901  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin And FIFA World Cup 2018 In Russia on: May 01, 2018, 08:37:47 PM
What stops you from selling your coins and buying aa ticket for fiat? Even if sellers accept crypto they will probably use some kind of service like bitpay and will instantly change it to fiat because they will hardly need those coins in future.
The other thing that could be seen with crypto and world cup is something like a bitcoin betting on football matches. Most of betting websites are already accepting it but I havent seen anything using smart contracts for betting.
902  Economy / Economics / Re: Jim Rogers: Before All This Is Over, Gold Is Going Through The Roof on: April 30, 2018, 05:55:00 PM
Jim Rodgers has been bearish on the stock market since the 1980s and how well has that prediction worked out?
Yep, in some meaning he was right. There were already several crises since that time. The key poing that the market crash (for example like the one we had back in 2008) are a result of accumulation of various negative things during the pretty large period of time and it usually blow up after the global market frenzy. Some stock investors say that untill you hear those warnings about the market bubble then this bubble is still on the half way till it blow up.
This time everything is pretty much the same. Stock market is bullish for several years in a row and this year is still supposed to be a bullish one. Many people will agree that bubble is forming on the stock market right now but no one can tell the exact date when it blow up.
903  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price review by Tom Lee (the major analyst of Fundstar Global Advisors) on: April 30, 2018, 05:13:46 PM
Well, according to this logic we should have a good dump now. Bitcoin holders shouldn't be taxed for holding crypto. Income tax is usually taken after selling your coins as a % of your benefit from holding crypto. At least this is how it is supposed to be. So it seems like people should cash out now if they didn't want to be charged at the previous year.
All those forecasts are absolute bullsit. People are pointing on the correlation between BTC price changes and tax year, bangladesh interest rate changes, penguin season migration etc. But no one was bothered enough to prove that this correlation really exist. If Tom Lee says that this somehow influenced the BTC price then I expect him at least to make a survey among the US crypto holders asking them why they bought / sold their coins and when.
904  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC still not out of bear trendline? on: April 30, 2018, 02:27:06 PM
Everything depends on the timeframe you chose. Just comparing everything to the all time maximum is totally wrong. You may set the larger timeframe and find that the current price is still way bigger then it was a year ago. On december Bitcoin was obviously in a bubble.
To analyze the current situation it would be better to set the smaller timeframe in order to see if the market is recovering from the recent shocks and what is happening in this particular moment.
905  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin flip Trading Simulator – online trading game for crypto traders on: April 29, 2018, 11:12:10 PM
Hmm, that's seems like a good progress. It is very hard to find any kind of totally crypto related trading software that have a demo version. I would advise you to try to add more coins. Less popular ones. At least first 100 of the CMC. The problem is that major coins are already traded with different forex brokers while the most impressive fast growth is usually achieved on smaller coins. That will be helpfull for newbies to try themselves without loses. Also trading coins with lower volume is different then trading major pairs.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Management Company on: April 29, 2018, 08:12:35 PM
About Tokensuite. I've just visited their website and found that they have 2 doges in their team! What can go wrong?
As I've seen on their website they are located in turkey and have a plenty of projects behind their back. I've checked one of the past bounty campaing and found that needmoney . Is supposed to be their team member. He is got a green trust so it seems like their team is legit.
. I'm alarmed when a news came to me that only 65% of ICO are legit and the rest are scam.
Vitalik Buterin once said that about 99% of all ICOs are suppose to die. It may be concidered as a scam by those people who think that they will surely get profit from it.

