901  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think selling your property is better than taking loan? on: July 22, 2023, 08:41:00 PM
snip

I just decided to put this up here to see what you guys think about it. If you are in a situation that requires some funds immediately, would you go for a loan or would you sell one of your properties to solve the problem? And which of them is a better option, to sell property or to take a loan?
you have really helped that person even though you didn't give him a loan, but Anag helped sell the belongings of the person who needed it.

actually i don't really mind loans, if i really need it in large amounts what else when it's urgent then i will apply for loans to friends, relatives or banks (when the person concerned can't give me a loan)
we will not know what will happen in the future, so it is very important for us to make as much money as possible while we are still able to make money, don't let it happen when an emergency or urgent happens, we are confused where to look for money.
902  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 22, 2023, 07:26:21 PM
I was in argument with someone. His view is that people who gamble are those that what they have is not sufficient for them and so they try to make more money from gambling. He said if you have sufficient money to take care of your needs that you won't think of gambling. He made reference to some rich people, who don't gamble because they have sufficient money to even gift to charity but that those rich who still gamble are only addicted to it not just because of the money. Therefore, that the percentage of the rich gambling is very small compared to those in middle class and lower class.

So my question is, is the percentage of the rich gambling lower than the middle and lower class?
i don't agree with this person's view, how can a poor person gamble when he has difficulty making money for himself (but mostly poor people play the lottery)
the majority of gamblers are middle-class and upper-middle-class people, they make money already so the gambling activities they do are just for fun.  usually rich people gamble on games they like like cards or sports betting (which don't rely purely on luck), it's rare to play slots because according to them, slots are just a game of chance and don't require good analytical skills, while the rich are trained to do that.
903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $1,080 Billion powerball lotto winner in the USA on: July 21, 2023, 07:57:34 PM
I just saw a news on youtube that someone won the $1,080 Billion jackpot prize on the Powerball lotto in the US. In the video I watched, someone claims that she was the winner, but as of now, there is still no official announcement from the lottery organization. also, the store where the winning ticket was bought will receive a $1 Million bonus from the organization.

anyway, it still really surprises me that if the winner decides to take the prize in one lump sum, they will only get half of the total price because of the taxes that will be taken out.

here's the video I saw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LINxj6C-00c
i have watched this video and am touched by the victory that this woman got, she used all the luck in her life in just 1 day and won an enormous jackpot, the thing that i highlight is how could she exposed the identity of this woman, she won the lottery and surely she will not be safe and comfortable again when her face is exposed, i'm quite curious about what will happen to her.  i hope she and her family stay safe because the value of her victory really makes people feel great envy, congrats to that woman.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 21, 2023, 04:44:20 PM
The next surprise is likely to be a bit controversial, there have been rumors Pep Guardiola will leave the club after successfully bring Manchester City to the top of the Premier League and ucl, yes although I hope that never happens. But Pep's past at Barcelona became a reference where he left Barca when the team was experience great success because it win various competitions.
Previously, news of Pep Guardiola's move had surfaced after it was reported that Man City had committed financial irregularities a few months ago, but until Man City succeeded in winning the UCL and EPL, the case did not ripple again.  From the speculation that is circulating because Pep Guardiola has played for Roma, he will move to the Italian league, Pep is the smartest coach at the moment, surely many teams are eager to bring him to the club, every team he handles must be very tough and undeniable he is a great coach.
905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 20, 2023, 04:26:40 PM
It's not right for me to talk before the season starts. They said similar things about Naples last year. Napoli won the league by a clear point margin. We can see a similar picture this year. It will be announced a few weeks after the start of the league. I think Napoli will perform well again.
The season will start in a few weeks, but we can see Napoli's performance with their new coach when they face a friendly match against Anaune Val di non, friendly matches are usually used by coaches to find the best strategy for their team, after against Anaune, Napoli will face SPAL, even though in my opinion those two are easy matches for them but if the strategy used by the new Napoli coach is not right, the opponents will take advantage of these weaknesses to face Napoli in the future.  the new coach of Napoli really feels a heavy burden, everyone will not stop comparing him to the old coach if it turns out that Napoli's performance is lousy.
906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Int.Team - Int.Club & All Friendly Matches Thread on: July 20, 2023, 10:06:00 AM
Al Nassr will face Benfica, in this match many doubted that Al Nassr would win after they lost 5-0 to Celta Vigo.  football observers continue to criticize the performance of al nassr's front line if cristiano is not played, well al nassr is very dependent on cristiano ronaldo.  i see benfica has good strength to beat al nassr, the probability is big enough for them to win, i will choose benfica in my bet.

