8941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling in the crypto market on: July 04, 2018, 06:59:20 AM
How can gambling be beneficial for anyone? All those who have got enough experience in gambling and we call them experts, on quitting their games and this tenure, they always advice not to go near this gambling thing. They better know how badly it is detrimental for anyone who comes near it. They have been victim of it so they don’t want anyone else to be one of such losers.

Its a past time, dont try to take it too serious and it can be beneficial in some ways.    Most people think drinking beer is sensible when its expensive and also costly to your health.    Neither is that terrible in some moderation.
There is some skill with some games of gambling, I dont see its really that negative if not taken as more then a simple distraction.  The problem is when people expect results like its a serious subject for them and also borrow money to gamble is poor, spend what you have spare and its not really such a big deal.
8942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price jump - Is this a bullish sign? on: July 04, 2018, 06:40:30 AM
Is it a bullish sign, I guess its a positive but its probably just a short position being forced closed and a buyer bringing the price up.   Larger buyers tend to make the price jump like this and it shows as a rapid change.      Futures contract would just a written date to close a certain price.   So they will agree to sell BTC for 10,000 on 1st August maybe and some will speculate this is a good price to sell and are bearish on the underlying price.
Quite often the same trader might hold long and short contracts as I understand it, alot of it cancels each other out which would mean not a large influence on actual BTC sales over longer term.
8943  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 03, 2018, 07:09:54 PM
Bitcoin is still measured in dollars and not dollars in Bitcoin :/

Good point but I really dont think it will reverse order to that extent.  The follow up to USD reverse system based off political debt will be another form of FIAT currency operated by the IMF which is called SDR and the IMF does have some gold but this wont be formally linked either or even close to informally backed by reserves.   Politics will keep on operating or attempting to exert control of populations income and capital.

IMF also said they might operate an online version, the dollar is currently digital imo anyway so I dont see thats anything special really.

Anyway my point is I think it'll always be a mix of national currencies and possibly we see a rise in precious metals and also crypto is used more as well especially for fast transactions.  It wont be a great big switch on of crypto imo, they'll be competition between them all and upsets as one sector tries to undermine the others perhaps.

I think Australian dollar could rise alot, giant natural reserves not formally but just because their country is massive and they have few people and afaik not that much debt.   Any rise in commodities and trade relating world currency would favour such an economy.   I guess also Canada similarly but they have more debt, ties to this old system.    Ive never thought crypto will rise singularly.

Let's level with each other for a moment. Nick Szabo is Satoshi. It's an open secret.

My own personal take was the protocol for bitcoin even though its open source was designed and initially constructed by a group of people or at least keys were split up and shared to various wallets such that no one person had sole control.   Thats how I explain why the coins were never moved.   They had more invested in the success of their work then simply taking out the value which would have undermined it, splitting responsibility would be standard practise in software engineering procedure I think.

Its natural for the public to attribute success or the image of a new dynamic product to just one person like how Steve Jobs was Apple or whatever.   Sure important key people but I wouldnt presume it was just 1 person who decided its fate alone, Apple fired Steve Jobs if I remember right and I just think this Satoshi name thing is just like a reference or code name for the operation more then literally his inventors name or nickname even.  Could have been a women of course, the best cover.  I dont know if anyone has gone through each post and communique under his name and checked its duplicate in style.

This is why they do the introductory offer to test the system out some I guess, seems fair even the biggest companies need revisions to a system to refine it.    I'm able to sign and be in the account but also I'm waiting for the confirmation email to arrive so I can confirm my balance and the bonus is there or not.    Maybe it doesnt like my address, I'll try another one shortly if no joy

My basic feedback on the layout would be good start but perhaps slightly more detail could be added.   Im a big fan of sites which are not too crowded or 'busy' but nice highlights will help

Right,  ok so we should just write off PewDiePie's followers list as a fluke and no one actually watches it.  Good solid marketing plan.  LMFAO.  And if you only have 100s of followers in 10yrs,  you're doing worse than anyone I've ever heard of.  Even I have 811 and I've only been doing it for less than a year and havent even been uploading anything.  The streaming is just something new recently.

I'm just drawing a parallel.   Pewdiepie wont have every follower watching his videos, the quality and depth he reaches his audience cant be presumed to be 100% every time the man makes a pronouncement.  People are more complicated then that, he dont have a puppet army clearly.

I dont know what percentage are still checking into his channel every week, I will venture a guess its way below 50%  If we say once a month maybe its like a third of his followers but I'm being super optimistic there imo     I kinda agree with you, you are new within the last year and got alot of people to follow so your % reach to a responsive audience is probably way better then the stone dead silence I have for many hundreds of followers who dont ever actually watch.     Over time those followers decay if not literally in an unfollow but they go silent, just dont watch any more maybe not even a live youtube account.  Sometimes people fake followers from the very beginning, the whole concept is very 'spongy'

Can David slay Goliath the giant here and beat the top youtube accounts, I believe so if they got that trending reach at that moment in time.  How people conjour up that magic, I dont know but I believe its feasible and probably a genuine skill to market yourself, the channel.   Also helps to know the audience for a video type, etc.

