901  Local / Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India) / Re: Got scammed by localbitcoins trader Prateeketc. Help required on: November 12, 2021, 03:14:25 PM
You should not comment on something you have no idea about. If Police complaint is made and Court asks for this data LocalBitcoins.com has every reason to divulge details of this scammer, despite the fact that the trade did not take place on LocalBitcoins. Why? Becuase, if they're not compliant to a Court Order, Government of India may direct ISPs to block LocalBitcoins and start operation against those who trade over there. LocalBitcoins has no reason to lose a market as big as India to save a F**king scammer.
Nobody is stopping you if you can convince the police and court that, LBC can find the scammer and return the money which is actually scammed but I think you have no idea and if I am not wrong it will take atleast 20 years for all this process.
902  Local / India / Re: 5 Reasons why every Indian should invest in Bitcoin on: October 31, 2021, 11:00:05 AM
Cryptocurrencies are already started to be one of the preferred assets to invest in India as well but when we are talking about the middle class they are misguided already since they are more inclined towards DOGE and Shiba Inu rather than bitcoin due to the greedy tech youtubers who have zero knowledge about cryptocurrency and blockchain still promoting these shits for their benefits.

Lacking activities in our localboard is also a sign for this in my opinion.
903  Local / India / Re: A perfect utilization of cryptocurrency technology on: October 29, 2021, 12:30:22 PM
This has good and bad side to be honest, as long as people are paying the taxes this will work but we never know how people are using this loophole to evade taxes that is why Central bank is still trying to restrict the cryptocurrency conversions on exchanges.
904  Local / India / Re: India has the highest number of crypto users - over 10 crore on: October 20, 2021, 04:07:48 PM
10 crore looks too much and its atleast 100 times higher than actual numbers in my opinion but the good thing is many of the Indians heard about bitcoin atter the covid but don't think they hold any amount of cryptocurrencies.
905  Local / India / Re: Which Indian Exchange supports Tron USDT deposit? on: September 29, 2021, 10:14:20 AM
None of them I guess even checked the coinswitch too.

But you can take a look at the LBC traders list there might be someone who is selling or buying bitcoin for multiple altcoins as well.

If you still can't find a way then you have to choose binance where convert USDT=>BTC then sell BTC=>INR on any Indian exchanges.
906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker casino but need KYC, is this really necessary? on: August 31, 2021, 01:46:54 PM
KYC verification means your safety will be publicly for the Casino people to understand your profile and your true identity that's why in recent times all the types of casinos try to to implement this KYC process to make it more trustable and more safer for the and investors that's why I also think that this will be e necessary for the investors.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin better than Fiat? on: August 31, 2021, 12:32:21 PM
Yes bitcoin is better than fiat currency because most people will invest in bitcoin and it is very profitable so many people invest in bitcoin more than Fiat  the investment is based on the future only you can invest in Bitcoin make the profit easily in few years that's why investment in Bitcoin more better than any other currencies.
908  Local / Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India) / Re: Got scammed by localbitcoins trader Prateeketc. Help required on: August 30, 2021, 01:40:02 AM
Myself shahid from mumbai. I had an old stash of btc with me which i wanted to cash out. I choose to deal from localbitcoins. Since i did not have a verfied account there, i decided to contact a trader and execute a deal outside of localbitcoins.

I first contacted "Abidhussainf" but our times did not match so i went ahead and contacted another trader who goes by the id "Prateeketc". I contacted him on his whatsapp number  8217331774. He replied quickly and we dealt without escrow for Rs. 20000. Since the deal was successful, i decided to proceed with another deal of 50000 INR to which i sent him around 0.015 btc. He assured me that he will send me the funds in 10 minutes after which he went offline from whatsapp and even blocked me on calls now.

I got in touch with the local police station today who refereed me to cyber crime bran to register a case of fraud. They have asked me to submit his details asap. If anybody here has any details about this person kindly let me know.

Also it would be great if you guys please suggest me what other option i have to recover my amount
As per your information, this is the profile link of the scammer - https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/Prateeketc/. It seems he has ID, Passport or Driver’s license verified with LocalBitcoins. You must have a copy of your police report with you as well. Provide it to the LocalBitcoins support and ask for scammer's ID and hand it over to police. If support doesn't cooperate, take screenshot and provide it to Police as well.

Do NOT back out from chasing these scammers.
Localbitcoin has no reason to provide details of someone who is verified there since everything happened is outside of the Localbitcoin platform.

You can raise a complaint to your cyber cell or by using this website https://cybercrime.gov.in/Accept.aspx and obviously they will formward this case to your local police station and verify your FIR as well then they will start investigation.

But bitter truth is nothing is going to happen as soon as possible, it may take years or even forever to find this case.

But you can do one thing here to hold your funds which you sent to the scammer account by contacting your bank account manager or the customer support then you can tell that this funds were sent from your account without your authorization or you send this for an online purchase but you didn't get the product so the bank will contact the Prateeketc and wait for his explanation and if you still not convinced then the funds will be under Lien until the dispute gets over.
909  Local / India / Re: Whats happening with Binance/WazirX on: August 29, 2021, 12:10:06 AM
Important update about Wazirx INR withdrawal, all the transactions related to withdrawal for pending for hours but now everything seems cleared so anyone is waiting for their withdrawal can process and get the funds back to your account.

