8841  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: June 13, 2021, 06:21:18 AM
<Snip>
I created an account with BC.Game when I wrote my Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos thread. You are right, they do have such a lucky spin wheel. I tried it out and got some in-house JB tokens as a reward. From what I can see, players can spin the wheel once every 18 hours.

On the other hand they are not considered faucets but if you get a "free" cryptocurrency they should be...
It's free coins whether you click on a claim button or spin a wheel. I'd consider that a faucet as well.

BC.Game will be added to the table in OP as well!
8842  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: June 12, 2021, 09:42:22 PM
I also found out that Rocketrun have their own faucet, you only need email verification to enable the faucet. They allow 15 claims maximum as long as your SPD balance is zero and you get 30 SPD (84 satoshi) per claim.
I am not sure what SPD is, probably a native currency to the Rocket.run casino. But I will take a look at it the next time I make changes to the table in OP. According to what they mention on their site, 1000 SPD = 1 USD. I got 300 SPD for registering. I played a few rounds of the Rocket Run game just to see how it is. Tried the faucet as well and it works.

Thanks for the tip!

I hope you would add or maybe create another thread on which gambling site would allow user to use VPN so some people would be able to use a secure connection I'll try to play with these sites with VPN.
I don't know, it's too controversial. Casinos can change those rules anytime, and in case a player gets into trouble for using a VPN on a platform that no longer allows it, they'll say Pmalek said it's fine, it's his fault, we trusted him, he is a lier, etc. Smiley People always find a way to shift the blame on someone else.
8844  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: June 12, 2021, 09:03:44 AM
To reach level 1, attaining 10,000 XP (~$6 in wagering BUX) is required.

If you don't feel comfortable adding it to the list, it's totally fine.
If the site requires a fresh account to reach 10,000 points by wagering around $6, I can no longer consider it free coins or a free crypto faucet. Because of that, I wont add the site to my table. Had it not been for that requirement, it would have found its way to the OP.

Even Wolf.bet has an untraditional rewards-like system where you have to come back every day (for 7 days) to unlock all rewards. However, it's still free, and all they ask of the player is to enable 2FA.
8845  Other / Meta / Re: Can moderators be asked to close threads of banned accounts? on: June 12, 2021, 08:50:58 AM
I agree that banned users threads should automatically be locked when they are banned (if they are unbanned, then the user themselves can unlock the threads - should they choose to do so).
I think it should be considered case by case. You should also take into account who the banned user is. Obviously the two threads linked in the OP are good examples of topics that should be locked, but we have had many cases where senior members get banned for plagiarism that happened years ago. Those members could have created quality threads that can remain active even without their OPs still around. That's why I don't think it should become a rule to have all threads by all banned users locked automatically. Instead, the admins should check who the person was and what kind of contributions they made to the forum in the same way they do when determining whether a ban should be lifted or not.

Keeping the threads open would also prevent a similar thread to be opened about the same topic. When users look for valuable information, they now have to search through two threads instead of just the one.

Banned Users can also change there Truslist and manipulate it on this way also .
I always thought that banned users can't take part in any activities, which includes posting, sending PMs, sending merits, making trust related edits, adding/supporting flags...

If you are unable to express your opinion without posting pictures (oversized most of the time), a discussion board like Bitcointalk might not be the best place for you. There are many members who would gladly quote your picture in their own reply to make it visible on the forum if it really improves the discussion.

