8821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Copyright Registrations Do Not Recognize Craig Wright as Satoshi Nakamoto on: May 23, 2019, 01:27:22 PM
Let me get to the source itself:

https://www.copyright.gov/press-media-info/press-updates.html

Quote

May 22, 2019: Questions about Certain Bitcoin Registrations

As a general rule, when the Copyright Office receives an application for registration, the claimant certifies as to the truth of the statements made in the submitted materials. The Copyright Office does not investigate the truth of any statement made.

We all know that there's no truth about Craig's claiming the Whitepaper.

Quote
A registration represents a claim to an interest in a work protected by copyright law, not a determination of the truth of the claims therein. It is possible for multiple, adverse claims to be registered at the Copyright Office. The Copyright Office does not have an opposition procedure for copyright registrations, such as the procedures available at the Patent and Trademark Office for patents and trademark registrations. Disputes over the claims in a registration may be heard before federal courts, including disputes over authorship of a work. Someone who intentionally includes false information in an application may be subject to penalties.

So there's a chance if someone will file a dispute here, going to court, proving the Craig is not the original author of the Whitepaper.

Quote
In a case in which a work is registered under a pseudonym, the Copyright Office does not investigate whether there is a provable connection between the claimant and the pseudonymous author.

In the case of the two registrations issued to Mr. Wright, during the examination process, the Office took note of the well-known pseudonym “Satoshi Nakamoto,” and asked the applicant to confirm that Craig Steven Wright was the author and claimant of the works being registered. Mr. Wright made that confirmation. This correspondence is part of the public registration record.

Everything came from the mouth of Craig, and we all know that this guy is not to be trusted and he is a fraud.
8822  Economy / Exchanges / Re: what do you make out of Binance hack on: May 23, 2019, 01:13:23 PM

With the news Binance is covering 100% of exchange user losses from their SAFU fund, for Bitcoin, it was back to business as usual.

This was a very important issue. I think the market would have been badly affected if it reflected the damage to the incident.
Before mostly when incident like hacking exchange will immediately affects the whole industry, panic will start to happen and the value of most coins will fall, but with this setup which binance use the insurance money to cover loses, it's just another news that passed but nothing really affects the industry, and looking now with how the business runs and how the token gained more supports.

But there was an incident of a hack in 2016 as far as I remember. It was a Bitfinex hack, the market was tested that time, and even though the price fall after the hack, if immediately bounce back and eventually ended in the bubble in 2017. But indeed, with SAFU in place, Binance was able to somewhat stop the bleeding, and there was no significant dent on the price after the incident.
8823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Block Halving count down on: May 23, 2019, 02:59:58 AM

https://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/

365 days from now, we will see another bitcoin block halving. Everyone touted this event as the pre-cursor to the next massive bull run, new all-time-high to be set. What are your plans?

Start hoarding BTC now and let's see how everything goes next year. Grin

What ATH are you seeing? As far as I can remember it took four to five months before the price started to move and goes on a parabolic rise till the end of 2017.
8824  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOINS 5th signal on: May 22, 2019, 09:21:31 PM
I read somewhere that Bitcoins according to trading investors generally gives off parabolic signals which marks increase before the actual event.
Right now if we go according to them, it have just given a parabolic signal for increasing tremendously for a 5th time now

A parabolic signal? No, I don't think we've seen that yet. I don't think we're even close to that stage of the market cycle. We're probably still many months or years away.

A good analogy for where we are might be October-November 2015. We've exited the bear market and trapped bears in the long term bottom range. But it'll probably take many months of consolidating and slowly grinding upwards before we go vertical like in 2017.

As for the next selloff.......it's anyone's guess at this point. I would say to be prepared for a 30-45% pullback in value. A pullback from $10K to the $6K area would match the 2015 chart almost exactly.

Aren't we already on a minor pull back ?
What I think is it's right time to buy Bitcoins and save them , because soon enough the bull ride is going to go again .

