8941  Other / Off-topic / Re: If Bitcoin price would fall to the bottom, what would you do next? on: August 21, 2016, 05:47:17 AM
I wonder if you would jump into another cryptocurrency in case the Bitcoin price would fall to the bottom. Or what else would you do? Would you leave the game completely? Tell me Smiley

If btc price falls to the bottom, i would wait to go up again.

If bitcoin gets destoyed ,i would leave the cryptocurrency market forever.

No altcoin will be as strong as bitcoin.
8942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Impending Global Negative Interest Rate Regime Bodes Well for Bitcoin on: August 21, 2016, 05:44:32 AM
The widely-publicized Bitfinex heist, which is the second biggest Bitcoin exchange hack after MtGox in 2013, may have a short term negative impact on the way general public perceives the novel technology. However, the Bitcoin blockchain - the backbone of the digital currency - was never compromised and the network continues to function without a hitch. The same could not be said for the world’s financial system!

Full article: http://razorsforex.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-impending-global-negative-interest.html

Negative interest rates can slowly destroy the world`s financial system and economy.

I don`t know why central bankers don`t get it.

Bitcoin is strong and vulnerable at the same time.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/soros-nearly-doubles-down-bearish-bet-against-sp-500-2016-08-16

Looks like he is doubling his short position betting for basically another collapse. Time to stock up on BTC.

This is normal for Soros.

He is making money everytime there is a crysis in the world economy.

I`m not pretty sure that this inforamation is true.
8944  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKcoin - illegal business/money laundering - Judge rules on: August 20, 2016, 11:44:29 AM
Okcoin, the biggest Bitcoin exchanger(aprox 80% from market) has been found guilty of unlicensed money transmitter(similar license for China) and other illegalities.

http://8btc.com/thread-37836-1-1.html

The Higher People's Court of Heilongjiang Province, rulled that Okcoin business is illegal because they don't have a proper license.
Okcoin company declared that they will only offer:  technology development, transfer of technology, technical services, technical marketing, consulting and investment management.
Trading bitcoin for profit-making purpose is beyond the range permitted by the administrative authorities.  They would need many other licenses.

More, the judge said that Okcoin favorize the criminals for laundering money.

Okcoin is well know for their shaddy business like fake volumes and price manipulation.

Even Lee, the BTC China CEO  said that a while ago "... Okcoin and Huobi are known for inflating trading volumes artificially, basically selling from left hand to the right hand."

http://www.coindesk.com/chinese-bitcoin-exchange-okcoin-accused-faking-trading-data/

http://bitcoinpricelive.com/chinese-bitcoins-crash-market/

Their clients should be aware that OKcoin can be closed anytime.Don't keep your funds in Okcoin !

Unfortunately every cryptocurrency trading platform is vulnerable to such "government" attacks.

Politics can hit bitcoin anytime they want.

Bitcoin will never gain enough trust...
8945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese miners controls Bitcoin Bloomberg Confirms! on: August 20, 2016, 11:39:08 AM

I guess this is another "bitcoin is dying" thread.

Mining bitcoins in China is cheaper and therefore more effective/profitable i guess.

What`s the problem with chinese miners?
8946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will this boost Bitcoin? on: August 20, 2016, 05:59:34 AM

I don`t think it`s going to boost bitcoin worldwide. It`s good news i guess.

Many people use bitcoin only because of btc gambling.

Maybe this is going to "boost" btc a little bit in the UK only.
8947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to Invest BTC? on: August 20, 2016, 05:54:45 AM
So where should we invest bitcoin to actually earn some profit and increase the amount of bitcoin we own, is there any legit place?
I mean cloud mining is a scam but there must be something else we can actually do right?

I think peer to peer lending sites like BTCjam and cryptocurrency trading platforms are the only legit

places to invest bitcoins.Although there is always a risk involved.

There is no 100% secure investment.

8948  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Cex.io a legit exchange service? on: August 20, 2016, 05:51:31 AM
Greetings,

I couldn't find a proper place to post this thread anywhere, have my apologies if it's misplaced.

Anyways, I have 0.7 BTC and looking to sell it and have the funds transferred to my VISA card.

The website which seems easiest to use is cex.io, though the TrustPilot ratings are really horrible. Can someone please share any experience with CEX.IO and whether I should use them for the BTC cashout.

Thanks

CEX.IO is one of the biggest players in the bitcoin business.

I`ve seen  very mixed reviews about them. Some good, some very bad.

I can`t use them because i`m not from USA.
8949  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: People who are successful, experienced traders - how did you get into it? on: August 19, 2016, 12:29:07 PM
I'm new to the idea of bitcoin trading in general, and I was wondering how people actually get into it? It sounds like a lot of people have some sort of background in economics or finance, or work in trading in their day jobs and use btc trading as a sideline, are there a lot of people like this? Do people learn by losing money and then figuring out where they went wrong and correcting it?

I'm interested to hear people's stories.

99% of the time success is just build from trial and error.

People who don`t give up succeed sooner or later.

This applies to bitcoin trading as well.
8950  Economy / Speculation / Re: Value of Bitcoin at end of 2016, beginning of 2017 ::: Predictions? on: August 19, 2016, 12:21:46 PM
My Guess?

$550/BTC

I think the btc price will increase during the winter.

Maybe around $750.Nobody can predict the exact price. We can only guess.

If there`s another "bitfinex" case, the price might go down.
8951  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if $1,000,000,000 is pushed into Bitcoin can the Price rise Up? on: August 19, 2016, 07:24:42 AM
Today the rate of 1BTC = $574.58 since the massive development involving bitcoin and it gives me cosine why bitcoin has not risen above $574

Many of us have been holding our bitcoin and waiting for the time that the price will rise so that we can sell...

