8981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: October 13, 2021, 03:36:09 AM
Mayweather's career is over he is semi-retired he will fight for exhibition, Canelo's career is at its peak he will have a lot of great fights and a lot of money coming in, in three or four years he can surpass Mayweather's career earning, and could become one of the boxers with highest earnings, Canelo is one of the most exciting boxers to watch in this era.

Canelo is just 31 years old. So if he keeps on fighting for as long as Floyd did, then he definitely has a chance to overtake him in terms of net earnings. I wouldn't read too much in to the $300 million deal from DAZN. These deals are subjected to various terms and conditions (and takes in to account fight cancellations). In the end the realized amount may be considerably smaller. But do you think that he will remain in peak form for another decade? And all it takes is just one upset defeat, and his career will sink.

Now it's already big changes happening but sadly CA is not adopting this all because I remember few decades back there was serious issue about salaries between CA and players Association, so many players was settling in England because they have nearly doubled money from home country.

But, sadly It's still going on as now just because of BBL they already have very good money in their account and many other things also happening which give them good resources, but Board is not going to change their attitude about this. If they do not bring some changes then surely few other Leagues can take over, and they will go with their second class players in this League.

Personally I believe that the BBL salaries should be higher. If that is not possible, then they should shorten the duration. While the other leagues such as PSL and CPL gets completed in just around a month, the BBL is considerably longer and goes on for two months. Each franchise side plays a total of 14 matches in the group phase. So the work load for the players is much higher when compared to the other leagues. The Pakistan Super League has much higher salaries, and each franchise plays only 10 matches in the group stage.
8983  Economy / Economics / Re: Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: October 13, 2021, 02:59:56 AM
World oil prices have moved up this year. From the beginning of the year until now, the world benchmark Brent oil price has risen 53%. The oil price even touched US$ 80/barrel, the highest in the last three years, on Tuesday's trading. For producing countries, the increase in oil prices provides benefits, but it will be difficult for oil importing countries, including in my own country and this is very different from gold even though there is an increase but it does not make it scarce in the market, while fuel oil when there is an increase is usually followed by a lack of supply in the market. market leading to scarcity

The increase in oil price is beneficial for only a few dictators such as Vladimir Putin and Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud. Even the population in these countries doesn't get much benefit from the price increase. Along with the oil prices, LNG prices are also increasing (benefitting producers like Russia, Qatar, Australia and Norway). For the oil-importing countries, this is catastrophic. Here in India, the inflation rate is surging because of rising gasoline prices. The trade deficit is also reaching historic highs.
8984  Economy / Economics / Re: CHINA Banning bitcoin: PBOC Says All Crypto-Related Transactions Are Illegal on: October 13, 2021, 02:46:42 AM
@fillippone, how much is China's market share now? From your charts, I can see that their share of the hash rate dropped from 75%+ in 2019 to <50% by mid-2021. I wonder how much it is now, since a number of large miners shifted their operations from China due to the ongoing bans. Also, it doesn't mean that mining has stopped completely in China. The government is allowing the existing farms to operate under strict terms (although I am not sure for how long they will be allowed to mine coins).
8985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: October 13, 2021, 02:34:44 AM
Look at Groups A, B and C. There is very tight competition for the first place. Biggest surprise is Group A, where Serbia is currently on top. But as things stand now, Portugal is the top ranking second placed team from all the groups. In Group B, Sweden is ahead of Spain. And the headache for Spain here is that they are now at the 4th position, as far as the second placed teams are concerned. Meanwhile in Group C, both Italy and Switzerland are tied with equal number of points (Italy slightly ahead thanks to better goal difference).
8986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 13, 2021, 02:18:09 AM
Virat Kohli has played well last month but the only regret is that no one has scored well except him. However, when Virat Kohli retires, he may relax and play well. Virat Kohli was in very good form before he got the captaincy. After taking over the captaincy, the performance gradually decreased.

Virat is a very egoistic personality. I don't know whether he can adjust himself if someone else is captaining the RCB. Also, if he steps down from captaincy, who will be the replacement? Apart from AB de Villiers, none of the other players don't have much experience. Glenn Maxwell may be another choice, but I don't know whether he had captained T20 teams before. Else, RCB needs to go for some of the promising young players like Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal or Devdutt Padikkal. But that will be a very risky move.
8987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can China Ban on Bitcoin have any negative effect on Bitcoin in future? on: October 12, 2021, 04:41:20 AM
The ban was imposed a few weeks ago and I am surprised that this thread appeared now. Everyone knows the answer by then. The current exchange rates are almost 15% higher than what we had when China imposed the strict ban on cryptocurrency. So the writing on the wall is clear. Bitcoin doesn't need China. And to know whether China needs Bitcoin or not, we may need to wait for some more time. Personally for me, the China ban was like a blessing in disguise. I was never comfortable with >80% of the mining hash power concentrated in that country.
8988  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-11] India's upcoming cryptocurrency law seeks to balance stability and on: October 12, 2021, 04:16:02 AM
The good news is that the Indian government finally decided to legalize cryptocurrency. On what conditions is the second question. The main thing is legalization. When she begins to walk legally in the country, gradually the conditions of her walking can be changed, this is a common practice in relation to everything new. In addition, we do not know under what conditions of walking the corresponding laws will be adopted. After all, this topic is still being discussed.

