I think this is a desperate move by Stellar. They are really eager push the price up again to attract investors. Having a 20B supply right now is a good call for them since the current market condition is not good and having tons of supply will just make their token more useless. I'm expecting more development rather than cutting the total supply. And also more marketing to attract more users of the platform. Mass adoption is what Stellar needs. If stellar just follows the marketing path of Ripple, They will surely surpass them since XRP is a very centralized token.
Yes I agree with you, the Stellar Development Foundation is just trying to attract investors by doing maths, not by being creative. I'm not sure, this kind of purely financial strategy will work for very longtime. https://www.stellar.org/blog/sdfs-next-steps/BTW the've also disabled inflation last month. https://www.stellar.org/blog/our-proposal-to-disable-inflation

These lumens might be distributed as airdrops, as on Keybase, or they might go towards more subtle forms of direct user support, like, offsetting onboarding (KYC) fees or deposit fees. The end goal of this allocation is twofold: to get more lumens out in the word, so people can use them.

Looks like an employee mistake. Somebody's gonna get fired.
Not sure if it is a real employee's mistake. It looks like it's an issue with their servers, and I don't think someone would be dumb enough to just dox a bunch of emails. If he/she was though, god damn, I would not like to be him, don't think there is any way they keep their jobs. No it's really a human mistake, according to them they wanted to adapt their existing software to be able to send the mailing more quickly but they didn't test it before using it. To remedy this, we built an in-house system to handle the necessary rendering, translation, staging, and piecemeal (as not to trigger rate limits) sending of important email. BitMEX has not sent an email to every customer at once since 2017, and much has changed since then. When we initiated the send, it became clear that it would take upwards of 10 hours to complete, and there was a desire on the team to ensure users received the same material information on a more reasonable timescale.
To handle this, the tool was quickly rewritten to send single SendGrid API calls in batches of 1,000 addresses. Unfortunately, due to the time constraints, this was not put through our normal QA process. It was not immediately understood that the API call would create a literal concatenated “To:” field, leaking customer email addresses. As soon as we became aware, we immediately prevented further emails from being sent and have addressed the root cause. Since then we have been aiding all who have been affected as best we can and mitigating the damage to contain the leak. And no, nobody seems to have been fired. BitMEX is a company that takes engineering seriously, and we are disappointed that this lapse in care has resulted in unwanted disclosure for our customers. We believe that processes, not engineers, are to blame for these failures. Our processes failed here. We are working around-the-clock to revamp them and to ensure that even the simplest-looking code changes are put under strict review. https://blog.bitmex.com/email-privacy-issue-what-is-happening-and-how-can-we-help/

Don't want to remember it but my email was leaked through this forum. And there were so much bruteforce attack on several of my accounts in different sites. I used to join every site with the single email and that leak made me change email on every sites. With two emails, there were different problems on syncing through my phone and accounts. Now I'he made different email addresses for my personal and official use while others for crypto related sites.
My bitmex email had been leaked through this so called bug. And for the moment there hasn't been one single attempt to log in my Bitmex account. BTW it seems you can ask Bitmex support for changing your email address if it had been leaked. BitMEX Support (contact here) is working shifts with extra agents, continuing to handle customer requests to change email addresses, answer questions, and provide security assessment and advice. https://blog.bitmex.com/email-privacy-issue-what-is-happening-and-how-can-we-help/

Why do you guys like tron?
The question is not to like it or not, the question is to believe in it or not. If you think TRON will rise in the coming weeks or months it could be a good idea to invest in it. If you think the opposite, you should pick another crypto. But with the adding of TRX to the samsung crypto wallet and the 2nd position of the last CCID ranking, TRX has several good arguments. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fs3.cointelegraph.com%2Fstorage%2Fuploads%2Fview%2F3992203fa3e10af67afae76be192cb90.jpg&t=663&c=SZzARlfz81otYg)

Haha merci ! Je chope ça toutes les deux minutes : 'Down for maintenance, be back soon (503) The forum is down for maintenance. Try again in a few minutes.'

Many members here will justify the reason behind bitcoin surge to be china decision to implement blockchain technology as it is center for btc mining and have great impact on prices in global market but what i think is that whales are once again trying to manipulate the market with crearing pump situations and then suddenly we can see fall in prices to lower level to make profits. So any possible reason coule justify this sudden price surge.
LOL I see... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) You're buying the Peter Schiff theory... Don't you think it's just some FUD? " Bitcoin’s recent sharp rally likely had nothing to do with China, or any fundamental factor. It clearly looks like market manipulation by whales looking to sucker in momentum buyers. By pumping up a technically weak market, they are able to dump more #Bitcoin at higher prices." " Bitcoin hodlers won't sell as they believe they'll get rich when #Bitcoin moons. Bitcoin whales get rich by selling now to realize their paper gains before a market crash wipes them out. The whales must make sure the hodlers don't lose faith and cash out so that they can cash in!" https://u.today/bitcoin-whales-are-selling-btc-before-market-crash-peter-schiff

To handle this, the tool was quickly rewritten to send single SendGrid API calls in batches of 1,000 addresses. We cancelled requests from accounts that (i) did not have two-factor authentication, (ii) were withdrawing to a previously unseen Bitcoin address, (iii) were submitted with previously unseen new IP address, and (iv) were made after the email address disclosure had occurred. As it became clear that several groups were working to collate BitMEX email addresses in order to attempt to compromise them, BitMEX engineers forced a password reset for all users with balances and without Two-Factor devices. Affected users were notified via email Enfin ils indiquent qu'on peut demander un changement d'adresse mail auprès du support BitMEX Support (contact here) is working shifts with extra agents, continuing to handle customer requests to change email addresses, answer questions, and provide security assessment and advice. It was not immediately understood that the API call would create a literal concatenated “To:” field, leaking customer email addresses. As soon as we became aware, we immediately prevented further emails from being sent and have addressed the root cause. BitMEX is a company that takes engineering seriously, and we are disappointed that this lapse in care has resulted in unwanted disclosure for our customers.

People are also exposed to volatility when they trade with leverage. Everyday people are liquidated because of volatility.
What I meant option prices are dependent on volatility, while futures prices are not. If Bitcoin is trading at 10,000 a future price is the same when volatility is at 20% or when it is at 80%. The same is not true for options. If Bitcoin is trading at 10,000 option prices (all of them) will be lower when volatility is at 20% compared to prices if volatility were at 80%. Volatility is adding another risk factor to options trading. Same for all the others factors I mentioned (time etc...) You're free to take into account the IV and Theta, or not. It's only the extrinsic value, but at the end of the day your option will only worth its intrinsic price. So if you think an option is overvalued compared to its final value, you're free to not buy it and if you think it's undervalued you're free to buy a good opportunity. Trading options can be as simple as that.

You don't need those costly equipments. You've never given a key to someone else with funds on it?
Have you ever received a key that was supposed to have funds on it and paid for it without checking? You're telling me that in a country on the brink of failure with no internet access you're going to deal with private keys based only on trust? Seriously, let's be real here. If I would have ever done this kind of deal the first thing would be to empty the address that belongs to that key, send the funds to a secure address wait for confirmation and only then pay the guy. Only dishonest people will do that, and it's exactly the same thing when you do or give something to someone for a delayed payment. Your client could never pay you. It's also the same thing when you receive a cheque.