My question is that what is can we do or what support can we put in place to enable the price of bitcoin in-cress?

What if $1,000,000,000 is pushed into bitcoin will the price rise?
Your opinion is highly appreciated

Yes,the price will rise if you buy bitcoins for $1 000,000,000.

The bitcoin market capitalization is below 10 billion USD so maybe this could increase the btc price

with more than 10$.There are other factors that determine btc price as well.
8952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am Satoshi Nakamoto - Video on: August 19, 2016, 07:20:31 AM
I was thinking when I saw that art with the collection of Avatars of a bunch of Bitcointalk users, why not make a video based on the same principle. We could have a central depository somewhere and

people can dump a short video where they say, I am Satoshi Nakamoto in their own language, and after a specific cutoff date, someone can close the site and edit it into one big video. We can

make it fun, and have different settings for every video clip.

We then place this video on YouTube, and all income from this goes towards some charity or to fund some prize for the best video clip or even to fund some effort to reduce scams. {Something positive}

What do you think? Will this work?

The revenue from Youtube will be very low.I think it`s about 1$ per 1000 views.

It`s a good idea anyway.

For me,the question "Who is Satoshi Nakamoto" isn`t interesting anymore. Sad

8953  Economy / Economics / Re: Businesses you can run from anywhere for under $1,000 on: August 18, 2016, 02:33:14 PM
Businesses you can run from anywhere for under $1,000 :
     1. WEBSITE DESIGNER
     2. ACCOUNTANT
     3. MATCHMAKING SERVICE
     4. TECH SUPPORT
     5. EDITORIAL SERVICES
     6. DIGITAL MARKETING AND PR
     7. TRAVEL EXPERT
     8. LIFE COACH/CONSULTANT
     9. CONTENT CURATOR

These are not businesses, these are jobs that you can work.

To have a business ,usually you need employees to work for you.

In online business sometimes you don`t need employees and you can be your own boss.

The costs of running an online business can be very small sometimes.

8954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving bitcoin a new name on: August 18, 2016, 02:28:56 PM
Hello everybody
I know many of us here are not included or affiliated to any crime online which involves bitcoin. but we have to stand for this currency that has helped many of us achieve most of our dream OR GOAL

Many scammers and fraudsters accept payment through bitcoin and it is giving bitcoin a bad name.
So-many country law enforcement agency are targeting bitcoin and looking for any slightest opportunity to bring down this great currency down, many of them clam that the are investing on the Blockchan technology why at the back the are trying different ways to bring down this currency BTC

I remember the time when law enforcement agency arrest people that are involved in Bitcoin or those using it (but now the have been slight changes in some country but not all)

So who has an idea of how we can Give bitcoin a good name?
What can we do to help this currency?

Scammers and fraudsters use bitcoin because it`s more anonymous and the transactions are irreversible.

Unfortunately those advantages make bitcoin a "scammer friendly" currency.

And unfortunately this stops bitcoin growth.

Bitcoin already has a good name here. Smiley

8955  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do with Bitcoin? on: August 18, 2016, 02:21:55 PM
So after a while of earning some bitcoin from doing various services and signature campaigns, when you reach like $100 worth of BTC in your wallet, what exactly do you do with it? Just hold it till the rate is high and make some profit and then start all over again or what?

It depends of the btc price and some other factors.

I`m holding my bitcoins now, waiting for the price to go up.

Before a few months i was selling all my bitcoin earnings for USD.
8956  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Paying and Legit Mining Sites. anyone? on: August 18, 2016, 09:30:13 AM
Anyone? That can share Mining Sites that are LEGIT, WORKING and PAYING 101%..
Most of mining sites nowadays turn to SCAM in months or a year.. The money invested cannot be refunded. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.. Smiley

Do you mean cloud mining sites?

Even paying and "legit" mining sites sooner or later become scams and run away with the btc because they

are just a ponzi scheme. They pay only to the first people who joined and are on the top of the

ponzi scheme pyramid.
8957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: "A Solution Looking for a Problem" on: August 18, 2016, 09:26:26 AM
Some people have that view about BTC. Do you think BTC is a clever solution in search of a problem?

If bitcoin was a solution, the problem (fiat money) should be solved, but the problem still exists.

So what solution is bitcoin?

For me bitcoin isn`t a solution, bitcoin is an alternative.
8958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar , a failure ? on: August 18, 2016, 09:22:46 AM
I made a topic similar to this one few months ago, now I once again checked the OpenBazaar stats and It looks like they are the same (If not worst)

I've been checking the stats almost daily but there is absolutely no progress : https://bazaarbay.org/stats/day

The question is : Can we consider OpenBazaar as a failure in the crypto currency world ? and why ?

I`ve never used openbazaar because i can`t install it on my pc.

I think that the whole OpenBazaar idea is good, but most of the people don`t feel secure when they

have to buy stuff there.
8959  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Preev Alternative on: August 17, 2016, 02:20:35 PM
I have used the site preev.com for many months and loved it.  It was an easy and clean, simple site that gave a quick conversion calculation for BTC to USD or whatever.  it loaded quick because there was pretty much nothing there but the drop downs and the numbers.  It has been going offline more and more here recently and I was wondering what other sites people use for the quick, on the fly conversions.  It was great when outside of the office and using a mobile phone because it loaded really quick.  Any suggestions?

Preev.com is again online,so you don`t have to search for alternatives.

The best preev alternative for me is youmeanbtc.com

I was using it to calculate my btc into USD.
8960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: August 17, 2016, 02:15:16 PM
Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.

Maybe the big btc online wallet service owners can give some information.

They can provide the number or newly created online wallet accounts.

I can`t figure out any other way.