after facing benfica.. al nassr's next opponents are PSG and Inter, these two teams are very good for al nassr, moreover they need more experience against big European teams.
907  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: July 19, 2023, 09:05:38 PM
I reluctantly followed the counsel of a financial advisor to fix my finances in order by creating a budget and tracking my expenses, inflow and outflow of cash using an excel sheet. The economy has been crazy in my country so I needed to do something urgently. My greatest realization after this is that inflation all round is destroying my budget. It's been  five months now. I am torn between using my emergency funds or selling some of my assets to cushion the effect of this economic situation. What do you suggest I do?
You can use 30% each of your emergency fund and your assets to meet your daily needs as long as inflation is still going on, the period of inflation causes an imbalance between income and expenditure, that's the reason why many people are in great trouble when the government is unable to reduce inflation wisely and precisely.

also avoid buying unnecessary items and postpone your vacation plans with your family (if you have those plans), as long as your economy is not stable, be consistent in maintaining your financial condition.
908  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: July 19, 2023, 07:51:43 PM
Inflation can come at any time, that's what i heard from my lecturer when i was still in college, and tips to escape inflation are to save as early as possible.  usually inflation will not last long (depending on how the political conditions in the country are)

my little advice for you to get a little out of the bad effects of inflation that occurs is to look for additional income and invest in assets that are immune to inflation such as gold and bitcoin.  even rich people try hard to find income from anywhere to reduce the impact of inflation on their finances...

909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 18, 2023, 06:06:16 PM
OP you're partially right because the number of females that's has interest in gambling is not very much compared to males, and in the 80's and 90's some society do not tolerate or allow their daughters to partake in the act of gambling, and anyone that doesn't out of stubbornness are considered bad, arrogant and disrespectful to their parents and that in return make suitors avoid them, some out of fear have to quit because they feel they've brought shame to the family.

Also change they say is Constant and in the present time more women are beginning to pick interest in it due to some factors,
•Gender equality.
•Love of sports, they're gambling with friends on the team of athlete they support.
•Job opportunity in casinos
•Peer pressure from male friends.
•Rapid adaption of females in various sports activities, eg females soccer leagues and NBA teams.
However you're right to say men have the upper hand when it comes to the world of gambling because majority of males are more exposed to sports, casinos activities whereas more females find it difficult to understand and read the game and would prefer other entertainment areas like movies, music which does not relate to or involve more of gambling.

this is very much highlighted in this modern era, liberal adherents believe that gender equality is real and must be fought for but in some countries and cultures it is often considered that liberalism is wrong, it returns to their respective regions and i am a little bit not so supportive liberal understanding, even though gender equality is good, women must have different duties and rights from men, it returns to their respective families how to take care of their children and must be able to tell what is not allowed and what is allowed to be done by girls or boys.

Quote
Liberal is a term used in political, social, and economic contexts to describe thoughts or beliefs that emphasize individual freedom, human rights, and the limited role of government in regulating people's lives.
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling everywhere on: July 18, 2023, 04:45:08 PM
Gambling gambling gambling everywhere there are gamblers everywere either online or shops and some gamblers are not happy to be one because they are addicted to it, now come to the present day question, how do you feel after making a stake? People on these forum mostly gambling board, lot of people here do say we should use spare money to make a bet (stake) but we all know that there is nothing like a spare money if people save money for future use I don't think a well thinking person will also save money for gambling, I think everybody who gambled sometimes does not know when they are in a gambling shops, just imagine you're about to check your past bets and you find your self about to stake another, please don't see it the other way round.
So if you use our saved money to stake a bet, what really comes next to your mind? I will like us to talk about this.

Gambling is an activity that you will never encounter around you, especially if you live in a country where gambling is legal, so don't be surprised by this phenomenon.  anyway, one of the activities that i avoid is keeping track of my losses and wins in gambling, i feel that it will burden me, especially if it turns out that from all my gambling activities that i do, i don't get any profits! but losing, it will only add to my mind's burden.

However, some financial experts recommend that gamblers record the cash flow they get from gambling every month, the goal is to stop gambling or just reduce its intensity.
911  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: July 18, 2023, 04:26:08 PM
Getting an MBA is beneficial because it sets you apart from the rest of the pack. One of the advantages of an MBA is that it forces you to read and learn, which helps you expand your knowledge about any business you want to venture into. I strongly believe that one of the reasons why start-ups fail is because they lack a solid foundation in understanding frameworks and conducting their own research, instead of relying solely on purchased data. While it is true that not everyone may be able to afford an MBA program, the truth is that there is so much to learn from it. If you had the opportunity to pursue an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company, which option would you choose?