Me I just post crap on my channel that I like and want to keep a memory of so whatever, its just personal and occasionally someone else likes the video also and maybe a few thousand views happen or 100k if it trends, random
8946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin reach $100,000 dollar before the end of the year? on: July 03, 2018, 02:59:16 AM
I would be happy if we are above 10K.. 100k maybe end of next year

I'm fine with 10k.   I'm also fine with 5k and the reason is the long term stability just needs a steady price not the rise so much.  I realise we have speculators who want to see the higher price but its best if it just doesnt alter that much.   Partly that helps form contract prices and accuracy long term for any business plans, this then encourage business involvement and confidence in planning out a scheme of use for BTC.  More users, is bullish and helps long term price appreciation but its better if steady I think.

A price rising 10% every week represents volatility and in a way is a negative dynamic to long term users.    Traders on an exchange want to gain in price are not really users, they are the middle men of a sort with a purpose to provide liquidity.   But you cant build any solid project with a liquid backbone only so 100,000 would probably represent or describe some negative event.

100,000 is possible but only with a grand decline in US dollar index value I think.  So the price while positive would be describing a negative situation and breakdown of one part of the ratio the price describes.

My main bearish concern would be if 5k long term is a feasible operating price for miners or not.   Efficiency might become a key dynamic to describing blockchain protocols long term, this might be pivotal to prospects
8947  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in a triangle - Watch it closely on: July 03, 2018, 02:51:43 AM
If we break the channel upward, the next stop will be at 6.8k FIB resistance and then at the 7.2k FIB which may be coupled with the red resistance line from the big triangle we are since December.
If 7200$ is broken it will may end the downtrend that we face since the beginning of the year but we are not here yet!

If we don't break the current resistance, BTC will go back to 6.4k support.

IMO, i don't think that BTC will break 6.6k today but i would love to be wrong Smiley

It will take alot to break this declining trend from past months but if it breaks then I look for confirmation of the break and a more certain rise from that point.   The market likes to fake a breakout before then coming back in and resuming, maybe traders like to short and see it as a high risk reward scenario to do so.

The March 2017 trend I have literally drawn and left there since about last summer, maybe Autumn but not interfered this year because I figure its most accurate not to retrospect a view.   The way I drew that at that point is now overhead, maybe over the top of the June peak price

While these technical analysis are always nice to see, I wonder what the real benefit is by doing this. It is not a way to predict the market, because as the OP has stated in his post, we will or go down to +/- 7k or go up again depending on the market.

The point is there is no certainties but we can at least measure the high tide mark to the negative and positive trends and avoid some losses from predictable waves in the market
8948  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 03, 2018, 12:01:40 AM
I see a new daily bar above prior resistance or the April low however you see it.  Probably helps some, bullish.   Would a smart trader here presume volatility or doubt and set a buy to 6523 for a move to confirmation before much further rise, I will check in views of various traders on this move

Triple bottom on Platinum, must be a sign.

Do I understand you correctly that it will have the same ‘performance’ as Gold the last 5 years  Roll Eyes

Do I think that ?   no, I'm just observing and a very general opinion is all the precious metals will react to unstable global currency.  That does appear to a reasonable long term forecast, instability could also mean really poor finance ability for mines many of which fall short on funding even large billion dollar operations I see stumble.

Platinum when I say industrial to me that means it'll be very hard to predict, its tied into Car production and demand.  To some extent its also about technology, the petrol vs diesel vs electric fight going on.  It can also be held as a monetary asset but no I wouldnt place it next to gold.  The ratio between gold vs silver is often analysed as an indicator, then also Gold vs platnium means something too.  Gold vs oil is a massive one as the majority of mining operations are energy intensive and oil is related to global growth.   Heres a good website on this kind of interpretation: http://pricedingold.com/
also stockcharts.com will allow graphing of ratios.  Dow priced in gold etc.  Some say it'll go 1:1

8949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recovering ? on: July 02, 2018, 09:07:42 PM
'I hope it goes higher so I can sell it'      Kinda sad if thats the dynamic we are tracking, I hope bitcoin is more used so the price just rises naturally.    If we bubble up it just feels like it ends with more people believing its not reliable and they should just stick with dollars and all that hassle and cost rather then Bitcoin.

A recovery would be to avoid or repair previous flaws then led to decline previous.  If we improve, we can hope for a return of a positive trend.   Otherwise we are just in a spiral repeating and eventually I suppose in my thinking is this becomes destructive.   Speculation is fine but also I would speculate we are rising in Bitcoin users population and this is a true recovery but I need to read more on this to be 100% convinced.

