8981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moncaco (MCO) - has been grabbing big attention recently! on: August 28, 2017, 07:33:24 AM
Monaco has been under the attention of big time traders and investors recently after news of a card system, an app and VISA APPROVAL! Anyone have any advice regarding how to approach trading , best times to buy and sell etc..  ? Smiley
VISA approval should be the main concern, i think that if this is the best time to sell your coin if you are holding some mco token. The traders will always be buying in the rumour and sell for the news. That just like a rule when you wanna take the profit through doing a trade. That was being a mandatory for every traders.

But how do you know rumour from news? Monaco has a 31 August dateline for the launch of this card. Is this considered rumour? If so, then people who bought at ICO did not get a good price move judging from the history on coinmarket. Do you mean buy on good rumour and sell on bad news?
8982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves in December! on: August 28, 2017, 06:08:51 AM
You know, this is the problem with alts. Sometimes, I look at an alt. I think to myself, hey, actually it looks like a good deal. Very nice GUI. Team looks capable. Many ICOs choose it. And I think I will buy a bit of it to invest.

Then I see these people come in and talk about it x10 or x100 etc. You sometimes see Bitcoin having the same but not the frequency of altcoins. Then I look away from the alt.
8983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH, rise or fall? on: August 28, 2017, 05:59:01 AM
BCH features cause it to be one of most successful altcoins. Existence of free BCH doesn't let the price rise very much. Beacuse after any little increase in price, there are lots of people dump their coins. But I am sure that BCH future is really great. For now buying BCH and holding them is a very good choice.

It is not one of the most successful altcoins. Not even one month so too soon to call. In fact, if you think about the expectations of its creators, you should say it was a failure. Judge this by the price offered on exchanges when deposits did not open yet. And then what happened when it finally got traded with deposits.
8984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Dmarket - the worlds first decentralized, cross-game marketplace. on: August 27, 2017, 09:50:42 AM
A blockchain project aiming to create a marketplace for virtual gaming items has raised more than $10 million in an initial coin offering (ICO).

The ICO for DMarket, which began last week, collected 26,935 ETH – an amount worth roughly $8.9 million at current prices – as well as 365 BTC, valued at approximately $1.5 million. And though DMarket's website doesn't list the number of contributors, it states that the sale drew 4,827 transactions over the several-day period.

https://www.coindesk.com/10-4-million-game-item-exchange-dmarket-raises-new-funds-ico/
Hi! We are very impressed with the enthusiasm of our investors. On our website, you can see that we had 4 890 transactions. Together, we made the future of an in-game economy closer!

Well done, DMarket! Will this impressive figure affect how the second round of crowdfunding will take place three months from now? I myself am gearing up for a possible significant contribution to the November round. Unless tokens hit the exchange market and I am able to swipe some from there from the early sellers.
8985  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: August 27, 2017, 08:50:41 AM
It is said that bitcoin will destroy the fiat system but i believe that if this happens the world will change completly because banks and a lot of things will go out of market.
It maybe or maybe not. In fact, nobody knows what happen in the near future, just as long as the demand of the community unto bitcoin together with the whale investors is continuous  go up, that is very much possible in 2022 many by that time are bitcoin users I think.
There is no way that Bitcoin can destroy the FIAT system, what i believe bitcoin will do is that its going to make Banks lose lots of their customers, with their outrageous fee's, Its not surprising that lots of Banks are losing their customers to cryptocurrencies especially bitcoins, you will see your money gain profits you wouldn't otherwise get when you put them in a bank for a whole year.

Yeah, and that is anyway not the purpose of Bitcoin. Paper money. And even metal money never meant to kill barter trade. Barter is still alive today in many societies. I am 110% sure fiat also still has its own uses and will be around for a very long time. I like fiat too, for convenience. I also like Bitcoin. They can coexist. Why not?
8986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How long do you hold? on: August 27, 2017, 08:09:02 AM
Well there is no certain answer to that but generally i am a kind of person who likes to take risks. So if a coin is on a up trend i usually wait for it reach it's peak to sell it. Sometimes that made me lose money but still it is the way i do it.
All in all it's better to invest in a longterm investments and be patient.