P.S. and yes, move this thread
907  Other / Meta / Re: Merit points for Bounty threads on: April 28, 2018, 05:29:11 PM
I'm only just starting to understand a bit about the bounty sub-culture on Bitcoin Talk. I agree with you comment about awarding of merits for bounty creation. It's probably going a bit far, but maybe the bounty culture should have it's own merit system.
Who da hell cares about campaign managers? Merit system was mainly created in order to prevent spam that is mostly coming from sig campaign participants, not managers. Most managers are established forum members and merits given to them for just posting a thread doesn't change anything. It is only numbers and the feel of inequality for lower rank members. There is nothing what people should fight against.
908  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 28, 2018, 02:14:07 PM
Such things (especially like your first offer) look too complicated. I'm not a specialist and probably aint know shit about what I'm talking now but it feels like it should somehow affect the encription of the entire user data of this forum. And by the way this thing with seed more reminds of something like steem accounts.
The most simple thing that can prevent all hacks is using 2FA. That's definetely seems easier and more profitable then mentioned options. Sadly but it doesn't seem like it will be used soon because people are asking for 2FA for a long time and for some reasons admins can't make it.

910  Other / Meta / Re: Against newbie topics on the Bitcoin discussion board - again... on: April 26, 2018, 10:50:14 PM
IMO this is a section where you can just disable thread bumbing by the newbie posts. New threads will immediately drawn to the next pages and at the same times old spam megathreads won't be bumped anymore because mostly only newbies are shitposting there.
This is theway how to make sections like Bitcoin Discussion more clean without harming anyone by bans or any kind of strong moderation.
911  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion-how can we improve the post quality on: April 25, 2018, 07:14:59 PM
snip

Look at the number of merits getting generated every month from the merit sources. Look at the number of accounts we have. This is a bad idea and Implementing some thing like this would be an epic fail.

I agree with botany. This is not solution for now. The best solution i can think of for now is for merit sources or merit giver to have standard of merit giving, so it would fall to the hand of quality people, thuhs will creating a ripple of a good and high quality people for the forum. To do that smoothly, we also need to add more merit sources.
This will never work, not just now. Imagine how someone is going away for vacations or simply not able to log in  to this forum because of any irl difficulties. Then after coming back this person is getting his account back banned / demerited / whatever else people are offering here. Sure, that will make the forum friendlier.
Also there are a lot of official accounts of different services. You don't have to reciece merits when you are only informing users about any updated but they are also risking.

913  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exmo Bot - the best tool for a successful trader on: April 23, 2018, 07:34:15 PM
Just want to notify the potential users of your bot that EXMO exchange is unsafe and have multiple unresolved scam accusations on this forum. They also have their offical account there and as you can see it is red tagged.
Don't be greedy while looking for a free bot while the entire exchange is unsafe. Read about them before dealing at your own risk. Even if theis bot works fine you can still lose your money because of the issues described by the other users.
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance will use Blockchain Technology to help fuel 1000’s of jobs and boost Uga on: April 23, 2018, 05:16:46 PM
Why da hell they chose Uganda? This os one of thofe banana republics. Their main export is coffee which takes about 19% of their total export!!! If you dig deeper I bet you will find many reasons why is that happening and why Uganda is deserved to be called a shithols. They definetely have many economical, social and other problems that not allow the country to get a decent amount of investments. There is no way it could changed by blockchain lol.
What's next? Someone decide  to suppurt spaceship construction in Uganda?
What makes you think that? Uganda is a poor country with few resources, but digital technology allows for the development of any country. It is enough to have a non-corrupt government that is ready for reforms and investment promotion. America and the EU have very well-regulated legislation. It is always easier to build a new value system than to change the old one.
As I already mentioned right now they  produce coffee which is 19% of their export. Every other thing they can offer to the world have exactly the same complexity of manufacture. This is not even about the corrupted government. It is mostly about the current social capital of Uganda and their social institutions. There is almost no way to make the workers of the coffee plantation produce high technology products. Such countries should start from the other things.
I'm not really a specialist on Ugandian economy but in pretty often after different changes of the government they invite different skilled advisors. It is usually one of the best professors from US and EU universities that are  making a special economical program for those countries. But every time everything goes wrong. This is a failed state. Not the worst one in africa but there if no way for them to become a hi-tech country.

916  Other / Meta / Re: Solution to stop Newbie-Jr.Member spamming on: April 22, 2018, 11:38:41 PM
It is almost the same as making forum moderators look through every single newbie post but before they were posted. I can already imagine how slow it gonna work. Not all newbie users are scammers and it won't be good if someone urgently needs some help but have to wait untill his thread will pass through this moderation. It seems easier to remain the current system and just moderate the garbage that already was posted.