There is no final decision yet. Some of the members of the cabinet want to tax cryptocurrency transactions and make them legal, while some others including the RBI governor want to impose a blanket ban. So there needs to be some compromise in between and I don't think that the final terms are going to be very favorable for the cryptocurrency users. Don't forget that this is a country where e-Cigarettes, vibrators and satellite phones are banned. Do you guys really think that they will be progressive when it comes to cryptocurrency?
8989  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dream Bitcoin 100k on: October 12, 2021, 03:56:23 AM
Everyone of us dude especially the Bitcoin holders but i think it is very far from this season, i believe will reach that price in next 3 to 5 years, but for now let us enjoy first the affordability of Bitcoin.

Do you really believe that it will take Bitcoin another 5 years to reach $100,000? This has to be one of the most pessimistic predictions about the Bitcoin exchange rate I have ever seen in this forum. And that also means that you believe the current rates are inflated, right? Because with the current rate of adoption, it will be foolish to expect just around 50% increase in the next 5 years. Because the userbase is going up by anywhere from 2% to 5% every month. So unless you believe that Bitcoin is overpriced at this moment, the prediction doesn't make sense.
8990  Economy / Economics / Re: Taiwan invasion - how would it affect bitcoin on: October 12, 2021, 03:33:17 AM
Do you guys really think that China would actually invade Taiwan? Despite it's huge population and monetary surplus, in terms of military strength China is far behind other countries like US and Russia. In fact they are even behind their own neighbors like Japan. Taiwan invasion will be like Waterloo for the PLA, as the Taiwanese armed forces will be fighting for their very survival. Even if the Americans don't directly support the Taiwanese, PLA is likely to suffer huge losses (in terms of manpower, equipment and funds).
8991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: October 12, 2021, 03:16:32 AM
It depends on the skills of the fighter as we have some champions who are good at trash-talking, good example is Floyd Mayweather Jr., he is a very smart fighter, it doesn't matter to him if people call him boring as long as he makes tons of money in boxing and was able to retain his undefeated record.

Floyd was really unique. Floyd Mayweather to boxing is what Tiger Woods is to golf, or Cristiano Ronaldo to football. I really doubt whether any other fighter would be able to achieve as much success as Mayweather did. He earned hundreds of millions of USD from his boxing career and others like Canelo are far behind him. Even Mike Tyson at his prime couldn't earn as much as Mayweather. Will Canelo ever be able to match him? I really doubt that. Canelo doesn't have the same fan following as Mayweather.
8992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 12, 2021, 03:05:06 AM
This is happening in BigBash for some time because some years back I also read few local players refuse to play this league because they feel they have not enough money from them which is strange for me because they have some good market and their media partnership is also very good but still they are unable to give good salaries to players is really strange because if they pay good then surely big players will come, and they have good viewer ship and good number of peoples in grounds as well.

Few years back, just because of these salaries issues, mostly Australian players was love to play in England instead of Australian domestic matches because they have some better salaries from them.

They have this stupid salary cap, which is kept at a very low level. It was OK when the BBL first launched (2011), but during the last decade player salaries have gone up by manytimes. Right now the highest paid player in BBL receives a salary that is only around 1/10th of that received by the highest paid player in the IPL. And the work load is almost the same. Given this, many of the local players prefer to play in other leagues such as Vitality Blast and CPL, rather than participating in the BBL.
8993  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: October 12, 2021, 02:57:49 AM
From what I could see, a new ATH is just in the horizon. We are already past 57K, and another 15% increase will get us to that level. But from what I have seen in the past, I would expect at least 2-3 minor corrections before we reach 64K again. Most probably BTC will dip below 50K and then recover. And hopefully after the ATH is hit, it will be a smooth journey towards $100,000. I won't be much surprised if the prices go beyond that by the end of this year, or by the beginning of next year. Things are looking positive for Bitcoin and once again the Bitcoin dominance is approaching the 50% level.
8994  Economy / Economics / Re: Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: October 12, 2021, 02:43:26 AM
Well, they sure want us to abandon fossil fuels and this all seems to me, an orchestrated move. Fuel prices are doomed to go over the counter as this will be a way to force people to move from fossil fuels onto electric energy-powered vehicles. The problem is that electric energy-powered is not the future. The future of mobility is Hydro.