Most of successful entrepreneurs get their MBA at the end, not at the beginning, because their goal is to deepen their knowledge and not find a job (unlike those who pursue an MBA at the beginning, usually to find a job)

but very few people can do both (running a company while studying too), it will never be easy, I've tried it and it's very tiring (problems and busyness experienced in business and in college can split focus), the best way is to finish one by one what you think is good and comfortable (finish college first or make a stable business first)
912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: risk nothing, you're risking more on: July 18, 2023, 03:57:10 PM
since 2018 which is over 5 years when I got information about Bitcoin I have lost lots of opportunity that could have changed my life because I choose to be reluctant from concrete friends advise concerning Bitcoin because, through investment of cyptocurrency many of my pals have been scammed  and the downtrend movement in 2018 also got me discouraged so i concluded that Bitcoin was not worth the risk for me, and
now I have come to regret from the discission i made due to ignorance because over the years it progress has really attracted my attention, so i met a friend who is now i successful investor and he introduced me to this platform

seeing the success, growth and progress of the platform, I want to personally appreciate the members from legendary to newbies like me for keeping this platform running and going

Thank you very much for your supports and consistency
besides you, at first i also rejected bitcoin because at that time i thought it was just a gambling coin but over time, i was curious and found out in more detail what bitcoin was then i realized that my thoughts about bitcoin were wrong, after i found out about bitcoin with detail, i also fully support bitcoin to be adopted and continue to exist.

bitcoin is risky when you expect to get rich in a short time from bitcoin but if you don't expect bitcoin to go up and you don't sell at a loss then you won't find any risk in investing in bitcoin.
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 17, 2023, 08:06:40 PM
It seems that Joao Felix's return to Atletico Madrid did not make him Happy. It seems that he still can't get in touch with Diego Simeone. With these bad rumors, Joao Felix has been linked with many clubs wanting him. I think Joao Felix is a good player, at Chelsea he was not at his maximum because of the coach. There is news Barcelona and Man United are interested in Atletico's most expensive player. Of course they can take advantage of this bad moment to get Joao Felix.
felix is still young and talented but his ego is still quite high, previously it was reported that PSG were interested in buying him but a few hours ago PSG management stated that these were all just rumors and would not happen.  Manchester United continues to be associated with him, but with Ten Hag's training style which is hard enough, I doubt he will be comfortable at Man Utd.

the president of atletico madrid stated that he was still very much needed at the club and loved there, maybe his relationship with the ATM coach had to be repaired immediately so that his performance would improve again in the team.
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: July 17, 2023, 06:26:15 PM
But there's a friend of mine that takes gambling as his main source of income for several years already. Not with playing slots, roulette, etc., or being a sports bettor but he's really damn good at playing billiards. Even way back during our younger days, he is seen as having potential at that sport and is currently, now one of the most skilled and popular billiard players here in our community. He always has a match every day and it involves a big stake. Playing gambling on that sport for many years, he already provided a good life for his family.

However, my friend's success in gambling as his major income is not surely possible for anyone. It's possible to take gambling as a major income but surely, it requires special considerations that would be hard to achieve by most people who are eyeing that goal.
it's not impossible that someone can make a good living from betting but not everyone is lucky to be able to do that, apart from billiard players, poker and chess players who are reliable around my area can buy cars only from the bets they make, it's all because of the skills they have support them to make good money.  but increasing age can make concentration decrease, so that the ability to maintain focus on games that are mastered also decreases, if so then skill-based gamblers will lose to young players, you can say income from gambling will not last long-term.

915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 17, 2023, 06:07:35 PM
If Tuchel feel Sadio Mane is not his plan for next season he should let him go afterall his brief stint at Bayern Munich had not been productive and had a mediocre performance last season probably might be due to the injury he sustained before the World Cup,Sadio Mane had already played his best football while at Liverpool and won UCL trophy, EPL trophy etc with the club , now that Al-Nasri is offering a lucrative offer he should accept it and move on, Saudi Arabian league has now signed a good numbers of aging European players at least their league would also be competitive apart from the juicy weekly wages paid which had been attracting European players to the league.

Quote
Mane failed to live up to expectations
Tuchel admitted he was disappointed
The striker is on the club's sale list

i keep reading rumors about Tuchel's dissatisfaction with Sadio Mane and if these rumors continue to blow then Sadio Mane will be released to another team, the news also states that Al-Ettifaq is very interested in buying Mane at a fairly high price, in my opinion if Mane moves to the arab league is only for money then his career in football will be dim and there will be no team from the european league who will be interested in him, so far the teams in the arab league only attract old star players who only chase money and mane is still young enough to playing in the European league.
916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 17, 2023, 12:12:07 PM
Guardiola is not a new coach he knows how to replace players who have left Manchester City, I'm sure he will get new players to replace the missing important player positions in his team squad, although in the end there is a process of time to adapt again, but with Guardiola's choice of course I sure he will find the right players considering his next goal is again to be better than last season.

