8901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Ethereum-based gambling sites? on: November 02, 2019, 06:44:40 PM
Ever since the Ethereum blockchain was created, many new and exciting things have surfaced within the Blockchain industry. Now it's possible to "tokenize" assets, bonds, and even in-game items. This has been so revolutionary that many dApps have emerged as gambling games which require no middleman at all. Gambling games that make use of the Ethereum blockchain, are often fairer than traditionally centralized ones.

As of now, there are many gambling sites that are entirely based off Ethereum. But, it's yet to be determined which one brings the most intuitive experience for even the most novice gamblers in the industry. Performance, and costs are key things to take into consideration when testing out different gambling solutions within the ETH blockchain. But this depends entirely on the platform itself.

Nonetheless, which are the best ETH gambling sites available today? Huh
Why anybody did mention Augur? I think it's the best ethereum-based gambling platform because it's fully decentralized and because it works on the ethereum blockchain as a Dapp. Moreover it's a cool feature to bet directly against other players and not against a house.
8902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: November 02, 2019, 06:35:14 PM
I don't believe that it is possible to win gambling games by reading some books or watching YouTube videos. Let me just put it in the real way. Gambling is a luck based game. There is no place for skills here. So far, the human race has failed to come up with the mantra that can be used to tame luck. Moreover, the house plays its own cards, making the win even more difficult. It is best to stay away from gambling.
Huh I don't understand. Why are you posting here if you are thinking that? Don't you know you are here in the gambling section? It would be more interesting for you to post in other sections no?
8903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to restrain yourself at a small loss and not spend money. on: November 02, 2019, 06:21:22 PM
It often happens that people go out to play a variety of games of chance with a certain amount of money, but in the end they spend everything if they are gone. How to prevent which technique you base yourself on to spend no further. It's hard to just give up, people persistent in gambling that day, so they can't just tell themselves they'll try tomorrow. Why is this difficult? Is it because of greed?
It's in fact mostly because they win. When you lose each time, you'll give up because you never win anything. You'll think it's just a losing game and move on. But when you win small gains from time to time, you'll go on.
8904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Often Do you Bet on Politics? on: November 02, 2019, 06:12:42 PM
Politics seems predictable most of the time but looks like few people actually bet on it. Example, you know Joe Bidden has probably 50% chance of winning the Democrats primary. What stops you from picking and betting on that? Do you bet on politics and what are your winning stats.

Some time around October 2016 after the Access Hollywood tape was released, a certain betting site gave 108 to Trump winning the election. I believed strongly that Trump was going to win despite everything thrown at him. I had $5,000 and wanted to pick the odd. Somehow, I didn't follow through. That could have given me over half a million dollars in winning.

How often do you bet on Politics? Any reason why most people don't really bet on Politics? Do you know any trusted betting site that offers good odds in American Politics?

This post makes me curious as i have never heard of political gambling. I feel finding the odds in politics is relatively easier and can help stay positive when gambling. I am not really sure about betting platform which deal in such portfolio of gambling but i will come back to this post when i come to know about one , maybe around next state elections in my country which are scheduled for next month
Augur, the decentralized gambling platform allow to gamble on politics with cryptos. Freebitcoin the famous faucet, is also offering bets on politics. But I think there are some others, so it would be great if you or someone else could list them here.
8905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The TRX Speculation and Info Thread on: November 02, 2019, 05:33:46 PM
Tron has done close to a 60% price increase since its 2019 low. If it goes back to its 2019 high, That would be between 150-200% roi. And things started to look good. I have a feeling that a strong uptrend is starting soon. That's why Tron is one of the few blockchains that I plan to build dapps on in the future. I'm bullish af on TRX from now till EOY.
I'm not sure about that, he lost 15% at least since its top price after the samsung announcement, so most of people sold the news, and very few bought it.
8906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What scares you the most? on: November 02, 2019, 05:25:42 PM
The scarriest thing that happen to me few years ago, I open my ethereum wallet using private keys, and Im really shocked seeing my wallet is empty. My wallet got hacked and the saddest part is the coin in my ethereum wallet is worth 1000$+.

If this will happen to me, I will blame myself, but only for a short period of time. Since the reason why it became hacked is not 100 percent caused by the platform, but by the human error. I believe that we do really commit mistakes. And what is the scariest part about it is not being hacked but not learning a lesson from the passed that we already been experience. In all of our actions there are lesson for us to carry.

I blame myself til now, my mistakes is i'm lazy securing my wallet and I thought it is secured website. But that incident happen and I already learned my lesson, I hope i can earn that much money again.
I'm sorry for your bad experience, but have you been able to find how the hacker stole your key/funds? Did he phish you with a fake page on the net?
8907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forget Bitcoin Halving! on: November 02, 2019, 05:16:46 PM
Sure anything positive in the crypto market like implementing a consumer app to pay Bitcoin for coffee purchase in Starbucks, will make a huge impact, specially with the price.
Huh, I wasn't aware that starbucks had announced that so thanks for the heads up.  I'm not sure how much of an impact that's going to have on bitcoin's price, tho.  Every other time some big retailer has started accepting bitcoin it hasn't exactly led to a long lasting price increase.

