8801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Can’t Cryptocurrencies Replace FIAT? on: July 21, 2017, 08:11:41 AM
If FIAT Replaced the Gold Standard, Why Can’t Cryptocurrencies Replace FIAT?

History has shown that we have moved from the barter system to the gold standard and then to FIAT.  Is Cyptocuurency the next standard?

Have a look at my post, feedback appreciated, but please don't be too harsh.  I don't claim to be an economist or expert in this area.

https://urbancrypto.com/if-fiat-replaced-the-gold-standard-why-cant-cryptocurrencies-replace-fiat/

Nice article! Yes, cryptocurrencies will obsolete fiat much the same way the automobile obsoleted the horse and buggy. It's simply better money.
I am for cryptocurrencies in general and a year ago I thought that this is where the world is moving, this is how things will get done in the future. I think we all remember discussions about times when one could buy a cup of coffee or some goods in the supermarket and pay via bitcoin. Now nobody says such things because it is obviously impossible. Perhaps the currency which has chances to become new fiat is dogecoin, because it is cheap, safe and fast. But even a good currency can't become a part of everyday life yet. As the main point of currencies is decentralization, owners of online wallets, trade websites and markets are unknown. This leads the to temptation to steal of the money and disappear. Sometimes they get caught but mostly they aren't. I think that cryptos can replace fiat only by losing anonymity at least in important cases like with website owners. And they have to be regulated by laws so that owners of markets where people lost money really take full responsibility for that.
8802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum Trading also stop on August 1? on: July 21, 2017, 08:01:51 AM
probably not. Because eth will not be affected of it. Even now the price of eth is rising today.

Yes, I agree on that matter. Bitcoin will be in danger but ethereum is a different and independent platform, so I think it will live its own life. If btc succeeds, eth will just go on the way it does now. If btc gets hurt (hard fork situation) then ethereum will grow in price, because people will sell their btc to buy second best thing which is ethereum. But then again, who knows, maybe people will make the failure of btc the end of cryptocurrencies.
8803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regrets in cryptocurrency? on: July 21, 2017, 07:46:53 AM
I haven't had any regrets in crypto so far but I heard this is a dangerous place. Many hacks and scams happening daily. I am trying to keep my mind on the bright side and a lot of good things have been happening. This can be a good place. Try to stick around the good projects and people. You will meet many Smiley
You've mentioned hacks.. I guess this is what I hate most of all in all this coins-related stuff. If fiat is stolen, people usually have something from which they can start digging in and they finally solve the case. With currencies it is all based on trust and often people use this trust to get rich. They already are rich, because they hold huge websites with lots of money from which they get some stake. Greed doesn't let them stop there and they make people who are not so rich at all lose their money. That's what I regret most.
8804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coindash website hacked, scammers already have 43k ETH on: July 21, 2017, 07:35:02 AM
iam not believe if coindash hack, and 43k balance lost
i think only manipulation and trick to run money

if true hack, dev is not compatible not experience to safe capital money investor
yeah might be a excuse to run the money off but we are not sure if its the devs are behind this hack there is a chance devs are behind this hack , if its not then the devs are terrible at securing the wallet and storing them at the safe place
Unfortunately, I guess there are more and more of such cases. I read their official letter to users. I think they are not really planning to reimburse the money. At least, definitely not all of it. This is the second time a lot of eth gets stolen. The first was with ethereum-wallet.net and in that case we got 40% of money and that's it. People suspect the owners there as well. I am starting to hate this coin.
8805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Telegram made for pumps on: July 19, 2017, 07:55:57 PM
I think what these guys are doing is wrong and dangerous. They invest in a coin to make the price grow, then wait for others to buy this coin and sell everything, right? They make people lose their money. They can make you lose yours as well if you are with them. Beware of such things. Market should be more or less fair IMO.
8806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ETH] Ethereum = Scam on: July 19, 2017, 07:44:58 PM
Sold alL my ETH.

An old-fashioned crypto.
How did that work out for you?

He sold out too early.