At least Manchester City didn't lose other important players and only a few could possibly be replaced with new players who have more potential and are much better, I believe Manchester City will win the league this season including the UCL, although it's a bit hard to see that there has been a change in Madrid's strength too. with the young players there. but Guardiola knows how to beat them in the UCL.  Wink
Seeing how Pep Guardiola gave great success to Man City, i truly recognize his sharpness as a coach, even now i really remember how he immediately threw away Joe Hart when he was just inaugurated by the management of Man City to become a coach.

In this new season, Man City will face other great EPL teams who have successfully carried out several major overhauls in their squad, such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd, even so, the chances for Man City to become EPL champions again are still great because no drastic changes have occurred at the club.
917  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 16, 2023, 09:09:41 PM
There are many diverse opinions about following one's passion and wealth. I read two stories of people who followed their passion, and in a short period of time, the businesses became very profitable.

In story 1, Defossey left a job at Apple to open a BBQ restaurant in Mexico City. It made $9 million in sales last year. In story 2, Sean Audet, a 30-year-old, spent $0 launching a food photography side hustle, and now he brings in $134,000 a year.

The people in these stories followed their passion and created wealth through it. What is your opinion on following one's passion in relation to wealth? Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? If yes, what is stopping you from following it?
there are many success stories that happened because they chose to follow their passion rather than being under someone else's company but there are also many failure stories of someone who followed their passion and chose to return to being an employee.  i mean the path to success for everyone is different, you may be lucky to be successful with the passion you have but other people may not necessarily be able to emulate it, even so don't give up for anyone, reach for your dreams as hard as possible and find the best way to achieve it.

Hello guys,
I'm happy to be part of this community, and so far I've realized that everyone is more experienced than me, so I don't know how logical it is to ask this question, but I'll ask it anyway.

Is it the right time to invest in Bitcoin?

All my friends are talking about cryptocurrencies, but I still can't wrap my head around it. What would you recommend for someone who has no previous experience? Do any of you have resources that you can recommend to me that will explain cryptocurrencies in the shortest and most simple way?
If you have any success stories you would like to share, I would be very grateful if I could benefit from them as well...
what kind of success story do you mean?  whether that story is like vitalik or CZ?

it is not easy to understand cryptocurrencies in detail when you are not ready to accept the change of mind you will experience, you will wonder how it can attract so many people to buy (for example bitcoin and ETH)

Quote
Cryptocurrencies, or cryptocurrencies in English, are digital or virtual forms of currency that use cryptographic technology to secure financial transactions, control the creation of new units, and verify asset transfers. Cryptocurrencies are not regulated or controlled by a central government authority such as a central bank.
in an article briefly explained what cryptocurrency is

but for more information about cryptocurrency (about bitcoin or altcoins) you can try to search for ticks on Google, there are already many answers that are definitely available, don't be lazy to find out and read.  always remember that it is not too late for beginners to invest in bitcoin.
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling on: July 16, 2023, 07:51:36 PM
The phone addiction you mentioned is right, if you go out without your phone there is a kind of boredom that you will feel because we are so compactible and accustomed with our phone but we can't even help that or can we ?  Grin Maybe for online addicts, phone addiction could be termed as positive addiction. Yes if you miss to gamble for sometime probably because you are busy in another schedule and you don't regret not gambling it means you are walking away from addiction. In fact, for an addict no other schedule come first if not gambling and betting the day's game.
Gambling are more accessible now, and that's why many are getting addict easily because they are so obsessed with their phones as well.
Social media also affect your emotion, and that can lead to a hype for gambling. You can tell that you are not addict if you still have self-discipline.
Gambling is too risky, and we all know this but again since you can gamble at a low capital and anywhere, this makes many vulnerable to addiction.
yep, anything related to online gambling today (network access, privacy, withdrawals/deposits) is very easy to make gamblers more addicted but not 100% of the majority of gamblers lead to addiction, many are able to control themselves wisely so they don't become gambling addicts.

There are also those who tell their gambling activities to their family with the aim that they don't get addicted to gambling because their family warns them all the time. I don't know if this method is effective, but it can be tried for those who gamble often.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling effects on LGBTQ+ People on: July 16, 2023, 06:15:04 PM
Recently research was held by Dr Reece Bush-Evans who told that online gambling could Hide the sexuality of the LGBTQ+ people and most of these people prefer online gambling as compared to physical gambling for obvious reasons.

The more important concern for the LGBTQ+ people is that they are being treated differently in a casino which may come under harassment. Also, the study says that people at the casino, the staff plus the public have shown discriminatory behavior towards these people.

New Research Explores Effect of Gambling on LGBTQ+ People
discussing LGBT now will never end, in my own city more than 90% are straight people and here we are strongly against all forms of LGBT, in offline casinos when you see LGBT people, they will definitely become the subject of ridicule for other gamblers and become a joke.

i have never seen that LGBT people like gambling, but if it is true that this research is carefully scrutinized, then i will believe that LGBT people gamble online to hide themselves and avoid ridicule from other people who they might be able to accept.
