Does the stratum proxy work ok on a 3g connection? I need to move my equipment and the new place doesn't have any wired internet.

Im not sure. Can anyone help out?

Nope sorry. It probably dependa on the hashingpower behind the proxy anyway. This might be interesting though.

 https://github.com/pooler/rollproxy

A proxy to reduce getwork requests and thus bandwidth usage.

How much bitcoin do you think i need to start mining?

I made a calculation earlier about how profitable cloudmining is. The same can be said for buying hardware with the additional problem that the hardware has to be shipped, set up and might be faulty (from time to time). If you just want to mine as a hobby and not to earn money you could buy some cheap 1st or 2nd gen ASICs or mine alts with your GPU/CPU.

Ps. What's improving someone's trust? Can someone explain how this forum works?

Since this has not been answered yet.

#1 you click on someones name, which shows their profile
#2 at the bottom is trust, which opens the trust page [1]
#3 at the bottom of that page you can leave positive or negative feedback. Its intendet for trading, but I occasionally use it to remind myself that I dont want to deal with certain people here. There is a lengthy part about it in the unofficial faq [2] if you want to know more.

I don't think hilariousandco (or most of the other individuals in this thread, obvious trolls excluded) are sexist. But I do think the line is often drawn in the wrong place, in a place that makes Bitcoin seem like a nerdy-guys-only club, and that will benefit nobody in the end.

I think most are not even aware of the sex- and racism in their language or "normal" behaviour.

Escrow Accepted!

How is that going to work without you knowing the private key?
8891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain on: September 17, 2014, 04:48:02 PM
you can use the torrent

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=145386.0

or my node: 213.165.91.169

which offers 100MBit from germany. Make sure you use it as the only node* you are connected to the ensure its the sync node. Zvs might also appear and offer some other IP addresses from different areas.

* IIRC you need to delete peers.dat and start with -listen 0 -connect=213.165.91.169 -maxconnections=1

This is not a trade, this is not a loan request, its just a questions in "beginners and help".
-snip-

Not that it would be smart or even normal behaviour to demand a picture of the person selling a good or requesting a loan. Anyway I think this thread perfectly answers the question by OP.

Unfortunately, this is way in most internet forums, and especially in BCT.  9 out of 10 (being generous here) posters that have female monikers usually are out to scam other posters, by preying on the weak and impulsive.

You act like you had no control over your post. You are not part of the solution you are part of the problem by enforcing those "god given" rules, which makes you sexist and thus -at least in my eyes- untrustworthy. Apparently you are not able to make up your own mind, but follow "the internet". Yet the internet is not a singular thing, but something each and everyone of us can change as long as we are part of it.

Nothing sexist at all in being safe and smart.

Beeing smart would be to assume nothing. This is not a trade, this is not a loan request, its just a questions in "beginners and help". How is demanding prove for beeing female smart?

Check my trust for trustworthiness here in BCT.

I allready improved your trust, thanks.

WHOA WHOA WHOA, pump the brakes!  Never called anyone a hooker, you said that!

All I said you want to be trustworthy here in Bitcointalk, prove it.  Nothing sexist in that.  Moving on.....

As far as posting a pic, it proves who she says she is(if it's a she), and validates the identity, building more trust than if he/she's an anonymous, potentially harmful scammer.

Please improve your reading skills. You imply, which makes you sexist because in your worldview apparently a female has to "prove" beeing one or can be considered a scammer. You however for some reason dont have to prove "having balls". So, if YOU want to be trustworthy here in bitcointalk, prove it. Nothing sexist in that, according to you. Awaiting a picture.

inb4 I aint sexist but I compare you to the stuff I sold, implying you want to sell yourself.

insert appropriate gif here

Hey you sell yourself too!  Look at your signature line.   Tongue

At least I have balls to admit it.   Cheesy

I sell the space below the shit texts I write. You sell/sold hardware. Implying that a random female on the internet is a hooker does not result in you "having balls" but in you deserving to get your balls cut off.

Yea it starts with 'L' and its 52 characters.

Id try it with a local wallet like bitcoin core or electrum. Maybe the private key is correct but the software importing it is faulty.

Edit: I need to improve my reading skills, see comment by Danny below.
8899  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: The Bitcoin Limbo Game, 0.1 BTC REWARD on: September 17, 2014, 10:16:37 AM
What the hell? You gave me negative trust for posting that? You took that seriously!  Shocked

That is the first address which appeared in Block 1. And all it need is a little common sense that the only person who will knoe of bitcoin's existance at that time is Satoshi Nakamoto and may be some rich guys.

And do you know what a grin means?

Also the verification failed. then how did i present false credentials? Anyone could know that the address is not even related to that string.
And there was no intention to cheat.

See: https://blockchain.info/tx/0e3e2357e806b6cdb1f70b54c3a3a17b6714ee1f0e68bebb44a74b1efd512098

if u see the address in blockchain, u can see that it was recently active. So my claim of lost wallet is obviously false. I was only joking!

Just adding smilies does not make it a joke. Just because your attempt to cheat was amateurish does not negate the fact that you tried. Maybe your intent was different, but you might should have made that clearer. I certainly did not laugh and yes I tested your signature even though I was almost certain you are not satoshi.

Herzlichen Dank wieder mal.