He is probably a spoetnik fan. That is why he sold too early. You can get good gains if you do the opposite of what he says
Naah, I think spoetnik has ideological basis to be against ethereum. It's his views that don't let see the facts. This guy, on the other hand, just panicked along with others. It is hard not to do that. When I see a dump starting and I know it's just because of panic, I prefer not to look at the prices till it is over.
8807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it over? on: July 19, 2017, 07:29:38 PM
I think it is over and based on what I am reading on reddit there might not be split of bitcoin network! The best time to buy bitcoin is now before the price get to the moon. Many traders sold their coins out of panic and fear of what will happen on August 1 but there might not be split and the network is working fine on segwith.
I think you are wrong in some ways, I think. Coins in red thing being over would mean that the market would be growing again. For that btc has to get Segwit successfully implemented. If btc goes Gard fork, however, this would mean that interests are split and so some people aim to pay for one thing and others for another which will result in huge price drop
8808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how many coins do you have in your portfolio ? on: July 18, 2017, 08:37:53 PM
I have only bitcoin and two cryptos. Both are successful. Bought eth for 16 dollars (but got 60% stolen) and ktccktkcyckt for 20, when there was a drop of price. I wanted to buy doge recently but found out only this crazy website where it was worth 0.1$ whereas its real price was 0.01 at that time
8809  Economy / Economics / Re: About world crisis and criptocurrency on: July 18, 2017, 08:27:03 PM
Hello

what will happened with cripto currency if it was world crisis?
wha do yu think?

Historically, when there are times of uncertainty around the world, or in specific places in the world, or when the confidence in the national currency decreases, people flock to gold for safety.  With cryptocurrencies around nowadays, I'd think that any uncertainty or currency crisis would cause a huge influx of money into cryptos for safety to maintain wealth.
I don't think this sounds realistic. People would rather care about food or diamonds. Moreover, I think cryptocurrencies may in fact cause the world crisis. Why? Because people invest in currencies and sell them, thus earning money. They mostly don't use them. And this means that they are not worth these big sums people get when they sell them.
8810  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we ever see bitcoin lower than 1000$? on: July 18, 2017, 08:14:35 PM
As predicted in this thread before - mark my words in the next 1-2 Weeks BTC will be at 700-1200$ price range. Which isn't bad imo. It will stay there for a longer time before it explodes again.
I wasn't believe on that speculation, because if bitcoin comes to that ranges, what is your basis? I believe that bitcoin were not fall down under $1000 because segwit will be change that's why I was not worries after August 1.
Well, people are worried because of Segwit and I think this can cause damage to btc price by itself. And what of btc doesn't succeed in implementation? What if a lot of miners don't support the change and as a result we have 2 currencies? In such a case price will go lower than $1k for sure
8811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hands down - who really didn't sell anything? on: July 16, 2017, 10:03:15 AM
As far as I see from the replies in this thread, it is not people from this forum that mainly sell a lot of money and cause these problems on the market. I guess those are people who used to invest using fiat and invested in some papers like on Wall street. They don't understand that currencies are not the same as papers and that it is actually them who mainly make the market go up or down. But then again, it wouldn't be possible to earn money investing into things if there weren't big price jumps out here.
8812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to buy again? on: July 16, 2017, 09:37:54 AM
It seemed like there was a crash every weekend in the last few weeks. Maybe people just cash out most on Fridays. Maybe the future will be more clear if this is correct.
Perhaps you are right, I didn't notice that. Well, I don't panic along with all these currencies going so down. I suppose it's all right for that to happen from time to time. Maybe this will clean up the market, destroy worthless currencies and leave only those people aim to use in their life or at least those in which they're ready to invest.
Now might be the time to buy ethereum, because it hasn't been so low for quite a long time.
8813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC goes hard fork that means ETH will be the new king? on: July 16, 2017, 09:15:13 AM
It can happen for the Temporary time until the Bitcoin problem is not solved then the Bitcoin which gets strong support will bounce back and will  be leading it back. Like ETH first it went down and after some time it bounced back and created new ATH that everyone knows it.
I am not sure bitcoin will manage to overcome such a thing as a hard fork. Especially if both versions will have many miners on their side. That would mean there btc would be at least two times less powerful and that will make eth better if of course it does not lead to the death of cryptoworld because of major panic and thus result in economic crisis.
8814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: July 16, 2017, 09:04:22 AM
There's no reason why the minimum bet is still not reduce yet, I'm sure the dev have another goal to reach as soon as possible, like slot game and system availability of mobile app.

Besides that, because it's used ETH blockchain, I think it's difficult to change the system.