How are Italy not qualified is the very strange thing but Iceland are, what is the world coming to :p   Is this PC equal opportunities or are Iceland the size of a city literally modern day vikings of football   Cool

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/nov/16/world-cup-2018-fans-holland-italy-ireland

Triple bottom on Platinum, must be a sign.    Always pays to diversify imo.  I dont believe platinum would ever be monetised for classical reasons, its industrial and also its distribution is not even around the world which makes it unsuitable longer term though it should still rise vs dollar depreciation.  Platinum will be worth more ten years from now then dollar or the dollar bonds in value terms.

BTC break about the 6500 area is a nice change from disappointing weakness.      6800 is the area I was told will prove important regarding the May 1st declining trend and also I would call 7340 for it to rest some should Bitcoin regain its legs and go for a bit of a run

How do you propose to beat someone with more youtube followers than god in 30 days?  Lol.
When I looked at it 2 minutes ago, there were 2 current viewers, 9 likes and 2 dislikes. Not that much of attention, considering it was published almost a month ago, so it doesn't really work for him.

Quality cannot be ascertained immediately in one number.  As a youtuber of ten years with hundreds of followers I'll admit that sadly about 2 of them view a video if that when I upload.   People follow and it really doesnt mean a ton long term, its quite a disposable platform not exactly where people reside like Facebook for example where you have a strong connection.   For whatever reason people dont always watch the channels they follow that often.

So yea its possible someone could beat a much higher follower youtube channel however unlikely it might seem.   I think youtube views are very trend based, its hard to say exactly how to capture that.  Sometimes its just the title you set or the picture frame used that gets peoples attention.     Its about as easy as walking a barrel down a river, hard to stay on top imho
8952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will esports gambling be explosive in the future like sports gambling? on: July 02, 2018, 06:19:50 AM
The explosion of World Cup gambling industry has  shocked me.

Along with the development of esprots game, will the esports (electronic sports like LOL, Dota, Counter Strike, HearthStone, Call of duty and so on) gambling be huge in the future?

Guys, what's your vision about the esports gambling business? I'm planning to devote myself into this field. Any advice or suggestion?

I think you are slightly behind the curve on this one.  Its already massive, has been for a while.   You can tell theres a fair amount of money available just from the possible prizes for these competitions, if that salary is there then you can have players dedicated to the sport.    More regular games come from proper assembled teams, building the possibility for opportunity on gambling stakes to do well.

I think there already is alot of esports gambling possible and some of the main stream firms have picked up an interest in it also.
8953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling is portrayed negatively almost everywhere? on: July 02, 2018, 06:16:10 AM
Because its a way for wasting money instead of making your money useful like spending it the right way. And gambling attracts greediness and all the negative things a gambler can do.

Everything is wasting your money compared to not spending it on anything.   Gambling is a past time that is actually more healthy then drinking alcohol or smoking which I believe are far popular.   Better people might use their brains some in calculating risk then spending that money on writing off your body parts
8954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Drops Below $6,500 on: July 02, 2018, 06:14:14 AM
glad to see bitcoin price stay at $6135 in this day and everything looks green in the market.

I drew in support in this area, it matches previous highs and is now the low before we get to 6,500 which is a bigger point of resistance over time.

8955  Economy / Speculation / Re: Triple bottom: yes or no on: June 30, 2018, 04:07:42 AM
I believe double bottom in a rough formation resembling a W shape is considered more reliable in resulting in a bullish move upwards.   Even when it occurs, the move up is in relation to the depth of the middle of the W section.   So not often massive but also it can be the start of a larger move.

For triple bottom its no longer a W shape but something more extended, I dont believe its as reliable in a positive outcome.    Repeated testing of a bottom can cause a breach which requires further support to be found.   FOr bars I think at least 4hr to confirm below the support to acknowledge its been passed

Here I think this action yesterday morning was quite bullish.   It fails to hold down, just 5 minute bars here.   We didnt rise but then traded sideways in a range.   Now recently we have the bullish move upwards but it built from this initial test I think.    Hard to say on our longer term triple bottom test

8956  Economy / Speculation / Re: CME Futures Expiration Suppressing Market's Growth? Your Thought! on: June 30, 2018, 04:00:02 AM
Why should ordinary people care how high or low is the Bitcoin price.   Your average person wants to use a product not speculate in its price appreciation, Bitcoin is not an investment as its just a plain token with no yield or ongoing royalty or tie to a business.     If its proof of stake then sure theres a yield because its using holders wallet but its not the case with Bitcoin.

Speculative activities should not be considered normal or a primary driver of a product sucess or failure.   If the only concern to a product is the price then its already over, there has to be a utility given to holders and then we can speculate on that.