I guess I am the sort of same type of risk taker. But so far, I am making a lot of mistakes. I see a coin on an up trend but I mistake it as a move, ends up being a very very long pump. I see a coin go down and think stay away, turns out was a dump waiting for pump. But yes, for my last mistake, I did not sell. I just hold it and wait for it to reach another same pump. Long-term but seems this is the only way like you said.
8987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $HSR : The Chinese Dash and ZCash on: August 27, 2017, 07:53:49 AM
Why is it called the Chinese Dash and ZCash? Just because of the same protocols and similar "anony"-use? Just because it is run by Chinese people? I am also, dying to know how the posters here who talk about being the first to open threads, do it. I also want to know about new Chinese coins. Care to help each other?
8988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TenX vs. Monaco on: August 27, 2017, 07:50:50 AM
As most people have mentioned, I would go with TenX too. They have lowest fees compare to Monaco and other similar tokens, they're due for a pump in the near future. Monaco had a good run but I don't see it going anywhere and it's looking shaky at this point.

Monaco had a lot of issues especially after ICO ended. TenX is only about lower fees? Both talk about a product neither have yet, 31 August we will find out if Monaco meet the deadline. But other than that, everyone has a debit card. The real winner will be the one who can provide Virtual debit card. Disposable, one-time use. Now if you have that, that's the real killer.
8989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 1 BCH = 1 BTC before end of august? on: August 26, 2017, 06:32:08 PM
Bitcoin cash is trying so hard. It says it is the real Bitcoin. It says you don't have to wait so much. It has so much political support and so many parties trying to hold up the price. It is more profitable to mine, etc. But it is still an alt. And it still needs to be traded for Bitcoin. It won't reach half by end of August or by end of 2017. If that is true, then buy all the BCH you want and hold while BTC keeps going up.
8990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in ICO on: August 26, 2017, 06:10:59 PM
Better invest in an ICO with an existing product, but it is not the only thing that counts..
There needs to be a big team behind, with a serious project, and with a well-defined road map
However, the best ICOs end in a few minutes..  Roll Eyes

Not necessarily. That's good advice for normal investment but ICOs follow no rules. Product, big team, road map. Look at Humaniq, Bancor etc.

And the best ICOs end in a few minutes? Have you taken a look at Bancor or even SONM? They're all crying now.
8991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Enigma Hacked; Over $470,000 in Ethereum Stolen on: August 26, 2017, 11:53:02 AM
The hacker tried to sell about 200k of the stolen ether on an exchange and it was caught and frozen. Kind of a dumb move.

Sounds like Enigma is planning to reimburse the people who were tricked. I'm glad for those people, but I hope they know how lucky they are in this circumstance, and I hope they will be more careful in the future since this sort of thing seems to happen a lot.

This shows that doing crime with crypto is not a walk in the park. If you steal millions you will get caught sooner or later... the amount of mixing and so on that you would need would drive you insane. I prefer to not commit any crimes and just do it the right way and be able to sleep at night.

The only time I mixed coins I did it to test it out and see how it works, but im not going to mix my coins because you never know if you are getting tainted coins back from the mixture.... like it or not, fungibility in BTC sucks.

I must agree that these guys are very lucky that they will be refunded. How many times have hackers stolen stuff, and people are just left alone in the dark. Hopefully the makers can contact the people holding these frozen funds. I think this is a lesson also. If ICOs can have preagreements for escrow or multi sig wallets that are only sent to investors, this will make it extra difficult to be fooled.
8992  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is more profitable: a gambling site or a dating site? on: August 25, 2017, 10:57:32 AM
Gambling sites = auto profit but only after a long period of calculation, thanks to profit model based on house edge and calculcated maximum risk.

Dating sites = auto advertising profit but only if you can attract a lot of REAL users. 100s of dating sites but fake profiles =  bad reputation and losing customers. Then if you add in adult model, with private pay, then that is where the money is.

8993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fate of Bitconnect on: August 25, 2017, 10:18:32 AM
I think one of the biggest explanations for this was the simple BCC confusion. A lot of people thought they were buying up Bitcoin Cash since they shared the same BCC ticker. Then those who made mistakes sold it anyway for profit and Bitconnect profited from that.