Yes it's going slowly but at the same time this slow change isn't bad at all , on the opposite hand it's proving to be tremendously dominant over the low price fall off in the past that always happens when it suddenly increases.

I think slow growth is proving to be better than a can of coke , you shake it hard and all the frizz comes out but again dies down fast , it's better like a tea , takes time to boil but at the same time it will take time to cool... More than the frizz for sure.

If we are expecting a big pull-back, it should be around $5800-$5900, but so far we haven't seen that trend as the price is fairly trading on a sideway patterns for now, $7700-$7900. I agree with you that we should be saving bitcoin for the long haul, if we are expecting a bullish run leading up to the 2020 bitcoin block halving.

But right now, it will be a long grind to at least $8400 and the probably we will see a retracement once again.
8825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: May 22, 2019, 09:08:59 PM

Nah resting period won't really matter.

These players are professional and they used to play regularly. Didn't you know that after every game, they do practice the other day and their usual routines. So come to think of it, they are doing that for the whole season.

No such thing as long rest = advantage ; short ones = disadvantages.

Game 7 is on 28th if necessary. 30th is the finals. Neither who will win on ECF will have a good rest. The said team instead will be more pump up and excited rather than tired. Remember that Bucks last finals appearance was way back 1973. Raptors, on the other hand, doesn't have experience.

But they are just humans, sometimes the body needs some break specially a gruelling NBA games. So it's a good thing for GSW to have a least a good rest before facing either Toronto or Bucks.

It seems though that Toronto has find their way in their series against the Bucks, now they are tied 2-2. But personally, I still favoured the Bucks here, we wanted to see Giannis against the GSW in the finals.  Grin.
8826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Bare Knuckle: Malignaggi vs Lobov June 22 on: May 22, 2019, 08:37:57 PM
https://www.boxingscene.com/malignaggi-piece-sht-mma-community-see-lobov-coma--139250

Quote
On Monday, Bare Knuckle FC held a press conference to promote next month's card - with Malignaggi and Lobov trading vicious words - and Malignaggi spitting in the face of Lobov.
A few weeks ago, Malignaggi slapped Lobov in face during another promotional event.

Their rivalry stems from another. Malignaggi has a longstanding beef with UFC superstar Conor McGregor, who is good friends with Lobov.

Malignaggi and McGregor had a bad fallout in 2017, after the UFC fighter brought him in as a sparring partner for a scheduled fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Malignaggi has been discussing a promise to put Lobov in a coma - in order to send a message to the mixed martial arts community.

The veteran boxer feels strongly that MMA fans have been disrespectful of the sport of boxing.

“Lobov and the mixed martial arts community have really disrespected my sport in a lot of ways; boxing, saying that we fight with pads on and it’s not a real fighting sport and what not, but we have all the deaths,” Malignaggi told FightHype.com.

I became a fan of Paulie when we showed he got the balls fighting Miguel Cotto with a broken jaw. But he became a dick lately in his career, he had a bad mouth. On the other hand, we all know who Lobov is,  Grin. So this is one exciting fight and it's bare knuckle.  Grin. What are your thoughts about this fight? Other's are totally against bare knuckle because it is really brutal, buy hey if two combatants with a history of bad blood between the two, then expect a full pack action fight.  Grin. I'lll go with Paulie here because of his superior boxing skills, although he is feather fisted. I think he can dodge and frustrate Lobov here and then eventually used his boxing experience later in the rounds.
8827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Naoya Inoue vs Emmanuel Rodgriguez - WBSS Bantamweight on: May 19, 2019, 01:14:30 PM
Stage has set for Inoue and the "Filipino Flash", Nonito Donaire for the WBSS Bantamweight belt. Inoue just needed 70 seconds to obliterate Rodriguez. I got Donaire here, even though he is old, but that left hook and the timing is still there for the veteran.
8828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs Breazeale - May 18 on: May 19, 2019, 04:46:20 AM
Deontay Wilder won the fight.