I've just got an idea. What if newbie and jr member user's posts simply won't bump threads? Ofcourse it won't solve all problems at one time how everyone want (which is imo very stupid) but it should eliminate bumping of different great projects without hurting the forum envioronment. At least one small step to make this forum better.
917  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Exchange Bitfinex Move to Switzerland on: April 22, 2018, 06:07:42 PM
That's a pretty good move from their side. Personally I was afrade that with all those Tether issues they fill continue different shadow activities and move away somewhere where they can avoid any kind of serious  punishment for any possible financial crime. So even if they are hiding from the US law they are still going go stay in a legal field. Meanwhile Switzerland is a reputable zone (even way more reputable then Malta) and they are crypto friendly. There alreaty were some rumours about crypto franc. Who knows, maybe something like that have a chance yo appear on Bitfinex.
918  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to get Forex traders to trade in Bitcoin ? on: April 21, 2018, 06:50:51 PM
I've said this time and time again, we shouldn't try to get more people to invest in bitcoin. Because these forex traders are like any other trader, they don't care about the underlying tech -- they're going to make this a volatile currency which is going to lead to less and less adoption. We need volatility to go down if we want bitcoin to be a major world currency, NOT UP.

Forex traders should stick where they are, it's fine like this.
Absolitely not. Forex market is a destination point for the entire crypto trading (by crypto trading I understand margin trading). Most of the crypto traders don't care about the technology either, I bet that a good part of BTC users will not describe how it works. What really matters for traders is trading opportunities on the current market (technology is more as an influencer here).
Forex market have billions of daily volume which fullu prevents it from a significant influence of one (or even a large group) of participants of this market while crypto market can easily be dumped by any whale. That will be a great success if at least a small part of forex volume will switch into crypto.
919  Other / Meta / Re: My friend introduce me to btc. At first I was hesitant..... on: April 21, 2018, 01:30:48 PM
Hey, Pharmacist! Thanks for letting us read all this shit lol. Most of the non bounty threads with 20+ pages looks like this. They look absolutely the same on all pages and it seems unreal to ressurect them. Even if you ask those spammers what are they doing  you won't get a respond because they will never visit this thread again. Which partly reminds me of one thread that I've created some time ago but it was ignored but most of the community.
IMO in case with such spammers the question is more about the reward they get. If most decent bounty managers blacklist them then who da hell is paying? It is partly a fault of the projects and bounty managers that are accepting those users
920  Economy / Economics / Re: World debt hits new record: good for BTC on: April 20, 2018, 10:06:30 AM
Because you  don't have instruments to controll the monetary system. Deflation can be way more harmfull then the inflation. It will completely kill the macro economy of the country. Economists have to struggle it.
Controlling the monetary system is very much a Bretton-woods invention. World economy had been running through the years when you did not have these 'monetary controls', albeit with crashes and depressions. Crashes still happen today.  The problem is, economists have convinced themselves and the world that this model works the best. Even when there is an alternative emerging for the taking, they are more interested in disparaging it than actually informing the media and public about both sides. It's a battle of perception than a case of one being superior over other.

A capped reserve gives much less wiggle room to central banks(like the Federal Reserve) forcing them, the Politicians and the Investment bankers on their management boards to actually do their job. While with an unlimited reserve, you can always "Quantitatively Ease" your way out of any fuck-up.
Bretton-woods system ahould ba able to clear the mess after the hard times and make economies more connected with each other. At the 2nd half of the XX sentury economic science was way more developped then it was years ago, it became an established science rather then just an exchange. Economists started using different econometric tricks that did not exist before.
The real problem of US economy (as highly affects the global economy) is welfare. This is a huge beast and politicians still keep feeding it (and probably will continue doing it). Insane amounts of money are wasted for nothing. If anyone think that the current global economical system works bad then he can eliminate welfare before dealing with the other things.
