8881  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Goldshell CK5 for sale on: August 26, 2021, 11:35:56 AM
Hi, this is my first post, so I hope it`s in the good section.

I have Goldshell CK5 miner, want to sell it for 7000€. Miner is located in Dublin, Ireland (EU)

Didn`t mine at all thanks to "beautiful" China ban of mining. I`ve sent it straight from shop to farm, and farm send it back to me as soon as they did testing (they say it`s usual practice).
Now I`m stuck here with miner that`s not too profitable to me, considering electricity price in Ireland. Can`t find any farm, cuz it`s only 1 miner, so I`m out of luck there as well.
I`ve tested miner myself as soon as it arrived, works perfectly, hash rate is exactly how it supposed to be.

Also, hosting farm recommendation is very welcome. Because I`d more like to mine then to sell machine.

Have no idea how to ad pics or video, but I can make them per request, not problem at all.

So, in conclusion, farm recommendation or selling miner are 2 options I`m looking at.

Okay you are new. Most new sellers use an escrow guy like me. I charge 20 usd minimum and 1.5% if the gear is very expensive.  usually the buyer pays it.

Lets pretend you gear sells for 7000 euro ,shipping is edit 100 not 1000 euro, vat is whatever and my fee is 105 euro

so 7205  plus the vat gets sent to me the escrow.

seller ships the gear to buyer
buyer gets gear and has a 24-48 hour test time.
buyer says it is good
seller gets the euro usually in the form of BTC or LTC

my trust shows I have helped peopled doing this work for years.

I can fix it since you are a new seller.

here is a sale that shows a good photo

This is only the case with fans on board, no power supply no GPU cables and the seller is selling for 1400$? That's a waste of money for newbies cause I can buy 12gpu case at way lesser price than this, anyways thanks for sharing I'm sure big farm owners will love it 🤩

Deleted this since it is wrong comment.

At Sxemini thanks for bothering to read and comprehend.

Anyone with good gpus access will like this case.

If you can get the nvidia 3060ti

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-8gb-gddr6-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card-steel-and-black/6439402.p?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/255085522858?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/265285059412?

This case is really good.

the amd radeon 5700

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403105239192?

all would fit in easy and run well.

I especially like that it used a ssd to run smos. far better than a usb stick.

Is it worth the price of admission for the right guy yes.

What I like is you can run a beast in your garage and use 120 volts.

put in 5x evga 3090 ftw3 and 1 nvidia 3060ti.
you get just over 610mh burn under 1650 watts which a 20 amp 120 volt line can do.
run it in your garage. and it is not crazy loud.

So a guy that values a neat garage and wants to home mine can set it and forget.
610 mh today earns 610 x .701 = 42 bucks it would burn 40 kwatts or 6 bucks at 15 cent power.

it clears just over 35 a day.  So yeah a big mine with access to lots of gpus would want it.

But it is quiet I will film a video today showing the item running.

I just finished a temp setup on a wire rack in my garage.
This case would allow me to mine 700 mh quietly and take almost no space.
2 of them would all me to mine 700 mh + 620 mh = 1.32gh that would take 1x 30 amp 240 volt circuit  about 4kwatts for the two rigs.

When I show the setup tommorrow you can see a garage miner may want these.

Winter is not far

my power drops from 16 cents to 13 cents in the house.
I can use the heat.
I may run 2 rigs the whole winter.
I have to assess all my gpus and figure if I want more of these cases.

97.30 kwatts at midnight
99.35 kwatts at 1 am
so it burns 2 kwatts

I can supply 12 kwatts to the garage but it get hot even in the winter.

I can do 3 of these rigs in the winter for sure which is 6 kwatts. maybe 4 of them

I checked my card inventory and

I do have 12 msi 5600 cards I think they could fit in the case. would do 12 x 37 = 444 and maybe 1200 watts
8883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Litecoin ever reach $1k? on: August 26, 2021, 03:54:24 AM
Doge/Ltc merge mine. = fact

new L7 miner is 19x the hash and only 4x the power used of an l3+

So either Doge/Ltc will moon soon due to the new gear or they will crater.

