8861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Feature Do You Look for In Slot Games? on: April 18, 2021, 06:40:18 AM
My favourite strategy when playing slots is to choose as many lines as possible with the minimum bets. The only disadvantage with this game is that the bankroll runs out very quickly.
That's how it is with slot games. Each line is a new bet that adds up to your total wager. You can either limit yourself to just a few lines or activate them all. The problem with the first option is that you will be missing out on plenty of possible wins because you don't have that particular winning pattern (payline) active. Betting with all paylines costs more, just like you said.

I don't like the minimum bets. Those are just pennies, and even if you manage to trigger a big win percentagewise, you would be getting pennies or a few dollars back. You have got to be very lucky to win something decent with minimum wagers.

@FortuneJack
Are there any updates about the Jackmate competition? The matchday results haven't been updated since the second leg matches of the 1/16 finals. Both rounds of the 1/8 finals haven't been logged yet. I won my first matchday prize in the round of 16 and looking forward to putting it to good use in a future bet. Grin
8863  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger omitting one character from a Doge address on: April 17, 2021, 10:18:12 PM
In all my years with a Ledger wallet, I have never seen such a thing. I don't have Dogecoins on my Ledger device, but I thought I would be able to create a 0-value transaction and get to the confirmation screen to have the address displayed on the device. After installing the app and adding a Doge account, it unfortunately didn't work. The continue button is only clickable with a valid balance.

All I could try was to generate a new receiving address and compare the one in Ledger Live to the one displayed on the screen of my Nano. Both were identical, there were no missing characters. Can you recreate the bug when you generate new receiving addresses or when you try to send to any random Doge address found on the blockchain?
8864  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed Tsx please someone help. on: April 17, 2021, 06:35:58 PM
Looks like Jochen restarted his node which would explain the sudden drop and empty mempool between 19:00 - 19:30. I don't think we can't trust the site's estimates just yet because it's currently showing 5 vMBs of unconfirmed transactions in the 70 sat range. We are missing 25 vMBs or so from before the reboot.
8865  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What's the network plan in case of a 51% attack? on: April 17, 2021, 06:08:24 PM
But you are forgetting that the prize of Bitcoin would drastically fall in the event of such an attack. If Bitcoin were to rise to $1 Million, which I doubt, that wont be the value of it when the network gets attacked. And I repeat. That state (the attacker) can't use its hashpower to revert my transactions or your transactions. They can double-spend their own, but the more confirmations those transactions have, the more expensive the attack will become.
8866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: unconfirmed BTC transaction... on: April 17, 2021, 05:41:32 PM
Exchanges overcharge their customers, batch transactions together, and generally send them with high fees. There shouldn't be a reason for you to wait 12 hours for an exchange withdrawal even with a clogged up mempool. I have never used Bitstamp, do they maybe perform batched withdrawals at a certain time of the day?

Check your withdrawal history on Bitstamp. It should contain information such as in progress, processed, or something like that. If it's been processed, there will be a transaction ID that you can enter in a block explorer as other members pointed out. If it still hasn't left the exchange, wait for 24 hours to pass before contacting their support and asking about it. Have you doublechecked that the receiving address from Binance is correct?
8867  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What's the network plan in case of a 51% attack? on: April 17, 2021, 05:25:52 PM
I read a little about this in the past. The first thing that would be needed for a successful 51% attack is millions of ASIC miners. Now we arrive at the problem where the attacker would get these devices from. Companies like Bitmain can't produce enough to satisfy the demand. Everything is pre-ordered and I don't see how someone could get their hands on a few million miners.

Let's say the attacker succeeded in acquiring them. He now needs enough electricity to power them all and cooling equipment to prevent his factory from going up in flames. That's a constant and huge cost. Sooner or later, he will run out of funds to finance the attack, and the network will start recovering. Even with a successful attack, he can't go through the blockchain and randomly steal people's coins. He can double-spend his own transactions depending on what the depth of them are. I am not an expert in 51% attacks, but this is what I remembered from many other threads in the past including one started by myself.
8868  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: April 17, 2021, 05:06:20 PM

Then the second priority is to check the RTP percentage. I wish I will win a big amount one day. I had won but not a big amount till now.
The reason why could be because of another factor I mentioned in the poll: the volatility.
Maybe you have been playing the wrong slot games. Wrong in the sense that they belong to the low volatility category that tend to pay small but regular amounts. Make some research on the games you usually play, and see if that is the case. If you are more of a risk-taker, maybe you could switch to medium/high or high volatility slots.
8870  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Looking for tutorial that'll teach me to use tools in binance.us market exchange on: April 17, 2021, 01:18:37 PM
Just a tip. Try with small amounts in the beginning just to get used to it then when you feel you are ready then you can use the amounts you want to risk.
It's also a good idea to try out some of the crypto trading simulation platforms. I don't want to recommend any because I have personally never tried one, but I find the idea appealing. You will get the chance to use a crypto exchange in a training environment with fun money. You can play around with different markets, buy and sell coins, and learn your way around an exchange. Practice your strategies and investments in such an environment and then try to apply what you learned with a real trade.

@6erth6rind6ain
Try a search engine search for crypto trading simulation/platform and see what comes up. Be careful not to download something fake or malware infected.
8871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake vs Bet365: The Live Streaming Battle on: April 17, 2021, 01:07:21 PM
Great share, I've been looking for some free live streaming and I find bet365 hard to use, so I'll try stake.com, but based on what you posted, you can'd do a full screen, I guess that would limit some excitment. Anyway, I would still try, thanks for sharing.  Cheesy
There actually is an easy trick to overcome that problem with the small streaming window. I didn't think of it while writing this thread.