I never heard of Bitconnect until 1 August actually, this is a funny world of crypto hehe.
8994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Liqui.io NOT honoring withdrawals! on: August 25, 2017, 09:58:29 AM
On one hand, Liqui's guaranteed API for their lending programme was always too good to be true (how can you ever guarantee anything beyond 1% a year anyway? Even the biggest banks will do this only for their biggest clients). So this always felt like a risky venture.

On the other hand,,, all of you posting here are Newbie accounts with only a couple posting proof.
8995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto-Pumps on: August 25, 2017, 08:30:08 AM
I tried to click the link to watch the group out of my curiosness, but the invite seems to have expired. Does anyone know of any similar successful group? All I see is bad reviews. Sometimes even unhappy pumpers. But honestly I would like to see for myself how such things are coordinated. If it does not work why do people keep doing it right?
8996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie to Altcoins on: August 25, 2017, 08:23:25 AM
In the search for altcoins to invest in please is volume also a determing factor. Like lets say coins with high 24hrs volume, do they tend to perform better than those with low or non existent volume. Thanks in anticipation for your opinions.

Hey you can check this out too http://bounty.authorship.com/ref/V8218338

Careful, you can be banned for posting referral links. Even that alt you are promoting can be banned with so many people promoting it.

On alts, be patient. Take your time to read and learn before even buying anything. Do take notes and see if your predictions were correct. Never go all in. Never use emotion. Be diligent and always keep sharing!
8997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🏦 👪📱[ANN]SilentNotary{1st NOTARY CHATBOT} ⏰ ICO is going ! on: August 25, 2017, 06:58:09 AM
I have read a bit of it. Yes it sounds very interesting but I do not really understand why this is different from the things I already do?

For example, my email is my chief evidence for everything I do - it has time stamp and server information that can be retrieved. I keep all chat logs and all voice call logs. If I use this chatbot for everything,,, maybe I do not see a good reason.
8998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LiteCoin worth investing in now? on: August 24, 2017, 05:14:56 PM
There are plenty of altcoins that you need to choose don't choose LTC because for me if i had low budget since i started with altcoins im always preferred to read about the topics about cryptocurrencies that has very potential to increase with in a week choose another coin like ethereum or ethereum classic litecoin is a very low you can't even assured your earnings there.

The problem with those "good value" low cost altcoins is that they can just go and lose 70-80% value in a matter of days. I got burnt by many alts like this. I won't choose Litecoin as my main alt investment but I still see it as a small hedge. It has been on a slow and steady roll, and I won't mind if it drops 5-15%, as I know it continues to grow and will always recover. It is like Silver after all. Never shiny like gold but never bad enough to throw away.
8999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Filing a lawsuit against Genesis Mining on: August 24, 2017, 04:29:41 PM
Funny is how first they have some IT problems, and then later a hack is announced. Every time a service runs into problems, they blame it on hackers - so convenient. Anyway, this is another story in many stories you can find online about Genesis Mining. They claim so much and look so professional, but so many customers even from more than 1 year ago complain that they lose money.

Lesson: cloud mining is not profitable, unless you are a whale.
9000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance B.S. on: August 24, 2017, 04:06:13 PM
Might be a good time to dump some of that BNB  Undecided

Sorry but why are you trying to download BNB just because the site is momentarily down?
So a few months ago, you had to sell all your ETHs because the etherscan network was blocking every new big ICO?
Or then abandon polinex or bittrex because when a new coin is added they go down.

This is the first ICO on BNB.
Take the time to grow and improve this new exchange!

Well, a company that ruined my morning, and didn't plan ahead around issues. But it's all OK, I made money on BNB, and repurchased at a cheaper price. I guess that will make up for it for now. However, the fact they call this ICO a "Success" is pretty funny. Still lame, I spent two hours trying to get the TRON purchase, had to go to work for an hour, come back and it was all purchased. Sad I'm gonna ride it out a little longer, but not impressed.

Which ICO would call their efforts a failure anyway? I have even seen one or two active ICOs on this forum extend and re-extend their ICOs, calling each round a great success. Then you look at their ICO addresses and see small amounts incoming (and of course going out). I guess whatever works, will work. Until we punish them for their incompetence,,, they will continue to launch and milk newbies.
