This is great.

I'd like to see 3 experienced people with rep verify in posts below that this is clean and working before I release it to the public from our main site and OP. Special thanks to the compiler you will get a nice bounty once verified.

First three with healthy forum rep that verify below will get a nice tip.

**Same goes for the linux one please - still haven't had confirmations from anyone that they got it going and I'd like to give the guy that did it his deserved bounty once verified too...

http://earthcoin.biz/earthcoin_linux.tgz

Also we may have just landed our first merchant that will accept actual coins for product. This product(s) is something we all need, and consume, everyday.

More to come. Been a long day - will distribute bounty's and tips to all in the morning.

Goodnight and I look forward to tomorrow, frankly this whole next two weeks Smiley Not sure how many here celebrate, how many hate this time of year, I have a love/hate relationship with xmas but this year is positive so I'm humming and whistling and looking forward to the drunk family dinner and drama.

EDIT: I leave my machine on and logged in here when I sleep. Seeing me 'online' will probably happen a lot but I may not be here at the time. Still dealing with crappy 6minute wait times for PM's and posts too so pls be patient we're eager to chat to all!

Hi,

Please set up a block chain explorer. Abe is a free and open source software. See how it works here http://www.diamondblocks.info/chain/Diamond (Diamond block chain explorer)

EDIT 2: ^ We will get a bounty going for this too. If anyone cares to be proactive and make one and or any charting etc know you will get healthy rewards.

66 page thread for a premined coin? The pics are nice and all but really?

A large proportion of the premine has been used for giveaway already

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=380010.0

There is no way that makes up a "large proportion of the premine". The Earthcoin account recently made a nice post about bounties but seemed to completely ignore the posts about setting up a public ledger of the premine coins.

Earthcoin, is this not something you are willing to do?

Apologies, it didn't go unnoticed, threw the comment at the team, discussing, will address when ready as it's sensitive and not something we'll just ignore forever nor address in one swoop. In short it's also exposing our bare ass re what strategies we take, who is involved for future moves, sensitive marketing moves, disclosing others ID who may wish to stay under the radar, maybe exchanges or sensitive relationships being out in the open for competitors to see, amounts for certain tasks... premine programme to last potentially more than a year or more so tons of audits with sensitive classified info all made public is probably not going to happen, but again that's just first reaction and few layers of thought pulled back, will discuss more.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: December 23, 2013, 08:29:44 AM
Not sure if I should start a new thread for this or just keep it here.

General idea:

WILDCARD BOUNTY

There are things we'll need, and be setting a fixed bounty for once there is a standard value set by the community.

There are also going to be many other things that we won't think of, won't be able to do, won't have the man power or skill for, etc.

Going to basically say - if you have talent, skill, can put it to use for (proper) promo/growth/idea building/getting shops to accept us/anything to help, we'll bounty it.

There's a bit of fear that everyone's going to go nuts and overhype it with crappy graphics and meme's and do more damage than good, so I'm not sure how best to approach this with a good filter.

So:

Can you build an app? Pitch it!

You know how to build cool little iphone/droid/bb games for coins as rewards etc? < HOT! Big bounty's for good games (don't have to be complex, just good games/good graphics/even your older games rebranded, whatever, games+cryptocoins are something I think is going to be huge soon). Pitch us!

Are you a 3D artist? Videographer? Copywriter? Marketing genius with new tech/ideas? Own a big site and can accept our coin or even put up banners/get tons of new traffic to introduce new people to crypto?.. ..  .... .I think you get the idea.

We do want the best of the best vs volume sh*t and having the bounty total amount shrink big fast for one collective promo. So we'll be selective and ask that you not post your best or most sensitive ideas but PM them if you don't want others seeing them and don't want other coin owners stealing them. Also please don't go making huge campaigns then showing us, we'd really rather filter and prepare proper marketing assets for this and drip them over time.

