881  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: November 01, 2020, 07:26:31 PM
When it comes to food price in the pandemic, I will always blame it on incompetent government, there should be policies with Agriculture that should provide a sustainable food production in any country. If UK can control the supply and price of food with such a low food production system with high food importation. At least every country should have a 5 year plan for food storage and distribution, countries like USA, Germany, Holland etc wont have problem with food in this pandemic.
882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Defi project like game pump and dump on: October 31, 2020, 10:16:39 PM
I just want to believe it is just market correction but the hacks and scam is so alarming, however I still see more Defi project still getting on the space and get a good crowdfunding. maybe decentralized exchanges may not the important factor for Defi, I also think centralized exchanges can improve the service to favour Defi in the market. Security, teams trust and better management of pool will help the Defi
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 fastest crypto coins on: October 30, 2020, 09:16:05 PM
Ethereum shouldn't be in any list of fast transaction coins. In fact, it's becoming slower in speed and higher in fee. Other coins in this list are also outdated. In terms of speed, there are a lot of faster coins than this list, such as EOS, XRP or ADA. Even a shitcoin like TRON also has an impressive speed.
I like Tron for his low cost of transaction not for the speed, the speed of ethereum is subjective and transaction fee plays a big role on the speed, the higher the transaction fee the faster the speed, high number of confirmation. Have never been interested in EOS, XRP and ADA, I also feel the current state of market imay not be rewarding for those old coins. Monero, Zcash, Komodo need the speed of transaction to protect the identity of the user.
884  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout. {Current topic: #EndSARs} on: October 29, 2020, 04:27:33 PM
I am more worried now, will the lives of those killed at tollgate just be in vain? I suspect the government trying to restore normalcy. Although the youth might need too take the bull by the horn but we might need help from some elders in politics. The recent outburst reveal the extent of dirt in our politics, how to tame the hooligans, seek support from military, protect ourselves and control tribalism among the youth.
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toyota IT Division to Launch Own Digital Currency on: October 29, 2020, 04:18:45 PM
When I see well known institution proposing a new Coin, I want to be careful with it. Hyundai came with a coin (HDAC) we later detected it was from the son of the company owner, the coin has so far not attain the ICO price in the market with terrible tokenomics. They understand what their  Identity can fetch them to make huge fund from the crowdsale. It is very important to understand the use case and possible of being successful, they are likely to attract a large community but for how long, why cant they start with the known coin like the bitcoin and ethereum to generate the use case.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB Holders - What do you do with your BNB? on: October 29, 2020, 04:02:25 PM
For those who have more than 500 bnb, this is a chance to participate in the lottery, also in various types of farming at the lunchpools of the same binance, and of course, binance smart chain is actively developing now. Its a pleasure to use bsc at the moment, because the commissions are negligible compared to the ether network
Staking most time focuses on whales, to control the volume traded and generate scarcity. BNB has many use cases as trading pair, transaction fee, IEO investment, salary for binance workers, staking and sometimes to purchase goods and services etc. all this can sustain high trade and pump the price. Everyone can benefit from the staking in the long term when the price improves, ATM no better exchange than binance

887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Game lover ? Have you invested for a gaming project ?? on: October 28, 2020, 09:09:00 PM
In my opinion there are too many projects that combine games and blockchain, and only a few have managed to survive in the market, and most projects like this initially look convincing but end with disappointment.
have been feeling the same with the hype on blockchain games especially with NFTs. The use case is a very interesting one that fund can always backup anywhere and addiction with game is very interesting exploit for the idea. Binance raised few IEOs with gaming used case and had dumped so hard with the size of community, supports and development in recent months. If those coins make any pump with the hype around NFTs, It will indicate the crazy effect of manipulation in this market.
888  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why would anyone pay for Covid testing? on: October 28, 2020, 08:31:48 PM
Seeing some countries make provision for free testing, it makes paying from other countries irresponsible for there leaders, however the testing is costly and most citizens cant afford it. More attention is shifting from testing to prevention and curing. The chance of been 100% protected is reducing with the rate of spread especially for a virus that can be active on surface for over 72 hours, everyone maybe more vulnerable. So more funding is in the prevention, curing and Vaccines.
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB Holders - What do you do with your BNB? on: October 27, 2020, 07:31:57 AM
my interest is still growing with projects that continue with development, partnership and marketing. Binance have had more burning than many more coin with little price growth, now more IEO are coming in with BNB purchase, more DEFI coin listed to engage BNB transaction fee. BNB is still one of the undervalued coin on the top 50 coin on CMC, I expect a $500 price peak after the bull market and will continue to remain a force in cryptocurrency space.
890  Other / Archival / Re: DeFi hyip is over? on: October 27, 2020, 07:25:00 AM
As the old Defis die, the new Defies born, some new Defi like Easyfi has been 10X by now, depends on which exchange adds them and how new they are , money likes to go to new coins which are in big exchanges like Binance!
I dont want to loss interest in Defi because have not had my share of the money in it but I also expect some changes with the security. The trend of hack and loss of money is high which could reduce the interest in investment but If changes could be made to secure fund and perhaps engage CEX instead of DEX they could improve interest again. I dont believe teams are innocent of those hacks and that could also require a step of confidence from teams.
