8901  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting your own alt account for non abusive reasons on: August 24, 2021, 05:05:39 PM
Could just be me, but looking at everyone who has posted here:

[snip]

I have seen enough of everyone's posts and participation that if anyone so far sent me PM from their main account that said
"Can you do me a favor and merit a post of my alt account so I can send more PMs"
I would just do it,
By just providing their name using their alt account?
I believe what the OP is saying is that, creating alt account if it happens that he travel of out the city and for security reason he doesn't want to use his main account on the public network or computer.
No one will merit such an account cause it could be an impersonator except a close friend on the forum which the OP and she have a mode of talking language which she could use to identify that it was her.

If you look at the history of my main account and my cellphone account I made it pretty clear that I was in control of both accounts.

Specific to let people  know what I was doing.

I have to be fairly careful about the main account as if is super trusted and has done large escrow deals for people.

You simply do not want to walk about with a cellphone that has access to it.

It tough to follow ethical rules and principles, but I effort to do that.

Even doing that I still have a few people here that don't care for me.

But if you read the main account trust for me it is really good for over 8 years.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=64507

Internet can be difficult to get along and or do the right thing.

Op has a legit question.

Most do not show the alts  they have clearly.

philipma1957cellphone = me.    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2664833

philipma1957laptop = me.         https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2625746

I did one a while back in like 2014

But I can't find it any more something like

philipma1957 on vacation.

That was greeted with a lot of skeptical people but I said no worries I will not do business and be home in six days. I will than okay this account.

pre merits a very different time and place.

8902  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Helium Hotspot Bobcat Miner - Ships Same Day on: August 24, 2021, 04:30:11 PM
So if I order direct and pay 419 + shipping it is about 0.009 btc or 430usd

You want 0.0438 or about 2146 usd plus some shipping

I can find these on ebay for 2450 to 2600 even 2900

this guy below wants 2900 or best offer.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/234096022854?

So 2146 is a fair enough price. Compared to ebay prices.

But it does represent a nice profit for you.

I have one on order due in 3-11 weeks.

I ordered it June 30.

Part of my email below:

"Congrats Philip,

Your payment has been received and your order has been confirmed- now leave the rest to us.
Expect your order to ship within 12-20 weeks. We’ll send you a shipping confirmation with your tracking number as soon as the order goes out.
Thank you for your support. "

So I am looking at Sept 21 (12 weeks ship time)  to  Nov 16 (20 weeks ship time).

Good luck with the sales.

I fixed the photo for you
8903  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 24, 2021, 04:17:18 PM
I jinxed the bull market when I predicted 70k by may.

back in april..

It was you responsible for this whole BTC dippening matter.     Angry Angry Angry Angry

Damned Philip..

Can you just stop jinxing the BTC price performance from now on?

We would prefer that things (including BTC price UPpening) can go better for us HODLers?

 Roll Eyes

...

I AGREE.

April to Now has been fine for miners, but it has to have been hard on buy and stack investors.

I did nicely mining and have some stacked so that a blast to 100k+ means I will sell pieces at:

 55k
 60k
 65k
 70k
 75k
 80k
 85k
 95k
100k
and more if we go there.

The shed is in place. I  Paid it off.
We may rent 1 room behind a barber shop.
Do some builds there and a bit of mining.
Got more stuff on the plate than I can eat.
So let the buy and hodl guys have fun from now till mid spring.

So a nice rocket to 100k and beyond would be cool.
8904  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: August 24, 2021, 12:58:05 PM
A lot of big publicly traded mining corps announced big increases in capacity, maybe they are receiving shipments on the regular from bitmain.

Or they sourced the older gear that was shut off in bulk.
Hard to tell.

Chips still seem short in general.

I had to go seven stores to source an in stock smaller microwave. So supply line issues abound.

I got a 700 watt ge model at an okay price after looking for the better part of a day in Nassau county New York.

Yeah the top of the line units could be had but all the small low cost models were no where to be found.

So with about a day to go a solid jump in diff.

17.6 to 17.8 looks likely.

so 25.03/17.8 = 1.4x factor.  1.4 x 49k = 68.6 k

so for miners next jump is as if we were are 25.03 diff and price of 68.6k if you are 100% fiat guy.

I will be very interested in seeing if  the aug 25- sept 8 moves up over or under 5%

Along with the price move.