But.. but in one f***g round. It was a mismatch as everyone has expecting it to be, but in one round?  Grin

8829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: May 19, 2019, 04:30:24 AM
Impressive road win by the Golden State Warriors. Green really push the game up high and I will say that the is the catalyst on this win. That 12 assists alone really help the team with easy baskets. Of course Curry's shooting hand is back and the rest of the team is already playing post Kevin Durant.  Grin. So another final appearance for them vs the Greak Freak, and that is Final that we all have been wanting for.
8830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you are regretting not encashing read this ' on: May 18, 2019, 06:45:20 PM
Well there's two school of thoughts here, it's either you want to profit short term, then you can encash it as long as you are in a positive, or just HODL. But majority of us knows that bitcoin is the best performing assets so it should be look as a long term investment. If you don't have the patience, then crypto is not for you. Maybe you can just go on other business like buy and sell, just saying.
8831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WPP Energy tokens? on: May 18, 2019, 06:25:22 PM
Not a big fan of this token, as it went down even during the bull run. I read the whitepaper for this project and found it interesting. But the fact that the token is going down in value may mean the promoters not honoring the commitments or some other negative factor. And one thing I have noticed is the sudden spurt in trade volumes between 10th May and 15th May. It is possible that some manipulation is going on.

Obviously, this token is not an exception for price manipulation. As others have said, there is a big hype around this project, but a total disappointed when it hits the exchange. I mean, I read their blogs last year, said it will be somewhat a stable coin, right? That's why in digifinex, the pairing is just WPP/USDT, so they stick to their plans but it looks like it backfired on them.

And now seeing the price in coinmarketcap like $.002? What a disappointment, to say the least. So yeah, I'm also not a big fan of this project, just pure hype and short of delivery, sorry.
8832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: May 18, 2019, 01:30:41 PM
Milwaukee are currently roling here on game two, they've started the game way better than they did in game one, and have led by as much as 18 points during the first quarter, but the quarter ended 35-21 in favor of the Bucks!

64-39 half time score, in favor of the bucks, it should be an easy win for the Bucks.
They will win this as they don't give up a lead unlike the Raptors, Bucks bench are scoring really well in this game.

Right, the final score 103-125.

They throw everything in the first quarter and it was enough to hold off the Raptors. Toronto though was able to cut the lead in the third, but wasn't enough as the Bucks tighten their defense.

Ersan Ilyasova came off the bench to add 17 points, Giannis added 30 points to go with 17 rebounds.

The Greek Freak made another amazing performance tonight. I hope he will endure this beast mode and go all the way to the finals and win the ring because he truly deserves it this season.
Ilyasova wasn't the player that was helping a lot during the season but he has to help the Bucks now that they are in the end. He has the skill to do it and I hope he will continue performing in the next games.

Giannis was really unstoppable, he also developed his three point shot, making him more dangerous. And I don't think someone from Toronto can stop him as this point, whether doing isolation plays or running a fast break. But I think Toronto will steal the next game and make this series more interesting. Leonard will go full mode and so is Lowry.
8833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Naoya Inoue vs Emmanuel Rodgriguez - WBSS Bantamweight on: May 18, 2019, 10:24:20 AM
I'm also expecting Inoue to KO Rodriguez in later rounds. Not in the first rounds where most of the fights Inoue KO his opponent. Rodriguez advantage is height, but Inoue has fought fighters much taller than him and it's not a problem. Inoue is also at the prime age of boxing, 26 years old and more hungry to prove why he is the best bantamweight right now.

And just to set the record again, Laszlo Hanyecz has bought 2 pizza's this time using Lightning Network back in 2018. Here is his original post in the Lightning dev mailing list.