EDIT: What is the new member policy/post count, still waiting 6min to reply to each PM (it's driving me a bit batty, keep losing long detailed reply's and having to re-write them. Learned to love CTRL+C again before pressing the button now not to lose them lol) - I believe i've made more than 14 posts/many more pm's now yet I still see 14 after every post I do.. Sorry in advance if we don't get back to you guys in a timely fashion.

Linux wallet:

EDIT: wrong link - brb -

This is the correct version - has both 32+64bit - thanks and bounty going out to groucha for doing this.

http://earthcoin.biz/earthcoin_linux.tgz

Smiley Confirmation that it's fine would be appreciated (perhaps you'll get a tip too, so include your eac addy).

EDIT2: STILL NEED A MAC WALLET - BOUNTY 100,000 EAC

what's the word on a working linux client?

Coming now - we'd love someone to verify it asap once they test it please.

Will post a link in the next 10-20min.
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: December 23, 2013, 03:54:31 AM
It's great there is this much interested in mining it, but when will it be listed on an exchange and coinmarketcap?

The major exchanges don't normally list coins released as a vehicle to enrich the devs with a scandalous premine. Don't hold your breath.

Would like to address this again.

Limbaugh, thank you for your critique and I understand/hear the criticism loud and clear. Nothing I say here can make you feel at ease but I'm going to try anyway.

People have been trying to launch the ultimate balance of maths/coins/volume/premine/etc. since the alt scene hit. Some have premined 0%, 1%, 10%, 50% and recently 98%. None have really managed to get it right and all can be looked at as Limbaugh describes if one chooses to. If we did absolutely no premine, nobody would have incentive and we'd be doing everything in-house. If we did 10% people would freak out way more, 50% to 90% and ok you got yourself a very risky situation.

This balance of everything that we chose to try to enter the market with, and the rate we steadily see the coins being distributed/mined = by the time any exchanges open up - we hope there will be way more mined, bountied, givenaway than any of the bigger holders can dump on. I personally do NOT want to see anyone sell any for a long time but that's human nature, some will sell all fast - some won't. This project has personally been extremely taxing on my time/stress/dealing with the growth this fast/I don't think I could go down this journey again. Thus this one has to count and we will be doing anything we can to ensure that nobody has the ability to simply kill it, including anyone in the internal team.

While I can't preach that 'we got it right' just yet, a lot of thought went into how to roll out and no matter what the combo of variables I think we would still get some critics so no harm no foul. Just part of the process of entering an exploding industry that deserves criticism due to the risk involved.

Actions speak louder than words and we're trying our best to show you guys good strategy and a safe long term journey with good damage control for unforeseens and critics. However until that happens naturally - I welcome skeptics and critics to watch from the sidelines with eyebrow raised and let time tell if you'd like to be involved or not. Until then there is no need to assume anything negative please - give us a chance and at least some benefit of doubt before throwing this under the bus, and you just might be pleasantly surprised by this projects results in 2014.

Thank you.
908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: December 23, 2013, 01:03:28 AM
Just a general update for now:

Deviant has been compensated with eac and we appreciate the patch a lot. Smiley It is now officially part of our github set (was removed to audit/compare for a short while, it's there now for good).

Dev team is monitoring closely and still comparing/auditing, glad to see more and more pools stabilizing.

Those asking for exchanges, we'd actually rather NOT be on any yet. Still need time to let this get mined and adopted, giveaways complete for a few rounds, bounty's/tools getting developed, some shops taking on the coin, etc. We fear that if Cryptsy lists it as is now it may have the same effect as many that get listed prematurely and phase out after initial spike.

Feel free to suggest tools you guys would like - we'd be happy to have you help us shape a part of the bounty collectively for most useful stuff for you guys to have available. Device apps, checkers/tickers/calculators/prediction tools, cool marketing assets, write-ups/instructions (even for the most basic stuff/wallet use/install/mining - all nicely branded etc for the noob to crypto to understand easily).. Also perhaps a new website contest if you guys aren't feeling this one.

We should have some source files available soon too for any designers out there re photoshop and vector originals of the logo's, color pallets, gold coins etc.

Still have a bounty out for a MAC build of the client for 100,000eac

Linux 32bit client done - will be available on the website and I'll post a link here soon.