No one mentions that the scrypt algorithm is way back by asics and now with the L7 will increase its asic backing.

Also more than twenty five posts before anyone mentions Doge.

So second biggest asic pow algorithm. check
it rival in the algorithm merge mines with them. check
huge new gear coming. check

Yeah I think dollar doge and 1000 dollar ltc by jan 1.

Well meandering along for months at a time seems ideal for us miners.

I will hope for a more level jump this time maybe 3-6%

slot 11 has the kingpin and the large radiator zip tied to the case.
along with the other added cooling fans

nice shot of radiator it is huge and was done more for fun and to see if the psu's can hand six 3090's and a 3060ti

there will be an evga 3090 ftw3 in that slot and the case will have 5 of them and the 1 3060ti

but for now lets play around  Grin

top view of case
36 inches by 16 inches by 8 if closed.

I will do a few videos later in the week.

This build at retail would be more  then 14k

6x 3090 = over 12,000
1x 3060ti fe = 400
1 case = 1400 plus shipping

13800 plus the shipping

it is doing about 705mh and burning maybe 1900 watts or maybe 50 kwatts a day

so 705 x 7 = 49.35- 5 = 44.35 profit if eth pays 7 cents an mh and you have 10 cent power.

44.35 x 320 = 14192

320 days to pay it off if every thing is flat.

Love the case.

wish I had 12 of those 3060ti fe cards

I would drop them in this case and get 55 x 12 = 660 mh for 1600 watts

case would be sealed and you could do a ton of hash on a simple 4 foot wide 5 shelf rack like this one.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/311864355012?

5 rigs and a pdu.

about 9-10 kwatts and 3.5gh

Since I was playing around I actually did a riser to slot 2 . slot 1 has the nvidia 3060ti fe style from the omen pc slot 3 has an evga 3090 FTW3 Ultra

My gigabyte 3090 gaming card is riser mounted atop a maple board sitting on the 3pack psu this gpu gets hot ram so it is not case mounted. When I get my other evga 3090 ftw3 cards I will alter the case.. This shows the 3 slots 1 + 2 + 3  nicely.

this photo shows slots 3,5,7,9,11

3   = evga 3090 ftw3
5   = evga 3090 ftw3
7   = evga 3090 ftw3
9   = evga 3090 ftw3
11 = evga kinpin hybrid

from miner dude sales thread.
Okay been busy they came a few days ago.

They are big units and heavy .

Very solid case not thin shit.

The 3 psu's are bridge/balanced so all jacks are interchange able.

He supplies 3 hp 1200 platinum psu's

used gold with the black jack are 75 bucks.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/294353631519?

used plat are 130

https://www.ebay.com/itm/224577138140? his look new and new they are costly over 500 for 3 new ones.

so 3x 130 = 390

plus the bridge that allows interchangeable pcie cables.

has to be 30 or more

420

case is very solid at least 150

570

mobo is hard to find I sourced some barebones ones early in the year at 260 each and these have custom attachments to the rig.

830.

some ram 20

850

cables 70

920

ssd 20

940 in parts could get you a close knock off case, but good luck sourcing them all and designing it to fit as well as these do.

This case can do 120 volts and 2700 watts

or 230 volts and 3600 watts.

My goal is a five card evga 3090 ftw3 build.

it will pull about 1500 watts and do 560-580 mh.

I started the build with 3 cards

17.61 kwatt is my meter  at 11:34pm

since the case has five good  fans it will pull at least 950 watts for 3 cards

what is nice is if you have 120 volt power this rig can do 5x 3090's

If I could source  the 3060ti fe

that come in the  hp omen pc this rig could do 10 of them maybe 11 or 12.

10 for sure as the 3060ti fe in the omen are thin.  they would be the best card for this rig.

the 3070 fe also in the omen and the Alienware desktops are good for doing 10 or maybe 11,12 in this rig.