[Lightning-dev] Pizza for (lightning) bitcoins?
Laszlo Hanyecz laszlo at heliacal.net
Sun Feb 25 01:29:59 UTC 2018

I wanted to try out a real trade using lightning network.  I don't know of any pizza places near me that accept lightning bitcoin yet but a friend from London agreed to do it and he sub contracted out the pizza delivery to a local shop.
In short, I paid bitcoin using the lightning network and he arranged for pizza to be delivered to me.  In this trade my friend is just a middle man that is taking the risk on accepting lightning payments, but it demonstrates the basic premise of how this works for everyday transactions.  It could just as well be the pizza shop accepting the payment directly with their own lightning node.
I wanted two pizzas and to try to do it as close to atomically as possible.  I didn't want to prepay and end up with no pizza.  As far as I know we don't yet have pizza/bitcoin atomic swap software but we improvised and decided that I would need to provide the payment hash preimage to the delivery driver in order to claim my pizza.  If I can't produce the preimage, proving that I paid, then the pizza would not be handed over and it would be destroyed.  This works because I can't get the preimage without paying the invoice.  I agreed to open a channel and fund it with a sufficient amount for what we estimated the cost would end up being.  After we agreed to these terms my friend was able to verify that I funded a channel on the blockchain, which shows that I at least have the money (bitcoin).  He is taking on some entrepreneurial risk and prepaying his sub contractor to prepare and deliver the pizza to me, but at this point I have not risked my bitcoins, they're just committed to a channel.  I was given a bolt11 invoice which I decoded with the c-lightning cli to verify everything was as agreed:
8835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Your Emotions: Highs and Lows of the Bull Runs on: May 17, 2019, 05:53:05 PM
Of course, everyone was delighted to see the price going on and you feel ecstatic and feeling nostalgic as well, specially for those who have been in the previous runs in 2017  Grin. However, I'm not imaging driving those expensive cars though. I was thinking of buying a new home, or at least renovate my house.  Grin. Yep, putting up a business is a good idea as well, so it also crosses my mind. So let's see in 2020-2021, whether we can finally learn the lessons for 2017 and be crypto millionaires in the future. Even prior to the implementation of merit system, it was discussed as early as 2014, Can we "Like" a post? by Vod.

So I don't see if this is a viable options though, merit is already enough, in my opinion.

8839  Economy / Economics / Re: Starbucks, Nordstrom And Whole Foods Now Accept Bitcoin on: May 17, 2019, 01:34:24 PM

One big question here is what the media and pro establishment response will be, if any. There have been numerous news reports of mcdonalds and other retail giants rolling out their own payment processor systems based around cell phone technology. In mcdonald's case, their implementation was reported to be significantly flawed with many having their money stolen and accounts breached. Crypto currency based payment systems associated with cell phones could be poised to provide a stable and functional merchant platform in an era where such technology is in desperate need.

Yes, I saw some news regarding a Toronto man losing like $2k using Mcdonald's app. But the main point is that this technology is still very young. Lots of growing up pains, just like we witnessed in couple of days. So I would say give at least 2 years for some adjustments to be made here. On the bright side, if no one will take this steps, then we will not know what will be the effect, so there will be lots of "if's", at least we have the answers now.
8840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: May 17, 2019, 12:43:17 PM

Dude, even without KD, they are firing up. They chose their classic first 5 before KD and cousins made it to the team.

They've already won a championship with that line up so it only makes sense to use that combination again and again. I think they can wipe out the Blazers in 4 games even if KD or Cousins don't play. The current line up might even win it all.

There's no question about it. The Warriors have won championships with this line up prior to KD or Cousins. What we don't understand is how the hell did the Portland blow the lead in the 3rd quarter and then lead 7 with just what 4 minutes to go. They are good in closing out games and protecting their lead.

But it was a total collapsed, good thing is that the next game will be on their homecourt so there must be some kind of semblance and urgency to stop the bleeding and win the next game and forgot what happen tonight. For me the next game will be a must win for them.
