable. Margin trading is not recommended for the newbies that's why holding is the preferable way and it doesn't involve that much pressure when you are holding than actively trading daily.

There are many coins that are not yet listed in big exchanges and you can check them in coinmarketcap.com.

My strategy to check the coins because it is hard for them to filter in the altcoin section is in the recently added section in coinmarketcap.

Even though you weren't able to get in when bitcoin is at $2,000, you can still buy it now if you intend to hold it for the long term. Bitcoin would continue to increase as long as there would be no major event that would make its price go down and would make people not to buy it. You are not required to purchase a whole bitcoin because it is divisible by satoshis so you can just buy a portion of it and then store in your wallet for maybe years. You can also buy bitcoin as a gateway for you to buy other altcoins that has still potential to increase in value.

If you didn't receive any message telling you that your post has been deleted then the whole thread has been deleted so along with it is your post that would make your post and activity be deducted. There are threads that the moderators are deleting because the thread is full of spam post and maybe the topic is just repetitive so there is no need for another topic.

If you want to avoid your post being deleted then you should post in a topic that has the possibility of not being deleted and make a quality post. If you see a topic that has 100+ pages of reply but the answers are just redundant then there is a high possibility for the thread to be deleted later on so avoid posting in spam mega threads.

I just check your account and it seems that you are always creating a new topic instead of replying in one so there is a high possibility that the topic you created is just redundant of others so the moderator would just delete the topic. Avoid creating a new topic if it has already been tackled. If you want to talk about something then find the particular topic and then reply and if there is none then that's the time you create a new topic.

My parents would not agree to it too if I am underage because they don't want to be involved in something that they do not understand. Using their names in registering to exchanges would not be favorable. The easier way though is to find someone near you that you can buy bitcoin from so that there are no documents required. If they can't find anyone near them to sell them bitcoin then they can try to earn it in this forum. It may take sometime for them to earn significant amount but it is better than nothing.

I would measure my profit in bitcoin because even though you are up in dollar but down in bitcoin you are still at a loss because you would have more dollar if you are just holding bitcoin.

Take for example this one. You have one bitcoin with a value of $10,000 and then invested half of it in altcoin. After sometime, bitcoin would go up and as a result, some altcoin would go down. Lets say if you convert your altcoin to bitcoin then it would have a value of 0.30btc + 0.50 btc so you have a total of 0.80btc. The dollar value of bitcoin would be $15,000 per coin so $15,000*0.80btc= $12,000. If you didn't invest in altcoin then you should have $15,000 but you only have $12,000 so you have a loss of $3,000.

Welcome to both of you manospan and Ringtoo! Cryptocurrency is a new world that's why we really need to research and being up to date to what is happening currently in the cryptoworld. Good for you Ringtoo because you are already doing a lot of research and I can say that in this forum alone, you can find so many information that sometimes you don't need to go anywhere else because this forum is already jam packed will all the information and the members in here have something to contribute. All you just need is to ask if you can't find the information anywhere else.

As for manospan, you should follow what Ringtoo is doing because more often than not when you ask the people what coin should you invest in, they would suggest a coin that they already bought so that price would go up. Invest only what you can afford to lose because cryptocurrency is highly speculative. For a start, bitcoin would be the best choice.