Checking the sales thread, it's interesting watching a community balance out and set an initial value to these coins, first time seeing this part of the process myself. I'm sure the balance will happen naturally before any large volume is moved or exchanges set us up (if others care to pitch in feel free, values are all over the board and I assume this is what happens on brand new coins).

Thank you.

Terribly sorry for the delay, we're still inspecting here, please be patient with the final github and the dev's post, he will have an official update later in the day.

Thank you kindly.

Thanks for so much interest guys!

We have been absolutely bombarded with attention - please rest (ahhhh rest < that word sounds so good right now) ressst assured that you will all receive your coins even if it takes a day for us to catch up on all giveaways.

Thank you!
911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: December 22, 2013, 11:43:42 AM
Already sent Deviant a PM to say a heartwarming thank you, however I'd like to do it here as well.

THANK YOU DEVIANT! (we're still trying to inspect/figure this out in more detail, however I do want to say thank you in advance for your efforts and time/desire to even give a crap to help). If this doesn't fix it - at least there is a starting point to compare from something that IS working perfectly.

Please don't mind the dev being overly cautious and simply not wanting any unforeseens or negatives to happen from messing with the code or patches etc.

I'm sorry if I painted the dev as 'perfect' in the OP - and or as having built the bestest alt ever - my fault. I simply wanted to point out that he's been down this road so there is at least some experience not a first run being reactive to everything vs proactive/knowing what to expect (including to expect the unexpected).

Really nice to see good hospitality by you guys, +1 bitcointalk for working together on this.

Back in a bit.
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *EarthCoin* EAC/BTC GOOGLE DOC Exchange *EarthCoin* on: December 22, 2013, 09:23:27 AM
It's been interesting watching you guys try to find a price/value to start this off at.

Would also like to see the community sort of balance out who to trust/how to verify trusted sellers however we cannot take on that responsibility and we're noticing people are setting up fb groups, twitters, blogs, sales threads like this one, and other things that usually an in-house team would do. We can't - due to both resources of people, time, and the speed this crazy crypto world works - and the way you guys seem to adopt/take ambassador roles to rep it well for all involved = is like nothing I've seen before and I've been in marketing/viral campaigns a long time.

So please - as the community starts to fill in the blanks for this project, and before any official exchanges accept this (no rush btw, we want steady growth not a huge spike) - do your own diligence before doing ANY trades/exchanges - and start to build reps for those that show trust and or already have it on this forum and are interested in this project.

This thread is not an official in-house thing - nor are the prices being set by anyone internally. It's VERY interesting watching how the community sets a value to a new coin (first time for me seeing this part of the process and I'm fascinated by it). If and when other threads or exchanges or forums pop up we'll also list them in the OP of our main thread too - this one just seemed to be the first, however again - please use extreme diligence with your EAC trades.

Thank you.
913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: December 22, 2013, 08:39:48 AM
First problem - some better instructions on the linux wallet please, people getting bogged down trying to get it going - issues with libraries.
I know it's linux but usability is still important and it would be nice to have it like windows for ease of use - probably a lot better for security and confidence too.

I've tried a bunch of different coins and usually there is some issue getting the linux going, and the readme is usually not enough to fix it.

All those nice front ends for miners and clients tend to be for windows. I'd love a CGminer gui like the one available for windows so I could do my configs in a snap rather than trolling through files, making endless petty typos and wondering where I went wrong. Who wants to be going through the CGminer conf file looking for a misplaced comma ? But these things seem to never get made for linux - shame.

But aside from that, knowing that the wallet is going to be usable without a struggle would be very cool.

I gave up on getting the linux wallet going for this coin, and used the windows instead on my dual boot setup - but it's a drag to reboot just to see if my earthcoin is going OK.

And if people are serious about crypto currencies as a way of getting round monopolistic money systems then they should be going for as little centralised, monopolistic operating systems as possible too.

Thanks for taking the time/detailed message.