The halving is pretty important in my opinion, and probably more important than the starbucks news.  Bakkt had an impact on the price, but it's hard to tell if it was good or bad because there was a major swing since they launched.  In their first week or so the price crashed like $2000 but has since recovered.  Anyway, bitcoin's price might already have adjusted for the halving and if it hasn't then I'm not sure if it's going to see a significant increase.

I recall the last halving when bitcoin started to rise well before the actual event, and it could be the same this time.  It's hard to tell and I haven't read anything about it from economists or people who would know.
Cheesy So you really think there are people who are able to predict the price of Bitcoin several months in advance?  Huh  Cheesy
Who are these people? They should be the wealthiest people of the world...  Roll Eyes
8908  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-10-29] Lebanon’s Economic Crisis Highlights Bitcoin’s Limitations on: November 02, 2019, 05:03:21 PM
It is alright to highlight bitcoin's limits because of a country's infrastructural problems.
I don't think it's alright.

It's like saying that Bitcoin is limited because you don't have electricity or an internet connection to transact. It only highlights the limitations of your local electricity provider's network and your ISP.
Moreover you don't need internet to use bitcoin, and you only need very few electricity to use a smartphone or an old mobile phone. That's enough to use Bitcoin. And it's not difficult to generate enough electricity to load a smart/mobile phone.

8911  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitmex snet an email with CC to own customers. Hundreds emails exposed. on: November 02, 2019, 08:47:02 AM
There was an e-mail sent to my email yesterday regarding of this issue.
The title of the e-mail is Statement on the Email Privacy Issue Impacting Our Users.
 .
The e-mail was sent has content about the the recent issue of bitmex which was the email addresses exposed.
There was also instruction how we can be safe of this issue like it was stated and much suggested to create a new account with new email address, setting up 2FA, etc.

I also got curious when they give some link to their website especially to the register page, there is a referral link embedded to the e-mail was sent. That's why I started to think it this e-mail is not legit
Thank you for having reported it here. For the beginners, be careful domain names like "@bitmex-explained.com" etc aren't legit, the only true one is "@bitmex.com"
8912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Leaked information. Are we really safe at all? on: November 02, 2019, 12:03:59 AM
If you take all the neccessary steps like 2FA, email and phone number verification in your Bitmex account, I don't think you have anything to worry about, personally my email address was also compromised but I have no worries at all because it would take a great hacker indeed to have access to my email or Bitmex account, just be security cincious especially when it comes to your funds irregardless of whether your email address was leaked or not, but if it makes you feel any better, you can simply open another Bitmex account with another email that is not known by anybody.
Phone number verification? Where it is? Are you really sure we can do that on Bitmex?  Huh I've never heard about it before.

Chapeau bas !

https://twitter.com/TheCrypt0Mask/status/1190229232288448513

Trezor Bitcoin ExplorerYes (11/2019) ? (11/2019)7.5 / 10 PointsThe only one with Blockchair to manage zpub keys

@1miau you say btc.com identifies segwit addresses just because "witness" is written in the tx input scripts? If it's only for this reason, it's almost the same for Trezor explorer, it displays the scripts and you can find this kind of thing "txinwitness".
8916  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers on: November 01, 2019, 08:22:24 PM
I'm sorry but my favorite one is not mentioned in your list.
Personally I like using https://btc1.trezor.io/ because it manages zpub keys. So it's more convenient for tracking the transactions of your segwit wallet.

8918  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitmex snet an email with CC to own customers. Hundreds emails exposed. on: November 01, 2019, 07:59:44 PM
The passwords weren't leaked. However, there has been a lot of database hacks and your leaked e-mail address could be listed in one of these. Be sure to check here if your information has been posted:
https://haveibeenpwned.com/

The biggest danger in your e-mail address being leaked is you being listed in one of the other websites database when it got hacked. Even if you weren't part of this e-mail, it wouldn't hurt to go and check yourself out on Have I been Pwned. Don't use the same password on every site and you should probably be fine. However, you will probably be receiving spam e-mails for different crypto products now.
I agree haveibeenpwned.com is already up-to-date with the bitmex leak, I found my bitmex email address there. It's already listed in 2 explicit files on the clear net. One file of 6000 email addresses and the other one of 7000.
8919  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Leaked information. Are we really safe at all? on: November 01, 2019, 07:37:00 PM
Though probably expect a barrage of emails from scammers and referral link spammers(like you just received) so it'd be a good idea to change your email address/alias.
Unfortunately changing your email address on Bitmex will not stop the spam, it's just too late. Your address is now listed in the files of the spammers/scammers and they exchange them on the darknet.
In fact the list is even available on the clear net. I won't paste the url of the file here but you can check if your email address has been leaked on https://haveibeenpwned.com/

I disagree with your article from forbes, there are short squeezes and long squeezes almost every week but we've never seen such a pump before. +40% while we were in a bear market can't be explained by only TA and manipulations from whales. BTC price was just undervaluated and people got FOMO.