We are very much unfolding like Aug - Sept of 2017 if true man oh man there will be some very good times ahead.

Take care of your body.
Dont get hammered every day.
Eat decent food most of the time.

Find a solid lover and have tons of sex as it will give the two of you good reason to take care of your body.

+1 WOsMerit

Make the food and the rest excellent rather than decent most of the time and live almost forever?

My late dad would say 80 sounds good until you are 79.

At 64 my goal is to top the oldest male relative I know about he made it to 93.  So I am shooting for 94.

I want to still be having fun with the wife for the next 30 years.
8906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for good speculative coins to mine on: August 24, 2021, 12:45:44 AM
I am using a s15 and mining ⛏ xec.

In your case just mine eth and split it into:

cash
btc
xec

I assume you have a gpu or two to do it.

I got in on xec at

0.00002322 usd.

it is now

0.00008123 usd.

I advise anyone to do this when they ask for a spec coin.

NFT's ?

Ah yes I hear rocks are the hot thing now.  about as useful as all the other NFT stuff.  I still don't get buying a PNG image, fight me.

You're not buying a PNG image, you're buying the hash of a PNG image. You're right to not get it. We can still fight if you'd like.

This is a nice pun. I gave it a merit.

I also gave his below  a merit:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg57768931#msg57768931

not sure if he did a great pun with tremendous dry wit it would have topped your pun 😊 or like myself he simply doesn’t get it.

Escrow here with a good escrow guy like my self.

Means the seller is at risk for a return for the 1 or 2 day test period.

Escrow on ebay means seller can be subject to 6 month clawback returns.

I have a really good escrow rating read my trust.

I work with buyer and seller when there are issues.

I am an honest guy.

The op of this thread 🧵 wants to do the deal without escrow.

So basically I would not buy it from him here I would buy it from him on ebay. He offered the info he has it on ebay.

Maybe he can share the ebay listing.

Not surprised this thread is been attracted (thread with similar content always get attacked) but I'm surprised the attack isn't related to your topic of creation but your previous topics why is that?
It only shows to me that my threads are of interest to many users, I have to put more effort to be effective, and also keep learning and making learners mistake to give room to my critics.

You have gotten quite a number of merit in the shortest time of you been active and I have just contributed only 12  (that's poor from my end as your posts most have been of quality to get such amount of merits).
The attacks have also made your attention hit my posts which you felt are under merited by you. I see every attack as a blessing in disguise.

Differentiate the advice from the envy, take the advice and work on them.
This is actually the way to go, the advice is loudable and surpasses envy. I actually got nothing for anyone to envy. I believe my best days are far ahead in this forum. This is just my learning stage.

Having said all that, to learn some forum skills, you can reach out to those that already have such skills. Hhampuz can testify to how many times I reach out to him for guidance because I always wanted to be a manager. My post back then revolved around having the best signature experience on the forum while learning and still been a productive users. No harm in reaching out, do so now <wink>.
Thanks sir!
Since I joined this forum, I have always been afraid of using the PM, because I don't know the rules guiding the use of PM, and that is why I have much exposed my weakness to the public and some are willing to ride on them against me.

I like your posts feel free to pm me if you have a question.
8913  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits on: August 23, 2021, 10:17:42 PM
I think it could be argued that generally, legendaries are more likely to be posting better content, but without going through each post, that would likely be hard to accurately predict.

Apart from the fact that legendaries are more likely to be good content posters, let us consider this;
The merit sources who also are more of legendaries have been here for a long time. They have been meeting one another here for many years, apart from the content of the posts, they have falling inlove with the writing patterns of one another, their tones, how humorous, commanding or entertaining they will be. So, meriting such posts becomes a habit, most times without paying attention to the contents.

That is adaptation, a strong human character you cannot undermined. For the newbies or low ranking members to have such a share, they must last longer here and develop a unique writing style lovable by many.

Secondly, the law of reciprocation is indirectly playing out. Merit seems to flow to those who has the ability and enablement to reciprocate. A Merit source can easily give out 50merits to a legendary fellow, knowing too well that it is cyclical, re-genaratable and reciprocal.

Finally, I believe merit sources do not give higher merits to lower ranking members because they believe they may abuse the smerits they will have as a result of the given merits. It's somewhat showing that the merit system works in conjunction with the trust system. If you are trusted, you are trusted with merits too. Knowing too well you may not play the hide and seek game with your alt on merit issuance.