A few examples where pictures from OP were quoted:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5238266.msg54171023#msg54171023
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5307928.msg56319878#msg56319878
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5046986.msg46699360#msg46699360

Those posts are enough to prove that even without the ability to post pictures, you will find someone willing to help you out and quote your post to make them visible if they bring a certain quality.
8847  Other / Meta / Re: VPN Related problem to Bitcointalk Account Registration on: June 12, 2021, 08:10:16 AM
The Evil IP system has more cons than it has pros in my opinion. The good thing about it is that it will stop spammers and scumbags who don't want to pay the fee from coming back to the forum. Unfortunately, it affects first-time users as well. There are cases where people have registered here for the first time and they were asked to pay the evil fee just because someone with a similar geo-location did something bad. It leaves a bad taste and causes newbies to give up on the forum, and possibly on bitcoin, before they even start.
8848  Other / Meta / Re: RECOMMENDATION FOR GENERATING FUNDS on: June 12, 2021, 07:58:34 AM
All the suggestions are bad.

Forum as an organized place where people are meet for serious business discussion regarding bitcoin and other altcoin need to have a fund generating platform for periodical maintenance of the forum for a conducive environment.
Bitcointalk has 100s of bitcoin in its reserves. Some are held in a multisig wallet and theymos is in possession of a big chunk of it as well. Bitcointalk doesn't need such a thing.

1. Registration fee: the forum should be rearranged in the other at which every nee member can pay some dues as gate fee that can grant them registration access to the forum.
No, it shouldn't. This is a free forum and the knowledge shared on it is and should remain free. The point of Bitcoin is not that 2-3 selected users benefit from thousands of others seeking knowledge.

2. Finding fee: every member that is caught violating the forum rule should be made to pay find before they can be allowed to participate again in the forum
Those who break forum rules are temp banned, perma banned or have their posts deleted. Plagiarism also gets punished by disallowing the user to take advantage of his signature space.

3. Market capitalisation and bounty pools should be deposited here till any company round up their bounty campaign. At the end their money will be sent to them and the forum shall be compensated.
Although I wouldn't have anything against bounty campaigns having to pay a middleman to hold the coins to be allowed to advertise on the forum, it's not going to happen because no one cares about the altcoin section besides those participating in bounty campaigns. It creates a false sense of security and even if you get those shit coins in the end, most of the time they aren't worth anything.
8849  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Polkadot (DOT) Staking on: June 12, 2021, 07:28:04 AM

If I understood correctly, both releases are based on the same Ian Coleman tool. The difference between them is that MrFlay's version performs a checksum calculation, yours doesn't. Anything else?

Has anyone used the Electrum Seed Tester by MrFlay and checked its code that it doesn't do something it's not supposed to?
8851  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why do people say hardware wallets are unhackable? on: June 12, 2021, 06:40:42 AM
If this indeed occurred, I could almost guarantee that it was due to a hardware-modified hardware wallet, not necessarily a software thing.
I was curious about it myself, so I decided to look into it. It was indeed a software-related vulnerability, and not something to do with a modified hardware device.

They explain in the FAQ in this report that the client's application has to be compromised. You would have to be tricked into downloading a fake Ledger app. It really didn't make much sense for an attacker to play around with this thing because he can't steal any money. All he can do is make you pay much higher mining fees and he doesn't benefit from that.
8852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Feature Do You Look for In Slot Games? on: June 12, 2021, 06:30:57 AM
@Bitinity
Adding a new option to the poll at this stage wouldn't make sense because many users who wanted to vote have already voted. Maybe the results would have been different if that option was there from the start. I also don't think those provably fair slot games are popular among players. I can't remember ever reading something about them and I can't even name a provably fair slot without researching first. Therefore, I feel like it's better to leave it as it is.

Another thing I seek is feature-buy because sometimes it is boring to chase free spins and better go directly buy them.
The free spins buy feature is interesting. I wanted to use it on the Hotline 2 slot the other day. I had some money on a casino but placed it on a sports bet instead trying to improve my balance. I ended up losing it.

Which slots with buy features are worth it in your opinion?

If the Stake team doesn't mind that you use a VPN, then you have nothing to worry about and you can continue using one. But are you sure that they would allow you to play a slot game with a VPN because your original territory is banned by the operator? Have you asked them specifically about this?

It's one thing to use a VPN to gamble and mask your identity and whereabouts.
It's different if you are cheating the game operator by connecting from a different IP address.