In the recent days, INR deposits and withdrawals has been an issue and anyone knows the reason behind the maintenance from Wazirx too often?

It is an ongoing issue and nowadays with WazirX, it has been happening quite frequently now. Few days back they suddenly stopped Tron deposit. One of my friend told me that his tron were stuck in the Blockchain for 72 hours. Later on when the opened Tron deposit, it took them another 24 hours to update his tron. I think they are not able to handle such an influx of new users.
Trading volumes have been increased a lot so they also should increase their service for sure, and after the Binance taking over the wazirx they have been doing very good service but only in the recent days they are having such issues.

Also read somewhere that ICICI is creating some terms against the crypto purchases an wazirx is actually using ICICI for the fiat transactions that is why the issue with withdrawals and deposits of INR coming too often! Roll Eyes
910  Local / India / Re: Buying BTC in India on: August 27, 2021, 05:58:30 PM
Now many exchange are give opportunity to buy btc in easy way but I think Wazrix and binance exchange are best  for buying btc because we can easily deposit own currency and buy from p2P and don't issue any scam and also have a very low fee
No need to use wazirx p2p to buy bitcoin, simply use the tradebook for buying it even wazirx mentioned about it on their p2p page.

And their trading fee and zero deposit fee for crypto is good but when it comes to withdrawal you have to pay nearly $30 for BTC and $20 above for all other coins.

If you really want to buy BTC via p2p then use LBC but using p2p in India will lead you to lot of scammers like hacked accounts, etc.

You can also use https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/ to learn about bitcoin but reference the source since these al are public source so users are just sharing the opinion which doesn't mean that its 100% right all the time.

If you still can't find then just create a thread and ask your query! Smiley
912  Local / India / Re: Best Indian Crypto Youtubers on: August 26, 2021, 09:11:43 PM
Sorry to say this but nobody is best because they are always trying to lure their subscribers with clickbait title and thumbnails but what they are doing is just pushing their referrals to all their subscribers to register on crypto related platforms or making them to pay for the online courses which is basically a shit to be honest.

Some youtubers gave good explanation about bitcoin they were actually from India but made videos in English since Hindi is not the only language spoken in India.

Stop following the general tech channels when it comes to bitcoin because they don't have any actual knowledge they simply replicate what has been told in the Wikipedia page of Bitcoin.

Here we have some of the veterans with good technical knowledge about cryptocurrency, if they have free time then they should enter into the YouTube and start teaching what is actually the cryptos and technical knowledge behind it.

914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The use of Bitcoin as a local currency! on: August 25, 2021, 10:10:28 AM
Using bitcoin in our daily life is not going to happen now because you know some countries banned it but in future there's lots of possibilities that we can use as local currency and some don't really know anything about bitcoin or the idea of cryptocurrency so that's also reason and some companies already accepting bitcoin.
915  Local / India / Re: NEW PEOPLE JOINING INDIAN SUB: INTRO AND MERIT on: August 25, 2021, 07:33:26 AM
I saw that H_H back with his raffles so let's see we are going to get the traffic again or not, personally I am kind of busy with my works especially in this covid so didn't have enough time to engage with the community but I will try to post more here when I have something to share with our community. And also thanks for Hhampuz for encouraging localboard users. Kiss

I am yet to be technically strong with bitcoin technology but with trading I have been successful now and now I am more trading on Wazirx which is giving best user experience than other exchanges in my opinion.

Thank you veterans for encouraging newbies!
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the best time to invest in Bitcoin on: August 24, 2021, 06:13:40 PM
I don't think this is the best time to invest in bitcoin you should have invested in the past i don't think this is the right time to invest it's just my opinion if you want to invest you can invest at anytime but you have to take the risk if you can't take the risk maybe you should wait till the price drop then you can invest with no hesitation.
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crytpo coin/tokens??? on: August 24, 2021, 03:52:01 PM
All kind of crypto coin is risky to invest even if it's a bitcoin it's always risky but there are some crypto coins that most people trust so they invest in that but if you're going to invest in a new crypto coin go do some research about that coin you're going to invest get some advice from the people that have invested in that certain coin so they can give you some advice like when you should invest and when you should not invest and that's pretty much it.
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be more effective in the future on: August 24, 2021, 10:36:20 AM
Yes bitcoin will be very effective in future it will definitely change lot of things even now everyone knows about bitcoin but using them in everyday will take time so we can use bitcoin and other cryptocurrency in our daily life in our future probably not now because some country banned it in political side it's different right we are progressing but sometimes some people don't understand about it that's why it's taking lot of time or else it could have been efficient now.
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin called “Bitcoin”? on: August 24, 2021, 08:14:46 AM

I think no one really knows about it and it will not make any difference if it was a little different name everyone only cares about growth of the bitcoin.
920  Local / India / Re: NEW PEOPLE JOINING INDIAN SUB: INTRO AND MERIT on: August 23, 2021, 03:30:24 PM

Apart from that, this train has just been slowly chugging along. I keep bumping up my merit thread for newbies but they mostly get lost in the maze of global subs, hunting for bounties after a few posts of engagement. So, As you can tell, Noting's changed..Welcome back.. Hope life is treating you well..
There are lot of Indians are active in the bitcointalk but they forget to visit their sub board, probably due to lack of merit distribution just my opinion. And also most signature campaign doesn't count the local board post so they feel there is no incentive if they are active in their board.

Do you have any idea to bring the posters into this sub board?