1. Download the Maximize Video extension for Chrome or Firefox.
2. Click on the streaming icon of the game you want to watch to open the small streaming window.
3. Click on the Maximize Video extension and then click inside the streaming window.

The stream will widen to almost full-screen. This is how it will look:

Try Reactoonz 2 mate, the music and sound effects are so good!
I know this game, I tried it some time ago, but never liked the characters and that cascading gameplay.

True, RTP for older games are usually higher at ~97% (depend on the provider), and it still has lots of loyal customers.
Mega Joker is an old 3-reels slot game. It's as classic as it gets. It has an RTP of 99% but I honestly never won any decent amounts while trying it in free mode.

Just a curiosity: sometimes when playing at slots in land based casinos it looks like the RTP isn't fixed, as the machines suddenly become more or less profitable, depending the time, as they were manipulated.
The RTP of slots in physical casinos is lower compared to online games. Land-based casinos have higher operating costs, staff members that require salaries, taxes, and other expenses that have to be paid. There are regulations what the RTPs can be, but in general you ca be sure they are lower than what you get online.
8873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Be Aware]: Celsius email security breach on: April 16, 2021, 01:36:28 PM
I have a question, if what they say is true, how would a third party gain access to their customer database? Customer data is often kept private in their platform, how is it provided to a third party?
Many companies and platforms outsource these things to third parties. Maybe you remember the leek of Ledger customer data. Their partner Shopify got hacked. Among the 200 customers that relied on Shopify was also Ledger. I am not sure what Celsius does exactly, but if they conducted KYC on their customers, these procedure was probably outsourced to someone else. The database of that third/party could have been hijacked. Then you have things like marketing data, newsletters, or ads. The more data that is kept, the bigger the possibility that some of it gets illegally obtained at one time in the future.
8874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies you should catch these little scam tricks if you want to stay in crypto on: April 16, 2021, 01:27:40 PM
It is hard to investigate every single giveaway, investment opportunity, and so on. So for a newbie to avoid becoming a victim while still on the learning process, he/she will have to disregard all kinds of giveaways, investment opportunities, crypto bonuses, free tokens, and so on. And, most of all, they should never ever send any amount of money to anybody.
A giveaway means that you get something for free. If you are required to send money first for whatever reason, it stops being a giveaway. If the giveaway requires your personal data, passwords, KYC, private keys, or seeds, you are selling that information and exchanging them for whatever is offered in the giveaway. If the giveaway requires you to register on a site, like and follow social media profiles, tweet, post, comment, it's also not a giveaway. You first have to do a service for them and provide proof of completion to be eligible to receive those coins.

True, the moment you talked about facing a problem in any popular project telegram group you will get a PM from people pretending to be part of the team for that project, this is very common on telegram too, newbies needs to watch their steps anytime
You will get a PM in many groups as soon as you join asking you if you solved your problem, how they can be of assistance, and if you have heard about their incredible investment opportunities. Roll Eyes
8875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Be Aware]: Celsius email security breach on: April 16, 2021, 01:00:38 PM
The question is how these scammers were able to get phone numbers?
Maybe the database the scammers got their hands on contained registered phone numbers and email addresses as well. In their security report, they mentioned there is a possibility that an external third-party database got hacked because some users who didn't register a phone or email also received the notifications.

Quote
Our team is actively working to understand how the unauthorized party managed to gain access to the third-party email distribution system and the source of the list used to send fraudulent communications via SMS.

We are checking with all of our third-party vendors and within other recent external/public data leaks to understand where this information came from and if third-party platforms have been vulnerable to any related incidents. We know that customers who had not registered an email or phone number with Celsius also received fraudulent messages to these contact details, thus we believe the data was collected from external data sources.

Most people suggested books and written content, so I am going to suggest another approach. If you are just starting out, it might be easier for you to watch YouTube videos to understand the basics, and then move on from there to more complex topics.

Take a look at the content created by these two channels and see if that is something you would be interested in:

I use five variables to rate slots games:
- Gameplay
- Graphics/animation
- Sound
- RTP
- Bankroll friendliness -> related to max-win, minimum bet, and volatility.
I have never considered sound and music an important factor when selecting what games to play. But I was pleasantly surprised when I played Hotline 2 the first time exclusively for the soundtrack it featured. Have you ever tried it?

Gameplay and graphics are the most important aspect if you want to play games.
If we are talking about PC and PlayStation games, I would agree with you. But when it comes to games where I expect to win something, or I wish to win something, I don't really care about the graphics as long as the payouts are decent.

I didn't add this option in the poll, but do you like the double or nothing coin toss game that some slots have after each win?
8879  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting a user who just merited you on: April 16, 2021, 06:59:25 AM
<Snip>
Merits are handed out for posts other users find have brought some quality and effort to a discussion. Buying and selling stuff, putting up ads, and asking questions about prices, shipments, etc, aren't the type of posts that others will find useful. If you have rare items, offer good prices, and if you know how to create an interesting auction, some merits will be sent your way. But to get to a position of ranking up, you have to start taking part in more serious types of discussions.

But now my country banned it for some reason so i can only use it over wifi
WIFI? I guess you were trying to say VPN? In my experience, bet365 has a very good detection rate and a strict policy when it comes to using VPNs. With some VPN providers that work with many other sites, I can't even load bet365 because they are blocked. If the bookie is banned in your location, I would never advise that players attempt to deposit money to it. It could be seen as a breach of the terms and detected quickly if you are unlucky.