CME job is to formalise the price off the blockchain, the contracts they deal are not done with BTC directly even if delivery might occur on certain dates as described in a contract.    All CME does is competete with BTC exchanges for efficency of trade, depth of volume and also security.   CME is likely far more secure then having to risk a deposit on a centralised exchange which we all known has always been contrary to the true nature of BTC use.  CME might also be cheaper on large or frequent price exchanges, frequency trading even I dont know.

CME is unlikely to blame for price supression or really have an interest in that effect.  The users of CME might, they might want to influence price in all sorts of ways I guess, happens to lots of markets.   But influence of a price requires a loose liquidity and lack of demand imo
8957  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 30, 2018, 03:39:21 AM
300 dollars will be erased by tomorrow morning, it's not indicative of anything, we've seen this shit so many times.

This is why bitfinex created tether so they can print money out of thin air to create this fictitious sense of euphoria to those who think they are actually going to get a bounce back up so soon.

The entire 2017 bull run was:
>Tether prints money out of thin air

Leveraged trading is the entire rise would be surprising.   It doesnt take alot more demand to create a price rise when supply is quite fixed.   They'd need to be continually expanding their credit position, this is a natural effect occurring in USD but Im not sure BTC is benefiting from QE unwinding especially.   Most of the benefits goto primary dealers in US treasuries and Goldman is one and also a dealer in crypto so its possible a transfer between the two markets is there I guess.   I dont reckon Bitfinex can cause this by themselves without alot of help from their bank manager and/or fraud.   Do you mean they are painting the tape, thats a feature of some Chinese exchanges if any are left.

Theres plenty of doom just reading stated facts I think, just at present they are not come to full fruition but factors are in play enough for a Greek style scare and retraction in market confidence likely to knock BTC I guess.    With US 10 year yields being high, I guess it can be bought in safe haven thinking.  Meaning retraction in other pricing (everything denominated in USD)

The previous estimate I was given is 6500 as a bullish target with 6800 confirmation of a break in negative trend.  I generally agree with that and I'll add in I think we are in positive phase so long as we stay above 6127 and that also would be the recent price of the last top before falling some.    Highs now are the underside of the early April bottom, so theres some significance there
8958  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2018, 03:16:40 PM

and I don't care at all if my small change stuff is more or less decentralised.
I agree it shouldnt be a big deal but also some will say well the standard is failing if it cant all be decentralised.    I would prefer the really small change stuff is done via flexible exchange rates to tiny alt coins.   If it works, great for them and they can handle the transaction cost and processing integrity and if not the exchange rate falling vs Bitcoin will minimise any losses spreading.
But I worry about centralised processing of Bitcoin within this main blockchain could somehow develop into a negative distortion of value even if its tiny bits I see them as the most genuine commerce to come from the smallest movements of value and by the most diverse population.

i do have some segwit coins, those are the "spending" coins i use for buying stuff like pm and newegg etc. satoshi coins are for long term hodl.

Seems sensible and I would like if all coins were more often distributed between users.   I'm sure thats most of where BTC price strength should come from, monetary velocity between users with varied interests, many nationalities but a commonly traded currency.

By 2024, it will be closer to $500k/BTC break even.
So great efficiency improvements are a requirement if that is the case

8959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2018, 03:30:08 AM
Halvening is a long way off and even then it's effects are gradual not immediate.    The lead upto it might be hyped, the anticipation being bullish but I'd hope theres more near term positives then a simple known algorithm function.   People and expansion of peoples use for crypto should be a positive that is not yet known

true bubble pop

well no, not on the face of it.  A bubble pop is like happened with Madoff, a sudden deflation beyond any possible trade, hedge or compensating action.   I think we'd need to discover another grade of decline to be describing the dynamic, not flipping to a misfitting extreme scenario.     Theres no pop because it doesnt relate in that way, I just think overall post peak is a reaction to some restriction of leverage.   There was a lead up to the futures trading, buy the rumour sell the news is a normal occurrence in many asset classes

November 11 we had same price as of today's, Exactly 1 month later we saw ATH so Bitcoin to fly back from today's level is not impossible. While I am saying its not impossible at the same time I am accepting that Bitcoin could go as low as $5K in the worst scenario $4700

Edit:The lower we go the higher Next ATH will be.
The first rise encountered less sellers, everyone was in a gain at that point.   Right now we have certain sellers.   People always over invest money they cant actually forget about and need back and in a super bullish trend like Bitcoin had, that effect is amplified so now there is volume overhead.  A series of trenches to negotiate not a clear field.   I do think a price rise after markets confirm a bottom would be more confident rising then is now but its certain there is some sellers ready also so demand growth is necessary to be bullish.

This is extremely orderly, Bitcoin Richter scale volatility not so apparent nowadays