If I were you, I would ask the customer support or the owner (if you know him) if what you are doing is OK, so that you don't run into problems if you win big money one day and suddenly questions are being asked who you are and where you are from.
8854  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺WOLF.BET - Sportsbook is ON 🏟️ Advanced Dice Game 🎲 2.000 Bets/s⚡ on: June 11, 2021, 04:39:40 PM
I briefly glanced at your new sports betting feature and tried it out with a couple of small bets.

The bets got accepted instantly after clicking on the 'Place Bet' button. I am positively surprised with the speed, but was wondering are the bets accepted that quickly for bigger amounts as well? Let's say $100 per bet slip?

Why are there no Asian handicap markets for football? I feel like AH betting are fundamental parts of football betting. Do you plan to introduce it later?
8855  Other / Meta / Re: Is it time to increase the Emojis ? on: June 11, 2021, 04:31:13 PM
I agree we need more emojis or at least an update in the current emojis because they look outdated and too simple right now.
Outdated compared to the brand new SMF forum software from 2006-2009? Call me old-fashioned, but I see no reason to change something that works. I would rather see more topics where I go wow, what an unbelievable post, rather than having this place turned into a smiley fest. Mobile compatibility is the first thing I would focus on. There is a problem that needs some fixing even though many users say they don't mind browsing the forum from their smartphone, but the experience is really bad.

Who cares about smileys Roll Eyes (see?)

8858  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why do people say hardware wallets are unhackable? on: June 11, 2021, 08:07:57 AM
The only known way you can lose funds using a hardware wallet using a malware-infested device, is when the device your using has a clipboard hijacker whereas you actually send the funds to the hacker's wallet address; but this should be easily preventable if you double check the address recipient on your hardware wallet when making the transaction.
There was a vulnerability discovered a while back that allowed an attacker (don't ask me how) to increase the transaction fees for bitcoin transactions involving segwit inputs. Apparently, the user wasn't aware of the fee increase. However, that 'bug' couldn't lead to funds being stolen or sent to a different address. It has also been fixed in the meantime.

Yes, we see a lot of hacking complaints on the Ledger and Trezor subreddit and other communities, but they're because of ignorance and carelessness of the hardware wallet user, not the fault of the hardware wallet(or the manufacturer) itself.
In 99% of such cases it's the fault of the user who downloaded a fake, malware-infected software, got phished by entering his seed somewhere, or had his seed stolen from his email, Google drive or some other online service. And those people accuse the hardware wallet creators for the problems they themselves created.
8859  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Feature suggestion. JavaScript offline recovery tool on: June 11, 2021, 07:34:42 AM
I had tried it in the past and you can actually recover legacy addresses generated by electrum in Iancoleman.
I bookmarked HCPs post because it might come in handy sometimes. Thanks for suggesting it!

Why does this method only work with legacy addresses, and can't a similar modification be made for native segwit addresses as well?
Is there a different tool that could be used for for native segwit addresses?
8860  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Restoring Electrum wallet with hardware device on: June 11, 2021, 07:21:38 AM
I didn't like the word "restore" that was used in the OP because I thought he was actually trying to restore a wallet from its seed in Electrum. You aren't restoring your wallet. You are just using Electrum as the software to handle your transactions. Electrum never has access to your seed or private keys, hence nothing was "restored".

The wallet name doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is adjusting the derivation path when creating your Electrum wallet. I assume Trezor uses the same paths as Ledger. So, if your first native segwit wallet is m/84'/0'/0', that's the path you have to use in Electrum. If you are trying to restore a 2nd or 3rd wallet, the path has to be adjusted to m/84'/0'/1' or m/84'/0'/2'. You can name the wallet file anything you like.

Of course, if you have set up multiple hardware wallets with Electrum, you have to select the correct wallet file for the hardware wallet currently connected to your computer.