On the previous page (or 2-3 now) we put up the first bounty for someone to compile a linux and a mac wallet for us so we can distribute from the OP and site... guessing the pages are flying by, going to try again here in big/bold.

FIRST BOUNTY BUMPED

We need:
A MAC wallet compiled safely for distribution from our site.
A LINUX wallet - same.

Still new to this side of it but the dev doesn't have a mac and I'm told the pool owners already have a linux one they could provide for the community to use?

First person to do these gets 100,000 EAC.

Putting the pre-mine to one side... I have no idea why any coin developer that is serious about his/her coin does not have a suite of apps ready at launch, at least an e-wallet, android app, iphone app, paper wallets to start. I like the concept of the EarthCoin with or without the pre-mine since it fits my image as an organic vegetable and fruit farmer and seller, but how I am or my customers ever to be able to make any use of this coin without basic e-commerce tools.

I am hoping the dev team use some of those 270,000,000 coins to finance a suite of apps and tools, the sooner, the better and not waste them on giveaways and useless promotions.

If the admin and dev want to contact me for ideas and concepts, do so by PM, I will be happy to use EarthCoin in my businesses, starting tomorrow. Actually, this is tailor made for my business and costumers...

Buy this.... .

with this...

Brilliant!!!

+1 good post. We'll be in touch and yes we'd like to have apps/tools however this industry moves SO fast, that we feel it's beneficial for all if some of this stuff is done by the actual community - and that the community SEES that it's done by them. Also - in keeping with the thought of being decentralized, I don't think we are going to have an 'official' forum, facebook, twitter, etc. as to leave it to the public and be transparent without a way to centrally influence, censor, etc. and to protect us from anyone claiming they are the 'official' anything on the coins behalf, there isn't one Wink. < Still talking about all this and the team isn't big so we hope the community does indeed both give it life/light, and self polices vs looking to central points of in-house systems.

Thank you all again for your continued patience while this normalizes. The scrutiny and critiques are important for us.

I'd like to open discussion for a few posts with those with experience re what could have happened during our launch - as to prevent future coins or others that maintain them from having this happen to them. Had a very productive convo with the dev about the art of crypto sabotage from competing coins/pools/miners/scammers/pr stunts/etc etc that he experienced his last time in the market, and we're already starting to see.

Dev has gone over the code many times, it's par. Nothing was out of the ordinary yesterday compared to any other coins launch except the reaction from the market.

So - it might not matter, but I'm an analytical person and would like to understand more. What 'else' could have happened yesterday either by design or by an unforeseen that may have caused the sync/retarget/etc issue? One huge warehouse rig setup hitting us first/fast? Other coin owners discovering a way to sabotage a launch/somehow screw the diff crazy high and leave? Did we simply do way too much pre-promo and it suffered from a bombardment of people as of the moment the client was released? ??

Would like to hear your .02, and learn a bit more about the crazy tech side of the backend.
I think things went relatively well. Everyone just wanted to get in on this coin from the beginning. I think the pre-launch thread was the way to go. Difficulty seems to have stabilized. Some serious hash being thrown at it right now. For the coin's stability it would be best to get the hash evened out among pools. Right now Vircupool has Pool Hashrate: 640.540 MH/s.  Network Hashrate: 578.329 MH/s. Dangerous situation if who ever is running VircurPool wanted to fork the chain.

^ Thanks for that.

EDIT: Pool owners please take note and please monitor/prevent rates from getting too high.

Wait until we start our giveaways and bounty's.

We wanted to be transparent and put the 2% openly in the OP, you guys didn't copy the important part though (to be used for giveaways, bounty's, ongoing support/dev, dist., etc.). It would be silly to simply dump first chance you got or anyone got, we'd be back to square one starting over fast. We want to create enough to distribute and then have mining still be at a rate where these have some rarity to them and not have a super short lifecycle or blanket the market with them or start with zero/no incentive for anyone.

There has to be a balance and we figured 2% would be good and healthy for all + enough to give away to make people want to hold for longevity.

Feedback appreciated as always. We expected to see this brought up and are open to suggestions.