The spacing is good for 2 slot gpus.  amd 5700 blowers would be good.

But I am going with fat evga 3090 ftw3 cards since I can get them. I have a fourth coming tomorrow.

I will photo this build and do a video.

My consideration for my review was a decent discount on the 2 units. maybe 20-25% off retail.

I will point out all good and all weakness in the unit.

I will tell you now:

If I could get 30 evga 3090 ftw3 at retail I would buy four more of these cases and build six 5 card rigs.

If I could get 60   3060ti fe cards like the ones in the omen desktop .  I would buy 4 more of these and build six 10 card rigs.

meaning I like the gear a lot.

11:34 pm 17.61
12:34 am 18.64.

means it pulled 1.03 kwatts. a longer reading will be more accurate also using  4 or 5 evga 3090's and maybe 1 nvidia 3060ti fe from a hp pc will get it to be more efficient as the 5  case fans will pull the same for 3 cards or 5 cards. say 90 watts  for the 5 of them.

edit

at

8:34 am 9 hours in

kwatt meter reads.

So I added 1 evga 3090 and 1 nvidia 3060ti
so 4 3090's and 1 3060ti
rig is doing 500 mh

Build can be closed and is very neat with 5 or 6 cards.

4x 3090 1x 3060ti

or

5x 3090 1x 3060ti

but I fucked around

And I squeezed in every 3090 I have 6 of them and the 1 3060ti.

so it does about 705mh and uses about 1800 watts

6x 3090 1x 3060ti

doing 705-710mh and about 1800-1900 watts

the 705-710 hash is 300 more than my old
1080ti rig. which could do 410

For big cards this is maxed and I can not close the lid.

I will photo it and  shoot a few videos on you tube.
8889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Minerdude 12 slot case review. on: August 26, 2021, 01:45:12 AM

I grabbed 2 of these from miner dude.

https://minerdude.com/product/pre-order-minerdude-x12-xtreme-12-gpu-smart-mining-rig-pre-order-delivery-late-aug-early-sept/

This is a promised review. I received a discount on my 2 cases around 20-25%.

First off they are big sturdy units. 12  3x space slots.

They would be god like for 12x amd 5700 blower cards.

But I do not have 12 x amd 5700 blower cards.

So I was going to build 5x 3090 evga 3090 and 1 x 3060ti FE style edition puled from an omen pc.

After playing around. I decided to squeeze in every 3090x in my house and the 3060ti fe card.

So it is a 7 card rig. and since one of the cards was a kingpin 3090 with a huge water cooler I knew this first build was going to be open case.

To the op ignore every thing written above. That sounds harsh I know but

The first answer to your question should be the question do you have a watt meter?

I can not stress how important having a watt meter is , Everyone mining steady should have one to get an idea of the watts used.

That's not bad advice but perhaps overkill for just one rig.

I recommend don't try to push the limits and leave lots of headroom.

If you're building a farm then a watt meter is an essential tool.

One other thing to consider is different algorithms use different amounts of power. If you ever decide to
mine a different alrorithm it could overload the PSU if it's already near the limit.

yeah but in his case he has a 750 watt psu. and may or may not need to get an 850 watt psu.

15-20 for the meter to really know what is up is cheaper than 150 -175 for a 850 watt psu.

or a bridge and a second 750 watt psu.

You only need run the meter 20 minutes a few days in a row to know if you are close to the edge.

2FA isn't intended to protect you, it's intended to protect them. Using SMS to send them just
opens another attack vector. I don't use by cell phone for anything secure, 2FA is sent to my
landline. It may be less convenient but I won't trade security for convenience.

Yeah not a fan of smart phones at all.

Should I be worried about my holdings on Coinbase?

https://www.techradar.com/news/coinbase-customers-up-in-arms-after-hackers-drain-crypto-wallets

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/24/coinbase-slammed-for-terrible-customer-service-after-hackers-drain-user-accounts.html

It looks like it only (potentially) impact folks that use 2FA over SMS as the hack involves SIM swapping to intercept SMS messages.  In other words, if you use Google Authenticator when logging into CB, you should be ok.

from 2016 to 2021

11000 complaints .