LOL... this is the most ridiculous justification that I have ever heard. The oil prices are going up because of production cuts from the OPEC+. The oil consuming countries have no reason to spike the prices, because they suffer in the end as a result of high trade deficit and inflation. And it is funny that you think that Hydrogen can be the future of automobile industry. Hydrogen is extremely difficult and risky to store and no matter how much the technology advances, it can't be directly used in automobiles.
8995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: October 12, 2021, 02:35:43 AM
And here we have it , glad and happy about that Germany has the Ticket for World Cup in Qatar with help from romania that wons against armenia with 1:0.
First half wasnt the best for both teams but in the second half Germany was playing better and scored 4 goals , the best goal in my opinion was the second one,
from Werner but the first was also nice , fingers crossed he can keep this in his Club too now.

Germany's position in Group J was never in doubt. It is true that they had an upset defeat against North Macedonia. But after that, they won 7 matches consecutively. The real competition in this group is for the second spot. Right now three teams have almost equal number of points (Armenia, Romania and North Macedonia). The final round of matches will decide which team is going to finish second.

BTW, things got a little bit more interesting in Group G. Norway and Turkey both ended up with wins. They have two matches each remaining and currently Norway is ahead of Turkey by two points. But Norway's last match is against the Netherlands.
8996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 12, 2021, 02:13:25 AM
If CSK wins it will be huge for MSD fans. I thought we would see him play the world cup but the pandemic and the change in the date forced him to retire for good and even thought MSD was not in the best of form this season, he peaked at the right time when the team needed and that is what legends do, when the team needed a total to chase and he finishes off in style.

Now i think Delhi might be the other team in the final.

Obviously a CSK win would be huge for the fans of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. But that said, I am not sure whether he is in the perfect form right now. The performance from a single match can't be taken as a benchmark. Ruturaj Gaikwad, and to some extent Faf du Plessis, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu have scored the vast majority of the runs for CSK. Middle order is a concern for CSK and although Dhoni has made contributions at the crucial moments, this department still looks shaky for them.
8997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 11, 2021, 07:31:01 AM
As a batsman, Dhoni hasn't done much in this tournament before the Qualifier vs Delhi Capitals, but as a captain he did a great job. I certainly understand why MS Dhoni is known as the greatest finisher in cricket history with 18 runs off just six balls to lead CSK vs Delhi Capitals! He saved his best for last.

It was a poor over from Tom Curran. He (Tom) did an excellent job till then, conceding less than a run per ball and picking up important wickets. But Dhoni had something else in mind. And the DC captain just looked clueless. Personally I thought that it was better to go for Anrich Nortje or Kagiso Rabada in the last over, because Tom didn't had many outings for DC this season. Anyway, CSK is just one win away from the trophy. And that will be complete turn around from their pathetic performance in 2020.
8998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar supporters destroy Bitcoin ATM in El Salvador on: October 11, 2021, 04:16:09 AM
I guess no one is protesting in El Salvador right now. When Bitcoin was made legal tender in that country, the exchange rate was going at $46,000. Now the exchange rate is $56,500, which represents an increase of 23% in one month. Those who listened to these useless protestors and refused to apply for the $30 airdrop lost a good chance to get some free coins in their wallet. Last month there was a flurry of articles in various mainstream media channels criticizing the move. All of them seems to have disappeared by now.
8999  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese construction Mega-Bankruptcy. Evergrande about to crash for 355B on: October 11, 2021, 03:25:26 AM
The Chinese government, the latter, has always been totalitarian. The truth was showing signs of maturity and partial support for market rules. But totalitarianism does not tolerate freedom, which began to break through in everything and everywhere. Therefore, the most anticipated turn of events is "tightening the screws", a decrease in freedoms, an increase in totalitarian methods in management. Well, as a result - the curtailment of the economic "miracle"

A few decades back, China was under the iron curtain and the citizens were unware of the liberties being enjoyed by those in democratic nations. But along with economic prosperity, the communications with other countries also increased and as a result at least a section of the population started rebelling against the regime. Perhaps the events in Hong Kong (supported by the West) was the turning point. The regime realized that if they don't nip the rebellion in the bud, then it will end up in their own destruction.
9000  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is helping out Cubans and Venezuelans on: October 11, 2021, 03:13:09 AM
So this is already moving into the format of the usual use of crypt, as in many other countries. This has nothing to do with saving the economy, "it just means that cryptocurrencies, not bitcoin or some other kind, but all crypts, went to the masses, and the market adapted to their appearance, as a means of payment, or as a payment surrogate that suits many

If "saving the economy" means saving the interests of central banks and the politicians, then Bitcoin is not suitable for that purpose. Venezuelans use Bitcoin just because their own national currency is worthless. The ruling elite has other ways to take care of their expenses and to maintain their wealth, but for the vast majority of the ordinary Venezuelans that is not the case. With the annual inflation nearing 10,000%, they are desperate to save their wealth. Other assets like gold and platinum are not readily available there and even if the are available, the threat of confiscation will be there.