891  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is better than Holding on: October 26, 2020, 07:40:29 AM
Trading will depend on the size of investment and coin of investment. A 5 million dollar investors may or cant be an active trade, 3-5x is a good ROI for such and I believe staying on Ethereum and Bitcoin can provide this as a longterm investor (3-5 years). Most project cant handle a real daily trade of over $5million. Most of these investors will give the average cost of sale to traders and time to cover the trade to prevent massive dump in price

893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most popular altcoins on Bitcointalk. Kind of. Probably not really. on: October 26, 2020, 07:20:46 AM
Using overall posts might be unreliable for rating popularity on bitcointalk. Bitcointalk was a very active forum for most projects that started in 2015-2017 when therewas little hype for telegram. It is believed that Telegram has more influence on cryptocurrency but have not seen CZ binance active on binance telegram, neither Vitalik and many more in other relevant groups. It is discouraging how most of the influencers are distancing from the community after raising fund and are difficult to question for their decisions .
894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking Bitcoin is Scam on: October 24, 2020, 10:06:40 AM
No, it's not a scam. You can see people everywhere talking about it, so this isn't a scam. Many individuals have invested in bitcoin in the past and are still investing to earn profits here. It is a physically free digital currency and you can make a direct transaction without any government or bank control with the other bitcoin user.
You might be disappointed that most people calling bitcoin scam have huge investment in cryptocurrency, no one can tell me bitcoin is a scam after my experience with it. At the moment while Jack Dorsey(as a top technology billionaire) showed his investment in it, Paypal's adoption and many institutional investment. This can convince more investments and adoptions.
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: October 24, 2020, 09:51:54 AM
Most of new comers fall victim to obvious scam. As they new in crypto market, they don't know about more currency except bitcoin, ether! They heard that bitcoin increase 1cent to 20000$, eth increase 1cent to 1200$, so they want to buy crypto & earn easy money. But they don't know analysis & can't choice the perfect project.that's why scammers targeted them & scam their money
absolutely agree. Newcomers believe they are lucky and this particular project will bring crazy money. Explore projects with a cool head.
Newbie might be higher numbers of victim with social media scam but human has a level of capacity for greed, we just need to control. I know people who will always be skeptical to some ridiculous size of reward, so it is expected to be researched and make other inquiries. I believe if most victims can access this forum and make inquiry early they could be saved but they FOMO in any cryptocurrency related freebies. Everything is not free here and the last 3 years had proved it
896  Economy / Economics / Re: Lend at Hodl Hodl: True P2P Bitcoin lending is here on: October 23, 2020, 08:35:05 PM
asides the collateral what is the interest rate of the lend? If there are provisions similar to Defi, state them and other factor why it could be preferable to ethereum. Most defi project might have to provide enough information to prove that stake fund will be safe and there wont be exit scam whatsoever from the team. The other challenge is the transaction fee and speed of transaction
897  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout. {Current topic: #EndSARs} on: October 23, 2020, 07:40:08 PM
@charles-tim those are the among multitasking challenges Nigeria face, a country you don't get water, light, security, jobs from the government citizen has to get other ways/alt to get those essentials, and if by any chance -especially when elections are close- a government give low budget essentials they want the citizen to see it as a favour and not their duty.
Nigerian youth has chosen to stand against bad government and as we do that there is no compromising,
+cyber crime
+looting
+robbery
+cultism
+drug -abuse/peddling
And more are against what we fight for, if there is going to be a new nigeria we should Call every spadea spade.
We now get greater problems to solve. Politics has taken over everything in the system and one will be scared of the deteriorating state of the system by the government. The diversity remains challenging and the northern part of the country dont see it the way we see it, they consider the agitation as a treason and justify the ungodly massacre at the Tollgate. The southerners know better that their leaders dont care about them at all, the revelation of the hidden palliative and neglect to the order of the killing speak more
898  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is new occupation on: October 22, 2020, 03:56:17 PM
Some mentioned Buffet trading strategy, but stock is different from cryptocurrency in few aspect although I consider the 4-5 year cycle and halving an advantage. For any trader who wants to solely rely on the space he must have access to enough fiat, some for trade and some for daily upkeep. Most longterm traders a large fiat holders and can solely trade cryptocurrency, They also take huge profit in the bull that keep them through the bear.
899  Other / Archival / Re: Why you should not use Paypal for Bitcoin on: October 22, 2020, 03:46:53 PM
The news might provide more trust and known used case for cryptocurrency around the world but the alternative in such market cant be justified. For a volatile coin, it will remain a challenge for valuation. It is also another means to provide identity to wallet users, pay taxes to other countries and accrue cryptocurrency for the country in a bullish market. Why the development now since 2018?
900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Better using DAI or USDT? on: October 21, 2020, 09:55:42 PM
Except for investment purpose and profit I wont choose new coin with same use over old coins. Trust still matters in the space and Tether has enough to defend its position in this market. Even BUSD cant over-ride Tether in this market, asides the liquidity and volume, it has the largest deperse as stable coin on exchanges in this space.