68 million customer.

11,000/68,000,000

means 1 in 6200 customers filed a complaint.

Most are over a sims hack.

and if you have more than 1000 usd worth on your coinbase they tell you do not use sims.

the worst case was 168k

why have 168k and uses sims to protect it? when sims hacking has been around for years.

Buy this meter or one like it. Since I do not know what country you are in buy the meter that works for your country.

The meter I show is for the USA.

https://www.amazon.com/Electricity-Monitor-Voltage-Overload-Protection/dp/B07DPJ3RGB/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?

plug the meter into the wall.  plug the psu into the meter.

If you read 550 watts some 750 watt psu will die off.

Some won't.

If you read 650 to 750 watts most every ATX psu will die in less than a year.

A pair of 5700 can pull 245 at the wall
a pair of 1660ti can pull 180 at the wall
a well done mobo can do 50 at the wall

so if running this on the best settings maybe it pulls 475 watts.

If you do linux and only mine with the unit  you can do under 500 watts on a plat/gold psu

but doing 600 on a bronze with shit settings is easy and bad to do.

I won't even get into windows allowing run away watts.  the settings drop and the cards do full power not common but it does happen

It was you responsible for this whole BTC dippening matter.     Angry Angry Angry Angry

Damned Philip..

Can you just stop jinxing the BTC price performance from now on?

We would prefer that things (including BTC price UPpening) can go better for us HODLers?

 Roll Eyes

...

I AGREE.

April to Now has been fine for miners, but it has to have been hard on buy and stack investors.

I did nicely mining and have some stacked so that a blast to 100k+ means I will sell pieces at:

 55k
 60k
 65k
 70k
 75k
 80k
 85k
 95k
100k
and more if we go there.

The shed is in place. I  Paid it off.
We may rent 1 room behind a barber shop.
Do some builds there and a bit of mining.
Got more stuff on the plate than I can eat.
So let the buy and hodl guys have fun from now till mid spring.

So a nice rocket to 100k and beyond would be cool.

You are NOT going to find me proclaiming that "mining is the way to go," but it really does seem that the whole hash/difficulty drop in the past several months have been super great for those miners who were already set up with relatively decently efficient operations (and you seem to have been one of them), so you ended up getting decently great wind-falls from the so much shenanigans in the space - and even the BTC price run up that came before the dropping hash/difficulty issues was likely another bonus (even though not specifically to miners in that case).

Our recent recovery of hashpower/difficulty over the past 3-4 difficulty periods should have brought a pretty decent amount of confidence back to concerns that China might have been putting themselves in a place to attack the bitcoin network, but instead Bitcoin's hashpower is likely showing that they were higher levels of incompetent dweebs than the theories about possible attack on bitcoin would have shown them to be..

Can table some of those ideas about possible attacks (China or whatever), at this point, and just appreciate that the hashrate/difficulty has been going back UP.  Lovely... lovely.

Mining sucks in general.

If I simply purchased DCA in 2012 and held I would be a millionaire.

Although If I did dca from August 2012 to Sept 2013 I am pretty sure I would have cashed out too quickly in Oct 2013.

I have been a tinkerer more than anything else. I saw mining as a way to get good gear as a discount. I never imagined the beauty of BTC until fall of 2017.

So from 2012 to 2017 was a learning curve.  I came to believe in BTC during this time.
2018  to fall of 2020 was a mining version of buy and hodl.
Spring of 2021 to now has been cool I will finally do okay and maybe in 3-4 years time become a BTC millionaire.

But fuck look at one of my old addresses

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

I handled a lot of coin from 2012 to 2017
I just had no idea what BTC would grow to.
I gave away 10btc from 2014 to 2016 during the diff contests.

Then all of a sudden holy fuck this is a real thing.

Ah no use crying over spilt milk.
At least I do some hodl and stack now.