But the price keep changing every day, I think first some rules would be needed to avoid losses and confusion about the minimum changing every time. Also no gambling site would be good for everyone, some will be for whales, others will be for penny bettors. Maybe the minimum is to avoid blockchain spam too, who knows.

That is true, i think it would require a new contract or something similar to change the rules.
However i see that Ethereum is going to drop quite alot in the near future after so long pump, so maybe that 0.22ETH will not be that much then.
But i do not see why making a new smart contract would take much time, because you could have 2 seperate smart contracts at least.
Yes, right, I forgot.. It is based on smart contracts, isn't it? I did wonder before whether it is possible to abort or change such a contract. How does it work? Say, if it was set for one year, is it possible within the year to change it? Or the possibility of change has to be included in the contract in advance?
You are talking about a new contract here. Is it possible to make a new contract that will contradict the previous one and start processing instead? Or maybe the new contract can be made only when the previous one has come to an end?
8815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum-Wallet.net A Scam? on: July 16, 2017, 08:51:21 AM
i always use MEW wallet and remenber their domain name suffix is .com
I use MEW now, that's where I got my reimbursement sent but before I just bought some eth for $16 and kept them in ethereum-wallet.net, so yeah, I lost 60% which is sad. From that time I don't feel like investing in eth even though it might be profitable.
I don't know whether it is a scam or the site really was hacked... Administrator used to write from time to time about the development of some system to return money but I guess he hasn't written for a while and this is a bad sign. If only there was a chance to make him pay us that money..
8816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The 10 Oldest Altcoins on: July 14, 2017, 10:03:55 AM
Which 10 Altcoins are the oldest?
Currently I can think of Litecoin (2011), Namecoin(2011), Peercoin (2012),  Ripple (2013), GridCoin (2013) and Dogecoin (2013).
All of them are active till now.  Smiley
Some more can be found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptocurrencies
Yeah, I wanted to write about this list.
It is quite surprising that the age doesn't matter a lot. Litecoin, doge and maybe ripple still mean something, whereas the 3 others don't. And ethereum was released later and yet it doesn't make the coin worse. I think that age matters in certain aspects. For instance, a brand new coin has to exist for about a year to prove that it is okay. But I don't think that it is important whether a coin is 2 or 4 years old.
8817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i think "bitcoin unlimited" is better than segwit. on: July 14, 2017, 09:40:40 AM
Well, the choice has been already made and miners are more for segwit, I believe. And both are really hard to fully understand, because of very hard math. Segwit can be understood by some simplification quite all right. And it will be a temporary decision anyway, because eventually the blocks will still become full. As for BU, this idea of flexible transactions is hardly understood. Plus, one has to upgrade software necessarily to BU, because it is not similar to btc we have now. This will result in a hard fork and that is not likely to influence the price in a good way, you know.
8818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: July 14, 2017, 09:15:22 AM
It is absolutely great that they decided to make a mobile version for there are many people who mostly use their phone and might even not have a pc. At least I know such people. In my country in villages people don't usually have a pc and internet there but they have smartphones with mobile internet, so perhaps they could've gambled now Smiley

I agree, however if the people in villages cannot afford a PC, how can they afford to gamble on vDice with 0.22 ETH minimum bet?

Right, good point. I think I missed that. Surely they can't.. Why is min bet still so high? Did we get some explanation from vdice owners? Are there some technical issues which don't allow to make lower bets, perhaps? Maybe, something to do with transactions and the fees they require? Or is it a principal position that the bet should not be lower?
8819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Nice pump today..how many more dumps before august 1st? on: July 13, 2017, 09:50:26 AM
Does this really matter? We can just store our coins now and wait for better times. And they are likely to come in a month or so. During dumps one may buy some good altcoins. Nowadays is a good time for that. I think we'll see big pumps as well. Especially, if everything goes just fine with bitcoin. Just keep calm and wait till the market will be super-green again. No need to panic and sell the money.
8820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin to invest aside from Bitcoin on: July 13, 2017, 09:39:46 AM
Ethereum and Litecoin are looking good to me.
They are very good investment choices indeed but I think the op means the coin which are even cheaper than that. Let's admit, they both have already experienced their  big growth of price. That's why I would suggest dogecoin. It is currently #21 in marketcap, although it is worth a couple of cents. Furthermore, it has a very secure code, fast transactions and second biggest cryptocurrency community after bitcoin. I believe this one can raise in price and bring you the money.