I am of the opinion that lower ranking member(s) who is able to produce a few quality posts, can be trusted and has a decent history of smerit allocation should benefit evenly because they are the future of bitcointalk.
Thank you!

I gave this 3 merits it was good.
I dont give high merits to legends as they most likely dont need them.

I prefer giving guys like you 3-6 merits.

Lower ranked.
Not new.
Well written quality posts.

In fact when I find a good post from someone that ticks the boxes above I often will read all their posts.
End up 🆙 giving 3 or 4 merits a few times.
8914  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 23, 2021, 09:57:55 PM
Down over 1% in the last 12 hours. Not looking good for bulls.

Bro, you are seriously making me nervous. I do not have enough fiat to buy more coin for the amazing pump you are predicting

Not me bro I am glad I sold a piece at 50k.

I jinxed the bull market when I predicted 70k by may.

back in april.

I was happy 😃 to get over 50 and make a sale.

In fact if we get back to 50 this month I will sell more.

Remember that my primary way to get btc is mine.
so i buy at quite a discount.

Ie one btc cost me 50% full value.

So I sell pieces at higher levels but still stack coins.

Dashboard update
- Clickable top summary filters. When you have switch set to „all” and you click on offline, paused rigs or alerts, then you rig list will set those filters in your riglist. When you have switch set to „filtered” then clicking on those icons will ADD filters without removing current ones
- in bash command you can now write direct code without converting it to base64

Am I ever going to get a day light option for the dashboard.

I have been with you since 2016.

I struggle with the dark setting it is very hard on my eyes.

I simple do not understand why you only offer 1 setting

{ dark }

and not 2 settings

day and night.

BTW you are not the only company doing this as I type I am fighting with multiple websites over dark only settings.

It is simply a wrong thing to do.

We are approaching buddies next number.

Would be nice to see some solid lifting.

maybe 51k and 52k for monday.

next poll

35k or 70k?

I sold a bit at 50k+

Still stacking and selling less than I mine.

Dumping all the

LTC
Doge
Eth

That I mine
 for fiat and Btc.

Working on a family emergency 🆘.
My bro-in-law had a heat stroke and was hospitalized with failed kidneys.
It will take quite a while to fix all the problems involved.
Maybe no true fix as long term care seems to be likely.

As an older guy 64 here is free advice from me.

Take care of your body.
Dont get hammered every day.
Eat decent food most of the time.

Find a solid lover and have tons of sex as it will give the two of you good reason to take care of your body.

Over the years of life I can tell you no drug or alcohol 🥃 matches a solid night in bed with your lover.

toss some solid hash at them for a while.
I wouldn't mind throwing a yottahash at mmpool or two. However, how can we be sure that the mmpool admin still notices when we find a block?
Someone point me to some kind of proof-of-life of user "mmpool", please?

I sent an email to mmpool and asked for a post at this forum to confirm we still have active support.

cheers,

yeah good idea. As i have been pointing hash here for a long time.

I am in fourth place on the stat page.
8920  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting your own alt account for non abusive reasons on: August 23, 2021, 11:33:08 AM
Get someone else to Merit your alt, that's what happened to Maggiordomo when Piggy didn't want to Merit his own alt-account to lift PM-restrictions.
That is isn't the ideal solution either. Asking someone to merit you isn't the way it's supposed to work and is also frowned upon.
I didn't say "ask" Wink
I sent Philipma1957cellphone enough Merit to wear an avatar (which they aren't using now anyway) because I know it's not a spammer. I have no problem Meriting any other alt from an established user when I see it.

Newbies have a PM limitation of only 2 PMs in a 24 hour period.
I think you're mixing things up: The PM-limit depends on Activity, not on Newbie-status. So a new account with Merit can still send only 2 PMs per day.

I would hate to lose a mobile phone and have some a-hole delete 100000 posts of other people.
If something like that were to happen and someone stole your account, your threads are safe as long as other people posted in them. You can't delete a thread containing posts of other forum members.
Philipma1957 created many self-moderated threads.

Yeah all the alt coin threads I think 9 of them are self modded.

They date back to 2016 and have a few thousand pages of posts.

I very rarely needed to delete any posts but I wanted the option to run good threads with out trolling.

I do not want them to get hurt.
